This is not really a post. I’m just dripping dropping by on my way to Margaritaville to tell you that for the first time ever in a dream, last night… I actually got to see and talk to Leonard Cohen!!! Inside some cute little adobe cottage I was regaling him and 5 or 6 other strangers ’round an informal dinner counter about how I really love the SpongeBob episode where he has all his party activities planned to the very nanosecond — when suddenly L. Cohen grabs my stockinged foot with his warm foot under the table!
Playing footsies with L. Cohen?
This is quite the L.Cohen dream breakthrough for me as in past ones he was either not at his honorary office at the University of Laval, had already left his little studio that looked quite a bit like this but in black and white, or was off on a mission to Pluto.
Remember, this is not a real post.
(Care to share any of your weird / mysterious dreams?)

This is very interesting and yet not if it is a dream. For most dreams are pieces put together as random acts of just the rightness to form bliss or nightmare.
I am fasting for my blood sugar levels test on Monday morning so my dreams are all of sugar right now; piles of that stuff…I must normally just sit down with a 5 pound bag and spoon it in?
But I am going to amaze them and knock the Docs and others out of the ball park…and those insurance guys are going to have to eat their words..and all that paperwork…
such is the dream world

Nice. Interesting.
I would love to share a dream, but they all disappear shortly after waking. And honestly, I can’t recall what I did today much less what I dreamt another day. I wish I could. I’m sure it would be entertaining!

In 1967, while in the Navy, I was afraid that I would be transfered to a duty station in Vietnam. I had a reoccuring dream of being on patrol in the bush with a squad of grunts I did not know. We were ambushed and wiped out. I was wounded several times, lying partially under a big kid from Minnesota. The VC walked along with a pistol shooting the bodies in the head to make sure no one was faking. I was still alive. I could hear them getting closer and closer to me, the sound of those pistol shots getting louder with every second. Then someone is right above me. My eyes are closed. I am barely breathing and not moving. I feel the metal kiss of a pistol barrel against my temple. I hear the gun discharge. There is a flash of light, and then they walk off. BUT I am mysteriously still Alive!!!! Then I would wake up. I came to interpret this dream as a premonition that if I had been in combat I would have somehow survived. The universe was giving me a message. After I got out of the service in 1968, I never had the dream again.

Hey, it is significant that you were dreaming of Leonard Cohen and not Bob Dylan. Probably cuz I had mentioned them on a past post, figuring out our honesty thingie, or the who is Jannie post, or the all Bra post. Hard to remember. Your posts are legion and number in the dozens marching back over the weeks. I do wonder, though, how far will a bra fling when flung?

I had the most marvelous dream last night, it just so happens! I dreamt that I had an uncle living in Italy–he looked rather like the British actor Leo McKern–and that he invited me to come stay at his villa for a while. So I did. His villa was filled with all manner of artwork and statuary, so much so that it was stacked in the hallways. Outdoors, there were all of these simply gorgeous flowering trees. I walked past them and thought, “They’re so beautiful! I feel so alive!” Also, there were cats everywhere. One of them was blue and white, the way cats will be black and white or orange and white, except this one was Paul-Newman’s-eyes-blue and white. I thought, “He’s so pretty! So unusual!”
My neighbor across the courtyard was Mama Zen–I’m not making this up!–but her name was Catherine, and in my dream she had a husband and a little son, instead of a daughter. Also, she created these marvelous boxes filled with odd items which depicted significant days in her life, much like the suitcase art in “White Oleander.” I thought, “She’s so talented!”
All in all, just a magnificent dream!

Patricia: Mine was on the bliss side. Give ‘em heck with no blood sugar!
Mia: One day at a time, Sweet Jesus.
Mama Zen: Time for an upswept do and a moose hunt?
Glenn: Terrifying dream. Glad you didn’t get sent to Nam. I fell off the balcony into L.Cohen’s daisies the night I first heard Dylan sing. Depends on the strength of the flinger I guess. And the elastics tensile properties.
Georgie: I believe those places represent the nature of the sky as an acrobat’s net.
Michael: I like Ally Sheedy. Loved “Short Circuit,” she was more than a woman in that.

