Jannie’s Fine!!

Guys, sorry I’ve been AWOL. Dear sweet Lynn just e-mailed to check up on me.

I’m fine!!

Took me a while to recover from the camping trip lack of sleep, went to a song critique session last night, been re-writing bits here and there, (still trying to get the 3rd verse lyrics of Rosie’s song to flow immaculately,) working on guitar, making and delivering posters and flyers for the show, getting with Affordable Sound about the CDs, trying not to freak out in any way, as the turn-around for what I want is actually 7 business days, not 2 or 3 .   Etc, etc.

Sorry I haven’t even answered your comments from the last post. I aim to soon.  And revel in your latest blog posts.  And I aim to get another song video up in the next couple-few days, the “I Need A Man” (with a chainsaw,) one.

And what’s new with you?

You take your time! The internet/blog world should be a stress reliever, not a stress inducer. You’re busy doing important life things. (I find myself stressed about the blog, emails, commenting, keeping up with FB, the twitter beast (yes, I just joined – why? – not sure), and I have to remind myself what my priorities are. It’s hard.)

Glad you’re okay! Mark all the blogs in your Reader as “read”, shake it off and move forward! I do that sometimes. :)

Hey, just popping in until I pop out again to get the Kellster.

Vered: It’s true we do get busy. My desire is spend an hour or two a day blogging and when I’m out of touch, like the past 4 days I feel so yuckky. I just love you all so much!

Talon: Yes, and I got some great work done today I think. Did get that 3rd Rosie Song verse done! And re-did the Ukulele bridge, as per critique last night – totally better! And am off to drop of my CD master after Kelly’s guitar class, so all is good. They got the artwork PDFs and didnt’ mention anything needed changing on the. And there are still 13 business days left, so I’m rocking!

Lynn, I hope I didn’t embarass you? You ARE sweet and dear. I’d probably have e-mailed you too! I can see how my last comment post-camping might have seemed a little weird and left you wondering.

K: I have been thinking about you too and looking forward to reading your latest no-doubt great and funny posts! I think about you all.

Hey Chris: You too huh?? I can imagine with 3 boys, 5:30 a.m. workouts and all else you’ve got your hands full. Did you see my amazing Tweet botton. Oy vey!

Hi Jannie – seeing you asked, I’m feeling depressed. I dunno, just am. I may as well go and eat some big fat worms.

It didn’t help that my blog got severely scraped (copied) overnight – I woke to my emails this morning to find about a trillion pingbacks from internal links in the posts. There were no contact details on the blog concerned, but using my exceptional brilliance I was able to hunt ‘im down and threaten him with Vered (just kidding) and also asked him to delete the posts and he has done so – saying he “made a mistake with his new autoblog software” Huh?

And I have been thrown off the top 100 australian women bloggers thingy – oh well – it was very inaccurate, anyway.

And I had to deal with a pushy young thing at open mic last night, who for some reason got under my skin.

Maybe some red wine tonight and pasta and the Robert Plant DVD we just got working yesterday by managing to buy a cheap(ish) zone-free DVD player – all DVDs sold on Amazon are zoned for US, none for Australia – Sheesh!

Davina: It’s going pretty good here. (I think.) Some me time happens too — my walk / run on the trail. A shower or bath every week or so. :) I guess I’m a bit of a worrier, especially if I wake up in the wee hours, I wish my mind would just hush the frig up in the middle of the night, as Liara Covert points out, worry is not who we are.

Thomma Lyn: Always more than a delight to see your shining face over here. Good-busy yes. Just got to keep at it, with happy thoughts and attitude. :) I bet it’s beautiful there on your hikes!! Must be sooo many birds on your mountain.

Patricia: I believe any pressure I’m feeling is entirely self-imposed. As Liara Covert points out, it’s how one perceives what is happening. I’ve missed YOU all week, actually! I’ve got about 2 hours of guitar work / run-through to do this afternoon, then think I can take a great break tonight and visit some blogs while Jim adn I are watchng that Saly Field movie on LMN. Yes, started watching the tube again, :) just movies, tho.

Teahouse: “I need a man with a chainsaw,
I need a man with an axe,
A guy who’s good in the garden
Who’ll give my weeds a whack.
I need a maaaaaaan to trim my hedges
To fertilize and cut the grass.
    I need a man with a chainsaw,
I need a man with an axe…” I guess you can relate?? :)

Lynn: Thank you for LETTING me share my stuff. I’d be lost without you. :) And I should have that new video up Friday. And put up snippets of my other songs up soon too.

Talon: Thanks. I am happy. Busy. But happy. :) I even plan to do my dishes sometime today! Perhaps even right after I post this, perfect time to do my vocal worm-ups as I tidy the kitchen.

Mia: Ah, has my absence made your heart grow fonder?? :) How sweet. Thanks! Oh, and did you notice it’s YOUR WEEK here at Funster Tagline Land?!

Christina. Thanks! I appreciate the sentiment. I have this weird part of me that feels I shouls be able to get over to everyone’s blogs as soon as they post and read every wonderful word! :) Ah, but Should is an “S” word and best to be avoided.

