A Songwriter’s Wednesday

Friends, Song Stuff | Posted by Jannie on 14 April 2010 @ 3:31 PM 39 Comments

Firstly…  (photo by me, last week.)  Left to right are KitKat — almost 3 years old, Sweety — almost 5 years old, and Peach — almost 12.5 years old.  We acquired these buddies when they were all 6 weeks old, respectively.

They certainly are friendly enough with each other, but all 3 lying together is a rare occasion!

Apologies for a 404 error here yesterday. I’d acidentally published a post, then had to snag it back. Some of you were so sweet to e-mail and let me know — thanks!! (Yes, I’ve actually checked and READ my e-mail lately!! Amazing, for me!)

Do you people have any idea how much your loving support and friendship on this blog means to me??!!??  But how could you?  I’m talking infinity, Babies!! Infinity for my love and appreciation for you all.

All about My Wednesday coming right up!  But first a “werd” from my trusty “bloging manigir.”

BB_Warhol thanks yoo, my jannie.  and thanks yoo for kleering the 044 mistree up. yoo beet me to it.

jannie_avatar You’re totally welcome, BB!

BB_Warhol butt, my jannie!!  yor big eye iz so smal today.  wate!  i wil get yor big one, becauze i lerned mor teknologees resintlee.  here i goes…

big_my_jannie_gravatar Oh , cool!!  THANKS, BB, you’re sweet.

BB_Warhol glad to hellp, my jannie.  now on wit the shows!

big_my_jannie_gravatar But first another new picture!  Also from last week.

Kitty really asleep, The Child only pretending — probably at my direction, but I can’t remember back that far in life. The Child WILL remember, tho.  She forgets very little.

They are both a couple of loves, that’s for sure, that child and that kitty.

REALLY back to our regularly-scheduled post…

Last year Thursday was my delectably selfishly fun “Takin’ Care Of The Jannie” day.

This year my long day is Wednesday, when Kelly stays for afterschool until 5:30, instead of the usual 3:00.

And what does Jannie do on her long day all to herself? Well…

“Fluffing up” pictures for blog posts.

Reading your blogs and /or smiling at each of you in my heart when I think about you — which is like  — 20 times a day for each and every wonderful one of you!

Speaking of thinking — did you hear we have 60,000 separate thoughts a DAY!!  Cool eh. I’m assuming that’s over a 24-hour period, ’cause the brain never stops.

BB_Warhol that is so troo, my jannie!  we dreems at nite.  liek, last nite i was bak in kidnergartin wit my frends, drinking karrit koolade and twirling on the wirlygig in my yelow pants.

big_my_jannie_gravatar Sounds like fun, BB!!

But back to this extremely non-rambling blog post. :)

No! How ’bout another photo next!!

Hmn, which one??  How ’bout this one…

June, 2007 at our community pool. I found it yesterday while looking for a Kelly-Erika picture for the “Miracle Roses” post I’m conjuring up. Even tho Jim’s eyes are partially closed it’s such a sweet daddy-daughter moment.

So, what else does Jannie do on a fun long Wednesday at home?

Thinks about housework – but usually only in passing.

Oh, speaking of — guess what!? I did ALL my dishes on Sunday!!  Yes, even the big salad bowl and the salmon pan with all that baked on skin!!

On Wednesdays I also do a little dreaming.

Some dancing.

Take the dogs for a stroll (but after sunscreen, to protect my fairness!  I’m so vain — I probably think this post is about me.)  :)

Work on new songs, with my 3 furry helpers cheering me on.  Today I had a great session on “Meet Me On The Moon Tonight.”   I think!

I take a bath.

I wash my hair or not, depending on what my major life plans are.

Today I paid the water and electric bills!!

And had fun creating packages for two Loving Internet Peeps. Mailing those tomorrow. With EXTRA love and hand-written notes!!  Oh — actually I’ve THREE to mail tomorrow!

