Yay! My brain finally caught up with my heart on these give-aways, so I’m changing things up a bit today!!

(Drum-roll please!)

Firstly, I am lumping ALL remaining gifts into this ONE post, and will announce the winners in a new post Saturday. (Maybe Sunday, if I start jumping off the roof into the azaelas again.)

Secondly, it feels weird making you come back to re-comment for my cds and Billy Collins poetry, when you have already left such touching words. So… Lovely Peeps, for my 5 remaining cds on offer and for the 4 remaining Billy Collins… I will be considering all new comments that come in on those, plus all the wonderful comments you already left that have not yet “won.”  Even comments on the Donut Hole Post that launched this whole escapade! Such sweet words!

I’m going to showcase today’s final 12 prizes in a minute, but first let me recap all the give-away winners so far…

Monday’s winners, based on their wonderful comments were…
SuZen — my cd.
Fireblossom — Billy Collins’ “The Apple That Astonished Paris.”
Gina – “Blogging For Dummies.”
Toni Cross — the Marilyn Monroe notecards.

And (another drumroll please) I will now reveal yesterday’s winners, based on their persuasive comments…
Snaggletooth — “Inner Productivity”
SuZen — “Twitter For Dummies”
Glenn –  Billy Collins’ “Questions About Angels”
Daisy –  my cd (that one was hard to call.)

Congrats to all so far.  Now, on with more give-aways!! 12 things to gift commenters with in this post.  Specifically….

1. one of my “I Need A Man” cds!
2. another of my “I Need A Man” cds!!
3. another of my “I Need A Man” cds!!!
4. another of my “I Need A Man” cds!!!!
5. another of my “I Need A Man” cds!!!!!

6.  Billy Collins’ “Nine Horses.” Who wants it? And why?

(”Ballistics” is a hard-cover.)

9.  How about “Singing For Dummies?” Come on — you know you want it!!  Why should I send it to YOU??

(whoops, there seems to be a little rip in one corner of the back cover.  sorry ’bout that, mates)

10.  Or maybe “The Complete Idiot’s Guide To Singing” is more your style??  Who wants it??

11.  Oh, wait!  I see another Billy Collins here… Who wants “Sailing Alone Around The Room?”

collins_sailing_front

(Shoot, I do have another Billy Collins book, which I cannot find.  That’ll have to wait for a future give-away.)

12.  Oh, the very first picture in this post – me in my lucky blue hat in my bathroom mirror, holding up a Tori Amos book to photograph with my iPhone? That book is on offer here today too.

Here’s the front of it…

tori-amos_guitar

But folks, I gotta tell ya… Jeanne may already have won the Tori Amos for her amazing comment on my Monday post – unless someone comes along and tops her!? Is any of you more of a Tori fan than Jeanne??  And if so, can you convince me enough to win the book?

Ahhhh, this is great!! So much fun.

And my Deep Songwriting Week is going so awesomely!!!

I miss all your blogs, of course.  Like crazy!  It’s been 3 whole days since I’ve allowed myself to read any.  I’m so jonesing to read and comment — but I must soldier on with my song-focus plan.

I bet you’ll see me out and about in the blogosphere this weekend!    :)

Happy St. Pat’s

    Jeanne said,

    Jannie,

HAHAHAHAHA! I was so excited to:

    a) comment about Tori
    b) be 1st commenter

… that I left that a comment without even having read the whole post. I mean… Seriously, I had to comment immediately when I saw your face next to Tori’s, right? (Love the hat)!!

Now, to cement my lead on the Tori Amos prize… Did I mention that meditating to Tori Amos CDs once resulted in my blood pressure dropping from dangerously high (2 docs were pushing me to go to the ER but I have seen the inside of enough ERs that it wasn’t sounding like a good plan) to near-normal? Yes, Tori-assisted meditation is a wonder of nature!

Did I mention that I listened to Tori CDs to/from work throughout my pregnancy (daily) and that my daughter is now a musical genius (so says her mother) who started piano lessons at age 4 and is currently working on playing the Tori song Winter from the Tori Amos Anthology you gave me? She was magnetically drawn to pianos as a BABY!

