Life Is Beautiful (a poem)
photo by: Jannie — May, 2006 (for those of you new here, mine’s the middle kid.)
Do you have fleas you can’t get rid of?
Nothing but bread crusts twice daily?
A board bed? One thin blanket?
Neither do I!! So let’s dance.
And write letters. And sing songs.
And fling our love to the stars!
(The alternate last line is, of course,
And fling our “bras” to the stars!)
Friday Flash 55 For The G-Man!

Jannie,
Ahem…I have no bras to fling toward the stars. And, hmmm, if I did, I wonder what the people of this world would think?!?!?
Are you sure you weren’t at one of those famous TX football games?? It seems Kelly thinks someone just scored a touchdown!
Or wait!! Maybe she is flinging her love toward the stars…
(I am pretty sure you were at that football game). I mean, they are dressed for it, and all. (well, that’s what I wear to football games here) (well…the ones early in the season, when it’s still warm out. That would be way too little clothing come November…)
My alternate last line:
And fling our bling to the stars!
Starry friend, you are Ms. Jannie!!!!!

Poetry, poems, poetics, wow, Jannie is on a roll, and not a bagel, and that’s the truth. Me too. Over on APPLEHOUSE I have gone mad, writing and submitting six long poems in three days. You inspired me to write the longer version of LET’S HEAR IT FOR GOLIATH, and even though it pales next to your mini-opus, I enjoyed creating it. Just when it appears that Kelly might have to be hospitalized for a terminal case of cuteness, badda bing along comes another Jannie photo, and the
cuteness meter is shoved even higher. 61 comments on your last post. What is your record, like over a 100?
The Funsters are an active bunch, aren’t we? Hope you read my version of GOLIATH and leave your unique response.
You got me pretty worked up with the bra flinging this morning. bb sez you are flashing yourself, and that your red sports bra is hanging off the ceiling fan. Izzat so?

Hi everyone .. if you’ve spare bras to fling to the fleas, or the cockroaches .. you could try the trains or the tubes – I supect the bras would run out first – and they might run away too ..
It is friday night . and it’s not been too good a week .. so a little bottle might do me some good .. but not the brown sort .. we’ll see – way to go yet. Have to find me some fleas .. and see where I left my bras when I chucked them all those years ago .. now they’re grey .. can you tie dye them?? I need to do some flinging it’s still cold here .. I’m off to get warm ..
yugh .. I’m on my way to Austin and BB cuddle .. have a great weekend .. byeeee xxoo

Cinderkeys, tears in my eyes at your compassionate response. Thank you for your kind heart.
Brian!! Hello again. Yes, I caught the Flash bus today indeed, and may well have caught the bug of it too!! I bet your wife is a beautiful

Hilary!! I think you could tye-dye bras and set yourself up as a millionairess! I’ve never seen tie-dyed ones, have you??
Adam!! Wait! Are you sure you have the right blog?? Me? Here? Writing well-crafted lines? Surely some force has taken over my brain??

Dot!! Just click on the line of copy, the link will take you to the G-Man himself!! (Oh, and pretty-much any day I don’t pee my pants, I put a gold star on my chart!)

Awww- the girls are so cute like blondie sisters…. but the first one is a bit late on the arms! I visited one of my friends balleyt classes once, n thought it was pure madness! Three age groups, a jammed packed full room, n groups out of sync twirling across the room…
I took dancing when I was 3. We did some jazz, the twist, n some square dance stuff for the recital. Then I danced folk n square stuff with a male (friend) partner when a teen. Used to love the folk festival trips!
Have fun on the 55 wagon!

. Yep, me ‘n my tricky color coordination! Or should I say “anal?
Jaymie!! That’s the best bra idea I’ve ever heard! And so poetically put. Thanks for the sunshine and rainbow umbrella.
Thomma Lyn!! You crack me up, woman! I wonder if any of the lady astronauts have left theirs up their orbiting?
Hey, Snag!! Not sure if I’ll be hopping this wagon each and every Friday, but you never know.
. I’ve seen multiple gymnastics classes in one room, but never ballet. I wonder how that works with the music?? Snag, is there anything artsy-stuff you have NOT done?
Farouk!! I had actually not written any poetry in years until I started this blog. I think the poetry is always there, waiting inside a poet – like you!
Thanks, Jingle!! Did you dance? Just hop up and do it, so great for the heart and soul!!
Susan!! By ALL means!!! Fling those cares and woes as far away as you can. And tell them to stay up there !
Oh my goodness, Shakira! Thanks for whatever it is for me — I will for sure be over there to fetch it!
