74% blogging addicted. And you?
Blogging | Posted by Jannie on 5 July 2009 @ 12:01 PM 57 Comments
Yep, this Blogging Addiction Survey claims I’m 74% addicted. How ’bout you? Takes about a minute to fill out. [EDIT: After you finish the 14 questions you can ignore the "Okay, Sign me up" and click the "no thanks, take me to my quiz results."]
To me that survey feels more like entertainment than legitimate concern for a potentially serious and debilitating addiction, but this survey from The Center For Internet Addiction (Net Addiction,) seems like the real deal; it suggests I may “surf the Web a bit too long at times but I have control over my usage.” Yep, sounds like me.
Net Addiction also cites additional quizzes and useful links for Internet addiction recovery and treatment resources.
So? You addicted too?

I was 64% addicted which was actually a surprise to me considering I spend almost all of my time blogging, reading blogs, thinking about blog ideas, and fantizing about someday reaching blogging fame (whatever that is). Hahaha. This was a fun little quiz to take and it’s good for me to think about how much effort I put into blogging. I don’t know about you, but I get so much out of it that I don’t mind putting so much into it! I love the comic too. So funny and true!

Hey, y’all!
Sheila, oh yeah, you number one in many ways. So… if you had answered that part you’d most likely be more like 74% I bet!
Hey Positively: Blogging fame is an all-consuming effort i bet, probalby take 2-3 years to get there, but I’d say you are well on your way. And yes, Dani, I get sooooo much out of it too – all you peeps’ love, self expression. Love it! And lol on the same thing you and Sheila said.
G: 52%, well that is pretty low indeed! Did you answer the part about you’d be blogging about your blogging addiction?
Lynn: Me neither – no stopping in sight for me, whee-hoo. TO infinity and beyond!
Vered: Sorry ’bout that, I’ll put in an edit to reflect that under the “Okay, Sign me up” line, off to the right it does say “no thanks, take me to my quiz results.” Good to know.
Hey Mike. I cannot imagine being without a computer for much more than half a day, yikes. Half a month, wow! Still, if I was gearing up for it and let everyone know I would be out of touch, I think I’d be more than fine with it! There was life before the Internet too, I’ve heard.

Well, well, well, well, well, well, well. (You can call that seven big holes in the ground.)
Mama Z: I am shocked and amazed by your high count. But I beat ya, ha! A grand addiction honor.
Pouty Lips: Would that be 1.5 sheets to the blogging wind? (Instead of 3.)
Thomma Lynn: I would say you are just perfect as you are. After all, you have to market yourself and your writing. And doing a great job of it.
Eileen: Wow, the first one to beat me. And thanks a bunch for popping by. Great to meet you.
Caity: 94%! You’re the winner, yay!
G: A blogger with that title might well get a lot of traffic from a post like that.
Davina: Oh no, up to 51%
I actually got a 75% last week on this. Weird.
Lance: Is that 33.3 repeating? And ah shucks on that last thing you said, that made me feel all warm & fuzzie.
Talon: Nope, you’re pretty tame indeed. Can I check back with you on this in 6 months? In a year? Bet you’ll be up to a whopping 36%.
Barbara: Many of us are very very happy that you’re addicted, we get so much out of your classroom. Which reminds me, I should go over there to your blog and search “blog addiction.” I bet I’d find some good stuff.
Cooper: Hey, welcome! lol on the controlling interest. Hope you never slide to less than 51%.
Adrenalynn: I was brutally frank on myself with my answers. And maybe you were too.
Shay: 54% is way under conrol. You must be a bastion of balance.
J.D. Denial, more than just a river in Egypt. More than a million computer clicks away.
Tom: There is help – come here each and every day where we shall all chat about being addicted. Or join an addiction forum we all get addicted to.
And now, I’m off to hit the Stumble Button until the cows come home.

Yes, yes, indeed.
Ching Ya: lol on the 80% of your thoughts revolve around blogging. I think blogging is just so much fun, it pulls you in. And how can connections and sharing of minds and hearts be a bad thing? Unless you forget ot pay your electricity bill and the power gets chopped. (But that’s only happened to me once. hee hee.)
Hey Sweet Mia. Great to see you, as always! And again, love your new gravatar showing your pretty face, paints such a better picture than the old one that showed basically just your forehead. Mia again, hey I finally moderated your comment. Read that post by Finding Normal. What a heartbreak. Liara: Telepathy, cool. That will save a lot of money in expensive computers and all that go with them. Not to mention phone bills will be non-existent. No lost calls either. The possibilities are endless. Will be a shiny day with us all vibrating up high.
Natural: I love blogging too! I’m probably less addicted now than months ago, balancing it out with other life things.
Hey Lisa. Have you discovered Stumble Upon – talk about lots of interesting blogs to read. I just love blogging. A whole new consciousness I never knew existed. Long live blogging!!
Evelyn: Cool! I think as you get deeper into blogging you settle on an amount that’s right for you, learning what’s important to you and doing it Your Way.
Suzen: I totally know what you mean about feeling you’ve fallen behind. I get kind of antsy feelign when I don’t get around and read Every Post of Every Blogger I follow. But I’m probably going to have to learn to let that feeling that go, if I’m not able to keep up as I wish.
