Dearest Lovely Peeps,

Howdy!

back_to_the_bench

Kelly started back to school yesterday.

And I returned to My Bench after a long summer away.

Remember My Bench last winter?

Bench_love_end_of_winter

But enough of the past!

This morning I sashayed a full 20 minutes along the trail, coffee in hand, fully clothed – then took off my shirt at Lou Neff Point. It was hot already at 8:30!

(Don’t worry — I was wearing my sports bra, of course.)

(My stretch pants did have a big hole in the rear, but I’m pretty-sure no one noticed.)

The sun was shining directly on My Bench (I try to avoid UVs) so I did my exercises on a shadier bench across the way, let’s dub it my Buttocks Bench. Or my “Morning Bench.”

Buttocks-Bench

After 10 minutes of buttocks tucks, sit-ups, leg lifts and such, I arranged my shirt and sunglasses on My old Bench, now called my ”Afternoon Bench,” to take these pix for you with my iPhone.

moonlighting

(I tye-dyed that shirt myself last winter at Kalyani’s. Not bad for a first go I think.)

A minute later, back on the trail (long tee on again) I captured these swans for you.

Ladybird_lake_swans

I LOVE our hike and bike trail!!

Can’t wait to get back there tomorrow after I drop Kelly at school.

jannie_in_sunglasses_closer

Then maybe go shopping for some new stretch pants.

:)

    Hi Jannie

I wonder if it is possible for you to ever not make me laugh or put a huge smile on my face!

This was a wonderful adventure to go on this “hike” with you and experience your bench like no other ;)
Your park is just glorious! And the swans – oh thank you – they were so lovely to see!

By the way, don’t be scared of the UV rays – we need them for the vitamin D – finally now research is coming out on how extremely deficient the majority of the population is in this critical vitamin because for the past few decades they told everyone to stay out of the sun and block their skin with the chemicals when in it. The whole sunblock thing… great for the sunblock companies… not so much for our health. So it is all about practicing smart sun exposure, without chemicals.

Here is to your health always Jannie :)

    Cool park.

It stayed cool for us today. It was actually raining here about the time you were in the park. I think it’s the first serious rain here since sometime in May, though we must have had at least a little bit while we were gone as not everything dried up completely.

I do remember the bare-of-vegetation bench. Didn’t realize you had such numerous selections! Someday some vines will climb that sculpture thing overhead n get you some shade!
Another week here before school. Enjoy all those sweet, free hours!

Dearest Evita, thanks. Lovely words. When I think of YOUR blog I think of a sweet smile, a high heart and a lovely little house in the woods near a babbling brook! Thanks for the reminder of how great the sun is, I do enjoy getting a little on me in the springtime, but I will try to up my intake, I promise! Thanks. Yes, how lovely to have caught the swans at that area this morning, and at that angle. I wonder how old they and if they are the same 2 I photographed Kelly with when she was 4 on a different area of the trail? Maybe! And here’s to YOUR health, Dear Evita, now and always.

Dearest Ellis, you wonder why I made you the button? Because it’s fun to create with my PaintShopPro, your guys are all so awesome, and little buttons are a way for me to feel I’m giving a teeny gift to those of you who come here so sweetly, and so regularly, especially now that I have so many friends I don’t have as much time as I used to to read every post of everybody. Plus I saw you so often over at Lynns’ & Talon’s & other blogs I love, I thought what the hey — I’ll pop in on this Mysterious Desk 49, any friend of theirs has got to be a good guy — and lo, I found some lovely writing and a new friend. I’m not so sure if Im’ for big groups either, sometimes, but we all belong to the Universal Group of Love, and blogging rocks, and such. I hate missing folks too in some way, if ever so small a slight. But I am getting better at not worrying about anything! :) For worry is really not us, as Liara Coverts points out.

Dearest Mike who is seeing rain for the first time since May. We’ve actually had a cartload of rain for the past year (except for the 3 weeks drought when I started driving a vehicle with no A/C. One of “life’s little eye-openers” to not complain (too much) about being so hot in a car. :) Hope you all don’t get any flooding.

Hey Snaggle! Dearest of course, forever and a day!!! Yeah, we had fun that day. Kelly and Kalyani’s daughter dyed each a tee and socks and Kelly did her pants. Gosh, speaking of Kelly she is busting out of all her pants, she grew a lot this summer. Do you mean so many selections of photos/ Ahhh, no! Benches you mean, yes, quite a plethora, and a 5th might round it out even better. You know how it goes with 3s, 5s and 7s in art! Anyway… I think they must trim back those vines, they never get up top too much. The iron is rusting away tho, as iron does. Yeah, I miss the Northern going back to school after labor day thing, anything else just seems weird. :) Yeah, nice sweet hours, and loving to be on a schedule again, weird but true.

