“Today I Am Not” — a poem celebration.

California_Beach_Jim_Kelly_Sept_2005

Today I am not

the dust in my corners,

the shutters unpainted,

the stashes of clean but

disorganized clothing,

the birthday present

unbought and unsent,

or the cleverly stacked

dirty dishes in my sink.

Today I am not the worry

of the oil gushing

or the worry of  government lies,

or the worry of any lie or of any stupid thing I’ve ever said or done in the past.

Today I am not also the worry of

the audio cassette still unfound.

It will show up, shining.

(Probably when I’m getting to the dust!)

Today, I’m not going to the ocean

where we stood in awe when she was four.

But I AM going to a leafy place

with my favorite girl in the world,

where a clean river’s flowing,

children will be laughing

and Suzie and I will ease our

pleasant ongoing conversation

into the heart and soul of the day

– maybe even until dusk if I get off

this computer and do those

dishes to make things look nice

for Jim when he gets home

so he won’t be too mad, especially

since those shutters need painting.

Today, Suzie, our girls and I

will go get something good to eat!

Maybe Hut’s?

Maybe Chuy’s?

I have good sunscreen and

and a relatively un-hideous swimsuit

to greet the perfection of  the day with.

(end of poem)

:)

So, I better get my stuff together!

Clothes, umbrella, suits, towels, hats.

Get those ribs in the mic.

Do the dishes, while singing.

And a little dancing!

Find the little cooler.

Maybe even wash my face before sunscreen.

 :)

(end of other poem that sprang up.)

[Above photo: Jim, Kelly on a California Beach, Sept 2005.  I think maybe Laguna? Dana Point?]

(I still have comments to answer from my last 2 posts. I’ll enjoy getting to those later!!)

I may go crazy, and not get back to a computer until tomorrow a.m.

(But I will slip in here to read comments from my iPhone!)

Can you say Internet Addicted, boys and girls?

:)

I do love getting your sweet comments!

Shoot, need to buttonize that — hang on…

Ahhh, now life is complete.

Well, it will be complete once I get BB with his sandcastle back up, and put the blue water back along the sides!

THEN do the dishes.

When I first saw the pic, I thought, wow, I didn’t realize they had such awesome beaches in Texas. Then I got to the end and realised it was in California :)

Hey color-me-excited Paige! And just why are you colored so excited? I’ll have to get on over and see what’s your latest! We hads us a very very nice time. And ate at the Magnolia Cafe after the Deep Eddy afternoon. I had the most AMAZING spinach / bacon quesadillas!

Oh, Erin you are too too far too kind. This poem is so silly I think. The one from the previous day, Little Loves, was so so much better. But thank you you sweet sunshine yourself, you.

Dearest Lynn, you are too kind also. Yes, we had a great time at Deep Eddy. It’s a concrete pool but fed by Barton Spring’s natural water. Beautiful! I did take so iPhone pix. need to upload and check if any are 790pixel wide good quality. And hey — i swept and mopped my floors today today!!

WILLIAM!!! THANK YOU, I APPRECIATE IT!!! AND DID YOU MEAN TO USE ALL CAPS, BECAUSE YOU LOVE ME SO MUCH??? :)

Hey Carla, today and all days you are NOT insensitive, unartistic and unappreicative of simple things in life.

Hey Talon, I think all 5 of us girls DID have a super-fantastic time indeed. And are going to have another inexpensive excursion again next week, and probably every week until school starts up again.

hey Tony — you actually look equally smashing in your boater hat as you do in your Trottersville gravatar, if I may say so. What!? You left a typo here??? On MY site!?!? My beautiful 100% typo-free sanctuary?/ how COULD you??? :)

Ahhh, Daisy — I like that picture too. Such a beautiful late afternoon to sunset we spent there. poor Kelly tho, the waves were so fast and strong she got knocked completely down shortly after I took that.

    decaf break!!

hey Mama Zen, almost TOO life-like, I’m afraid. :)

Ahhh, Luisa — how come you’re so nice? You leave the sweetest comments.

Hi again Joyce — thanks so much for your visits and comments. i promise you are on my list to get over and visit! And yes, your comment is very true and deep.

hey Cath — you should never feel guilty about the dirty dishes in your sink. :) i did get them done. And swept and mopped floors today! Yeah, no offense TX, but the CA beaches will win for beauty every time.

Ahh, Snaggle, being called a good mom is always a deeply beautiful thing to hear — thank you. I very much appreciate that thought. Some moments I am certainly better than others, but I do try to be loving and kind. Notbook –lol!

Lane, yes September on a CA beach, not a bad place to be in the sunshine. With my best peeps.

hey Pravin — thanks so much for popping in. This is about my dumbest poem lately. hereby resolved to think twice in the future before I hit “Publish.” :) But thanks! And I appreciate the visit. You must be a Jingle friend??

Hi Jannie ! -I loved every bit of your poem! It is so real and springs directly
out of our lives. My mind is like a car – I reflected. It’s speed gives me such pleasure,a crash in,unbearable pain. I finally found this silly little poem that
    made me think about you:
    Hot
    Sultry
    Eyes of love.
    Wink, I love you.
My hearts passion forever holds you dear.

O’ my love, you are mine and I am yours.
    True, we are one.
    Heart to Heart
    Red Rose
    Flame.

    Hot
    Passion
    Flower that
    I am for you.
Dripping with deep filled milky ecstasy…

One sultry look from me, and you just melt.
    My SEDUCTRESS
    Power Works
    Every
    Time.

    Finally something my style :
-Do you love me , Anami Das ? – asked Baba.
-No – honestly answered his pupil. -How about you me ?
-I don’t like you either -was the answer.
    - So that is why our love has no limits?-asked Anami Das and Baba laughed.
    Cheers !:)

    To many things to do
Not enough time in a day
    Still today, you’re not
    Running around everyway
Have I forget this or that
To many irons in the fire
    But today, you’re not
    Oops you’d better run
    Try to have some fun
    Stay out of the sun

Oh my goodness, have I been avoiding this poem?

Well, now to the care and love it deserves!!

    Suzicate! And I love YOU.

Hey Sweet Hilary who does make my day… yes, but now the sink’s got dishes in it again! Oh — never-ending. Never-ending. :) I’m thinking of hiring a dish-maid. What do you think? Lovely sunny day, yes. Still haven’t looked at the pix from it. But I AM drinking coffee, gotta get that inthe a. of m.!

Alice Audrey (shhh, please don’t tell anyone, but this poem is not the greatest. in my opinion anyway. But the next one will win awards in my mind! ) :) But thank you! :) Ahh, sweat — the great cleanser of body and soul. :)

Miachel! Your mind is like a car? Interesting. Mine is like a beach, evolving by the waves of my thought. Seductress? WHAT?? Oh yes, I am seducing the Universe with my Deep Thughts. :) The bit by Anami Das and Baba was cute. And so true!

Okie — yo! You from Muskokee? Thanks. Do you write poems?

Jingle — YOU make me smile. And laugh. And dance. And feel great hope that love is inded working in the leaves. Oh, thanks! I think that my love is in mature stage, great happiness and understanding of simple joys in life — and it shows, I think! ;)

    Out on the sea
    Slashing through waves
    and eternity.