Robin! What thrown off the top 100?! That’s the thing about blogging, thre are like 5000 new ones a day, or soemthing. Quite a dilution. If it’s any comfort, you’ll always be THE TOP Aussie Girl blogger to me! :) Always! Hell about all those ping-backs. Oooo – did you sing at or host an open mike?/ I MUST KNOW about that last thing!!! And what — DVDs zoned too? I remember the VHS / PAL thing but DVDs — sheesh.

Snag. Middle Boy? Milo Brockovitch? My Baby? Mad Bertha?? :) I’ve missed reading your posts and seeing your pix. WILL be over soon! The uke re-write went great, the new bridge (with mostly snappy 16th notes for a cool contrast to the rest of the song goes…)

Little ukulele, oh, you never let me down.
You make me have a smiley-face, instead of a big frown.
When I hear your pretty pretty pretty music play
You take me to a tiki hut in Honolulu Bay!

Rosie’s Song is almost there (I think.) Still tweaking my ideas a bit. I think it’s more a matter of singing and singing it to get the flow firm in my head.

Hey, J.D. Was all prepared to post this, then refreshed to see your lovely comment. :) Chainsaw Man Video coming Friday to a Jannie Funster site near you!!!

Jannie’s Big Day is coming up like a hurricane on the Gulf. We can hear the thunder, and see the flashes of lightning announcing the event. Even God in his heaven is hip to Jannie in May. Love the nickname, Kellster. Some odd types even call me the Glennster at times. That would make you the Jannster, and the lists are infinite, fecund, facile, and fun. Really, you are so squared away with the poster people, the CD people, the dancing fingers on the frets….what’s to worry? As to your absence from the blog, that’s just silliness. You need to stretch your sphere of infleunce at times. You have drummed up this huge Funster Posse of admirers and jokesters out here, but we are patient as well as adoring.

Hi Jannie – we run an open mic every Tuesday at a pub – Frank does the sound and I wrangle the people. They do about 15 min each and we put about 14 through a night. The standard is quite high! (sometimes extraordinary) – except for when it isn’t. They queue up to get in and some miss out, which is awkward.

Yeah most DVDs are zoned – you probably don’t notice it because you are in the US. The US is zone 1, and Australia is zone 4, and DVD players will only play a certain zone – on our computers, you can change the zone of the player 5 times and then it is locked. It stinks. Anyway, we watched the first part of the Robert Plant and Jimmy Page DVD last night and it is awesome.

Jannie, nice to learn you had fun frolicking with the tree fairies and other enchanted creatures. Remember the Shakespeare play of a Midsummer Night’s Dream? Gee Glenn: Thanks for the terrifying outlook of my up-coming show! :) No, I’m fine. Relaxed. Happy about the show. It’s all an on-going flow of good energy, anyway. And any worry is just an illusion.

G: You mean, we all as humans in general are sucking up space? Please enlighten, I am rather thick as a plank in some respects. :)

Robin: Ooo I like pubs. :) And Open Mics, even tho I have like, 100% more nerves at them than a regular gig — Why is that? That’s about the same amount of folks that get to run through our O.M.s here too. And one here is so popular I’ve seen musicians almost come to physical blows about not getting a spot. Gee! So they started doing a lottery and if you miss it one week you get the choice of a spot the following week. You ever run into that?

Liara: Believe it or not, about 15 years ago when I thought I might like to be an actress, hadn’t accessed my music writing yet, I audtioned for Mid Summer’s Night Dream. I TOTALLY SUCKED! But I did it. :)

Debbie: I think in the future I’m just going to ride with being behind. But I’m catching up now!! :)

Snag: Duh, Jannie MB – Mild Brain. Whoops. See! I can’t even get my brain to write Milk Brain. How lovely your daughter reads your blog all the time. Oh — mine is starting to, now that she’s such a great reader, so I have to be careful!! :) Very careful. She’ll veer from one of her kids’ sites over to leave me a comment. Oh, Lordy.

Cathy: Nice and stress-free here today! Kelly’s staying for after-school so I don’t pick her up until 5:30. I do have to go out around 3:30, tho. :) Wish me luck!!

Sara: As with Cathy’s comment – thank you! The deeper I get into this blogging thang, I’m realizing it does take a lot of time and that you guys are not waiting with held breath for my every word!! Thank God. :) (Thank you, God!)

Miladysa!!! So good to see you. God bless. How are your lovely and black pillows ?? :)

Sheila: I took video only. :) And not exceedingly much of it. But some other parents took pix. So good to “see’ you here! I’m wirting you up next week!

Paige: Chigger and skeeter free this trip, thankfully. Kelly did get a fire-ant bite, poor baby. I love camping! Wish my hubby would stay the night instead of leaving after the pot-luck dinner. :)

    Lance: You Sweetie!!! :)

Barbara: I can see how you must get very very overwhelmed at times with your large blog you work so hard at. I wonder how you keep up at all. I’m just glad you do! :)

Patricia: How deeply we depend on out internets. I know I do. I heard a chainsaw here today too! Maybe it’s the same guy? :)