So… that’s about it for me so far today.

Wait — one last pic, which I have no clue yet what it will be.

And what are YOU doing today??

Ahhh, THIS picture, yes!!  Remember all my give-aways a few weeks back??  These were the final parcels I mailed out last week. Took this pic in my minivan outside the P.O.

Oh, and wasn’t it cool I had the Marilyn Monroe stamps in my collection for Poet Toni Cross who won the Marilyn notecards!?!

I WILL be having more give-aways.  Still have some poetry books left.  And tons other lovingly-used Happy Life Stuff.

Anybody have any cool ideas for give-away contests? Please feel free to shoot any ideas my way!!

Willam, who has crossed the ocean to be here — welcome again! I am truly humbled and honored at your ongoing visits, thank you. Glad you could partake in and enjoy this visual feast. :)

Adam, who has alighted on a poem and a prayer, welcome back! We just had a Funsterment Global board meeting last night, all 12 of us from around the world and we all agree we’ll be stepping up the number of pictures. And Funsterment. :) Actually – that “sofa” is a wicker loveseat we bought at a yardsale 17 years or so ago.

Talon, who has alighted on monarch wings, always a joy to see you here. Kelly gave up naps on her second birthday. No way has she napped in the day for years, except a couple of times on the way home from camping trips on Sundays. Yay, on a clean salmon pan — it was clean for cooking the pork chops last night. :)

Brian, whos gravatra looks a lot like a certain blue bunny I’ve seen around here, welcome, as always. I like that picture too (obviusly, else I wouldn’t’ve put it in here.) Not sick of my songs yet? :) :)

Lynn, of spring blossoms, welcome my lady. Will be sorry to disappoint you when the Miracle Roses post goes up, as the Final Living Room is not yet any further along than when I showed it. But the front entryway is coming gangbusters!! :) And next Jim is going to pretty-up the front of the lean-to shed beside the garage.

Laura, who has floated in on wings of jazz and sun-dapple leaves, welcome back. :) And you know how up there I said this…” Reading your blogs and /or smiling at each of you in my heart when I think about you — which is like – 20 times a day for each and every wonderful person who pops in here!” You are one high on that list!! And I hope you know that?!

    ooodles of toodles.

Lovely Anne of the wide open ranges, good morning. Well, I must admit I have dabbled in “downlifting” posts but they never seemed to be quite as well received as these more uplifting kind, so I’m sticking with this plan. I wish you a restful peaceful day too — EVERY day!

Lovely Vered of the rose-gardened California, yes, so sweet, her little hand on his chest like that. They both love the pool, that’s for sure! Laundry — always there. Just so glad we don’t have to beat it on river rocks, or even use those old ringer washers of olde!

Steve of the fiscally conservative common sense, hello! I see you’re still holding up the torch to free up the economy to do what it does best — taking care of itself, rather than have government “step in” to fix things. Why doesn’t EVERYBODY get that?? It’s plain as pie on a plate to a lot of us. Always great to see you!

Sweet Daisy, who has melted from the snowy mountains to bring the spring here, welcome back! Yes, those 2 pics are so great. We just love that cat to death. Well, we love the dogs too, of course, but that Kitty has got us wrapped around his sweet little fluffy fingers. He’s such a character!

Emmanuel who has alighted from the shining stars to this page. Hi! Are you a poet? I get a lot of new pals visiting from Jingle’s wonderful world. We had to give up a pet once, a bunny who had taken to running at and biting The Child. We cried so much when he went because he was really a nice little guy a lot of the time.

Vikum, my Vikum from across the lovely world — I wonder if I could do a post that did not entail some manner of fun? Hmn,let me think… Hmn. Nope! It’s not quite in the funsterment rule book. Gotta be something fun each time — and always with BIG PICTURES! That’s in section 27, paragraph nine of the book. You have a great day too — wonderful Vikum!!

