21 Donuts Of Love
Friends | Posted by Jannie on 8 July 2010 @ 2:26 PM 56 Comments

Hey, I think I’ve figured out what I’m doing in life!
Well, at least with my sidebar links.
Three cheers for Jannie.
And three cheers for you for being my blogging friend!!
Yay! Yay!! Yay!!!
My Plan is to showcase a new site in my sidebar every day or so [Edit: or whenever creative inspiration hits!]– up to 21 button links at a time.
(21 because I have that many favorite kinds of donuts.)
Sometimes I may link to a blog in general. Sometimes to a specific post that moved me.
Once a new sidebar button appears up top, the bottom one will drop off — but will show up again in a month-end post showcasing everyone who was linked that month!
I’ll play the first month-end post by ear, and take it from there.
Buttons may be held over at the bottom for ongoing causes. Speaking of which — please don’t forget to click Sheila’s button and vote daily for the awesome way she is helping make her business dream come true…
Just don’t PUSH Sheila’s button!
A joke! A joke — I love Sheila! She’s a real sweetie. And funny too.
Some buttons may end up in the sidebar permanently, further down — like Jeanne’s for the petition to raise Endometriosis awareness… ANYONE can sign this petition, and it only takes about 2 minutes.
Sometimes BB will want to toot one of my more inspirational posts…
Some sites may be showcased again before others have appeared a first time, if someone has something special happening. I’ll go by the sense of feel. And love. And appreciation for good things.
I enjoy a lot of beautiful and inspirational sites, so please be patient until your button appears.
And if you are a newer friend here, please be patient about yours – and know that it’s wonderful getting to know you.
Some of you may never want to be linked, so let me know if that’s the case! I’m at janniefunster @ gmail.com.
This is so fun!!! (For me, anyway!) And hopefully will be for you guys too.
Please feel free to leave any questions or suggestions below, as you guys always think of things I haven’t.
THANKS!!
Jannie
xoxo
Now… I think I may have comments I’ve not yet answered from my last 2 or 3 posts…
But first, some housework!!

I love how creative you are with your buttons and header and, well, everything! Yet, I only have one favorite donut – Boston Cream, or is it Creme?, no matter – it’s all YUM!
Oh, oh, and I have another giveaway up. Just don’t want you to miss out on the excitement.

OhgodIlovemesomedonuts. I used to eat two donuts a day when I was breastfeeding. Hm, now I kinda miss those days, being able to eat a week’s worth of food and still lose weight. Anyway, I LOVE this. Also, I kinda hate you for making me spend even more time on the internet just clicking away.

I realized I haven’t yet expressed appreciation for the sidebar — I like how it juxtaposes the earth-toned, Northern California approach of my material with my role as productivity go-to guy.

hey, Cindy! Well, I am finally happy with my blog design, maxed my pix to 790 px, by slimming my sidebar down. And having a blast with my Paint Shop Pro (as you can probably see.)
And each button only takes me about 5 – 10 mins to make.
Ahh, thanks Anne. It’s taken some tweaking, and some plain olde diving in and thoughts like, “Should I REALLY be going this big with my pix?” But I’m glad of how it turned out. And I just pick a graphic from the site I’m highlighting, and pop on some words I believe in. Ooooo, a giveaway. Okay, I’m totally checking that out tonight! Thanks for the heads-up.
hey, Adrenalynn, and the shop I took Kelly’s picture in makes the absolutely most heavenly wonderful donuts on the Planet! Sorry about dangling all these sites in front of your already Internet-saturated but very beautiful eyes!
hey, Chris and I realize that I may not daily express the appreciation for the gift of what you offer the world, Mister Go-To Guy. Thank YOU! oh, mugs with the exact button of you above would be great to give out as part of your seminars!
Why G, I feel lucky about this already! And now with your comment — how can this turn out to be anything but the luckiest thing I’ve ever turned my head and heart to here. except for maybe annointing BB with his first-ever header karrit.

