Recover Your Blog BEFORE It’s Hacked — With John Hoff’s Wordpress Defender

Imagine if you woke up tomorrow and your blog was gone. Totally gone. Forever.
How much would you pay to recover your site? $500.00? $1000.00? Thousands? A LOT more thousands?
I’d probably pay at least several hundred bucks to get all my precious bra-flinging tales and your wonderful comments back. And all the contact information contained within my blog — lost? Devastation.
Hey, don’t believe a malicious hacker would ever try to get into your blog? Think again. A site attacker does his evil deeds…
- Because he can.
- Because it’s there.
- Because it’s thrilling.
- Because it’s a challenge.
- Because he thinks it’s fun.
- Because he can brag about it.
- Because he’s training for bigger attacks.
- Because he doesn’t like you or what you stand for.
But blog invasion can be prevented in the first place!
Today one of our own, and a really good guy — John Hoff — is launching his “Wordpress Defender” Blog Security E-Book with its companion 1.5 hours of video on how to implement many of the security features. There’s even a bonus — an affiliate program through E-Junkie to earn “Wordpress Defender” owners a 40% commission. Cool, eh?!
John learned the hard way from his wife’s site vanishing that he never ever wanted himself or another person to go through the agony and the fury of a hacked site. So he poured his heart and soul into writing this 150 page book and producing the videos.
How would you feel if you could be 100% confident that no spammer or hacker could attack your blog – EVER? John Hoff’s “Wordpress Defender” blog security package will put your mind at ease.
“Wordpress Defender” gives you 30 security strategies you can implement today to fight back, defend and protect your blog from malicious hackers out to destroy what you worked so hard to build.
Some of you may already know John through his WP blog, or from his WP Blog Host site. Follow him on Twitter here. John is a good guy.
You can’t go wrong with his program.
What you’ll glean is GOLD. And easy to use. And at $39.00 it’s a gift.
Most of us put off blog security. I know I did. Don’t YOU put it off, PLEASE!!
Any questions you may have — I’m sure John will be happy to speak to directly in the comments.

BB is so innocent and sweet to even know that hackers even exist so I am definitely looking out for him all the time. Oh did you like my review?? I always feel I’ve never done these amazing authors justice, so your words fall on very appreciative ears!

@Hilary & Jannie – Now I’m all blushing. Thanks for the compliment. Maybe I should make that my avatar LOL
@Jeanne – You’re too funny, but I’ve done that before too (comment again when I see I’m the first to comment). It doesn’t happen all the time, but sometimes I get to take the gold.
Good idea to go back up your blog. Don’t forget, a full backup also includes your web hosting files, not just the database.

J.D. All kinds of wonderful work being brought to fruition by you creative and stick-to-it-’ve bloggers!! I am excited for your book too! I will review it when it comes out. Next review here will be for Betsy and Lori’s The Narcissist.
John!! I would like very much to see that as your avatar, but it is a personal choice, of course. And I do the same commenting thing as you and Jeanne!

Hi Jannie,
What a terrific review of John’s awesome book. I was laughing as I read Jeanne’s comment as that’s the first thing I did when I started reading John’s book. I downloaded the plugin he recommends and stopped everything I was doing to back up all of my blogs. Like you, I don’t want to lose what I’ve worked so hard on. Of course, there’s not bra flinging on my blog, but I do have that fabulous rap guest post you did.
I agree with the others. Your red background looks great.
P.S. Thank you for the link love.

Cool idea. I wish I had any idea how to back up my Blogger account. Although in the case of Blogger, I’m more worried about Google than hackers. (http://cinderbridge.blogspot.com/2010/02/google-vs-music-blogs.html)

My blog is set up on E-Blogger, which I think is a Yahoo set up. I am more worried about filling up the damned thing than someone stealing it. As if there were not enough things to worry about! Seriously, though, Jannie, most of us did not have a clue that hacker-buttholes out there are messing with memories, and fooling around with blog sites. Does it make any difference if you work off a Mac instead of a PC? Now I feel like a huge Spanish galleon loaded with treasure just waiting for some pirates to sink my ship and steal my gold.