Snaggle, my one robed in ocean sunset wonder, welcome back once again to these humble pages. It was so funny to me they were all snuggled like that. I’ll often see 2 of them together — but all 3? This was a first! And Kitty mostly sleeps in the closet in the day. Kitty and Sweety are very close buds, and play and tumble every day. OMG, I’m laffing out loud — 6 months for the card to come back to you. What the heck?? Where was that puppy all these months? :) Glad to hear about your good day off, and your computer work. Do you notice a big difference with it now?

G who has tumbled across the Connecticut fields to visit all the funsters — welcome again my fine friend. I actually chopped this from over 900 words to 755! ramble, ramble, ramble. The long and winding post. Is Connecticut a Native American name?

Well, that’s that for that, I do believe. For now, anyway.

Wow and wowzer, that makes you the Queen of Rambleness for sure–one of the most delectable and upbeat bits of posting nonsense and Jannie magic I have ever experienced. Oddly, like Snaggletooth, I had a US Mail Funster reminder on Tuesday–that Christmas card I sent to the Funsters was finally “Returned to Sender”, attsa’ me. But now after being nailed the Billy Collins book, you were sweet enough to provide an actual abode data, and perhaps next Yuletide you will actually receive a card for the Northwest. But back to this fun fun funster posting. I love the fact that you just kind of riff and ramble and have the trust in we Funsters that we will dig it regardless, cuz it is from our Leader in Fun, or leaders–Jannie & BB. The pics are fabulous, still adjusting to the King Sizeness of them. Jim & Kelly in the pool puts a :) on old faces, and young ones too. The pooch/kitty triumvirate is way cool, cute, cuddly, and absolutely indicated. Funsterville has to have its mascots! Shots of the Funster prizes heading out to the hinterlands is fun beyond fun, demonstrating the earth mother songbird ex-Canadian Texan charm once more. I had the smiling Jannie prize photo that came with the Collins prize book sitting on my desk one day, and my wife, Melva, asked me who the “blond cutie” was that was sending me her photo? When I showed her that yes, she was blond, was cute, but was from Texas, and that her love gift was mostly platonic, she accepted my affection being partially send so far away to the wilds of Funsterland. I thought it was great. Melva is still thinking about it…no, she is fine with it, and loves Kelly and daddy Jim and BB and the pooches and the kitty too. Who wouldn’t? Who couldn’t?

Hmmmm … what a cowinky-dink …just yesterday I was wondering how many thoughts we think in a day and I remember hearing the number. I’m not sure how big a thought needs to be, but I played out one way somebody might have come up with the number …
    – 1 thought per second
    – 60 thoughts per minute
    – 3,600 thoughts per hour
    – 57,600 thoughts in a day (16 hours awake)

… they must be thinking with flash cards :)

I keep my mind free-floating for large chunks of the day and I limit my “think time.” I’m not sure how many thoughts I think a day, but I only try to catch the meaningful ones and I’m happy the rest are fleeting :)

So far we’ver raised $27.95, and two used motorcycle helmets that might work great if retrofitted for space!!j

Yes, BB is so cute in those yellow pants, he usually wears them with his turquoise and pink hawaiin shirt, and his neon green flip-flops! Hugs to YOU too!!

J.D. Of insightful giant shoulder towerment — get out!! You were NOT thinking that yesterday?! Seriously? Was it your blog I might have read it on a few weeks ago about the 60,000 thoughts? Somewhere. Interesting to think of all those synapse firings, working like Swiss clocks. Amazing! Oh, and today I think I successfully kept my mind very limited on thinking, good to do that once in a while!

That is suh a ncie thought, us stripped down to our core of lightness and being. Families and relationships of love, simple moments in harmonious simple times.

