A fourth summer angel sashayed into our midst yesterday!

(She also co-starred here and here.)

Also yesterday, one super-awesome dad decked the deck out in this surprise furniture. 3 little chairs, umbrella with stand, and white wooden table from Lowe’s — $45 total.  (One more angel seat needed.)

And just who could that super-awesome dad be?  Hmnnn, I wonder…?

watermelon3_2010.

Watermelon umbrella with watermelon snack — how perfect!

Even the broken arm kid’s cast is kinda watermelon colored. Thanks, broken arm kid!  Color details make this blog the frolic it is.

And broken arm kid?  Thanks for being born — this blog post would’ve never appeared if you hadn’t.

watermelon4_2010

But wait!  What about the super-awesome dad? Who could he be?

This guy?

Awesome_Watermelon_treehouse

Yeah, that’s him!  The guy who built the tree house for the broken-arm angel two years ago.

Let’s zoom in on this handsome dad…

Awesome_Watermelon_treehouse_zom

Ahh, so cute!

What a guy!!!

He pretty-much rocks.  And deserves a slice of watermelon.  Or two.  Or three!  Heck, that man deserves a whole watermelon patch all to himself!  A huge field of it!  With a ride-on garden railroad running through so he can survey his melon dominion without ever having to leave the comfort of his engine car seat.

(View the tree house interior here.)

watermelon2_2010

Ummm watermelon!

Ummm summer!

Ummm life and love.

I likes this!  I likes it A LOT!!!

watermelon5_2010

You had any watermelon lately?  Or ridden on a garden railroad?

And seriously, what title would you give this post?

With love and funsterment from Jannie,

    Dear Jannie,

What a wonderful surprise! That is such a kind thought, straight from the heart from your husband.

I love watermelon and interestingly enough I had some last night, a different sort, a bright orange one from Spain. It was very sweet, and tasted similar to a mango, but much more sweeter. I made a smoothie from it this morning.
I include a photograph for you to see what it looks like.

I also received the beautiful soap from Sheila Burke over at Aventine Hill Bath Emporium which I won, on the giveaway that I entered displayed on your site. :)

How about watermelon delightious for a title? Adding to the new grammar and love of watermelon.

Have a wonderful week. :) xx

Hey Dear Ana…yes, we were thrilled to see the deck furniture — I think I even moreso than the children. And since I can fit into those little chairs, I anticipate enjoying it with coffee, perhaps even all to me at some point — or many points! :) Enjoyed both photo links — thanks. Since I’m not a mango fan I’ll pass on the yellow watermelon. :) Congrats on the Aventine Hill soap. I bought 4 cakes and just LOVE them, they are so pretty too.

hey Dear Talon… “seeds of happiness…” I like that!! I had a few titles in mind. Must not rush or force these things — the right one shall appear, and I’ll change it up. :)

Hey Dear Lynn… “Girls of summer…” I like that too!! Oh, decisions, decisions.. :)

Hey Dear Vered… yes, nothing as refreshing in a fruit I think. Tho I find green grapes to be refreshingly divine.

Hey dear Paige, yes a melon! And a whataburber* with that what a mellon! BB and I have just returned from commenting on your wildlife photography over at 365. Thanks for sharing the good stuff!! *what-a-booger!! :) (bugger?)

Hey, dear Luisa. I love it! Thanks for your submission. I’ll pick my favorite this weekend. Or on Thursday at 4:47 p.m. Texas time . :) Ahh, thank ya — you all iz such nice fokes too!! :)

My dear lovely Hilary.. do you mean to say you have not had watermelon or ridden a garden railway since S.A? Lucky kids lucky me (see my words above to Ana, as what I plan to do on said watermeloned deck. hee hee (evil cackling)

Dear sweet and nice and fun Chris (as I just described you to one of the twin summer angels, who has been here reading all I’m writing over my shoulder as I answer these comments.) Joyful Awesome Gorgeousness!! Gorgeous Awesome Joy! Awesome Joyful Gorgeousness! you are a definite “contendah.”

    Hi Jannie!!!!
Some character by the name of Lance sent me over here…he’s busy today trying to get a monkey to smile (ha!! good luck with that one, eh!!)

I dream up titles in my sleep. Of course, I’m not sleeping right now, because I haven’t figured out how to type in my sleep. The problem – I forget these dreams by the time I wake up… Anyway, that’s not stopping me today…

    The Seeds of Joy
A Man, A House, and Watermelons Galore
Just Red: Watermelons Make You Happy!
    Um…Brella Rocks!!
    The Watermelon Joys of Summer
    The Happy Umbrella
    A Slice of Fruit Heaven
    Yummy in my Tummy
    Sweetness…

Jannie, that’s all I have today. I hear Lance calling…something about that monkey just got away and he needs help rounding him up. Don’t tell anyone…but I don’t think he has a monkey license. If he ends up in the city slammer, you’ll know why (but you didn’t hear it from me…).

