They came. They read.  They commented.  They generally kicked butt, and still do.

Ladies and Gentlemen, let us tiptoe once again through the tulips with the Seriously Weird Contest Winners.

Inkmarks On A Blank Page — for all your Cocolat cravings.

The Jungle Of Life — nicest guy on the web.

Matthew Dryden — on a blogging break perhaps, but not forgotten.

Fawty — the Belle of the blogging ball, but Is she on hiatus too?

Sources of Insight — the Result Getter

Deeper Issues — life humor and insights.

Pink Ink — the pursuit of ha-pink-ness.

Exit Stage Right — poet, painter, sculptor

Dream Builders Australia — self-disclosure extraordinaire.

Ma Vie Folle — that’s her crazy life, in French.

General Hysteria — a life of managed chaos.

Paradise Valley 2 Hell’s Mountain — nuttier than me.

Feel Free To Read — world’s biggest poetry fan.

Patricia’s Wisdom — inspiring everybody.

Happy Making — a truly unique blog

Let’s Live Forever! — the physical immortality chooser

My favorite taglines from those semi-finalists are…

5.  Robin of Let’s Life Forever!, “Seriously Weird.” (Inadvertantly.)

4.  Patricia of Patricia’s Wisdom, “Queen Of Remodeling Patience.”

3.  Glenn of Feel Free To Read, “Have Bra Will Fling.”

2.  Dot of Deeper Issues, “Flinging Bras Since 1977.”

1.  Lance of The Jungle Of Life “Will Sing For Beer & Donuts.”

So, Lance is THE ULTIMATE WINNER for best describing what Jannie Funster is all about.  He will receive a bag of Cheetos, a box of 5-oz Dixie Cups and pair of brand-spanking-new mismatched socks.

To you “also-rans” who vied for the tagline title but met with crushing defeat in the face of bras and beers, and to all of you who come here regularly, thanks for reading — you are the hearts and bones of JannieFunster.com and I appreciate your support so much.

And guess what?!  I’m finally getting my blogroll set up, so please check it out and let me know in the comments below if your blog’s name is correct.  it will be linked forever.  And ever!    :)

Thanks!  xo

    Hey Jannie!
So, those socks…are these the ones from the garage sale? Geez, as fun as they sound…I’d hate to tear them away from you!

How about when we meet (it’s gotta happen sometime, I know it does…) – I buy the beer and you buy the donuts. And, you sing…

It’s been loads of fun (more fun than a loaded washing machine – way way more fun!) this whole rotating tagline here – what a creative bunch of folks you have hanging out at this place!!

And, I’m honored by your choice. It does fit you well!

    Jannie, THANK YOU!!

Hi Jannie – thanks for the links! I checked out my blogroll entry and it is all OK and correct. I really like your artwork – it has that sort of urban, edgy feel – it’s not even weird! (seriously). Congratulations to Lance on a tagline well done – I look forward to seeing him in his new socks – eating Cheetos and Dixie Cups (whatever they are).

Hello Garden: I did get over to your blog but couldn’t find a single donut for all your gorgeous roses and orchids. Thanks for popping by, tho.

G: You’ll see your blog name now as you wish it to be. And really, a pig roast? Was it a big party? I went to one in 1982 and have never been the same since. And you are welcome muchly.

Lance – you got it — those yardsale socks! And I think I can let at least a pair of them go. You know, I tote that current box of socks with me to sales everywhere just in case I find some matches! Speaking about meeting, you ever think of going to a blogging “do”? Don a wig and meet at BlogHer? I’ll write a blogging song and sing it there.

Robin: My “art work” is created within the confines of Microsoft Paint. Weekly winners listed here in reverse order as they appeared from the codfishing boot, and I think I got a little better with them as I went. You are now linked for eternity my dear in that roll. Oh – Dixie Cups – here is a link for your vast enlightemment… :) (I like the tulip ones best.)

    http://www.makeitadixieday.com/prdct-cups-bath.html

Hey Jen: Still devastated over Dunkin Donuts closing but I’ve found Howdy Donuts now — their glazed are melt-in-your-mouth-fabulous, and unless preceded by a big fat steak, will give me an instant migraine. I think super-highly of Lance too, he’s got the greatest spirit.