Did I mention that whatever mother-bias I may have about my daughter’s musical abilities (I am convinced she heard Tori in utero) does not explain the comments I have heard from her piano teacher, her flute teacher, and her “regular” music teacher at school? Or that she loves her piano, organ, and electronic keyboard mounted on a rack atop the organ so that she can reach all 3 keyboards at once?

Did I mention that she now has so many musical instruments that I have lost count on how many she has?

OK. That should lock up my Tori prize. If anyone comes up behind me at the finish line, you just let me know and there’s more where that came from.

Now, at the risk of appearing greedy, I’ll leave short & sweet comments re: other prizes.

    You ready?

    1) The more Jannie CDs, the better. As stated previously, I have mine but I could share them with my blog readers who have not been blessed with your musical genius yet.

    2) Billy Collins: How could I not be intrigued by anything you rave so much about?

    3) No singing book in the world will transform my voice (that sends the local wildlife scurrying away) into anything pleasant. I began lip-syncing in 3rd grade in chorus.

    More about Tori!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

LOL! It’s so nice to know I am in the lead, Jannie. Must be that kick ass comment I left previously. ;)

Happy Deep Songwriting Week & Happy St. Patrick’s Day!!

    Hi Jannie.
You’re immersed in song this week and all revved up! :-) I bet you’re having a super time. I’m still after one of Billy Collins’ books. “Sailing Alone Around the Room” appeals to me for no reason other than from reading the bits on the back. “A brilliant comic sally…a wonderful, sly and moving collection”. That is a magnetic statement. I wonder how many books it sold?

PS. I was just thinking that since I already have one of your CDs you might pass on my comment; unless I’m the only one who speaks for this one of course…

    Hi Jannie!
I’m positively wound up – torqued actually – that I won TWO things! YAY! You are helping me break the spell of the Turkey raffle! It’s been 40 years! I couldn’t ask for more!

Wait a minute. Yes I can! The Horses poetry book! Firstly I can imagine painting one of the horses on the cover in an abstract – secondly the poetry would, no doubt, be a wonderful companion for my up and coming beach days the lst wk in April. (Couldn’t say as much for the Drowning one! haha)
Thirdly, I had a horse, Silver, back in the day, that I adored and the cover of this book reminds me of him in the most nostalgic and loving way.

Keep singing sweetie! Kudos to you for your dedication and focus. Is there a pill for that?

So I am thinking I should get one of the singing books. I have always wanted to be comfortable singing around others. I just have a song in my heart. Anyway, when I was a kid my mom took me to singing lessons. The woman actually told my mom I should try out for a humming part in the school play. Just wrong. I figure since I am going to sing anyway why not work in some improvement? :-) But those other gifts look mighty fine also!

I AM having fun, but it does gets a little tedious going through all the files on my digital recorder and carefully listening to each one. They are filled with me singing bits in the car, on the Trail, and God only knows where else — often with more than one song per file, and some of them like.. 12 minutes long. But at least I have them! Grateful. I’ve made a Word file for each tune, and am type potential lyrics into them. Then delete recording snippet.

Have I put you to sleep yet??

Jeanne!!! Awesome to see you, Miss Tori fan. I just loved hearing the additional tidbits of yours about your sweetie and her music! I’d say your lead is quite well comented, Woman!! :) :)

Davina!! Im so immersed in song this week!! Just the wonderful focus I needed to get all my; song files organized. A very magnetic comment of yours, yes! Sailing Alone Around The Room — ain’t it amazingly great to think of that phrase? See you soon! :)

Snaggle!! Yeah, I’ve been thinking of you with these early postings. :) Wow — how di you do that bold think at the end?? You know stuff, I can tell! Songwriting going very happy today. Those horses look a bit like the gravatar you made in Paint.

Gina!! Yes, I am so happy to mail to New Zealand! I actually had a penpal for a while in Wellington. We lost touch. Yes, I had a great nose-to-the0songwriting stone today — looking forward to more progress tomorrow. I find songwriting gets easier, the more I do it.

