10 Amazing Things I’ve Done Lately

1. Painted a set of window shutters.  And did a fairly nice job!

2. Sorted and Completely Organized 3 of my 27 boxes of papers and stuff.

3. Moved all my Blue Bunny headers to a new folder named (surprisingly) “BB-Headers.”

4. Moved all my background designs to a new folder named (imaginatively) ”Backgrounds.”

5. Moved all BB’s props to a new folder called (surprisingly and imaginatively) “BB-Props.”

5. Thought about cleaning the fish tank.

6. Thought about mopping the floors.

7. Thought about organizing the clothes closets.

8. Did the dishes 4 whole times in the past week!!

9. Booked some studio time for next month to start laying down tracks for my new tunes.

10. Printed out the above and other photos of Austin, his sister Alyssa and a certain young girl named Kelly, and mailed them to Aunt Sue who lives in Toronto. (Guess who Jannie Sue is named for?) Auntie doesn’t do Internet, so it was a good feeling to help catch her up on her great-nieces and great-nephew.

Ahh, finally getting some things done, in addition to my new cord-and-cable-camouflaged corner, of course!

How about you?  What amazing things have amazing YOU done lately??

On Saturday, I worked with my sister and brother-in-law to clear out the storage shed in the backyard of our family home, which we are preparing to sell (in 100 degree heat.) We also worked on staging the house for the real estate agent to show and boxed up lots more stuff. I’m still tired from that, Jannie Sue. :)

I love that you gave thought to mopping the floors – I give a lot of thought to that, too! Well, not your floors – but mine ;) How exciting – you’ll be back in the studio! You must be so excited!

The only amazing thing I’ve done lately is take some time to completely relax and now I’m so refreshed and relaxed I think I might actually mop my floors! :)

Great job! And WoW, some of those “thinkers” must have been really tough.

Last week: laundry, dishes, dusted, cleaned bathrooms, cleaned out the office (baby girl asked how I made the room bigger), sweept, I suffered through a few thinkers too, looked amazing as I rested on the sofa in my crown…and taaada I even cooked supper every, yes every, evening and breakfast once.

    1. I too have thought about mopping my floor! Amazing coincidence! Weird…
    2. I compromised by vacuuming it.
    3. I felt awful about having stinky garbage cans, so actually scrubbed them for the garbage guys. It was just too embarrassing for words. Truly. They are sparkly clean now though!
    4. I cut the grass 2x
    5. I made dinner most nights (although popcorn, cheese and veggie sticks in front of a movie is a bit of a stretch)
    6. I read Jannie Funster’s BLOG!!

Dearest Lynn, you’ve been working most weekends on the clear-out. And you’re all set for tin foil now. Bet you’ll be glad when it’s all done. :) It must be very tiring. Will you take a cruise after it’s sold?

Dearset Talon, if you were here now I bet you’d give some thought to mopping my floors too. :) Hey, that reminds me — is your kitchen done? Cardboard off the awesome new floor now? Yep — i’ll be starting with the guitar for “Sail A Child” and take it from there. It IS exciting, whoo-hoo!!!

Dearest Paige, well ya know — the thinker that took the most out of me was organizing those closets — but I did take some Before pix, so stay tuned. :) You did awesome on your stuff!! Was it yur crown with the rubies and emeralds, or your classically elegant diamond encrusted one?

Dearest Dr. J. Sounds fantastic!! Home improvement Is there ANYthing you cannot do, and do well? :)

Dearest Julie, I think what you are doing in Pittsburgh IS amazing! I mean, just look how you’ve figured out all those bus schedules!! And your work is helping many — that’s amazing!! What did you like best about Pittsburg?

Dearest Katherine, LOL on cleaning your trash cans for the garbage guys — what a sweet thing to do. Did yu spray them with air freshener too, to give them a little whiff of heaven along their route? Umn, grass-cutting, I always enjoyed that when I was our chief grounds-keeper. It kept growing back tho, what’s UP with that?? You have a ride-on, or a good old push mower?

