Three American Girl Dolls

God has sent us two angels.
They live just a few streets over, instead of 5, 9, 34 and 2900 miles away respectively, as Kelly’s other good friends.

We’d like to adopt these angel twins, but methinks their mom and brothers might protest too much. And I wouldn’t blame them — they are very sweet girls!

School got out yesterday!
It’s gonna be a great summer.
There’s magic afoot. And ahand!

When I was a kid I chummed all summmer long with 2 girls – Linda and Melody.
Did you run wild with special buddies too?
xoxoxoxo

P.S. I’m going back to bed. Those girls had a sleep-over last night and kept me up until after midnight. Of course my eyes popped open at 6:00 as usual, and now I can’t keep them open but for a minute longer to hit “Publish” on this.
Responding to the remaining comments on my last post will have to keep for a bit!
I’m gonna do some of this…

See you later!

Good Morning Jannie,
What gorgeous ladies. (including the dolls)
My mother has kept all my porcelain dolls in a special display cupboard as she finds them precious, even to this day they are in that same cupboard. I was never allowed to play with them as a child, as I would massacre them. (I was a tomboy you see) My favorite toys were cars and marbles, and I had a train set which got worn out.
That is brilliant that school is out. How many weeks does that make it till new term?
Here in the UK, the children have just finished being off from their weekly half term, and have another 6 weeks to go before the summer holidays kick in.
Hope you and Kelly have a great summer.

Good gravy, girl! A house chock full of angels, Jim down at the Car Barn bringing home the bacon, and you popping back neath the warm covers. Life can certainly be sweet there in Funsterville. You’ve making the blogging rounds again, and I, for one, love to see your blue eye pop up in the comments; and of course when you get too busy, it is fun to have blue bunny stop by. BB, you are nice not to eat all the daisies, and to show some of them off for us. Odd for children how we are so very socialized as youngsters. Girls are taught to respond to their mothering nature, and little boys play with trucks, cars, cap pistols, and sling shots. I am not going to say boys have more fun, but we had more toys that later became big boy toys that we could buy at Jim’s.

Hi Jannie
Gorgeous, absolutely gorgeous.
You must be very proud.
As soon as I read “There’s magic afoot. And ahand!” I thought of the classic line from the Goon Show…
“When my shoes blew up, I knew something was afoot.”
Keep an eye on your shoes jannie.

Hey cuties!!
Can you believe I never did get back to sleep, as planned? Jim rose for the day just as I was about to post this, so really — how can I sleep when that handsome devil is in the room and awake??
Ahh, there will be sleep tonight. And perhaps even an adequate amount! Children are asking for a “double” sleep-over. I may consider, if they promise lights out tonight by 11:00.
Good afternoon, Dear Ana! Yes, those 3 are cute, cute, cute. And the children are too.
I was kind of a tomboy too! I like how these American Girl dolls are of plastic heads, arms and legs, with cloth bodies — nice and “playable.” Had I a porcelain doll I’m sure I’d have broken it within 5 minutes.
I never had a trainset.
But I did have lovely sticks and rocks to frolic with.
Okay — brace yourself… Our school has 11 consecutive weeks off. Yes, we do it a little different than in the U.K. Pretty wild, eh? My understanding is you have not as many summer weeks off as in North America, but you do have longer breaks at Easter and such than we? We have only a 3-day Easter weekend, and in Canada a 4-day one.
Good afternoon, Betsy! Always so sweet of you to pop in here, when I still have not ambled my way over to your blog. Yes, I already feel a pulling away with her growing up. In a couple months she’ll be NINE — and already halfway to leaving. But since she plans on staying with us — I can work with that plan!
Good afternoon, Jingle! Thanks for another double visit — whoo-hoo. How’d I get so lucky? Yes, I think the poses the children thought up are so clever and cute!
They are very creative.
Good afternoon, Paige! And what, pray tell, kind of dolls do you have? Do you have 3? Are they by American Girl? Barbies? Brats? I never did lay down to nap. But I did sfo 1/12 of the sink of dishes, drink coffee and stare the moles on my arms, tho not in that particular order.
Good afternoon, Alice Audrey! Lovely you had some good pals. I rmember palling wish Linda and Melody too during the school year, mostly Linda actually. But oh, we had such wild summer times. Chasing bears and squirrels a lot. Chopping down trees.
Good afternoon, Glenn. You always make me smile. yep, send Jim off to teh car barn, send teh kids out to the tree house, and spend my days here computing and eating cookies, with milk. BB’s gone on a search now for wild roses. Hope he finds him some!!
Good afternoon, Talon! And may I say it was a very very bright spot in my week comunicating with you today! Thanks for allowing me to sing for you!! (As if you had any choice, right!) Yes, 3 American Girls — the chilcren, and 3 American Girls, the doll brand. They all sure make a sweet little six-pack.
Good afternoon, Jeanne! I wonder if AG scans daily blog post titles. I wonder if there is some way of keeping abreast of posts with AG’s name in it? Probably some Google thing does that — I would not be surprised at all! Yes, so cute indeed!! And guess what?? I spent about 5 hours yesterday getting kids’ books ready to sell on eBay to buy my new camera with!! Yep! I got off my bittocks and on with my cash raising plan. The girls were so funny — they came up with that fountain idea! And the idea of having the 3 dolls leaning back by themselves, then creating themselves in a similar pose! That was last week, the same day they rescued Kelly from the tree house bed!!
Oh yeah — loving BB with his new bouquet, and if you click this post you get a super-extra-big daisy explosion!!… http://www.janniefunster.com/2010/05/31/reunited-and-it-felt-so-good/
Good afternoon Keith!! When my shoes blew up I knew something was afoot. The Goon Show, The Goon Show — that is ringing a very faint gong. Eric Idle and his bunch was it? You’re gonna make me Google!! And hey, I’m going barefoot today. Is that a good or a bad thing??
Good afternoon Brian of the graveyard moonlight songwriting sessions. I AM SO GLAD SCHOOL’S OVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It hasn’t quite hit me yet, but it could any minute!!
And I’ll cheer for you guys on Wednesday! Here, let me give you a cheer in advance… WHOOO-HOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

