I don’t remember exactly how I first found Bulldog’s blog when I started with Wordpress about a month ago, but somethng Bulldog wrote really spoke to me and I commented. And lo and behold said blogger was so kind as to return the favor! Thus began our friendly discourse via comments.
Poor Bulldog, held prisoner in Hampton Roads. How I felt for that poor poochie with those to-die-for eyes.
Loved “her” writing style, wit and political views.
But um, could someone please turn back time until just before I cited “Her” on a very prominent blog because it turns out Bulldog is not a Her. Not even remotely a Her. Has not been a Her at any time during or before our discourse. Had I checked Bulldog’s complete Blogger profile it would’ve become wildly apparent that “Male” was a rather prominent part of his description. Hey, I figured that dude in the photo from 1861 must’ve been of one of “Her” ancestors. (Photography was more or less widely available back then, right?)
And ladies like bulldogs too, don’t they? Bulldogs even come in females.
Dear Lord, Jannie.
Upside, Bulldog is a true gentleman. With a great sense of humor, as is apparent from his comments on my post yesterday. And from his wonderful blog in general.
Just goes to show how great the Internet can be, that it matters not whether you’re a man or woman – if your heart is true you will connect with others and the bloggin’ love will flow.
Bulldog, you deserve some nice juicy meat on those bones. If you’re ever in Austin, the steak’s on us!

How embawassing!
I think Blog buddies are great sometimes. I’ve had a few special folks put up quite a banter back n forth for awhile. Some just stopped blogging, guess they got bored or too busy. Then one guy got all PO’d because we had a football team disagreement! Excuse me for routing for my home team!
Blog buddies ebb n flow, but a good blogger keeps posting!

Ah, never mind Jannie! The amount I’ve had to shave this week could put me on par with a bloke anyhow! Although I must admit, seiving through your blog, I came across this statement:
“You cannot help men permanently by doing for them what they could and should do for themselves.”
Still at it after 20 years, too! I’m having this printed onto my tee-shirt!

I mistook a guy for a gal over the Internet once…I ended up marrying her…um…I mean, him…

I mistook my friend Leisa’s husband for her over the telephone when he answered. They sort of sound alike, but I was mortified.

As long as Bulldog doesn’t treat you different, it doesn’t matter.
I think everyone has made an error like that. And you could have covered it by “Oh… I know… did I really type her on my blog? My brain was not connected properly I guess, sorry. This is so embarrassing” and no one would ever know.

Karyn, why didn’t I think of that? Would certainly have saved me some public embarassment I brought on myself.
Boy, am I ready for a glass of wine.

I refer you to Mama Zen’s mammoth–or was it buffalo?–picture. Study it, commit it to memory. When unsure, study it again lol.
I’m teasing you of course. I’m the Queen of stepping in it. But sometimes goofy is endearing. At least, I like to think so!
Thanks for your comments at my blog, I really enjoy them!

*GIGGLE*! Oh, I love this post (and what an adorable bulldog)! I have a similar tale to share. Hubby and I have a big fluffy orange cat. We adopted him seven years ago when icky neighbors abandoned him. Thing is, though, for SIX YEARS we thought he was a GIRL! But I started suspecting differently (he’d been neutered before we adopted him and he’s VERY fuzzy) because of his behavior, and sure enough, we took him to the vet last year and she confirmed laughingly that yes, HE is a BOY. LOLOLOLOL!
He must really think we humans are slow on the uptake!

Forgot to add — he’d been taken to the vet for checkups before, and the old vet thought “he” was a girl, too! And not too strangely, that vet isn’t a working vet anymore. I wonder why…

Oh, Jannie… I sure wouldn’t worry about that unless he was posting naked pics and you STILL thought it was a female.
I was trying to listen to your music and I kept getting an error so I’m off on a Jannie quest again!

I have got to say that is too funny. I love your blog by the way and if my connection speed gets back up to par I hope to listen to some music.
I think that its great that He could talk with you in a way that you could be just friends. My hubby and I are like that. I also have another guy friend that I can communicate with just as if he were one of my girlfriends. Guys like that are rare.

Snag, I’m not really a sports person, so have no fear.
Lena, boy can I relate to the shaving!
Kalyani, love ya forever!
Lynn, I’ve totally done that with strangers but I think they may have gotten it before.
Karyn, as I said, you’ve got a much quicker mind than I.
Shay, I am so glad we’ve met.
Thomma Lyn, hilarious! I thought we were bad for not realizing our KitKat was a boy until things started “developing” on him. But SIX YEARS!! har!
Renee – wink-wink
BodyNaturalSoap, Bulldog is a rare one, yes.
Bulldog, I’ll never tell.
