It looks like you captured the geese’s reaction right after they discovered the lack of food. Or maybe they were opening their mouths waiting for a treat? But yes, in any event, I can see how food figured into it.

That autumn lake looks so peaceful. I just closed my eyes to pretend I was there.

Those ducks look kind of angry!

I also checked all the boxes. I like all your posts, too!

Dear Dear beautiful Friends, your visits and words fill my heart with much gratitude.

I’ve been a bit blue of late. But enough of that! That will certainly keep. Or is most likely already passed. Yes, I believe so indeed.

Chris!! It was a lovely autumn morning. I was so excited about my new iPhone. The waterfowl were excited about me. But I disappointed them. I think I snapped this right about when they were still hopeful and approaching.

Talon!! A happy Ventines day to you too. I liked your poem. And today we both posted photos we took of duck, that was quite a cooincidence. That was the rest of wine that had been in the doll bed.

Lynn!! Well you are just so all-fired sweet and nice. I bet you say such nice things to all the inquiring Jannie’s you know. Don’t you?! :)

But I best scoot, Kelly needs to be getting to bed now!

Thank you all. Jingle, you rock!!! See you all later.

Jannie, the picture of the Austin hiking trail in late Autumn transported me right into the scene. I could smell the fallen leaves, feel the warm air (don’t tell me if it was chilly, though – I’m picturing warmth!), and imagine the day. I love it! And I needed it on this cold, gray winter day in western NY!

    Have a great Presidents Day!

    Hey Jannie,
You drank that whole bottle of wine??? What did you eat with it?? Did Kirsten and Peter get mad at all? Is Peter the one with the big nose? I wonder if my nose has ever been that orange? Kelly is missing her shoes! Does she know that? Maybe she was getting ready to take the Cutie’s for a dip in the lake??

You are a crazy and fun and sweet person (I wonder…do I qualify as “person”…or am I more “alien”??). So…I love ya, Jannie…even if you don’t throw food at me…

    Jannie,
You are going hiking on President’s day? To Mount Rushmore, yes?? Am I smart or what, guessing that so quickly! Are you impressed?? I wonder…if I were a child, would they call me a child prodigy after that?? I wonder what they (YOU, Jannie!) would call me today?

Happy hiking! May the sun shine brightly on your trail toward those four famous presidents. Unless you want shade…then may shade come your way.

How did you get to Mount Rushmore, anyway??? Plane? Train? Go kart? Bobsled?

Speaking of bobsled…it’s winter Olympic time! What is your best event, Jannie?? Is is figure skating? I figure skating is something you are pretty awesome at! (and I make myself laugh) (okay…the cat is starting to look at me all funny – so I guess I’ll have to be serious). When will you share a video of YOU doing the double lutz? And what is a lutz anyway? And are two better than one??

Now I’m confused. (this happens easily, as you can see).

Enjoy your hike at Mount Rushmore (or wherever you are….but I’m sure it IS Mount Rushmore!)

I thought I was a smarty pants cuz I checked every single box, but when I checked out the results, it appears that nearly every Funster feels the exact same way! This new “big photo” mode is excellent. And whatever camera you are using gets lots of wonderful
detail. So I am certain that you had a fun Valentine’s Day with Big Daddy Jim and the ever ready bunny Kelly. Probably Jim had to work on President’s Day, hoping to
snare some extra customers over to the car barn, enit?
Kelly and the Pooches is top dog pic pick, and that is followed by Kelly and the 1936 Ford. I have ordered my wife a tee shirt that says SHE WHO MUST BE OBEYED on the chest. Maybe you should get one too. It is from the PBS series BAILEY OF THE RUMPLE with Leo McKern.

And here I iz after a momentous President’s Day. One with a fricking migraine, yuck. I think 4 days without much of a mommmy break done did me in. Jannie does like her quiet quiet hours alone on a daily basis. (Just stating the facts, not whining, I hope.)

    Today is peaceful, tho.

Caity!! Thank you. Kirsten has been around a long time, since the 70s, I guess, but I’ve only known about her for a few short months. Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you on the other 4 pix. When you come to Austin, you and I shall sit on one of those benches!

J.D. !! Never heard of Public Enemies, and Jim hasn’t either, which surprises me, as anything with an old Ford in it he usually knows all about. Yes, we aim to please in deed here in Funsterland with on-going improvements.

Thomma Lyn!! Careful now, we all know YOU are the one who TRULY rocks!!! And guess what??? I’ve figured out how to adjust my margins and padding and such to now allow pix that are 700px wide, instead of these 670 — how CRAZY is that!?!? look for them in future posts.

