Our property is almost downtown and we are backed up to the Park of the Capital building and Capital Lake....which is the mud flats emptying into Puget Sound...and if you go upstream you end up starting at a Glacier on Mt. Rainier.

We are right on the path to the ocean for all the animals...we are missing our eagles and birds of prey for the balancing act....so it is truly our fault for being in the path of the critters.

The roses started way to early with our dry warm winter and now it is winter weather - too wet and too cold...roses should not be this far alone...thus the mildew...

Patricia, I am sorry to hear of yoru mildew. Do you get that every year? Wow, I am surprised to hear of all your fauna. Does your property back up to a greenbelt?

My rose bushes are covered in mildew this year - I am a bit envious of your lovely bright blooms and low maintenance! And all my models are gone away...though biking architect got one cutie pie in her pink biking gear last week!

Deer oh my! possums, squirrels, rabbits, coyotes...my garden is their farmer's market...9 deer troupe through in the early morning...I have not seen them yet this spring - too much rain for everyone....I wonder how many new babies this year? 4 fawns last year...they love the apples

My Dearest Thomma Lyn, hello sunshine! Beautiful friend from the mountains too. Your wonderful whimsied comment created some fun imagery in my mind. I hope there are only golden eggs -- and no giants up on that cloud. Well, only friendsly giants up there, that is. Ummn, strawberry rhubarb pie, will you be conjuring up some of that??

Dearest Keith, hello from the worst mom in the world. :) Ahhh, so maybe I am am the proud owner of a well-bread disease resistant rose? That could be very very true. Before I planted them I read so many nightmare stories about the varied possible demises of roses, I was pretty pessimistic. O, me of little faith. Yes, I think your England has cornered the market on gorgeous gardens.

Sheila, my lovely Sheila, I like your giving attitude towards the deer!! I remember the photos of yours -- tons of deer indeed. Must be lovely up your way!
