So… 7 facts about me, thanks to the tag from Patricia of Patricia’s Wisdom. BTW, hers is a super-great inspirational blog, if ever you’ll find one. (And she puts up with my wacky comments over there so you know she’s gotta be a saint.)
1. I’m blood type B+
2. I’m always about 5 lbs heavier than I’ll admit at any given time (currently I’m 120.)
3. I earned a Bachelor’s of Education – French major, History minor but when the Nova Scotia Department of Education filled out my teacher’s certificate they mistakenly gave me a double major and me, being the eternally caring and thoughtful one I am, didn’t want to embarass them so never let them know their error. : )
4. I won the Winter Carnival chocolate-cream-pie eating contest in my college freshman year, womens’ division of course.
5. I taught school for 2 years in Canada before running off here to Texas with my landlord. (Still with him more than 18 years later.)
6. I grew up on a farm and can milk a cow. Not that I like milking them, but I can.
7. I am an expert kindling chopper, give me axe, a good chopping block and any log shorter than 3′ and I’ll give you as many perfect 1.5″ x 1.5″ sticks as that log will allow.
There you have them! Now, as I understand the “rules” of this to be…
A. You link back to the person who tagged you (as I did above and here with Patricia.)
B. Tag 7 people (don’t worry if it’s less than 7, it’s all in fun, anyway,) and link them on your blog, as I will below.
C. Comment on the blogs of the others who were tagged.
So… here are the 7 of you I’m tagging (and dang I hate this freaking default double-spacing. Gotta get with Kim Woodbridge on that.) Anyway… I would like to tag Tammy Cricket but I know she is off to boot camp tomorrow, so Tammy, I’ll get you in the future. And those of you I did not tag here please don’t think you are not among the favorites of my heart today. I’m sure I will get to you all as more memes make their way around.
1. Kayrn at Sailing the Great Lakes.
2. Sheila at Ma Vie Folle.
4. Talon at Talonted
5. Ella at Jam jar Boogie
6. Mia at General Hysteria
7. Heather at How To Be A Woman

Hey, I can milk a cow too (I’m guessing that probably doesn’t surprise you, though…). And your blood type was my college GPA… although no double-minor…weird, huh. Well…probably not…

I just wanted to reply to your comment about the Titanic staircase wedding option. I’d not want to do it either because it’s a staircase….can you imagine walking with your long train and tripping and rolling down the stairs in front of your guests??? That would be one to remember. Or when you go to do the ‘you may now kiss’ part losing your balance on a stair and doing the same? Although thinking about it you probaly won’t be on the stairs but at the top.. but still.

Well I’ll try…

Like Ella, this is a first for me…my first meme. It’s late and I’ll have to do this tomorrow…but thank you, Jannie…now I’ll have to think of seven interesting facts about little old me…Harder will be coming up with seven people to tag, but I’ll do my best. Most commenters on my blog are do not have blogs, so it will be tricky…
I would love to see you handling the axe~! I’m thinking such a skill is a very handy one. I milked a cow once. Didn’t do a great job and I haven’t ever done it again (the milk cows of the world are still sighing with relief)…

Lance: I was a B average when I finished college, not bad when you consider my first year I had made a .99 out of a possible 4.5 GPA. (A tad too many beers with my chocolate cream pies methinks.)
Karyn: Yeah, would be one of those wonderful “models on the runway wobbling on 5″ heels moments.” I hope you will have fun with the meme and I look forward to peeking deeper into your soul.
Ella: You’ve always been too legit to quit to me!
Talon: Just do what you can on the meme. Can’t wait to read your scintillation. Someday I’ll just have to put me on YouTube choppin’ kindling!
Caity: Don’t worry about your bloodtype. If ever you need to know (God forbid,) then can test it very quickly. Next meme I get – you’re it!
MAKUM: What? You want me to run off with you? But I’m a happily married woman.
C2+3: But you’re taller than I! You can pull it off better. Ah, to heck with the scales, the jeans tell the tales. (Wow, rhymey.)
MamaZ: Why do I have little trouble believing you CAN do that??

Okay, Jannie…maybe I stretched the B+ a bit too… beer and peanuts (it fit so well with your blood type though!!) – and yes, you did well – a nice comeback!!

So true. I stopped weighing myself years ago. Our clothes tell us if we’ve gained weight. No need to fuss over the numbers. They do insist on weighing me once a year when I come in for a checkup, so I have a general idea. But once a year seems more than enough.

Teahouse: You don’t know the half of it! I could be a champion chopper I’m sure. I just wasn’t so good in the log-rolling and caber tossing portions of the Woods-Woman Games, so never entered.
Vered: From what I’ve seen of svelte you in any picture you post, whatever you’re doing is definetly working!
Mia: Yeah, I doubt I’ll go back to teaching in N.S. but if I ever do I’ll for sure have to fess up, ’cause I’m sure they ALL read my blog, every last syllable of every single scintillating word. Yes, it was pretty kind-hearted of me, wasn’t it?

Miladysa: Great question on the endometriosis, I never thought about it that way. I usually think of it as “Be Positive!” I wonder if they have done a survey on that. I must ask Jeanne at Jeanne’s Endo blog.

Well, the love is out here, Ms. Funster, and your Peeps respond in gaggles, herds, hordes, and posses. The meme list should probably read 7 Little Known Facts About Me, or not. Here goes:
1. I was a professional actor from 1968-1977. Returning from a gig in Australia in 1977, I decided to “get a real job” for just one year, to not have to live on unemployment, nor put up with the negative energy and rejection that making a living with the Arts involves. I became a Special Ed Teacher, working with the blind, and I never looked back. That was 33 years ago.
2. I learned to milk a cow for fun, and a goat too, but it wasn’t, so I never did it again; couldn’t get the rhythm correctly with all my fingers at once; a spazz-milker I guess.
3. I was chopping kindling for the wood stove when I was 10 years old, while holding the piece of wood with my foot, missed the wood, and drove the hatchet into my foot; sort of took the fun out of chopping after that.
4. I graduated “First In My Class”, Highline College, 1965. But before graduation happened three weeks later, I had a job for the summer. On the evening of the ceremony, where I was supposed to lead out the procession, I forgot all about it, and went to a movie. I called home and my brother told me everyone was calling. I dropped the phone, peeled rubber for 25 miles and arrived just in time to lie about being late, and come out last in the procession line.
5. I wanted to be a Movie Reviewer, but did not go to Journalism school, so never had the formal opportunity to do so. Thank God for blogsites. I now have over 100 reviews posted from Amazon to FFTR; some are over 50 pages in length.
6. I loved going fishing with my grandfather, but after he died I never went again. I guess I loved him more than the fishing.
7. I never knew my father. No one but my mother did it seems. Her first husband was my first stepfather. It was quite a shock to discover this at 25 years old. I’ll bet my old man was a hoot.

I love this list. Guess what? I chop wood. You see the fireplace in my pictures well it is me that brings home the wood. It works like this. I go on the streets behind me where there are large old trees. After a storm passes I go and gather wood in the back of my SUV (now wrecked). I bring it home and cut it with an electric saw. Yes I can! I know the electric part is not the same but at least I cut wood and bring home the bacon.
Ew! I sound like the perfect person for boot camp!