Jingle! Jingle!! Jingle!! In retrospect I wish I hadn’t left those 2 dumb poems on your post about you not feeling good, I wish I had inquired more about you and wished you cheer on that. But what’s done is done. And NO — I never ever thought you were mean or rude for even a second. You’ve been a blog angel. And yes, isnt’ that 3rd photo just wonderful, amazingly dreamy!!?!? One of my very favorite spots on the trail. I ought to do 3 more for winter, spring and summer in that spot By golly — you’ve given me a great idea in that. Thanks!!!!!

Tammy!! You left your link this time! (I like when you do that – let’s me get in there and get right to your blog pronto.) Thanks you for appreciating my iPhone shots. Tho that camera-phone is a bit limited for indoors, and close-ups I find it does not a bad job of outdoor scenes in good lighting. Alsho I got kinda lucky on the Kirsten one here. And you rock, you know!?!?

Vered!! Yes, antique cars that have been restored can look as good as they did in the day. This is a great example of one.

Davina!! Those waterfowl, I must admit I kind of led them on, probably. I stood on the bank and called to them, so I’d get some close-ups shots. Did not take them but a few seconds to realize I was not their breakfast server, so they high-tailed it outta there.

Cookie!! I’ll AlWAYS share my wine. And you don’t even have to wallpaper! But if you could rinse and spin the lettuce, then wash out and dry the spinner and put it away, I’d be forever grateful!

Hilary!! There are 2 bottles of dry white wine in the house, Jim bought last month. I keep forgetting to chill them, so they sit on the counter by the toaster over, mostly out of view. I do love champagne best. Blue, yes I was a little blue. But I’m much better now, always glad when a temporary blue passes. We all get a little blue, as you say, even we funsters. Jeanne!! I linked to the post she wrote about her visit here — she says it all so eloquently you can read it there, and in the comments. We ate chicken with rice and cranberries. Then hotdogs the next visit!! Jeanne is a WONDERFUL WONDERFUL human being!!!!! Love to you too. Hope your mom and Hardwick are faring well today.

Natalia!! My chin hair is back — oh nooooooo!!! Just one tho, so it could be a lot worse. But to your comment… you like the car best! I will for sure tell Jim that. He has a couple of old ones, but not yet restored like the one above. But he has some Franklin Mints of a couple. When you come to Austin, we’ll go to the “Capital Model A’s” meet and drink some beer. Lots of beer!

Megan!! It WAS a warm morning indeed! November 7th, as I recall — so barely starting to get into fall in Austin. Shall we meet in that lovely spot, which should reach about 60 degrees today? How’ about May the 14th at 8:30 a.m.! Cool! I’ll bring the donuts. You get the beer?

Lance!! I did indeed drink that whole bottle of wine!!! And as I recall, it only took me 3 or 4 nights and days of working at it at a feverish pitch. Eight questions — Is Sven pleased with that? Or does he have a 10-question minimum? I hear that’s the new Olympic law. With the wine I ate sausage with raspberry jam. Kirsten and Peter were relieved, they both had hang-overs from the blueberry cordial. I dunno — HAS your nose ever been that orange? Yes, Kelly has lost her shoes in the great Walmart Kung Fu melee earlier that day. Im’ not sure if you are an alien, are you? Maybe more of an unidentified blogging “entitity,” flitting in your blogship around the world? I love ya too, Lance! More than you can know.

Tess!! Yes, Kelly’s knees!!!! I noticed that too, even before you mentioned it!!!!!!!!! Oh, for you to be on a trip(you ARE a trip,) and come and visit us all. I wanna do that too!! Me, Jim and Kelly wandering blissfully to meet all the peeps. Actually , I do think that WILL happen, maybe sooner than later.

Mia!! I absolutely completely wonderfully, for some unknown reason LOVE sharing my photos. What could that reason be? What is it in us that loves to share like that?? I just know I do, and will continue to do so, like forever.

Vikum!! Welcome back — you braved this place a second time!! Arent’ those # KIDS just the cutest ever. I had only just met the 2 puppies and they came right up and sat on my lap — so sweet, speaking great things about how loving their owners are. Have a nice day YOU too!!!

Jannie!! I think I’ll take a little break for some food now. (I’ll be back!)

    So… :)

John!! Did y’all have an extraordinarily great Valentimes’? We did pretty-much nothing. So sorry to hear about your geese childhood experience. Sounds like me and a horse, and no I’m still not ready to get back up on one again.