Amazing Things Accomplished in the last 24 hours:

    1. I never miss my chance to check out Jannie, BB, Kelly, and Big Jim here at Funsterville.
    2. I filed away the gallon jar of belly button lint, and found a new one for the future.
    3. i separated the finger nail from toe nail clippings, and put them in different ziplocks.
    4. I watered my parched lawn carefully, and it now is greener than most of the neighbor’s lawns.
    5. I watched EXTRAORDINARY MEASURES with Harrison Ford, and cried five times; great family flick.
    6. I did a load of wash so my Melva will not kick my butt when she gets home Friday.
    7. I made a lame attempt to blog and email all my cyber friends.
    8. I put off shaving for one more day.
    9. i found that using tweezers on nose hairs work boffo, but can be painful.
    10. I met with my cousin, who is a writer and environmentalist, and he talked me into joining
his new green group, AOA, “Artists for Oceans and Animals”.
    11. I bought a new sprinkler with three heads, which is better than two,
I2. I mailed off special delivery my application for converting my retirement 401K into monthly payments, and hope I did it right. I am terrible with standard forms.
    13. I wrote a new poem RE the BP oil debacle and sent a copy to Miss Jannie.
    14. I made up a funny list of made-up book titles with Mozart in them and sent them to Lane Savant who will read “any” book with Mozart in the title.
    15. I kept to the sanity of my new diet, cept for the spoonful of peanut butter at 11pm last night.
    16. I talked with Melva on her bluetooth as she drove from Little Rock to Lolita, TX. She will spend one night with her mother, and then start back to WA state and her old husband.

Dearest Glenn, I am so glad you are such a big Funster Fan, and enjoy your fun wild long comments. Can you get fined for having a too-green lawn? :) I love the sound and feel of Artists For Oceans And Animals. I suck with forms too, but hope for the best. I usually have to re-do them at least once. Please re-send to my G-mail, as I did not see the poem yet. Thanks! And now, some Mozart Book Titles for you and Lane…

    Mozart At The Movies
    Mozart & The Alien Invasion
One Hundered Mozarts At The Mall
The Day Mozart Ran A Marathon
    Mozart Stole My Alien Baby

Wait! Those are sounding strangely more like National Enquireer headlines. :)

Dot!! AWESOME!!! I wonder if you’ve posted that on your blog? I promise I’ll make it over there sooner than later — sooner being in the next 2 days. Later being within the next week!!

UnprecidentedIntellectual. Hi! Would you be offeneded if I put you in as U.I.? :) Or Untual? Hi again — and welcome. You are so sweet to pop in and say hi. Yep, I kind of like that photo, thanks. And funny, but yours is the actual first comment that mentions it! How interesting and synchronous. You must be with SITS? SITS rocks!! See you on your blog as soon as I can.

Alice Audrey, Dearest, of course. Quilting?? How cool. Or gee — had I known that and forgotten/ My mind is a sieve sometimes, and Kelly remarks my shrt term memory leaves a lot to be desired often. And Alice Audrey, the next button I make for you will reflect your deep, mountainous, sunsetted, romantic, nature-loving artsy side, okay? I almost used Jack & Jill but I couldn’t get the porportions of the button right.

Okay LLCoolJoe!! Fess those amazing things up! But wait — you do in every post becasue of your ultra refined and defined sense of humor, depth and quirkiness.

Vered — yOu make me smile a bit becauseI know you never let too much moss grow under your feet at any given moment. :) Your lazy is probably my working hard! :)

Dear G, well since sanity is such a valuable thing, I’m so glad you found yours. Mine took a while, and now that I have it, I’m not letting it go for anything. :) Sorry to hear that yours was painful, but not to hear the results. Have you posted about it on your blog?

Dearest Patricia, a light fun novel sounds good for the head and heart. Sure hope your heat wave passes quickly. How hot has it been? Oooo, paid work! Could it be a regular gig for you? Hmn, I don’t think we’ve had any empty file drawers in a long, long time. :)

Dearest Alice Audrey, AWESOME — thanks!! You are so multi-faceted, there is a lot to choose from.

