Baby’s First Halloween

Cousin Alyssa, almost two years old. Kelly, 6 weeks old. In Canada.
Yep, 8 years ago Kelly was NOT digging the pumpkin suit. Actually, she wasn’t digging much at all at 6 weeks, except milk and sleep — almost every other moment she spent with her face like this. Poor baby.
Happy Halloween, all! Hope you don’t spend it crying!

Well, ain’t you all just the sweetest thangs known to man to leave such great comments here. Thank y’all so much.
LYNN!! Yes, I’d say by about her 3rd Halloween she was digging the whole adventure quite well. Especially the candy!
JEANNE!! She loved seeing that pic up here today, so glad I took it all those years ago.
HEATHER!! Why, thank you so much, Ma’am! And every time I look at those kids of yours I always think they are the cutest things I’ve seen in a long time.
YAYA!! YESSS, it’s a YAYA Orange Fest here today! You must love this time of year!
PAIGE!! As soon as she learned to crawl at 6 months she perked right up, was craving her independence from a right early age. Be safe today too.
MEGAN JOYGIRL!! Yeah, Mom and Dad still have that gorgeous sofa, luckily it seems to fit this time of year and that pic.
TALON!! Cute analogy! They iz kinda cute, ain’t they? Happy and fun Halloween to YOU too!
Now, must go check on Igor in the lab…

Oh I do remember those days…I had one who had to be attached to her dad or I 24/7…but she was quiet at most work meetings! People stopped noticing I was wearing a baby in a front pack!
I tell you how to be a hit at a Halloween Party. Have to make lots of food for a fundraising EBOOK for the pictures, they take all the food to a party and share, because it is just too much fresh food for 2 people to eat…I took 5 things last night and none of them finger foods – The Pumpkin Lasagna was gone in a flash…
Awesome picture and post…Kids make Halloween fun

The only thing that would have made that picture any cuter was if the jack-o-lantern on Kelly’s costume had a frowny face, sort of like a Comedy and Tragedy thing going on… too funny.
Happy Halloween to you too. I’ve been spending the last few weeks searching for a horror movie that actually scares me, and it hasn’t happened yet! Paranormal Activity came close, but didn’t do it for me. Hopefully I can make it happen tonight.

SHEILA!! I am sorry your day was gloomy, hope it’s looking up now?
PATRICIA!! Kelly was worn pretty-much 24-7 for her first year and I carried her on my hip until she was almost 3. Yes, kids really do make Halloween. And beer. I mean beer makes Halloween, not kids make beer.
TREY!! I Know What You Did last Summer. Freddy Kreuger. Pet Sematary. Arachnaphobia. Altered States. Those to me were pretty scary.
VERED!! Yes, those first 3 months were very very hard sometimes, but obviously worth it in retrospect. The sleep deprivation makes it all the more challenging.
EVITA!! Thanks, hope yours is a happy and the most evolved Halloween yet. Are you a fan of the season?
SUSAN!! I recall it was about a week before Halloween when I took that pic. We were heading back to the U.S. the next day. Alyssa kept moving farther and farther away from Kelly as she wasn’t too fond of her wails.

The photo is great. You can make Halloween cards with it next year. I’ll help you with what to write on the inside:
“Mom her pumpkin is bigger than mine.”
“Mom why did you have to eat all my candy.”

SNAGGLE!! That’s a pretty old pumpkin. Didn’t go rotten after 2.5 years? When we carved ours yesterday it was rotten inside, yuck. Bought it last week. Guess I shouldn’t-a left it out on the doorstep, as it’s been warm here.

There are so many fewer kids out and about in my small town on Halloween, afraid of terror treats and adult
pranksters perhaps. Most of the kids end up at the mall, or some kind of safe church gathering it seems. Melva got us on Skype now with our Apple, and we were able to video phone our oldest daughter and see our grandchildren, Ethan, 3, and Austin, almost 2, dressed up at Yodi and ObieOne; our daughter was the good white witch, and the son-in-law was a hillbilly hunter in bibbed overalls with his Red Ryder BB rifle. God, the hauls of candy we kids used to get, like twenty pounds in a tote sack; starting us all down the road of becoming adult diabetics. Of course Kelly started her public performing at 6 weeks old. She does look a lot cuter when she is not filling her diaper and turning on the waterworks though.

ROBBI!! Au contraire, my friend, the mere sighting of your name on my hallowed humble page is something of high note indeed!!
MILADYSA!! have you tricking treaters over there too??
MIA!! Yes, even Kelly laughs at it now, poor sweet angel baby.
J.D.!! Welcome back — hope your break was refreshing and delightful?! I’m pretty sure I remember being all tied up in a big bright orange snowsuit. And tha t5was only last year.
SNAG!! And I paid $6.99 for that sucker! oh well, at least I had gotten it early as last year I waited until the 30th and couldn’t get one unless I wanted to drive 45 minutes to the pumpkin farm. Yes, I wuz pulling your leg about the 2.5 year old pumpkin, but I’m sure you realized that?
GLENN!! I have not yet ventured into Skype (or underwired bras,) but them that like it like it a lot. How totally COOL you could use the teknologees to see the little ones.