Betsy: “Some Serous Corn.” Is that one of y’all’s Minnesota sayings? Or as far back as Michigan? Like saying “high cotton?” If you’re on Jannie’s blogroll, you are for sure in high cotton, like that? Lance, he’s funny to beat the band. And who did all that band beating, anyway? Those poor musicians.

Caity? What? I can do that with Wordpress? No, I knew, I knew, I just put the roll on a separate page, ’cause I read it in a book. You’re linked now!

Talon: The riffer was 43 degrees Farenheit. But the man-made lazy tubing riffer was about 75. And the margaritas slushy and just above freezing. Everybody who has now commented is linked up on That Fabulous Blogroll. And did you know there actually is a website that will alphabetize any list? Yep. And put numbering in and other fabulous features.

Barbara: As to ads, you know I worked for years on Madison Ave, right? Yes, at a coffee shop slinging lattes and standing out with a sandwich board on to reel in potential customers. Speaking of coffee, I’m up early. It’s almost time, but I think I’ll go back to bed for 1.5 hours, actually. Hopefully we’ll get a picture of Lance in those socks!

Hey, Davina, those weekly blurbs do kind of look impressive all in a row like that, don’t they? :) Yes, Jim is indeed the motocop voice and I still can’t believe I forgot to put that in the credits – darnit, but I will on the second printing of the disc. CBC, Vancouver – here I come!! (Yes, that’s actually on my list — to contact them this week.)

Ah J.D. Warn’t no thang. Just took your graphic, extended the black and put in some fonts. I must say tho, yours was one of my top 3 visually. Yep, t-shirt time. Maybe even mugs and tie tacks. :0

Snag: Exit Stage Right it is, indeed. Well, to get to your site I log onto either Talon or Lynn and find you in their comments. Just kidding! As much as I would love to read every post by every one of those bloggers in the long list, many of them I do not get around to as much as I wish. It is nice to have them all in one place now, tho, for easier access.

Lynn: My, you are an early riser today! Yep, monumental. Or just “mental,” Of me, of course. Curently I have partial blog lists on both my computers, so this will make it overall easier for me, to scan the list and check in on my buds. Yep! And you’re officialy linked now. Whee-hoo.

Lance and @ Betsy: Uh-oh, a fisticuff brewing here in Funsterland? Hey, take it outside, kids! :) I’ve got enough dead cheese and other assorted gunk here already. Oh, wait, my 3-legged goat likes old cheese. On second thought, bring on the cheeseballs!! Ole! (Miriam the XIV is an Hispanic goat.)

Congratulations Sir Lance Alot! I do not mind coming in third in this illustrious contest amongst such fervent funsters. And I must admit you do look a lot better than I would in that tiara! I have to imagine you in your mismatched socks, scarfing down cheesy cheetos and sipping Bud from a dixie cup. Considering the literal
thousands of entries for this competetion, I feel honored just being a finalist. Thanks Jannie for helping us to cope with the mundane, the profane, and all the great Danes of our days. Actually Hamlet was a great Dane, wasn’t he. Perhaps not as great as Tiny Tim, who blogs all the time on Palmers site, or at least seems to. I am a lot of things in this world, and in my life, but I am proud as punch to be a Funster. Perhaps one of us needs to make up a button that states that, and offer it free to the funsters. Course that could be expensive since funsters outnumber all sorts of other critters.

    Jannie,
Have I ever told you…I have a pink wig. And once went out in public wearing a dress, pink wig, pink flip flops, and lipstick (scary…it was!)(and my oldest son was mortified at the whole thing..). Do you know what? Lipstick is way hard to put on (do you ladies get degrees in how to do this???). The thing is – if I showed up at BlogHer like this…that might just be enough to cause the event organizers to never do this event again.
If I’m dressing like this, though – what are YOU doing that is equally as embarrassing? (and I’m not sure you can equal the embarrassment…)

(thinking to himself…I’ve revealed entirely too much information…)

Or one of those giant Rice Krispie squares they sell at select Starbucks. Hey, but weren’t there tens of thousands of contestants for the tagline title? :) A Funster-Lover buton of cyber persuasion may be just what the doctor ordered. How ’bout Clare Danes – such a peach. Whoa, rememeber Brokedown Palace, chilling.

Hey, Dot, I’m still trying to get over Tiny Tim’s demise. He and Joni Mitchell have been my biggest influences. Still in mourning for him. Will link ya up after I post this.