Hope you are keeping well, and enjoying the Summer.
I’m hoping my package will get there soon! Fingers crossed it gets there later today and in one piece. (09/07/2010)

Jannie,
Three cheers for Jannie! Yay! Yay! Yay! Woo hoo hoo! Did I only say “hoo” twice? Oops. Woo hoo hoo hoo! That’s better!!
Oh my! You’re making me hungry. Those may be the most delicious looking donuts I’ve ever seen. Then again, maybe it’s just that you’re such a great photographer.
Kelly looks soooooooo cute in that picture!! Any photographer would be hard-pressed to take a bad picture of her! What a doll!
The donuts, though, may truly look extra good simply because it was you shooting the picture. All I know is there are no donuts that look that yummy where I live. We had a brief 1-2 year period where there were a few Krispy Kreme donut locations near us but apparently the chain decided to pull their stores out of our area. Boo hoo…
We had had a location about 40 minutes away (near one of my doctors) and once in awhile I popped over there and got a glazed donut that was still hot. Yummy! (I’m not sure if you are familiar with Krispy Kreme’s neon sign light that gets lit when the donuts are just made)? Mmmmmmm.
I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE your new sidebar buttons and I pinky swear it’s not just because one of them is for our endometriosis petition!
Seriously, your latest updates to your blog look awesome!
Thank you soooooooooooooooooo much for featuring our petition button in the sidebar AND in the post! Woo hoo hoo!
We’re at 618 signatures and rising all the time. OK… Here comes my wee little speech.
Please indulge me in a quick note here that ANYONE who wishes to support the 89 million women and girls worldwide who have been diagnosed with endometriosis (and the many more who are still struggling with it *undiagnosed*) is welcome to sign the endometriosis awareness petition!
Yes, anyone can sign! Three cheers! Triple yay!
Have you signed yet? (Pssssst: Yes, if you’re reading this comment then, yes, I’m asking you).
I love your idea to rotate the buttons through. Jannie, this is fun for your readers too… not just for you!
I hope your housework went well. Did you sing “Love Is In The Air” while you worked?? Or was it “I Am I Said”? (BTW, we heard several Neil Diamond songs playing in a little restaurant by the lake on Monday and we thought of you. They appeared to have several CDs on random. All I know is we heard about 5 Neil Diamond songs. Hubby said it was the Jazz Singer CD. I did not hear “I Am I Said”.
Your pretty water background is helping me cope right now. My heat intolerance that makes me so ill. In the last few days it got to 97 degrees Fahrenheit one day and 96 degrees today. So, I really appreciate your water visual. (Plus, you know from my blog I’m a water theme fan anyway).
Also, I adore Blue Bunny’s musical notes and his header pic (orange Crush, lollipop, and donuts) is hilarious!
You are too hilarious!
Thank you again, Jannie!!!!!!! You totally rock!!!
Jeanne
P.S.
This past weekend, we were in the car heading to/from canoeing and we popped in your “I Need A Man” CD. Hubby asked me if your next CD was out yet. (As if I wouldn’t have held a ticker tape parade and played the CD the instant it arrived in the mailbox… 100% free of lemon verbena – to accommodate my MCS needs – but full of plenty of moonbeams)!!!
I told him that last I heard you were shooting to record again in the fall and that you had recently taken some time off of blogging for songwriting.
So, Hubby wants to know if you are still on schedule for recording in the fall. I will dutifully report your answer back to him forthwith (once I get it, I mean).
Yes, Jannie, you have a waiting list forming! Hey, there’s an idea. Create a virtual waiting list to generate even more suspense for your beyond-awesome musical treats for our ears!
It’s nice to be loved, isn’t it? Get those hats, sunglasses and wigs ready. The paparazzi are sure to be after you for your encore CD. Don’t forget to arm the security system. You never can be too safe!

