Globally Recognized Ass-Kicking

Ass Kicking | Posted by Jannie on 1 November 2008 @ 10:47 PM 32 Comments

I wasn’t going to post again until Monday to remain all mysterious and such and see if my last post would break 40 comments but I must interrupt my planned shallowness to tell you my Gravatar’s working!  MY GRAVATAR”S WORKING!!!  Yay!  It’s really a dream come true.  Still a bit unsure about My Big Eye but wtf.
(If anyone wants Gravatar guidance in Wordpress, I’m your Jan!)
Plus, I now know how to put a picture in my sidebar, (as you can palinly see.)  (OMG. Palin-ly see!  I kid thee not.  I did not plan that.)
Yes, Bulldog, my bords on a wire never cease.
And… I learned how to change the background color on here today, not exactly what I had in mind as I was aiming to see the “Starry” GIF I stole from John McCain’s site create a nice pattern along either side of the body of this site.   Oh well.  Can’t have everything in one day.
Yours in loving mysteriosity…
Jannie
Oh, here’s Kelly from yesterday at 6:15 p.m. after I interrupted her Goosebumps show to have her put on her Halloween dress for some pictures on the front walkway while the natural light was still relatively good.   (And I probably should read my camera’s booklet (Thanks, Barbara!) to learn how to use it better.)  You might get a sharper image if you click on them.

Jannie! Dangit, girl, you made me spray diet Coke on my screen when I read your “bog” eye thing and the “sheesh” that came after hahaha. Some things are just plain funny, especially the misfortunes of others!

I loved the “planned shallowness” too. Ha! Or was it palin-ed shallowness? Next you’ll be speaking only in palin-dromes. And what’s with that McCain comment? Will a little blonde girl be turning around soon to say “they’re heeeeeere!”?

Mia: Yes those little triumphs over HTML are pure heaven. Still have so far to go but “petit a petit, l’oiseau fait son nid.” Like, what’s up with no time-stamp on my posts and on these comments??

“John McCain,” I know your comment’s only spam from some nut but I how can I delete it?

Mama Zen: thanks. I’ll be checkin’ you out soon too, you Zen Goddess of fire and witty commentary.

Joy: Come for a week – a month if you wish! We’ll leave The Child with The Husband same nights and frequent wild cafes where you can splatter your poems all over the walls and mugs for sale.

Shay: dittoes on the laffter. I actually acquired my eye in a bog on a very dark and windy night. I guess I’ll post on it as soon as the witching spells are finally released, but first I have to give up my other, and much smaller eye to the bridge trolls after submitting to the Most High Wizard a written account on my decyphering of all Mick Jagger’s lyrics without benefit of Lyrics.com any other such aid. And would you love me any less if you suspected I had raging Republican or Age of Aquarius leanings? Isn’t this Jannie still this Jannie whatever? :)

Georgie: Holey Shit, my Comment Luv’s activated now too. Thanks for dropping by! I must go see how you’re trying to be bored…

how do i get a gravatar that works on your site? i have a wordpress i don’t use… never could figure it out.. so stuck with blogger.

  • 12

On 2 November 2008 at 10:13 pm Jannie said,

Karyn: It’s really pretty easy. Just go here http://en.gravatar.com/ and sign up. You’ll give a little info and upload a photo, they even have a cropping / sizing tool for whatever you upload, so it’s easy. Then, basically what happens is your gravatar is assigned to your e-mail address and any site you comment on that is Gravatar-enabled will show your cool little pic next to your name. I’ll copy this comment and E-Mail it to you. Take care!

So, this is exciting – when you get something working – I like the “eye” –although I do feel like it’s watching me — is it??

And, I love the Halloween pics – she’s a real cutie in that princess outfit!

Fireblossom32: And isn’t it cool how even your pre-Gravatar comments now boast your new grav pic?? Oh, gotta go Fire, those pesky wannabees are holding up traffic outside my door again.

Suzie: it’s the picture that appears to the left of peoles’ comments, globally — if not solar systemly — recognized, on Wordpress blogs.

Lena: Thank you, I am fumbling along here with web things, but I have a long long way to go yet. And thanks for recognizing my blatant exploitaion of Kelly’s cuteness.

Wade: I’l explain in a comment on your blog, Wade’s blog which I highly recommend to you all.

Munchkins: Glad I found you too, Music Lady!

What adorable pictures. I just love Halloween.

I love it when I learn something new about my blog. I know this morning I was very frustrated. I went into change some font colors, deleted my header, etc. and came out all black and white. Now, 1/2 of the day is gone and it is fixed. UGH.

I use Typepad so I don’t think I can get one of those cute avatar things. I have to search into that. I like it.

(I left you a note in my comment section about the camera.)

Cricket, it is easy to take up a lot of time tinkering on a blog, but all in the name of learning! You can get signed up with Gravatar and whenever you comment on a blog that enables them, there’ll you’ll be in all your glory. BTW, my hubby’s name is Cricket, but Kriket.

Heff, you got yer smoking jacket on? And how are all those bunnies?

Patricia – Stumbled Upon is on my list, above doing the dishes, sweeping the kitchen floor and finding an old photo I want for a future blog.

Kath, yeah learning as I go here, for sure. I figure once (if,) I start hitting 100 comments I might get a bit bogged down. I guess I’ll just have to cross that bear when I come to it.

Georgie B, yeah another buttocks whooping moment with the Comment Luv enabled too. Who knew I’d actually figure it out?

Renee, it was actually your Big Ragtree Eye that inspired my eye to be all that it could be. You can change your Gravatar photo at any time, just log in, pick a new jpeg to crop and whoop some butt. I personally would love to see Grand-ma’s shiny rosy (facial,) cheeks. Or any of your amazing stuff – you got it going on!

Stephanie, if it’s for you — go for it, if not I’m sure it won’t affect your wonderfulness in the grand scheme.
