Zilker Botanical Garden — Austin, Texas (Part 2)
On the bridge in the Japanese Garden.
On a stepping stone in time.
In the magical bamboo forest.

Grows a rose so sweet and fine.
This child of stardust dreaming,
This one so young and free,
This gift of an angel daughter,
Is the same kind of wacky as me.
Enjoy Part One of this two-part garden bonanza, with 7 more pictures.
(and again, these are all iPhone 3GS photos.)

Dearest Lynn from the magical forest… there comes a time, a bit of rhyme, can be sublime on this blog of mine.
Dearest Talon from the flurried forests, magic flows from unexpected places, like bamboo lands and childrens’ faces.
Dearest Dustus from the poetry woods, an enjoyable stay on a springtime day, was a feast for the eyes. Then we ate pies!! Yummy.
Dearest Suzicate from the Big Mama mountain, if ever you come’round to fair Austin town, we shall sip our tea beside a pittosporum tree.
Dearest Jingle from the ocean afar, thanks for the heart touch — it’s really too much. YOU are the best, and now I will rest.
Dearest Sheila from the wild valley — you got the stuff! That’s some post office love! You mail arrives early, does it Girly?
Apologies for the rymes. Today I am soooo sleepy.
Soooo sleepy.
Good night, at 1:42 p.m.

Over here in Singapore, we have the Singapore Botanical Garden and inside this public park, there is a National Orchid Garden. The last time I was there about a year ago, I was only armed with my camera handphone. I totally enjoyed my walk in the orchid garden seeing the wide variety of orchids which are one of my favorite flowers.

Gardens can create magic, idyllic moments in the city, on the roof, behind the garage, through the metal gate, beyond the white fence–but the real magic seems to happen as you and Kelly wander the corners of Austin, and explore the wrinkles of your imagination. Kelly will be a creative and confident child and young woman who will always cherish those mother/daughter adventures. Blogger of the Year, plus Mother of the Decade…those awards just keep coming! By the way I posted your poem over on FFTR, and here it is again:

I borrowed one of your sterling images to illustrate it. Your ability to take a corner of a park, a bench, a tree, a pond, and a child, and create this whole wonderful world, this fun landscape for we followers is nothing short of amazing. Keep it coming, Jannie. What the world needs now is more Funster!!

Hi Jannie,
I’ve been visiting family in MI and on Thursday heading to friends in FL. So I’ve been absent here in Funsterville. Love the photos of Kelly and nature. Especially the bamboo…my very favorite due to the story and how it takes five years to see any visible growth after planting the seeds.
Kelly is a Texas top model…don’t know if you know that yet or not!

Hello Friends!!
Dear Brian, yes, the gardens always sweep me magically away, any time of year. But not so much in the rain.
Dear William, hi and thanks! She tolerates my constant photo snapping, I think, that sweet little one.
Dear Patricia, yes, I found your Japanese garden most lovely indeed. I would LOVE living in your area. I think I’ll move to your street, aactually!
Dear Caity, and your comment is beautiful, as usual. I just realized the last 4 of my 5 posts have been of flowers. I think I’ll change things up for my next post.
Hi Monkey Man, who I am sure is a dear too. Thanks for popping in. There is not much to dislike about our Austin. Except the hot hot hot hot summers.
Dear Daisy, that Kelly, she is a character.
I find the bamboo forest quite other worldy. Once it’s planted it pretty-much takes over.
Dear Teahouseblossom, I swear she’s grown too!! She is actually very petite for her age, but sprouting up, outgrowing her clothes. my baby!
Dear BK — orchids always amaze me, so rare, so fragile, so beautiful and to me — mysterious. I did Google your Botanic Gardens! Wow. I’d LOVE to take that in.
Dear Glenn, the wrinkles of my imagination and I welcome you and thank you for your comment. “Zilker Sprite” now THAT is a cute title!! I will have to pop over and see which picture you used.
Ahhh, thanks for such touching words, I feel even more warmly fuzzy than ever now.
Dear Tess, I hope you are enjoying your 2 weeks’ vacation. Wish I were with you!! Thanks so mcuh for popping by. You are awesome!!!
Yes, I remember that bamboo detail, pretty amazing what Mother Nature does.
Dear Anne, ahhhh. YOU are pretty-much a wonder yourself, you know?? you chicken farming nature girl. These are beautiful moments, the ones of her childhood. I am so grateful to capture a few and share with you all wonderful wonderful human beings.

Dearest Lovely Zen of Motherhood, why thank you. And may I say you’ve got quite the doll if your own! Which I think you might know already?
Dearest Lovely Davina H, sometimes I go a-wandering in the bamboo forest after midnight, and so far have ways returned. The fish! I think they have been there for 29 years- the same ones!
Dearest Lovely (And Talented,) J.D. so great to see your insightful countenance in our midst again.
As always, wonderful to have your timely timeless input.
Dearest LovelyWonderful Chris!! Your youngest one sounds as caring and kind as his mama. I’m glad you out his mind at ease. I’d hate to think my blog made little children worry.
Oh, and thanks, she is a photogenic one. And far cuter than I ever hoped to be!
