74% blogging addicted. And you?

Blogging | Posted by Jannie on 5 July 2009 @ 12:01 PM 57 Comments

Yep, this Blogging Addiction Survey claims I’m 74% addicted. How ’bout you?  Takes about a minute to fill out.  [EDIT: After you finish the 14 questions you can ignore the “Okay, Sign me up” and click the “no thanks, take me to my quiz results.”]

To me that survey feels more like entertainment than legitimate concern for a potentially serious and debilitating addiction, but this survey from The Center For Internet Addiction (Net Addiction,) seems like the real deal; it suggests I may “surf the Web a bit too long at times but I have control over my usage.”  Yep, sounds like me.

Net Addiction also cites additional quizzes and useful links for Internet addiction recovery and treatment resources.

So?  You addicted too?

Ha! I got 54% but wasn’t all that convinced. =P
Sadly it didn’t ask “Do 80% or more of your daily tasks/thoughts are about blogging?”, the answer I’m gonna give gotta shoot me up to 90% for sure. lol..

Well, it’s a fun quiz, but also a reminder for us to stay healthy with a balanced life. Yes?

Great to be here again. Take care Jannie! ^^

He told me, “You are way too into this whole blogging thing”.

Jannie, its wonderful to raise awareness about the variety of communication means available. As one moves from talking and writing to telepathy, one realizes the familiar physical computer is slowly becoming obsolete.

Ok, I hit 71%, which I’m okay with. I know I tend to read too many blogs, but there are so many good ones to see and learn from. And there are also ones that help me start the morning with a smile, like this one.

    Thanks, Jannie. :)

The test sounds like fun! However, I know that I don’t need it to know that I am addicted. However, my addiction has decreased somewhat gradually since last year. Like Barbara, I try to strike a balance.

Fun test! I got 63% but it feels like it should be higher – maybe I lied? haha! I know I have a really hard time being up at the lake off and on during the summer with no internet access there – makes me positively NUTS cuz I fall so behind on blogging it takes me days of on line to get back to “normal” before I up and go away again.

Well hi, Peeps! It’s summer (just in case you haven’t noticed yet.) I hadn’t really until today. Noticed, that is. Woke up with a massive realization that boom — winter has gone. The cicadas are rasping their droning Texas tune.

All that aside… I turn my heart and head now to… Whom?…

Ah, Ching Ya, but I need to switch to my laptop as this keyboard has 10 keys that stick. Brand new QWERTY board too – what did I expect for $7.99?

So now I’m on my laptop, and through the wonder of WordPress technology was able to infiltrate this comment. Cool, eh?

    Yes, yes, indeed.

Ching Ya: lol on the 80% of your thoughts revolve around blogging. I think blogging is just so much fun, it pulls you in. And how can connections and sharing of minds and hearts be a bad thing? Unless you forget ot pay your electricity bill and the power gets chopped. (But that’s only happened to me once. hee hee.)

Hey Sweet Mia. Great to see you, as always! And again, love your new gravatar showing your pretty face, paints such a better picture than the old one that showed basically just your forehead. Not that your forehead was not absolutely dazzling as far as foreheads go, great to have a smile to go with it. Too afraid to take the blogging addiction quiz eh, lol.

Mia again, hey I finally moderated your comment. Read that post by Finding Normal. What a heartbreak. I bet that doctor better have a darned good reason, like somebody in his very very immediate family just died and he has to go to the funeral – otherwise that’s just a sin. Unbelievable. Unreal. I’ll have to take a minute now, before I continue with these comments…

Okay… switcing gears, which happens a lot in the blogging world, as we go from joy to heartbreak from the things we read.

    Okie, dokie.

Rose @ 67%. Slipping because you wish you were more addicted or less? :)

Robin: Really – taken over your whole life? Cool!! You’re on the right track, Girl!

Liara: Telepathy, cool. That will save a lot of money in expensive computers and all that go with them. Not to mention phone bills will be non-existent. No lost calls either. The possibilities are endless. Will be a shiny day with us all vibrating up high.

Natural: I love blogging too! I’m probably less addicted now than months ago, balancing it out with other life things.

Hey Lisa. Have you discovered Stumble Upon – talk about lots of interesting blogs to read. I just love blogging. A whole new consciousness I never knew existed. Long live blogging!!

Evelyn: Cool! I think as you get deeper into blogging you settle on an amount that’s right for you, learning what’s important to you and doing it Your Way.

Suzen: I totally know what you mean about feeling you’ve fallen behind. I get kind of antsy feelign when I don’t get around and read Every Post of Every Blogger I follow. But I’m probably going to have to learn to let that feeling that go, if I’m not able to keep up as I wish.

    Cool Beans!

Off to Club Penguin now, to play with Kelly. Seriously!

The cartoon reminds me of my husband. He reads my blog faithfully, but doesn’t comment (he says to give me my space which I think is sweet), but when I want to talk about something I say, “Have you read my blog post?”

I USED to be addicted to blogging. Now…not so much anymore.
