Here’s a bench I fell in love with… (photo by me: early october, 2009)
A_Bench_Im_In_love_with

And a post I fell in love with by The Mogul Mom about an hour ago…Tim Ferriss’s 3 Simple Blog Tips That Have Big Impact.

Mogul Mom quotes Tim, “Why should [your readers] subscribe to your blog posts, newsletter or free ebook? What do you offer them? Exclusive products? Advance notice of sales? Discounts? Free shipping? Fresh content they can’t find anywhere else?”

This so inspires me to revamp my Suscribe Page to reflect the WHY of subscribing here. And maybe you can help me with it!

Is “Ye Olde Jannie Funster Blog” subscription-worthy?  And if so, why??   Please share any ideas you have, however nutty they may seem.  Don’t be shy — just let them fly. We’re all friends here.

And whichever ideas I use from your comments, I will credit you for — and link you up FOREVER on my Subscribe page!

Whoo-hoo!!!

(I could use some help with my still-lame About Page too, but I guess that can wait for another day.)  :)

So…?

Be Sociable, Share!

I love your site for the fun and the laughter, but also because you share your “self” in all your wild and crazy glory:~) I like that I never really know what I will find when I visit; it makes it more exciting!

Sometimes you just know when a blogger has a magical touch and you want to subscribe to part of it…that’s why I think your blog is definitely “subscription worthy.”

    hey, Dudes and Dudettes!

Mia!! Lovely words, thank you. And I like your rhyme there with contain / refrain. Was that on purpose??

William!! Ahh, thanks so much. I like your page too! And when you come to Austin, I’ll take you to that spot!

Lynn!! I like that, thanks. Sure, subscribe if you wish, thanks. Sounds like you access the blogs you read in the same way I do. I guess the more subscribers one has, the more perks they can get, or something.

Vered!! Thans you. Great words to consider. Yes, I am quite familiar with Dooce and her blog-style. It is fun to get away to peoples’ blogs for a little break during the day.

Patricia!! Good words from you to consider too! Next post I bring thee laughs, okay? (At least I hope to.)

Sean!! Photos do go a long way to easing up the boredom factor, yes. Thank you.

Sara!! Ooooo, I really like some of your words! “Wild and crazy glory?” “never knowing what you will find.” I am liking those very much!!

Well, I’m off to eat some chicken now. It’s been in the fridge 3 days, but it should be fine, right? Well, if I don’t end up puking, you’ll see me back here in a couple – few hours. :)

As a matter of fact, I have a link on both of my blogs to yours ANNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNND I have you in my Google reader as well.

While I may not comment on a consistent basis, I do take the time to pop in, because after all, a day without Jannie, is simply a day without the two necessary viewpoints I get from Austin.

One simply doesn’t do it for me, so two viewpoints fulfill the minimum daily requirements that I get from imbibing the special version of “Austin City Limits”.

i really dont think there is a gimick to get people to follow you…at least not those that will engage your blog as opposed to just being a picture on your sidebar…a few thoughts: if you comment, they will comment. not all but your comments will increase. if you write to engage, people will stick around. those two things are what i have learned over the last 15 months…

OK, OK, I clicked on RSS Subscribe on your tool bar and it says that IF I click on the blue band, I can get Jannie’s posting/comments sent to “my computer” daily. Gosh, part of the joy of blogging for me is to get out there and open my Favorites Page, and start click/visiting. If everything came to me, I would feel once removed, less personally involved.

Ahhh, all cozy now here with coffee and a dog or two at my feet.

Dot!! Great comment, thanks. A good one to consider. Im a good hearted woman in love with a good hearte3d man! :)

Jingle!! heavenly photos — thanks!! And another award??? wow. I am just overflowing in award love here. I too, am more of a follow-back person than a subscriber, but apparently the big whigs say you can get perks and more ad revenue with higher subscriber count, so I might as well give it a shot. — Queen Jannie :)

G!! So, who is the other Austin person? Blue bunny?? :) Just kidding! I know it’s lovely Lisa of random tangents. She is such a wonderful person!!

Hey Adam!! is that you, from Lansing, MI?? Potential Google new site? Yep, if it werent raining here, I’d be on that bench now swilling coffee or beer.

Dorothy!! Welcome!! Well, we here in the Funsterment Global photography department do try to please! Grab some nature soul, girl! It’s always ther for the taking.

Mama Zen!! They are both foreign languages to me too, but it seems my trusty buddies here are helping me brush up from their Berlitz primers.

Betsy!! I like that!! “You’ll always wonder.” Should you or shouldn’t you have subscribed?? You’ll never know if you don’t. :)

Robin!! How sweet, my treat, your words of wisdom. And your loving points — how appreciated is them. Wisdom / is them?? A bit of a ryhme stretch there? :)

Fireblossom!! I like bitter… coffee, chocolate, beer, all that good stuff. :)

JANNIE!! And how sunshiney indeed you are today. Will you wash your hair today?? probably be a good move.

Brian!! Words of wisdom and very well put. If people like what you post, they will keep coming back. Comment on 100 blogs, and maybe only 5 will follow you home, but they will be true friends. And I like true friEnds!

Daisy, Daisy, give me your answer true. Oh you did!! :) I’m glad you find it friendly here! The Funsterment Global team worked long and hard to come up wiht just the right compbo of kick-ass and love. :)

Talon!! And my delight for your blog will never diminish either, you keep surprising me after these 18 months or so, and I know you’ll keep doing the same. How can you NOT — with your artist’s heart and eye. I am tahnkful I stumbled on you too. How sad it would be not to know you.

J.D. !! You KNOW you’re getting linked up to my revamped Subscribe page over some of those, Super-dude!!! Bravo!

Tess!! Ooooo, thanks. Gifted? Who me? I love your words, I think you’ll be linked up too!!

Sire!! Since my bra-flinging is usually done on moonlit winter nights while running through evergreen groves, and never closer than 200 feet of a camera, the boob flashing will most likely remain a misty murk of mystery. :) I do think you’ve left some link-worthy words, tho, thanks!!

Snaggle!!! As I mentioned above, I’m not much of a subscriber either, I follow people back from the comments left here. I do subscribe when folks ask me to. Te Big Bloggers like Darren Rowse and CopyBlogger seem to make it work well for them. Of course they know ALL the tricks of gaining a wider audience.

Dear Funster Glenn!! Most people subscribe to blogs in a Google reader (yes, the Google gods strike again.) And as subscriber readership grows, more first-time visitors will jump on the band-wagon as they figure if 1,000,000 already have, maybe it’s a good site to follow. For sweeties like you who visit daily, it would not really matter, but for people who might tend to “forget” about some blogs, subscriptions remind them — e-mail ones especially, which I once had and probably will set up again. Keep on doing, Dude, I like your method! It’s actually my method too — popping in on the blogs I like best. You old bra-flinging fan, you!

Suzen — “the old gal” lol!! You are one of the youngest sweet spirits I know! Any visit from you is a highlight in my day, so you just keep on getting over here when you can. I will put back in an e-mail subscription thing. (Still learning as I go.) I love YOUR blog too of course, always funny. Always more than entertaining. Your uniqueness shines!! “Regularity” is a good thing indeed! Im a big fan of it daily myself. :) :) :)