Cinderkeys!! I actually know the answer to that.
(I think.) Onloy males have a falsetto. But that’s all I know. Singing, eh?? I think you sing just super-fine. I know I was still learning as I recorded I Need A Man.

TherapyDoc!! I’ve been on the moon. By way of Orion and Ursa Major. And here. I am so honored you came to Fusnterland. I LOVE your writing. I’ll see you over there soon!

Paige!! I still can’t ive I am giving away all my favorite poetry books! But time to spread the love. And I think I feel a lot better sending them out to the world. Hmmn, will Paige get a Billy Collins??? I will have to tally up all your comments Friday night. :)

SuZen!! Beach days coming very soon for you! Is there a pill to get focused? Or unfocused? :) Hmmmn, another poetry lover! What shall Jannie do… Decisions, decisions!

Mama Z!! I am kicking ass well on these new songs, I think. Thanks for popping by!

Daisy!! Life is so good to me, I must pass the love and cds along!! :)

Jannie! Jannie! Meet Me On The Moon Tonight.

Talon!! Thanks for your sweet visit! I actually find spotlights to be a pain. So bright in your eyes. And you can’t see the audience. Silly!!

Jaymie!! Ahhh, you would like a singing book. Let’s see if that can be arranged. ;) How nice of your mom to give you singing lessons. Nice mom! See you soon.

K!! Thanks — I am so happy with my progress these past 2 days. A nice little jump-start on my new tunes.

    Jannie!

    Sean. Cool! You do reviews??

Weryd1!! Wow, you again! ;) Comment duly noted and taken under my wing.

Thomma Lyn! I was Just thinkikng about you driving in the car tonight, thinking about a line in a new song about planting a garden and watching it grow!! Thinking of you doing your writing thing too!

Seems like you had mentioned that it was not really necessary to come on daily and beg for the prizes we want; that you will review all the peep’s responses and comments from the whole week, but somehow it bugs me to be reading all the bitchin comments of the Funsters, including the latest addition, Gina from New Zealand, and not see my own hand dog mug there on the sidebar, and in the commenting column. BB is not napping under the bed, I notice, he is flaunting his new Andy Warhol look, and jammering away, talking with his mouth full of carrot bites per usual. I just noticed that the Funster Management are poor spellers for sure. On the comment fill in bars, it says…Website–staring with http// is “apprectaied”–whatever the hell that means?
But then BB is so very charming and dynamic and unique, and we must remember that English is a second language, folling rabbitspeak, kind of Watershippese dialect, enit? So pleeezze put me there somewhere on the Billy Collins MIGHTCOULDGET Book list, although it is so very cool seeing the lucky peeps that do win some of your treasures. Sort of odd to be divesting yourself of so many wonderful things, but then you have a heart as big as Ontario.

I will notify when I pick the winners here in a comment, and by personal e-mail.) A CD, eh???? Hmmmnnnnnnnnnnnn. I’ll consider that! ;)

GLENN!! You DID win the Billy Collins book on this post… http://www.janniefunster.com/2010/03/16/twitter-for-dummies-a-poem-plus-more-free-stuff/ I loved the poetry of your response. If this has become a little confusing, please forgive. And trust me. I know what I’m doing. Kinda. :) Simply put, for the my cds and poetry books not yet assigned to winners, I am considering all comments on them since I started this fiasco. :) Great to see your hand-dog gravatar! Keep it coming here! :) Glenn, I am not divesting, I am releasing positive energy to bring the earth’s core love vibration up! They say give away what you’d most like to have!! I am pulling an L.Cohen and attempting to travel a lit lighter in things, but heavier in love. You know he’s always “yearned so much for nothing to touch.” (He’s “always been greedy that way.”)

Michael, my Dear Michael far across the ocean, and quite a few fields,I do not know of Ben Webster, at least I do not think I do.

There is no “my” time to steal. There is only time to share with the whole universe.

Yes, just call me Enchanting Jannie. :) :) Enchanting was Mom’s second choice for my middle name, but in the end she went with Sue.

I cannot imagine the heartbreak of losing a child. So sorry for your incredible loss.

Tea is a pretty name. I bet she is the light of your life.

    xoxo