Hey, hi-dee-ho, Peeps!!
John! What in the world would you possibly have to be critical about? Your photo?? That is a super-great picture!! But yes, we for sure are our own worse critics, I’m doing that a lot less, tho. And that’s a good good thing!
Barbara hey Barbara!
So good to see you here.
Glad you backed your blog up.
Then did you drink a beer?
But seriously, yes, blog security is something we definetely should do — like buying car or house insurance. Well, in those cases our lenders make sure we have our ins. in place, but — securing a blog brings peace of mind. And John’s book IS awesome, yes!!
Sean!! Cool, you can’t go wrong, in fact you can only go right getting this e-book and taking the little time to implement the strategies.
Hey Cinder! I have no idea how it works on Blogger, I have never heard of anyone losing their blogs there. Tho, sometimes the Blogger comments will temporarily go wild and misfire in some way, like eating comments, when the Google Gods are sparring, or something.
Oh, that link you left did not work for me.
Snaggle!! I am so in love with Wordpress. Sigh. Of course having been an idiot and blogged with my old site that did not have comments, I’ve always thought I’ve died and gone to heaven with Wordpress. And I love that there are so many cool plug-ins you can get for Wordpress. Oh, it was a peanut butter cookie I ate!!
Yo Glenn!! Great question about Mac vs PC, I do not know exactly, my guess is that it doesn’t matter. I understand that Macs are generally safer from viruses Maybe John will know more about that! Oh, yes those hacker-buttholes. As John states on his landing page… “Hackers don’t need a reason to want to crush your site and destroy files. They don’t care how much they hurt you and your family. They don’t care if they cost you time and money. They don’t care if you don’t have the money to start over and rebuild everything.” (a-holes.)
Take care y’all. I’m off to dance with the fairies now!

Debbie!! I’d climb through the computer to get to these guys and give them one good god-almighty talking to, these hackers. Not held enough in childhood, I guess??
Jeanne!! IT TOTALLY matches your gravatar!!! I’m gearing up for a little poem I’ll be posting tomorrow in the afternoon!! Good to see how much support he is getting. Most of it female I might add. LOL
His articles and videos a great sources of info and he puts lots into them.
He’s helped me in the past and taken the time to email me info for no charge.
One of the good guys who deserves to do well with his eBook.

@cinderkeys – I’m only vaguely familiar with the inner workings of a Blogger account, but I do know you have an option to export your posts (this needs to be done when people transfer their blogs from Blogger to WordPress).
It might be a good idea to do an export of your posts from time to time to make sure you have a backup of some kind.
@SnaggleTooth – First, love the nickname; second, love the term Blogido. I’ll remember that one!
@Glenn Buttkus – No, it doesn’t really matter if you have a PC or Mac. As far as your home computer goes, what you really need to have is a good Firewall and Antivirus. I use Avast, but any good one will do.
The problem is, it’s not just your computer that could let them have access to your blog, it could be any number of things. For example, if you use FTP at all, that could get hacked. It’s important to secure that connection as well as others.
@Mama Zen – if you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to ask.
@debbie – It’s a sore spot for me as well. They drive me nuts and I just don’t understand it. It’s not even something that runs through my mind. I guess not everyone has the same good ethics as people like us.
@Jeanne – Please be very careful when backing your blog up and leaving the backup on the server. I have found people’s backups online before (I even show a snapshot of one I found in the ebook – important parts blacked out of course).
I prefer to just keep the backups either on my computer or a separate storage disk. If you must keep backups online, I talk about security steps you should take in the ebook. Things like setting up redirects and denied access.
@Betsy – no, you’re awesome! Deal with it. hehe
@Keith – I never realized the woman support. Hey, I think I like this.