Great site you have, by the way!! I’ll be visiting again!

    Happy Summer DAY!!

Seven cheers for The Title Guy pinch-hittin for the Lance-alot! I tried to come up with some titles myself:

    LADYBUG’S TEA PARTY
    TEXAS TUMMY TREATS
    GIRLS HAVE MORE FUN
    RED-LIPPED ANGELS
    AUSTIN DEBS HAVE BRUNCH BREAK
    DRIBBLE DOWN
    WATERMELON KISSES & BUTTERFLY AFTERNOON
    SINFULLY SEEDLESS
    KELLY’S POSSE PAUSE & REFRESH
    BEAT THE HEAT
    WHEN YOUR DECOR BECOMES EDIBLE
MELON ENCOUNTERS OF THE FOURTH KIND

And like the Title Guy, I too hear Lance calling. It seems the monkey was in a bad mood and he flipped his banana at Lance. Do you need a license to own a monkey in Michigan? 107 cheers for Daddy Jim for creating a clubhouse extraordinare! And BB, yes, munch fast cuz little girls get hungry.

Hey Fireblossom! GREAT title. My mind was title blank yesterday. Thanks!! Yes, it’s one amazing space, that tree house. That Jim-guy — he’s a one-off for sure.

Sheila, your Desperate Houswives comment made me LOL. I’ve never ever watched that show but I can imagine those 4 as minis — cute!! :)

Dear Title Guy — YO!! So nice to meet you. Lance steered you here well. I am in desperate need of a good title!! I especially like this one… “The Watermelon Joys of Summer.” Thanks for that! Oh yeah, that Lance Guy, I hear he’s also has camel, llama, toucan and hyena licences. They all must keep Rufus on his paws! And hey, that Lance Guy — he sure got that monkey’s teeth white for the photo on the Levity Smiles. Must be Colgate White?? ;)

Patricia, the watermelon cup and bowl collection sounds WONDERFUL!! Something so cheery about watermelon colors.

Hey LLCoolJoe, welcome back. Hope you made it back safe and sound to the UK. I guess anyone culd duplicate that treehouse if they wanted to badly enough. :)

Hey Glenn! Very interesting and creative title choices you submit. I’d say of all those my favorite is Melon Encounters Of The Fourth Kind. I’m not sure about the monkey license, but we do need one here in Texas for killer armadilloes. :)

    Drum roll, please……..

    Title:

    ‘Wacky Watermelon Walkway’

That’s what I’m going to call that lovely walkway with the watermelon umbrella, the watermelon ingestion, the watermelon colored cast, and the Funster special brand of wackiness.

Let me pause to say I adore your new wacky watermelon wallpaper background!

Now… hold on. You said that Jim, “pretty much rocks”. PRETTY MUCH ROCKS?

OK… so, granted, you then launched into how he deserves a whole watermelon patch to himself. However, I wonder if that “pretty much” phrase should get a strike-through and be replaced with, you know, a more glowing commentary. After all, he made a watermelon porch for those 4 angels, right?!?!

Now, in the interest of full disclosure… I cannot tell a lie. I have not had any watermelon because I don’t like watermelon… to eat, I mean. It’s cute to look at on your wallpaper and Kelly’s umbrella. I just don’t like the taste of real watermelon. You know? The actual food.

So, there you have it. My proposed blog post title. I’ll be anxious to see if you edit the blog title to read: Wacky Watermelon Walkway.

    I dare you!!! ;)

But today I’ll be very much enjoying catching up with my favorite bloggers.

Snaggletooth!! Melon Cally Doll Playhouse!! That’s cute n silly. Watermelon Day is simple, effective. Good one! How will I possibly be able to choose??? You guys make my day on this. No — my week! NO — my century!!!

Oh speaking of licenses to drive, my Aunt Anna — God rest her sweet soul, got hers simply by a mechanic signing a slip of paper attesting that she could drive. That’s how they did it back in 1954 where I grew up. Geez! She never did get a real road test in her 60 years on the road, much to the chagrin of 3 towns. :)

Tony, Tony, Tony… Talon’s title is cute, yeah! And I tell ya — my gunslinging broken Arm armslinging kid is always waaaaay ahead of me. And what should my blog background be next? Hmn, something to match whatever BB doing, of course. Hmmmmmn. I must consult my next post, and see what the theme could be. Hmmnnnnn, indeed. Maybe the daisies will make a resurgence! :)

Geez, this is going to be tough! Jannie – yes, you shall be crowned the judge/referee. Please plan to take course AWIMS109 (Arm Wrestling In My Sleep).