Dearest William, yep I AM a happy lady. I send my guy off to work, and I take care of hearth and home. And spend my time on the Internet, of course! :) I loves me some Internet.

Dearest Jingle — I love the exercise from mopping floors, and it’s not easy as our saltillo tile are rather uneven and take some elbow grease for sure, with an old-fashioned mop. Ahh, Jim actually loves to write but does not have as much time these days for it as he’d like, he puts a lot of work into paying bills! You rock too, Sweetie, and I am happy to have a poem already written for Thursday, which I’ll post on late Wednseday, and enjoy reading some new poets. So I better get thinking about what BIG picture to put in my rally post. You poem on apples and pears was fun and inspiring today!!

Dearest SuziCate, well they’re mostly little things but they do add up and make me feel I’m getting things done in life, after a period where I was feeling mildly inert. And welcome back!! Did you get that tan? :) I’ll have to check in on your latest! And SuziCate, by all you write, I sense you to be a very organized person, that’s what I pick up from you, anyway. Bravo! Just make sure to have soem relaxing YOU time.

Dearest Ed, why did I think you were a semi-retired guy living the bohemian CA life? If you feel unhappy in your job I HIGHLY recommend a fellow blogger’s teachings. He is Chris Edgar, and he sure showed me how to make my work happier, from the inside of me out. Just click this button… (I sure hope it appears and works correctly when I hit Post on this. If it does, I’ll feel like I have majorly kicked some code’s butt!) :) Yes, 9 and 10 are good to have done, just a couple little things, but very important to me.

Dearest Glenn, yes — obey the womenfolk. At all times! :) I’ll check again for your poem. I guess even poets go on vacation, eh? :)

And here this goes in …

Dearest Cath, well… I’ve gotten off my butt a bit lately. But can’t rest on my laurels. Gotta keep them laurels moving. :) “Not getting everything done that I need to…” you say. Do we ever? I guess our best bet is to try to keep things as simple as possible. Well, maybe you could batch some posts when inspiration hits? I’ve done that lately.

Dearest Davina, that souunds like a peaceful day. Why do I picture you driving a Jeep? Or a Toyta Camry? I did my dishes again today!!! Just going crazy lately. :) And worked on my song, with guitar too.

Dearest Snaggle, why thanks! It had been almost 2 years since I’d sent her some photo updates. Terrible, especially since I used to send her some twice a year. We haven’t had a working printer for over 2 years, so I print out at the library for ten cents a b&w page, $1 for color. I highly recommend it!! You made me lol at your visuals in your comfy chair, feet up. Don’t blame you for putting your feet up and keeping them there. You deserved to after 10 hours on your feet. You are the hardest-working person I know, and I sure hope you are $tashing $ome away for retirement. Or will come and hang out with me when you retire. I’ll build ya a guest house!!!

Good morning, Tony Single, and how art thou? In my coffee is milk from a cow. Reading my blog is quite the feat, methinks ye deserve a donutted treat.

Good morning, Lane Savant. Purfling yes, to me a new word, perhaps one of the strangest I’ve heard. But a quick Google search reveals rather fast, that purfling helps stringed instuments last. Indeed I see on my onw guitar, I have some purfling over thar! And your 0s I appreciate, keeping your comment line nice and straight.

Hello Dear Starlaschat. I think the hardest thing about the boxes was just starting!! And the stuff goes in either 1 of 3 places… trash/burn, neatly stored away, or put in it’s place. So, go to it!! And so nice of you to pop pin — thanks. Jingle is such an amazing person. I think I’ll put up a link button for her today in my sidebar.

Darling Daisy — yes, thinking accounts for many mental gold stars on the olde getting things done chart!! Good for you, girl. Im highly impressed with your god intentions. I think that as we evolve more as a species we will get to the place where we just think about our chores and they get done. Kinda like Bewitched with a wiggle of our noses. :)