When I was growing, my Father taught at a University most summers so we could see the country and Canada. Summers were family time. My kids did Kids at Play and Kids at Koncert every summer and got to sing at Disneyland and in Japan and then two just liked free time for swimming going to the beach.
We often went to Grandmother’s house in the desert and to help with apricot harvest. Never a dull moment.
Librarian girl has all the American Girl Dolls – she has lots of the “things” too including Kirsten’s dress in her size when she was about 11. She stopped collecting after Addy I think and when she wanted to spend her money on college and travel
Great pictures and how nice to have such cuties close…loved the slumbering picture – they did sleep

Hey, J.D. Take a shaggy dog on a walk around a block on a warm late afternoon, and they’re nothing but photgenic smiles!
Hey Davina, I bet the horses loved running with YOU too!
I had a squirrel as a best friend, of course. I named him Alexandar Pamplemousse!
Hey, Snaggletooth… here’s a story of a mom named funster who was running ’round with three very lovely girls…
Fave Little Ones would be a dream to hang out with then give them back to their mammas.
Hey, Trisha, you are so sweet to be a regular commenter now. Thanks!! I hope you are enjoying blogging? It’s so nice now that Kelly is getting older — the toddler friendship playdates were so much work for me!!
Hey, Lynn, an all doll day — I like that. I was not sure whether to call this American Doll Girls, American Girl Dolls, Dolls With Dolls, or what. And the cuttent watermelon post title totally eluded me. Hopefully you guys have come up with something good for that.
Hey Jan! That’s it — from dawn until after dusk, running everywhere. And just 10 mre days until that cast comes off! Then we’ll fill up her little pool and that will be a whole other bunch of summer fun.
Hey Fireblossom. I do wish Kelly would start smiling more in pictures, she’s gogin through some phase. The older girls are 10, and admitting they don’t let on to anyone at school they still play with AG dolls. I’m sorry you suddenly had to stop playing with Colleen. It’s not fair that parents suddenly forbid something without explaining why.
Hey, Chris — your childhood neighborhood sounds like mine, tons of kids to run with. Kelly does not live close to her school, and since 80% of the kids there live within 2 miles of the school, it’s been a challenge. So finding these 2 girls is an amazing blessing!
Hey Sweet Caity — I have soooooo been thinking about you but you’ve gone and beat me to a blg visit again. Ahhh, you had Molly, how sweet. I don’t quite understand the whole AG rage, but those girls sure do like them — a lot! Do you still have yours?
Hey Patricia — what a wonderful summer life you led! And gave to your daughters, Disneyland! Wow! Did you go to Japan with them? I do wish we could take a trip this summer far away — Europe. Apricot harvest sounds very nice. Will Librarian Girl keep her dolls for her own children some day?
Hey Luisa, maybe I’m getting to give the kind of childhood I wished I’d had, the “cool mom” who could handle a host of kiddos for meals and sleep-overs and going on firefly hunts and such. Such lovely words of yours, thanks.
Hey Sweet Suzen — yep A/C! Doesn’t take much to cool it. Yes, these American Girl Dolls seem quite the rage indeed with the 7 to 11 year old set. Barbie having lost her luster for Kelly more than 2 years ago. And now awesome dad bought the watermelon patio furniture, as per the post after this. And I can actually fit into the little chairs!!
Hey Hils — did you go to Spain for holiday?? I know so many English people do. Or Turkey. Yes, 10 days from today for Kelly’s cast to come off!!! On Thursday the 17th. And she and her friends will fill up the pool that day and have a party. It’s just a little pool, but deep enough to swim in and get exercise. Yes, Kelly going for a serious look these days in many photos, much to my chagrin.
Hey Tony.
You surface yet??
Hey again, Hils! Pancakes were delish!! Whole wheat with little milk choclate chips in them. Wonderful! And I guess you have yet to see the watermelon post — thus these little pips will make mroe sense.
