Jannie Gets Bold
Friends, Song Stuff | Posted by Jannie on 7 May 2010 @ 9:47 AM 42 Comments
Just how bold is Jannie getting? You’ll have to check it out here, on one of my favorite blogs in the universe.
And see?! I CAN actually post a single picture here on my blog without it leading to 17 pictures and 1200 words! Who knew?
xoxo
But wait! A photo editd in for Hilary, to hopefully better show the chainsawed hole in the decking around the tree. Here…
And Hilary, when you mouse over and read what I’ve named this photo, just think of it as a swimming grotto fed by natural cool springs, with hanging golden pothos ivy, bounganvillea and that bridal wreath plant draped ’round.
Okay?
Someplace warm and not too far from a sandy beach.
A respite for midnight dips, with champagne and hollandaise breakfasts.
Followed by a morning of strolls in shady parks, lunch in the shaded piazza, and an afternoon passed whispering to 600–to 1200 year-old art.
Art that whispers, sings, and smiles back.
xoxo
And one more, Hilary!

Hey, right on top of things, old Glenn; unless I too get mucho verbose, and some other Funster beats to the commentor punch. Tess, over on THE BOLD LIFE did a Boffo interview with the princess of mirth, ladies and germs. For many of us who have been in the Funster Fold for over a year now, some of the shared secret stuff has already been revealed here in Funsterville, but how nice to hear it all again. Sort of reminds me of reading interviews with one’s favorite celebrity–you already kind of know what she will say, but it is ticklish kick in the junk to read it all again, and you know that as a fan, you are in a very special club and strata. Congrats on the interview. Thank you, Tess, for featuring Miss Jannie Bananannie as your playmate of the day!

Yo Glenn!! Sorry to bore you with the same old stuff.
I promise I’ll get some new schtick together soon.
Yo Talon!! Thanks a big bunch. And why IS there a permanent press setting on an iron??
Yo Vered! Thanks! Kelly took that photo a couple years ago on our back deck.
Yo William!! Ahhhh, thanks! I felt like a star that day!
Yo Mama Zen!!
I did go where no Jannie had gone before, didn’t I??
Yo Sheila!! Ahhh, so sweet of you to link that post. Yes, that arm pic before the cast gets a gasp out of all who see it. She printed it out for show-n-share at school. She is doing great, thanks. Well, I mean considering. She’ll be in a cast probably until early July. Yeah, your wellness blog is pretty. And happy. And well.
Yo Passadena!! I know — I astounded myself by poasting such a bare-bones offering as this.
Yo Jingle!! Hey, you remind me to go look fo rthe picture I want to scan at the library for Mothers’s day!! THANKS xoxo Ahhh, and thanks for the second comment too!!!
Yo Daisy!! Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, thanks. And most of my success is in having beautiful friends like YOU!! And how ’bout a smiley face for you??
Yo Tony, Tony, Tony — the Funstamentalist.
You crack me UP!! Have you ALWAYS been this funny??
Yo Snaggle!! A big pink envelope arrived here yesterday!! I think I was singing something with a D or a DM7. Maybe Rosie’s Song? Hearts & Bones? Or just hamming it up for Kelly’s camera?
Yo Hilary!! You rocked in the comment at Tess’! And here where the photo is bigger, as opposed to the smaller version of it over at Tess’, one can see the chainsawed hole better.

Thanks, sweet Dustus! let’s see — it took 45 years for me to release the first one. Let’s say the second one, full-length, will be unleashed on the suspecting world in 2012 — making it only 3 years to release the second one! A bit of a quicker turn-over!

Hilary!!! NO WAY!! Do you mean 35 steps in all? Or 19 total?
Ahh, but a lovely trek for exercise. Oh!! I did 22 buttock lifts on each side after I edited in those photos. (Really haven’t done any in weeks.) But it’s all good.
Yes, George is the man who comes to rake our leaves.
Oh, cold?? I would so LOVE it!!! Yesterday here it was 98, I believe. But today is a blessed 78 or so — big beautiful difference. Summer is coming and there is nothing I can do. Just brace for it, and I guess switch modes mentally , physically, spiritually. And? Do those 3 cover it??
Now, Hilary no trees were harmed in the creation of this post. The ones used for decking I planted the trees in, were a bit harmed when felled. But I’ve told them sorry, and planted 12 trees or so here since.
What do you study in your study?
Wait? What?? What kind of pix will you be posting??? Please DO tell, I’m all piqued here now.
Hilary — we always need vino.
Shouldst I go crank a small champers here at 12:54? Hmmn, possibly not quite yet.