Shay: How cool!! My dream started outside the adobe, pritty flowers there too. Ah, Leo McKern, just Googled him, the kind of uncle any one would love. Paul Newman eye blue, how lovely. I’m finally getting used to the idea that he’s dead, like it’s finally sinking in that Kelly is seven, no longer six. (And Sunshine on My Shoulders is playing on your site.) Mama Zen’s post each a little box of beauty and wonder I guess?

Dreams are full of,well, dreams.
One by one the guests arrive
The guests are coming through
The open-hearted many
The broken-hearted few
And those who dance begin to dance
And those who weep begin
Welcome, welcome, cries a voice
Let all my guests come in
And there you were you Funster you, and the band played Hallelujah.Incidentally that has been covered by more people than carpet has floors, except perhaps the chipmunks.Damn why did I say that! The man hisself is touring here as I write,if I go should I say that I have had an exchange of Monty Python with you? Y’see I work on this principle, if it is that I dream of someone or something then that must have(or will) happen in real life, or in the parallel universe where the robbi who wins the Lotto each week and then the Nobel prize lives. So I guess as we,you and I, are practically cousins or close enuf then Leonard must also be my friend as he has rubbed socks with you.I shall pass that little bit of closeness on to himself whenever we meet.

Remembering a dream would require having a dream; and having a dream would require that I get some sleep. Instead, I am staring at the ceiling, listening to the clinking on the fan, and wondering when my mind will allow my eyes to close. Ho hum.

I had one the other day that I was driving our van (we don’t have a van) and threw it into reverse by accident sending myself over a cliff. On the way down I saw through the open side window that there was a tree. In James Bond fashion, I grabbed the tree and hoisted myself out of the falling van to safety.
Then the van crashed and burned. I wonder what this mean?

Robbi: And here they take their sweet repast
While house and grounds dissolve
And one by one the guests are cast
Beyond the garden wall
And no one knows where the night is going … (Give him a big wink for me.)
Stephanie: I’m a bit worried about your lack of sleep. Quite worried, in fact. Have you tried Ambien? That’s supposed to be good.
Sheila: Rides, journeys, signify our “ride” through life. I think yours pretty much means you are in some way lately a real pillar of support to your family, perhaps “saving” them in some way from something. Being the glue perhaps?

Rhett: You eloquent young whipper-snapper, how beautiful! Thanks for sharing. Where is she now?
Dot: William Hurt. Ahh, from his Body Heat, The Big Chill, or The Doctor days? Or all his days? One of our all-time grest actors. Did he ever star with Meryl Streep, no there would be a winning combo.
Matthew: I will check it out but it has to be from my other computer because I have no sounds on my laptop. BTW, Cohen regrets letting it slip that he wrote that for Janis Joplin. Poor Janis.

jannie you are a blogaholic, internet junkie- you need therapy friend. Anyway, so you wanna hear about my dream huh? Sorry, no can do. Am I awful to aggravate you like that?
I must learn to never read your blog (or blog comments) while in the midst of sobering phone conversations with my parents. (God bless their souls if they only knew the heathen they raised.) They could not understand why I am chuckling……..well, when chuckling was out of context.
Note to self- never read Jannie’s blog while discussing obituaries and family funerals with your parents. :0)

Did I confuse you? I meant I was surfing the internet while talking to my dad on the phone. I read your comment in response to my dream comment and I started laughing. He was talking about something serious, but i sorta killed the mood.
I am horrible. Once I was in the middle of a funeral and starting cracking up over a conversation i had with a friend over the internet just hours before the ceremony. When i start plotting something mischievous, it is all over, i am probably going to laugh, regardless of it not being the right time or place.
