1 … who thinks driving to the store and back for chips and beer actually qualifies as exercise?  (Hey, getting in and out of a car once – let alone twice, can be quite the work-out!)

2 … whose bras all need to be “taken up?”

3 …who can simultaneously eat spaghetti, blow-dry my hair and read blogs? (Okay, you know I’ll be posting a video to prove that.)  :)

4 … who really misses jeans that actually came up to and surrounded The Waist? I’m so tired of my pants always falling down.  Oh, I so miss Fancyass jeans from the 80s!!  Remember that brand?

5 … who has cat hairs, cookie crumbs and something that looks like a glop of dried coffee ice cream gracing the keyboard of my computer?

6 … who has splashed hand sanitizer in my arm pits in a sudden odor emergency? Hey, it totally works in a pinch!

7….. whose speakers blew on my laptop one day after the factory warranty was up?

8 … who then fell asleep listening to music via headphones on said laptop, rolled over in the night and damaged the phone jack irreparably?

9 … who’s re-gifted? Pray do tell! Come on – it’s only the two of us here!

Later today I’m mailing that set of glass roosters we got for Christmas many many moons ago to a lovely blogging friend.  Seems a right natural progression because of the decorations I see in her post-flood kitchen remodel. (Sorry those are not antiques, Paige. Re-gift if you wish.)

10. … who’s had a small parcel come back with this love note affixed?

Fireblossom

July, 2007, eh?  I really should keep up with these things!

So much for any future dreams of zipping merrily up the walkway to our mailbox to leave a parcel heavier than 13 oz.

Oh well, I have to go to the P.O. anyway — also have one of my CDs to mail to a really nice blogger in Sri Lanka.  And something to Canada.

Awesome Poet Fireblossom’s  gift coming back was probably God’s way of telling me to put in an extra little something for her.  And to use nicer stamps.  So I am, from my private stash…

Fireblossom_2

And Rooster Woman’s parcel has these…

rooster_woman_stamps

I am going now, to start sorting through 18 boxes of stuff.  I know Wise Patricia’s audio cassette is in one of them!

(All photos in this post taken by iPhone 3GS.)

Toodles!

My favorite way to upcycle is to take old jewelry and rework it to have new life.
And if you aren’t going to use it and know someone who will love it, I say that regifting is demanded!
Never knew about the hand sanitizer in the pits. Be careful you didn’t just shave. Ouch.
And bras needing to be taken up!? Hilarious! But I think that maybe building a platform under them would be smarter move for me!
    Enjoy the day!

I am re-gifting right now….I got a lovely pottery bowl as a wedding present from my maid of honor….My daughter has a friend getting married this Sunday who loves pottery, so I thought I would pass it on after it has been filled with loving, warm, hearty food over all these 33 years. Un-chipped, lovely lid and hand made….I think she will love it and it’s history.

Lots of trips to the post office….I should have used duct tape on the cassette…It seems to be my healing totem!

Hey, Dear Davina, those stamps are really near and dear to my heart. Back in my letters-writing pen-pal days (which I still keep up spooradically,) I searched for the most beautiful stamps I could. And have many left over. My stash is dwindling now, but I know that giving them away is the right thing to do. That’s funny the regifter told you! Gotta love honesty. Always the best policy. Have you fallen asleep recently on the phone?? I[ve never done that, but I do remember reading to Kelly while asleep, or at least falling asleep when she was 2 or 3.

Hey Erin — regifting IS an art. And a blessing, I think, breathing new life into things so others can enjoy them. (I think I should E-MAIL you about the hand-sanitizer in the pits!) :) But after shaving can help heal any nicks. :) You know what’s hilarious??? The visual of a platform under someone’s boobs! THAT made me wail with laughter. Yes, it WAS a pretty-good day, thanks!

Dear Patricia, yes aren’t those lovely stamps. The wildflower ones came 50 to a sheet, and I am jsut now letting them go after hanging onto them for maybe 12 or 15 years. Regifting something lovely from your own wedding that has brught such love and joy sounds like the sweetest sweetest thing ever! And nick-free — it’s meant to be indeed. Ooo, what are its colors? So you are a big duct-tape fan too?? I should’ve duct-taped your cassette down at one point. Then I went to Canada. Then Jim had all the stereo stuff rent asunder when we came back. And now it’s a year later… You patience will be rewarded.

Lynn — ahh, the very best kind of gifts — give waht we ourselves would like to have. You really ARE a super-sweetie, aren’t you? But I already knew that. And have for quite a while. Ever since I first met you, in fact. And I think it’s hilarious that you all are responding to the re-gifting question.

Hey Ed — yes indeed Fancyass, or maybe it was Fancy Ass. Had them in Canada, but I assume they were in the U. S. too. Okay, now I’ll be Googling… OMG — that is too funny. Look what popped right up… http://www.facebook.com/group.php?v=wall&viewas=0&gid=2382782610

    That kills me!!!