Hi Jannie .. YES _ WAY TO GO … 35 steps in all if I wish to go to bed & don’t stop half way! The ceilings downstairs are quite high 11’ 6”, not so high in the study & not so high in the attic – on the landing there’s a ‘grain window’ .. where they used to store the grain & load and unload it – I think .. can’t think of another reason for the window .. but I love it – gives extra light.
Yes –I should run up and down a few times every 3 or 4 hours or so .. usually I’m dashing out .. & yes –I must get exercising a lot before the summer disappears .. wot summer? Still cold – so you’re welcome .. 78 is better than 98 I agree .. frying and melting at 98!!
A raking man .. co –eer .. Jim’s kind to you – or himself?! Glad to hear there is no creature or tree harming going on in Austin .. 12 new ones – what sort .. do they thrive in the heat? For the heat – switch modes .. I know I’d add melt to your list of three, which is intellectually inspired .. melting heat sounds more like it to me .. been there & it’s a bit much .. I don’t think my skin is as fair as yours .. no wonder you have to keep outa those beating rays – Kelly too ..
Study – is a term for a room where we work .. ie my computer, some of my books – I wander up and downstairs for those too .. my letter writing, papers etc – so theoretically the rest of the house is uncluttered – and I need to get it that way after having Mum’s hospital stuff around, and some of Derek’s .. mostly letter writing & room decorating bits.
Pix .. well perhaps some of the house interior – showing the pics on the wall – 80+ of them .. some small – sentimental etc .. got to wait for the sun to come out – to take some …. and now we’re covered in ash cloud again ..
Another coffee now .. way too early for champers .. did you get some – now you’re not Mum’s taxi any more for a week or two .. Hope you were sitting on the cat .. from your cozy bunny munched leather .. BB must have been hungry .. he probably needs carrot champers …
Must away .. xoxo .. down 19 stairs & up again .. Hils .. need to wake up a bit more …

Dear Hilary!! 35 — ahh, how wonderful. Your place sounds SO neat!! High ceilings downstairs! A grain window!! Maybe another reason for that window was to pur hot water on the enemy?
Just checked the olde iPhone — 79 today + overcast, and 93 tomorrow — definitely taking Kelly to a nice park after school today. The Umlauf Sculpture gardens it will be! lovely, lovely place!! Here’s a link… http://www.umlaufsculpture.org/ Yep, 12 trees — 2 live oaks, 7 crepe myrtles and the rest palms. Acually MORE than 12, as I think I’ve put in 6 palms. Did have champagne Saturday night. Ash cloud, that must be very very weird. SOmetimes we get a lot of smoke from grass fires in Mexico if the wind is blowing just right.
Dear Jingle, your comment back to me made me laugh and laugh!! HAPPY DAYS always with my sweet blogging buddies in my life. And I am not surprised it takes you DAYS — you work so hard.

Hi Jannie .. yup 35 to get to bed! Rise the sky .. the ash cloud we can’t see for two reasons .. one we have a covering of very cold grey-black brooding cloud above us (normal cloud I presume!), and the ashes from Iceland are 33,000 feet precisely higher than my stepped bedroom!!
That statue park looks brilliant .. and what a great place to visit and walk round gathering inspiration, or taking the little one to entertain her .. more posing – met arm at right-angles!
Great about the trees .. and glad to hear you’re pampering yourself after your recent shock! Little kiddos .. enjoy the week & the visit to the Park – 93 tomorrow .. if it reached 60 I’d be grateful!! Cheers to my spirit & yours .. Hils

Hey Hills!! So glad I checked their site — Umlauf is closed Mon. and Tues~!
I took the most gorgeous pix of her at umlauf on when she was 4. So grateful I recovered them in one of the computer crashes.
Well, where to take an energetic child (most of them ARE energetic,) with a broken arm, so she can get in a little exercise, but not too much exercise? Maybe the Science & Nature center if she stays out of the water areas — even the dinosaur sand pit — sand in cast, not good. So that pretty-much leaves looking at the caged animals and walking around a bit.
Botanical gardens again? Maybe, if she’s up for it. I do like it there, and it has lots of shade.
Blanton Museum? That’s a cool place. Maybe.
Austin Museum of Art — LaGuna Gloria, would be nice. They have a bit of grounds there, I think.
Both the latters, preferably on cheap day. Have to check the sites. Hey, why pay $5 entrance, when you can pay $1 ???
The Mall? Agony for me.
The Children’s Museum? Maybe, just went there on Friday. Or was it actually Thursday? It’s a relatively safe place, but best with a little friend along.
Library? Computer? Nope, save that hour for later at home, when Dad and I watch something.
Rock Climbing gym? Playscape? Water? Nope! Nope!! Nope!!!
Wild Basin Preserve? Nice idea but too much rocky terrain for a one-arm gal.
Movie? Will have to check the listings again, see if they’ve changed any up since yesterday.
Maybe to Chuy’s for a snack.
Oyster Landing?
Commons Ford Ranch?
I wish I were in NY, or London. Life is NEVER EVER dull there. Nice and cool temps too.
Bois de Boulougne? Dream on, Jannie.
Anyway, I ‘way digress.
Still think an outdoor park will be best. Somewhere very shaded, with level ground. Wish me luck!
But wait… what about the Elizabet Ney Marble sculpture mueum followed by The Upper Crust Bakery?? Good idea!!
Hmmn, maybe Camp Mabry — never been there. Yeah maybe so!! Just make sure to bring sunscreen!! By george (the leaf guy,)
I think I may be catching onto to a few possible ideas for after-school fun.
Kelly does love to be out and about.
xo
P.S. If it reached 60 — I’d be grateful!!
over and out!!!

oh yes- we have an old government, without a Prime Minister – he decided to visit the Queen and resign .. without a replacement – not politically correct! .. life is interesting ..
bye for now .. crumbs what a lot of places to take ze child .. to exercise her littl’ pins .. Austin sounds interesting .. I hate Malls!