Hi Lovely Ana, well you guys make my day every day with your comments, and with your blog posts, and I believe in sharing the good stuff. Yep, having a good lazy easy summer. I will check my mailbox every day for the package! Thank YOU for being such a dear.
Hi Lovely Patricia, umn Haloween donut holes. I remember Dad always making fudge on H’we’en night. He’s a darn good fudge maker! I AM having a blast with my cheap little photo program, just diving in a seeing what I can do. If I can do it — believe me — ANYONE can!
Hi Lovely Daisy — ain’t no thang. Credit where credit’s due, I say. Oh, and once you get your buttons you right click on and save them to do amazing things with. Like blow it up to poster size for your living room wall.
Hi Tony-Tony — ahhh, so you’re a button-pusher, eh? yes, push away, just please make sure your shoes don’t make that annoying squeaky sound as you flee, okay?!
That totally creeps me out.
Oh Dear Lynn — I had totally forgotten about your South Beach diet until I saw your comment. I am so so sorry about flaunting all those sugary carbs in front of you. I promise I’ll put up lots of greens soon. And lean chicken, skim milk, lofat cheese and lots and lots of water! (Those fritters actually suck.)
Hey Dear Luisa — Hey Luisa — and I too will be waiting to see what I do — I never know until the inspiration hits whose blog I’ll feature, or what the button will be.
havin’ fun — whoo-hoo! The chocolate donuts are way up near the top of my favs!!
Davina — Ooo, a beer! What brand did you have? Bottle or can? I love a Heineken or any good lager in a bottle. Haven’t had a beer in weeks, tho. Did have some nice wine lately. Sorry ’bout giving you donut pangs. That is pretty naughty of me.
Talon — oh Boy Peachy is a Timbit nut too. She hasn’t been to Canada in some years, but I recall she was a fan.
Charlie is such a hoot, isn’t she? Hey, while your at Tim’s can you please order me a medium double-single??
And Sweetie — you are welcome. Your blog is such a special place. How’d the button pressin go??
Hey Suzicate, you are so sweet to check in and catch up. Thanks. Another donut girl — yay!
Hey Jeanne — I am so sorry to hear about how hot it’s been and how it affects you. Do you have a good A/C unit? I hope so! Oh, my background is actually hot pink for this. Maybe your browser needed to refresh. The blue is nice tho, yes. I added in the little edit! Well, thanks so much on all your lovely words. LOL on the Neil songs and how you thought of me. You all are too sweet. Probalby going to start by recording just 2 songs this fall to submit to the Kerrville song contest, and see how those 2 go, then record the rest. You know I’ll be keeping you all updated here about any music news! Did you have fun canoeing?? I bet you did! We were going to on the Fourth, but ended up seeing Toy Story 3 — which was so SLOW for the first 40 minutes, then was fantastic for the rest!! Oh, now I can borrow from BB and all his disguises to give the paparazzi the slip!