Gotta go brew some chamomile tea.

    Will return.

Wow, that chamomile tea last night really did me in! Between that and reading to Kelly — starting over the Little House series again, I crashed. j

    And morning has broken.

So Edpillola — yes, Fancy Ass jeans were wonderful, for a certain body-type I guess. Was so funny to see that link to Bring Back Fancy Ass jeans. I am SO in agreement with that. Um biscotti. I likes me some of that!

Hey Dear Vered, that’s all I have for dinner on some occasions. Well, rarely. But I have! :)

Hey Dear Talon, well you know I forgot that I can paint watercolors with one foot and mold those macaroni cowboy sculptures with my other foot while I’m blow-drying, twirling noodles and commenting on blogs. And balance books on my head. Yes, I’ll miss those stamps, cause once they’re gone, they’re gone. But I gotta think passing them on is a good thing to do.

Hey Dear Chris — I was at the library when I read your comment about taking up your bra daily and I laughed out loud. The lady at the computer next to me asked if I was raeding jokes. :) Yep, wait for the video! I will most likley be posting a video of me singing one of my new songs first! Yep, been getting some nice lines on my new “Sail A Child.” “Let’s Drink Up The Stars” is on the back-burner at the moment.

Hey Dear Jingle, yes, arent’ those stamps lovely! The 50 wildflowers were my favorites. Yes, lucky me to have a friend like you. I am looking forward to the rally next week! Thank you for understanding me!! That does mean a lot to me, nice to be understood.:) And that tomato with steak photo on your Blogspot blog — that looked SO good.

Hey Dear Julie, a taker-backer, eh? Well, there’s nothing wrong with that at ALL!! It just keeps the love circulating! :) And Julie, I bet as you and I continue to be blogging buds, I’ll “get you” and will no coube buy you the gift of your dreams! All one has to get me is a case of Heineken, and some Krispy Kremes.

Dear Paige — “brush my pits” now that is a lovely image indeed. NOT! I’ll have you know I shave them twice a day! :) Yep, Postie doesn’t love me as much now that we have a small window where the door used to be. and now a “werd” from my trusty assistant… deerist paige, yes i needs a asistint to helps me. my jannie maeking me werk so mutch on bloging. and yoo kan use me as a referense if you wants. I know what a hard worker yoo iz!! wit loves — me, Blue Bunny.

Hey, Dear Suzicate — it appears there is a whole “Bring Back Fancy Ass Jeans” movement, as per that FB link I discovered, and posted above in my comment to edpillola. I think it is more than high time for that!!! I guess it depends on body type. I have a small waist, so that’s most likely the reason hip-huggers do not work for me.

Hey Dear Tammy, ah yes, you have that lovely thick hair that does not require bumping up in volume. (Jealous!) Hey, I see you’re with me on the bras and low-riser jeans dilemma. :) I have 4 sports bras needing adjustments! Always great to see you!!!

    Coffee break!

Hey, Cinder — appears you and I have many companions missing the “old” style jeans. Wonder why the companies don’t make them? I mean, there is a WHOLE generation of youngsters who have never experienced anything but hip-huggers! madness.

Hey, Desk 49 — Salt and Peppers! And would you believe the P.O. lady yesterday (didn’t get out until yesterday) slapped the postage sticker right in the MIDDLE of all those beautiful stamps, even tho there was plenty of space elsewhere on the parcel? Un-freaking-believable. I guess she was close to break time. Did Big Brother come get you? :) Hope not!!

Hey, Snaggle! I’ve got a whole 2 sets of all 4 of those scuba stamps left — and guess who will one day receove a letter with those one? Hmmm, I wonder who? Never heard of Filenes, but sounds like fine Italian. really? You never wear sweaters? You wear vests over your flannel shirts, I guess??

Hey, Evelyn — arent’ they gorgeous? Back before the Internet I used to keep up with my snailmail penpals, and cherished beautiful stamps. My supply is dwindling, but I do like sharing the love. I tell others to give me cash — not gifts! :) Great to see you again.

Hey, Jewel! Resourceful, what? Me? What was this post about again? :) No, don’t think I ever saw One Fine Day. I like the song, tho! But hey, did she like and use the re-gift? That’s what matters — spread the love.

Hey, Hilary! How sweet of you to give away those stamps. Jim’s nieces and nephews always used to collect them and we gave our cancelled ones to them. And I believe you shall receive a letter from across the Pond with some pretty stamps on one day!! How you are enjoying the day??

The post office had Simpsons stamps, which made me laugh, and some gorgeous Katherine Hepburn ones. I collected stamps for a couple of years – it seems to be when they were 29 cents ;-)