Lance, Pleese tell me that was on Haloween? But here’s an idea, signing up for BlogHer 2010 as Lancette and dressing like that will be sure to guarantee you AT A MINIMUM 1000 new faithful blog readers. You’d be the talk of the conference. I might go next year, I wonder where it is. [Oh, and see comment to John directly below.]

John: You are so right, I need to prepare myself for lawsuits, giving away such high dollar items such as these. Rmember that guy on Oprah who sued her for the taxes he owed on his FREE CAR? Lance, you’re not a litigious sort, are ya?

Ching ya: Dont worry, it was a party that went on here months ago, actually. But feel free to take part of this stress-free zone where a mini fest is ongoing. Well, I check my woes at the Funster portal to provide you with the ultimate in uplifting entertainment here. And of coure you are to be linked!

I’ll have to come back here this evening. I need to go wash my hair.

Tess: When are you coming over? Did you get new blue tights? The donuts are fine. Of course they are always fine here in Funsterland. And I’m making spaghetti for dinner – how ’bout that?!

Paige: How could I not link you up for life? :) ;) :)

Mark: You are welcome! They are sweeties, one and all on that blog list. Well, some are actually a bit ornery, but I won’t mention names :) and that’s what makes this blogging world such a fine place to hang out in.

Lance: My dad had a whole crowd fooled one Halloween at a dance, dressed in female disguise. Now Dad, at 5′6″ and maybe 140 lbs is far from a big guy, and rumor has it has a “nicely turned ankle.” He was so funny! he even had some of the neighborbood men fooled and apparently danced with them for hours until the mask came off. Ah, gee, wish I’d a been old enough to have gone to that dance. But I am old enough to see you at BlogHer all dolled up. Have fun in Sault St. Marie and don’t forget your nail polish! Maybelline I find to be the overall best.

Mama Z: Funny thing is, Lance beat you to that tagline, as I recall. No wonder it’s so excellent!

Weyrd1: And the finest of weeners they are. Not a dead schnitzel in the lot.

G: You’re welcome for “the fix” — I’m a dope pusher you know. :) You have a big family? I expect to see 150 (at least,) at my parents’ 50th anniversary in a few weeks.

Zeenat: I love Cheetos with beer or wine, a nice light supper any day. Do you? :)

Jessica: Luckliy I never get depressed for more than an hour or 3, depression must suck. Used to drink Diet Coke many years ago, that stuff is not healthy, you know, all full of chemicals. Chocolate, every day!

Glenn; I did eat Kelly’s Hersey bar a couple weeks ago, Im so bad. And I don’t even like Hershey’s chocolate. Was so desperate for a fix, tho. Couldn’t justify driving 7 miles in and 7 miles back for a stash of my newly-favored Lindt’s milk chocolate with wafers. OMG, I keep it in the freezer. That’s why I’m 125 lbs and not 115. But I look like I’m 124.9 lbs! :)

Sheila: The olde tagline fest was a blast. I kind of miss not seeing the new Monday one up there under my big eye each week. But now they are all there for eternity together. AH, brings a tear of joy.

Liara: La, la, la, la, la, la, la, la. La, la, la, la , la, la, la, la. Those are the La’s from Brian Wilson’s Good Vibrations. And the oooo’s in that. Oooo-oooo-oooo-oo. Oooo-ooo-ooo-ooo. Ah, that felt fun. Now I’ll Youtube that song and have fun listening as I do up my blogroll. I have exactly 1.5 hours to work on it before I go comb my hair.

    Now….. to work!

G: Yep, we back to conversating!! I was actually thinking of doing a post about the etiquette, logistics and practicality of continuing a blog comment conversation forever. And I was drinking water a short time ago. Thank goodness I had the sense to not be drinking it while reading this. The water would have gotten my keyboard all wet and then who would write my blog?! Whew! I never realized how dangerous a glass of water could be. That was a close one. Now I’ll know for future reference not to be eating or drinking while reading your blog!

Woo hoo! That’s awesome that you’ve been compiling a blogroll. Thank you for including mine. I know that’s quite a project to put such a list together when you have so many blogs that you follow. Yes, you spelled my blog name correctly. No typos to report on that for you to use as grist for future blog posts!