Hey, Alice Audrey. I admit my Blogroll link up top has not been touched much lately. Maybe this new links scheme can be incorporated into it somehow! Yeah. Ah, blogging is a process, so many layers can unfold and gee — did I give BB too many balloons up there??
Oh, and I’m looking forward to putting up an inspired button for you one day — yes indeed.
William! You made me look to see what pic.
My mind is wandering to my next link button design. And to room reorganization, dust sweeping, furniture moving and all the possibilities therein.
Hilary! I already had his header with the lollipop, soda and one donut. So all I had to do was pop in one more donut and hit the redo on that 19 more times. Piece of cake! But as I mention above to Alice Audrey, BB’s balloon curtain seems like quite a lot.
Ah, so you’re doing so moving work now, are you? Enjoy everything too! And I have read your latest comments from when BB was up so late last night. Can’t promise when I’ll be responding — but I’ll try.
Ahh, thanks so much, Sheila. I am getting happier and happier with my design Paint Shop Pro has sure opened opened up a new creative world for me! Oh, and awesome for signing the petition — thanks! But since my button is not “fluid” (if that’s the word) but uuploaded to my WP content, I’ll either have to update it manually, or figure out how to get the one that’s automatically tied to the e-petiion. Jeanne? Any ideas??
Dustus — that was one Extra-Cool photo you took of the inside of the top of that clock! And thanks. 99 brands of beer on the wall, 99 brands of beer…
Brian — Yep, I’m just rolling with this brainwave for links. hey, should I slim this sidebar down even further to 140 px, and make my pix a full 800px?? Nice even number? OMG, will it EVER end??
Fireblossom! Okay, are you telepathing something about me today? I have to send your package again. Came back yesterday. Apparently anything over 13 oz has to be seen by a Real Person, and can’t just be popped into the cmofort of one’s own mailbox with luxury of a red flag raised. But that’s okay, I’ve got 1 thing for Canada and 1 for the Phillipines, so I will get 3 for the price of one and have an outing to the P.O. which is always quiet a pleasant and educational experience.
Mayube having the package returned is God’s way of saying I need to put a 3rd book of poetry in to truly make it a gift worthy of you. Yeah, Talon rocks both personally and artistically.
Paige, yeah and my first job was at age 17, dishwasher, but I kinda got fired for nipping some of the whiskey from the storage shed and imbibing it with the potato peeling girl, she only 17 too. At least, I think why, she never did tell me. She was just so glad to have the conversation over we never did get to teh nuts and bolts of it. But that may have been just a little TMI for me telling you that little tidbit right there, Paige. I think you are BEAUTIFUL –inside and out so fie on a little donut-induced cushion. We all need cushions! And sometimes even drapes.
Silly Jannie. But wait, a word from our sponsor.
deerist page in a book of blogspots… it’s me, BB. those iz ballons. my jannie still werking on my noo looks — i cals this one “the windblone baloons look.” but maybe she wil chainge me soon.
wit loves.
With Love,

I think your idea is great. I try to link to online friends when it’s appropriate, in posts to help with SEO. I was thinking of doing something similar to you – but putting one ad in my sidebar at a time to give others some exposure to a different audience. I’m going to wait until I know for sure I’ve got rid of all these hackers before I start adding more ads and plugins tho.

Ahh, thanks, Wilma. It was early in the day, and the morning sun was streaming in so beautifully, caught her eyes and the dnuts so beautifully. Yes — I actually did my dishes THREE times last week, and swept and mopped 2 rooms! I[m on fire, Wilma, fire!! So glad diving providence sent you my way to this post with your comment. Thanks!!
Hey Blog Angel Jella. Firstly I have never seen a round gravatar, and I LOVE it! Cute, cute, cute. Thanks a bunch for flowwing me back here from my comment at your exciting place. I’ve never been involved in a blog carnival. I am very inrigued, and I WILL check it out. I think it’s gonna all be so swell. So glad to meet you.
Hey, Karyn. Always great to see you! And now BB is gone from the header with his donuts — I must remember to crop that pic and put it in at the bottom of the post. Yep– BB rules this blogging roost!
Hey Cath, well I didn’t start out with the exact links idea in mind, but I do like how it evolved. Fun for me. I like creating those little 150 x 60 buttons! Your sidebar ad idea sounds fun! Hope you get all those yucky bugs rightly trounced so you can get on with your plans. Looking forward to seeing them.

hey, Snaggle! You crashed, or your computer? I think I’m ready to crash and head back to bed. Been up for over an hour and I’m still TIRED! How did you KNOW about the upsidedown underwear on BB?? You are SO observant. Well, I actually did the balloons a couple weeks ago and I was not so tuned into how the light comes from BB’s top left — but now am clued. Living and learning!
J.D. And now am singing “Love Lifts Us Up Where We Belong..” and “You lift me up..” forget the rest of the words. Thanks!