See what I meant on my comment over at your blog about me intending to post 1 pic with 30 words — but ended up with 4 pix and over 700 words! What will I ever do with me??? Dear Jannie,

Sounds like a wonderful day. I love your vibrancy and uniqueness. Packages are sure fun to wrap especially if they are being given to someone. Makes the sharing even more special. I tend to give gifts to people quite often, and as a surprise too. Latetly have posted some raw chocolate bars to my partner, without any artifical flavours, sugar or milk and he sure was surprised as he’s cutting down on all the add-ons and he loves chocolate so what a wonderful combination. :)

I have also been penpalling with two people whom I have just been sending lots of messages with on Facebook. We met quite a while back on a writing website, actually most of the friends I have are off that writers website. Well anyway I have been sending them my own handmade envelopes out of a nature recycled calendar and that is just so me, and to send that to them is very special.

With giveaways to make it that extra bit special it is good to connect the giveway with what your site is about, and the message that you are trying to reach to others through your website. My first giveaway was when I hit 100 posts and I knew I felt something special coming along, and spontenaously I felt to do a celebration giveaway at that precise moment that I hit the 100th post. No plans or anything, I just happened to find a website that makes handmade soaps in the UK and to mark human crafts I decided to order a bulk of their special soaps (not just any ordinary soaps-imagine cake and flower and bomb looking soaps) If you visit http://expressiveworld.com/a-sweet-share/ you’ll see the random heart warming giveaway and a link to the selection process, winner and even winners comment upon receiving the gift. YEY! I also thought, (well not extensively) that I would enjoy making the winner something myself to show how much I value handmade crafts and the value of human potential in action through creation. I very much enjoyed doing a giveaway because I love giving to others quite in a big way and it makes me happy to give something which is craftly created, or anything else for that matter. Giving in whatever form is always a treasure.

I ended up creating a painting especially for the giveaway and making a box, and alongside that the soaps were as an added bonus and it was quite a big box of soaps as it tied in with how much I valued the readers on my site, their visits, participation, and celebrating the blogs 100th post.

Now for the next giveaway I have ideas before the giveaway and I am going to make it tie in with the messages I have been sharing and the pictures. Something created by me, something expressive world related and something positive, alongside another celebration treat that ties in with the blog hitting 200th posts and my gratefulness for all the readers. That’s a hint, but will no more mention. It’s always good to let it develop on it’s own and wait and see. I don’t want to get too excited for now, but I know it is going to be exciting and I shall wait patiently until i get there. Hope that helps in some way. :)

The “XP Antispyware 2010” malware has somehow crept into my system and won’t let me into any programme or internet page, as it brainwashes you to think your computer is full of viruses and that you need to purchase it immediatetly. This is a con. I have been going into the system manually to see if I can delete the files associated with it, but somehow they aren’t on there or try and restore the computer to at least 3 days before it was working fine. That is not seeming to work neither and I have done that twice in safe mode.

I have been using my fathers laptop to access the Internet and find resolutions to this malware, so I will keep at it for a while until I resolve it or the IT Technician may come round. (This is why I’ve not posted yesterdays post on expressive world-as ive not had access to my laptop and using my fathers one on minimal use.)

That is all that has been happening, upon being interested in the Iceland volcanoe and the dust that it has blown into the North of Europe and the airports all being closed for the while. Mainly interested in the volcanic eruption and the dust. Interesting news. :)

Anyway have a lovely day! I am enjoying getting to know you. See I have written a letter to you. :)

P.S-Where do you go to put messages just above your comment box? As I see them now, and I think they are brilliant. Just a touch of you and very sincere. :)

Kitkat looks a lot like Goldy! Our eldest cat who died during Christmas last year. :) He is around in various pictures on Expressive World.

I love your furry helpers! And Kelly’s pose is great, with the sleeping kitty. And here’s my new favorite Blue Bunny quote: “butt, my jannie!!” 😉

Such adorable pictures Jannie. Snuggling with cat :-) I’d be sneezing like crazy and rubbing itchy eyes in 5 minutes — darn allergies. I’m loving Billy Collins’ book of poetry — a LOT! Thanks.