Chris!! The hike actually ended up being a trip to Chick Filet, then the bookstore as a dumb old headache just wouldn’t let me shake it. But today I am exercising my right to sit at this library computer and blog! Whoo-hoo!! I bet you still look great, and would no matter how much you weighed or how taut (or not) your abs were!

Nadia!! I’m so glad we still have maybe another 3 months of nice cool times until the heat hits. :) One does tire of winter, tho. Waiting for the birdies to sing and the green to come back everywhere. And they will! And it will! Before you now it, that’s for sure.

JEANNE!! And guess what?!?!? I’m not able to put in pix 700 px wide, instead of these measley 670px wide!! oooo, what shall I post next?? What indeed!?!? Jeanne!! You silly thing, most cars are older than you. And even the newer cars (and people,) I know will never ever be as young as you. I was blue. But it flew. And it better stay flown!

LANCE!! Well, as I mentioned above a bit of a headache told me not to go hiking after all. Have you been to Mount Rushmore? I’ve been to a small hill called Hill Slowmore. Lovely place! But if I did go to Mt Rushmore I’d go there by transcendental flotation on my invisible toboggan. I can skate fast, but not all fancy like. Grandma said a double lutz would get you by on a hot summer day, she always put some on our ice cream. And sprinkles! How is dear old Rufus? BB sends him (and YOU,) love! And yes, I’m always impressed with you.

Sami!! Wine and most anything works for me! Champagne’s my fave! And beer second. Then margaritas — frozen, no salt.

Paige!! So beloved is now forced to look at my blog pix too, poor him. Yes, you and Tess both noticed Kelly’s heart knees! Tell beloved when Jim gets his own old car fixed up he’ll go over there to your part of the world and take him n a spin he’ll never forget!! Okay???!!!

Snaggle!! Kirsten and Peter went hog wild with the tea.(Spiked with Aunt Rosie’s blueberry cordial.) You know, I am not 100% sure what those little poochies are, other than 100% cute and darling. Yeah, feeding your local geese against the rules?? I’m not 100% sure (again.) but I think the 2 white ones are swans. Can’t wait to get back down to the trail and take more pix, now that I figured out yesterday how go from this 670px to 700px wide — amazing! Sorry to hear they are working you so hard. (And I didnt’ get a letter out to you yet, but I’ve started! ) Thanks for voting! I know what you mean about typos taking so long to save up. I’ve got 19, so just one more! And need to take a photo of a masked potato. LOVE Olympic skating!!

Glenn!! That’s just my iPhone on those 5 pix. Seriously. As I mentioned above the iPhone does okay outside in good light. Bigger is better on those! Yep, Jim worked on President’s Day. Raking in the cash to keep us in Chick Filet coffees and library book fines. And Glenn-Meister — I’d get that tee for Kelly but she’s already got that saying tattooed on her forehead, invisibly, but smemhow everyone still gets the message.

Sheila!! Thanks. Spring is just a snowstorm or 5, and a few good days of melting away! That’s what the groundhog said!

Hi Jannie. I’m actually just here to advertise today. I’m participating in the Great Strides walk. It’s a fundraiser for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. CF is uncurable, and the the life expectancy is 37 years. My walk leader at the foundation told me that although they add a year to that almost every year, the said truth is 51% die before reaching that age. My nieces have CF. So I want to help CF mean Cure Found. For them, and for any one with CF. My blog for them is http://65rosesforsierraandmaddie.blogspot.com/. If you go there and click on the Great Strides picture it will take you to my donation page. I’m hoping, but advertising on your blog, I get a little closer to my goal.
    Thanks!

Oh, what a beautiful morning – oh what a beautiful day!!

Hi Fatiboni!! Those Town Lake fowl do actually get fed very very well. Plenty of moms come with their toddlers and bags of stale bread, to one spot especially. I plan to go there and hang out myself tomorrow. We are so lucky to live amongst this great natural beauty.

Sara!! Hi, I think those white swimming birds are actually swans. Typo and keyword posts coming soon, I promise!! I should start saving those word verifications, shouldn’t I!? I’ve seen some funny ones popping up, especially those 2 word captchas. Hilarious!!

Jingle!! I’m for sure going to check out your poetry rally one Thursday, maybe even this coming week. Write a poem. Sing a song. Isn’t poetry just The Best ever thing!?!? It can cut to the very heart and soul with just a few words, so quickly!

