One Incredible Cloud
Mysteries | Posted by Jannie on 24 June 2010 @ 8:01 AM 46 Comments

It was twilight last week.
I was a block from home and relaxation.
I was tired.
I almost paid no attention when all 3 kids in the back seat suddenly shouted “Whoa!”
But something in their voices made me tune in.
And I looked, to shout “Whoa!” at the cloud too.

I’ve never seen anything like it. Have you?
I don’t think it’s a plane’s vapor trail. I think it’s a cloud.
What could it mean?
Is it a sign?
A sign like the duck in the cockpit of the boat that wonderful blogger JoyChristin lives on?
And if so, what could the sign mean?
Cues Twilight Zone theme and reaches for more coffee…
xoxo

Slow-moving sunset? Crazy!

It was probably created by a “skywriting” plane. I haven’t seen any of those in years, but one could easily do something like that, though what it means, I don’t have a clue.

Mystery solved. Behold! “Love Is In The Air”… circa 1978:
John Paul Young – Love Is In The Air (1978)
I would have been in 4th grade then. No wonder I couldn’t remember who sang this song.

Looks like it was intentionally put there, and I think it might have been an airplane of some kind too.
Great capture! The other late evening me and my partner saw an orange orb floating in the sky. It wasn’t air craft related, it was definitely something energetic as an aero craft wouldn’t look like that, though I wouldn’t be surprised if it is. Anything is possible, especially with all sorts of things in the sky-and the government and military always up to something.
Hope you are well, and enjoying the week.

It’s like a heart! And here’s what I think: If you lying on the ground on a lazy (what day of the week was this?) _____day – it would look exactly like a heart.
Or…it’s the Bermuda Triangle of the sky….
Hey! And I see Blue Bunny’s been fishing!!

Hi Jannie,
This particular cloud is framed in Light..so it represents whimsical, dreamy..the thinness of it represents change…and I see kind of a triangle shape which would represent masculine energy…
What it truly means though is that life may be busy, but you all took the time to look up at the sky..to be Aware..and *that* Awareness always leaves us ready for delight!!
Thank you for the link…:)

I had to go away and think about this all night. Secretly, I was hoping you’d confessed to photoshopping it by now. It doesn’t even really look like cloud or anything, more like fire but maybe that’s the sunset and my eyes.
I don’t buy Mike’s skywriting plane – they go in loops don’t they? Maybe God accidentally dropped one of his hats down from heaven or something.
On 25 June 2010 at 9:59 am Jannie said,
Hey, sorry I was away in my mind, sleeping mostly.
So my lovely friends…
Sky-writing, encircling arms of prayer, upside-down heart, a govenrment / military formation, love triangle, Bermuda Triangle of the sky (watch out!) Visitors have landed, masculine energy, Mason symbol(I thought that too!) Delta sorority, pyramids, camping tent, huge Hershy’s kiss (funny one!) ghost of a dead UFO, God’s hat dropped from heaven…
Hmmmmnnnnn….
The children immediately mentioned sky-writing too. Perhaps. But why? I guess it could’ve been for someone in our neighborhod proposing to his beloved. Maybe. But I think the heart would’ve been more shapely if that were the case, perfectly shaped, I mean. The air was still, no wind.
I know it may be hard to believe but photo is in NO WAY photshopped or altered. Sweet commenter Tayah above (her name changed by herself to protect her privacy,) is still going “whoa!” We all 4 saw it to be real as real.
Jim says I oughta send the photo to the National Enquirer. (But I’ll stay away from the blue beam.)
So…
I’m banking on the LOVE aspect some of you have brought up.
Love IS in the air — yes I do actually very much remember that tune, as it was the opening number in a beauty pageant, the one and only beauty pageant I ever entered. I was 18 and parading around the stage with a bunch of other young hopefuls to that tune. I came in 2nd Princess!!
Here’s what I think…
God has sent our family those two angel twins, that with Kelly create a trio of sisterly love that’s real and sweet, sweet, sweet. And since all 3 were in the car with me and they saw it and pointed it out — it was a sign for me to just be grateful for the gift of them.
And be grateful that the little girls whose dad has not been in their life for a few years, have Jim as a great fatherly figure for them. And he gets to give a lot of love, guidance, burgers and shakes to all!
So yes — LOVE, LOVE, LOVE.
Whimsical dreamy change, and awareness.
And holy cow — it was 3 days before Father’s Day. There’s another 3!!
And deep gratitude from my heart of hearts for all my blessings, which are pretty-much too many to ever count.
xoxoxoxoxo
Now how does that tune go…
Love is in the air from the rising of the sun…
xoxoxox again.
Now, if you’ll excuse me I’m off to see a man about an inflatable dinghy, but not until after I read some of your blogs.
xoxoxo once again.

Dear Jen, hello and thanks for your kind words. If it weren’t for those 3 kids in the backseat I’d never have seen that amazing cloud to share it with you — so thank them.
Dear Dustus, Triangle Man, Triangle Man, does whatever a triangle can? that super guy?
At the scene of the crime — he arrives just in time!!
Dear Sheila, but how did the contrails get in that formation?? And I have no idea how high up the thing was. Mystery, but a neat-looking one, for sure.
Dear SuziCate, and there is the new woman again. Or I should say the same wonderful Suzicate with a brand new gravatar. It does look like an inverted heart!
Dear Patricia, that is a good thought. Whatever it was, it’s the neatest cloud I’vfe seen in my 46 years of deep cloud gazing.

Hi Jannie .. amazing that you captured it .. and posted it – for us all to see. I guess practicality coming in .. it’s a skywriter .. was he drunk – an upside down heart? A little muddled? Someone who can’t draw – I’d fit that bill .. bound to get my left and rights mixed up .. the cloud effect would be a real mish mash … not potato smash.
Bet the kids had fun thinking and dreaming of various cloud stories – and will do for many years to come .. triangles of icecream, white chocolate in the sky .. dream on .. happy days – enjoy the weekend .. hugs from here Hils

Why hello Alice Audrey, again. It’s fun getting used to your cool new gravatar!! Guess what I plan to post next? Me in a dinghy with wine in 1999!!
Dear Davina, ahhh, yes, the tip of the iceberg. Or in China, maybe a riceberg? Yep, that cloud done opened me up to Luv.

Hey Hilary — at long last I return to you and this post. I am a bit of a chocolate overdoser, then leaving it for a long while too. I eat more of it in winter. And guess what? I think I have a glitch in my feed or something. You find out I’ve posted in a reader, do you not? Apparently my feed is lagging behind a post or two. I wonder what’s going on with that? Oh well, not to worry. And you know what I thnk?? I think you SHOULD go out and get distracted by summer and all it has to offer!!!
That’s what summer is for.
