So, I missed the “Austin Wordpress Meet-up” Tuesday because of a big accident on Mopac and after slogging it out for 45 mins I took the next exit and went home, devouring 6 or 7 of these on the way.

(I like the grape ones best. Boy-Howdy iz dey good!)
Anyway, one of the Meet-Up guys has emailed requesting me as a friend, so that’s encouraging in my Wordpress quest. Or maybe he’s just likes Big-Eyed avatar gals?
Here’s what I need I’d like for my blog.
1. Time and date in comments box.
2. Get fonts corrected and get rid of the default double-spacing every time I hit Enter.
3. Stumble Upon.
4. Figure out why my Wordpress Stats plugin is not working, tho activated. (Maybe Google Analytics can work just as well?)
5. Get that Wordpress SEO plugin that Blogger For Hire Vered mentioned, which will hopefully work when activated.
6. Find out what the heck “Key, Value and Action” are in “Custom Fields” in my “Advanced Options” towards the bottom of the page where I write my posts.
7. See why I’ve been unsuccessful at changing my favicon.
8. Drink a margarita, a really big one.
How ’bout you? Any bugs in your blog? Anything you want to add or get rid of? Any plug-ins on your wish list?
P.S. I mentioned this Wordpress theme, ”Bible Scholar” was designed by a pastor, right? I wonder what he’d think if he came here to read about my bra flinging, ass-kicking, Wedgie Wedding & such. Actually, I wonder what God Himself thinks about my blog, but that’s a whole other post!

I use WordPress for my TACOMA FILM CLUB blog, and I am not real happy with the options, including the word processing aspect. I use Eblogger for FFTR, and it seems more user friendly to me–even though I struggle with the notion of uplinks or wordlinks or namelinks.
God talked to me this morning, and He especially created a moment to comment on JANNIE FUNSTER’s incredibley whacky and wonderful blog site. Seems that He is not the stuffed shirt many portray Him as. He has blessed you with a wonderful husband and child and home and mind and wit and humor and musical ability. How can you wonder how He feels about your blog? He adores it. And you can take that to the bank, the church, and the synagogue, or WalMart, whichever comes first.
As to Bra-flinging, I feel that it colors my day just trying to fully imagine those events. I also want you to realize that you have full blog community consent for such elastic conundrums.

Wordpress will drive you nuts! If you’re me. I’ve experimented with quite a few plugins. Here are some ideas.
1. Anything by Andy Bailey. He’s a God.
2. Check out the Mashable list:http://mashable.com/2007/07/24/wordpress-comments/
3. Wordpress Global Translator – When you have this on your blog, people can actually find you by searching Google in other languages! And your nuttiness would translate well. http://www.nothing2hide.net/wp-plugins/wordpress-global-translator-plugin/
4. Vlad Prelovic’s Snazzy Archives – Kewl – http://www.prelovac.com/vladimir/wordpress-plugins/snazzy-archives
5. Sociable by Peter Harkins. I didn’t even realize I’d messed this up on my blog until I checked for you! Anyway, it’s good. It lets you choose which social bookmarking icons to use & where to put them, etc. http://yoast.com/wordpress/sociable/

Hey Jannie-
These blogs always make me laugh somehow. That Texas accent. I can hear it through the things you write. I like it, I am not teasing you about it. I can say I have sorta met a real live Texan now.
And you weren’t wrong about cake-decorating being in my profile. I do like it only when i am not doing it as a job. I used to work for a grocery store making cakes and they were some of the most miserable days of my life.
The management always sux way more than the customers, even if you goof up they were usually nice. It was the management that was never happy. Always pushing and hounding about something.
Oh, and i can totally relate to that wondering what God thinks about your blog deal. I truly wrestle with that. But i have finally give up trying to dress myself up for the rest of the world……….to a point. I have never really met anybody who didn’t have some sorta skeleton in the closet.

Hi Jannie, in my devotion to electric cars, I sometimes forget they clog up the roads just as much as fossil fueled ones.
However, I suppose traffic jams would be quieter and less polluting … although the fuming would probably just continue in the cars.
I have a number of Wordpress blogs (as well as the Blogger ones) but had to cut down the number of plugins to just a few because, because as the versions are updated, incompatibilities and problems often arise.
The All in One SEO package because it makes the blog very much more G friendly.
Google XML sitemaps – for the same reason
Akismet – thank goodness for that.
Statcounter plugin.
Template is K2 because it lets me have three columns and a photo header.
I don’t believe in something for nothing (sorry Father Christmas) but I do find the new practice with plugins which directly asking for money after a month rather irritating – however, reasonable the request.
Great blog – keep up the good work

Nope I did not study cake decorating. I worked at a grocery store while I was in high school, in the bakery. I watched the cake decorator, and sorta taught myself…….the rest came from on the job training with a professional cake decorator.

The thing I really hate about my own blog is that I didn’t install it in the root directory, as I began with just a website. But I’m worried about moving it, incase I break a lot of the links. I need to find a way round it.