Momisodes!! Kelly and I laughed so hard one day. We were feeding the swans and some turtles tried to hone in on the food and the swans kept batting the turtles away!! One swan was actually ducking the turtles’ heads under water!! It was so funny.

Karyn!! That’s awesome that you’re trying to help raise money for CF!!! I am so sorry to hear about your nieces. I will definitely check out that Cure Found blog link you leave.

    xo

Okay, off to work a little bit on a Beauty-Cutie post I’m about to take out a yellow broom handle on.

    xoxo again

P.S. I admire people who can come right out and say they are sad or blue, I feel ashamed of my occasional blueness, I blame myself. And think “my adoring masses” :) need me always happy.

Anyhoo, have you heard me spouting that I’m now going from 670 wide pixels to a WHOLE 700 pixels wide on my pix!!

    So here, I go now.

    xoxo again! And 3 smileys…

    :) :) :)

    Jannie,
Sven has went back to the homeland – I think he was upset with me for some reason?? Anyway, I have a new QM (question mark) trainer – Stuart Little. He became quite famous after the mouse movie. I’m lucky to have him. He’s more laid back. I’m trying to talk him into a training routine in the winter being done in the Caribbean. I think he just may go for it. Umbrella drinks and question marks – does it get any better than that??

I think I AM part alien. I’m working at getting home. If there are ever any unidentified objects hovering above your lovely home…please let me know – it might just be the mothership…

I wonder if E.T. is a distant cousin???

I have been to Mount Rushmore…but not to Hill Slowmore. It was hot when we went to Rushmore. Slowmore sounds just my pace. Next time you go…call me!!

Double lutz on the ice cream! I’m requesting it next time we visit the local custard stand. Surely they will have it!!

Rufus sends his love to Blue Bunny (and to you). He bit me today…and then purred like a little kitten. He continues to find great thrill in this activity. I hope he’s not rabid…

    Jannie,

That first picture is just bizarre. Poor Kirsten need not be exposed to the alcohol just yet, right? I know you said she drank tea but… I am not sure she needs to be the one guarding the alcohol bottle. Don’t expect any affiliate sales ads from AG on your blog. ;) I don’t think they tend to combine AG dolls with wine bottles for their marketing. Just a hunch.

Kelly is so cute with the dogs. I went and visited Jeanne!

    Beautiful trail, neat car…

Did you know feeding ducks bread is supposed to be bad for them? Yeah. So, it may be a good thing you didn’t feed them.

Finally, I am sad to hear that you feel ashamed of your occasional blue times and that you blame yourself. No one can be happy all the time!! No one expects you to be always happy.

If you are blue, I think sharing it with your buddies is a great way to get a boost or lift when you need it! So, heck, let it all hang out.

Just because you’re The Funster does NOT mean that anyone expects you cheery all the time!! ;)

Lance!! I had a feeling Sven would flee some day. My mental telepathy just new, due to an incident with my old question mark counting trainer, Helmut. But a fine fine choice in Stuart Little indeed. I know him well, both in book and film. Are you having to retrofit your house for him, him being so little, and all?? Oooo, the Caribbean — that sounds great! The whole fam going or the training? Lance, if we see one more U.F.O here we will not be surprised — we’ve had motherships, and fatherships and cousinships hovering and abducting us for ice cream flavor testing for years — the double lutz flavor my grandma got from the little green men. BB love to rufus (and you) too, and karrit wishes.

Hello again, dear Jeanne!! You are so extra sweet to tune in for these wild posts — thanks! Yes, AG has actually banned me from thier site, and a rep came here to “speak” to me. How she found me — I’ll never know. I guess they do have “their ways” of getting info on peeps. Luckily she was a wine drinker and by her 3rd glass she had given me a $1000.000 gift certificate to any AG store anywhere, for as long as Kelly shall love. :) :) Shoot, are you serious about the bread for the ducks? I did not know that, sorry. People feed those ducks every day, they are kinda wild ones, so don’t get regular seed put out. You will have me Googling that. Blue, blue, I get it too. But I kicked it in the ass — and now it’s past! Thanks Jeanne, you are a really good friend. Sorry it took me so long to get to this comment, but you know I eventually do go through my posts on the Home page and see if there are any beautiful words I have missed, before the posts all slip forever into archives, boo hooooo. :) :) See you soon..

Kirsten and Peter look a little flushed. Are you sure they just had tea? ;-)

I have some sound card issues so I had to download a couple of your videos to listen to them. It’s great that you get to jam. Country / blues is cool.