Dearest G-Man, well, thanks. I guess they are 11s, one more larger. :) I love to share thing I find pretty or inspiring, so why not make ‘em pop!! :)

And Dearest Lynn, I went back again today, and even tho I had to pee, so cut the walk short, after I went to the loo I enjoyed yoga for 10 minutes in a gorgeous outdoor area. Which reminds me, my buttocks work for today still lies ahead. And that I got 2 $1 Yoga / Pilates DVDs at Target! Their $1 bins can totally rock sometimes!! And that I want to figure out why the DVD player is not working — might just need plugging in to the outlet? Oh, actually, there were quite a few people on the trail, I just waited for clear shots. But up in that circley area, I did have it to myself for a lot of the time.

Dearest Lovely Tony — hi! I have been thinking of you and meaning to get over to your blog. And I probably will very very soon! Thanks for bearing with me not popping in on your lastest post yet, I’ve seen at Lynn’s you’ve something new up, and no doubt deep and / or creative and / or funny. you must have nice parks there to walk and play in? Ones with tall shady trees? :)

Dearest Talon, the bench cried for me daily the squirrels report. ;) And you know, hearing how much you guys like these photos, I actually took ones of the area before I put the shirt on the bench. And others of the swans. Sounds like a great next post!! :) The lighting aactually was a bit better in the non-tye-dyed-shirt ones. Then a little cloud moved in. :)

Dearest Linda. Hi Sweetie!! You are so kind to come back here again, after I’ve not been over to your place in days or longer. Thank you. And guess what?? I made you a button, which I think is SO CUTE!! (Of course, it was a gorgeous pic to work with.) And after I post this comment, then put up a couple Jannie News buttons, I’ll put up your sidebar link-love button. And Linda — if I get REAl brave — I’ll take a pic of that enormous rip up the seam!! Would you like to see that?? :) And Now I am off to read your comment I still have not answered, I saw in my sidebar — then do my buttons!! ;)

Dearest Vered — okay I wanna KNOW!?? What exactly is so funny. The line about my ripped pants, right?? That’s gotta be it! :)

Dearest Hilary, hear Jannie saying ahhhhhhhhhhhhh, these days at happy in a resumed schedule. It’s weird how we divide and sort our modern lives by clocks, but keeping a routine is nice too. :) Yes, BB & Jazmeene back to routines, BB helping me by posing for all his Photoshops. :) And he & Jazmeene join Kelly and I at coffee shops after school, and park walks. Poor jazmeene nearly got run over yesterday by a tricycle. But just a scare — no harm done. Yes, Kelly so far very VERY happy to go to school, loves being in “Big Elementary.” So glad to be back with buddies. And is in the thick of the Silly Bandz rage! has that hit there yet?? http://www.sillybandz.com/ She wantts to get the 1000 for $50 deal! :) She’s now got about 170. Oh yes, LOVE those glasses, they are very good ones I got for free, found under the seat of a car Jim bought at a salvage auction. And I had just lost the plastic out of the left eye of my other pair not 2 days earlier! Am I one lucky person, or what?!?!??! :)

Geez, Linda — you are a stitch and a half!! I LOVE you and your humor, another down-to-earth gal who is not afraid to laugh at my little weird things. Okay so — wear my holey pants OVER my bikini?? SO I won’t have to worry about what shows under the hole?? :) I found the lighting in the pic of yours very appealing. And I am getting better at these buttons now, design-wise, living and learning, I am!! :) Glad you like it, Linda. You are a very special friend and I love your comments here!

I seem to have less time to drop

I loved the video(s) of the pea warbling

    the G-Man was terrific too.
And for you to take us on you walk
and hike and exercise journey is
wonderful; makes most of us realize
we need to stretch much more of our
tired flesh, and work on our butts as well.
It has cooled off tremendously here in
the Northwest; rained like hell here yesterday.
Nice to see TX still lets the sunshine in.
I hope the comment on sun block is accurate.
I had a cancerous mole removed from my
back recently and my dermatologist claims
we all need to wear sun block daily, and
I have resisted, craving the vitamin D
    and generally just being rebellious.
While you were stretching and flexing
there in the park wearing that sports
bra, there were three accidents on the
roadway near it, and one older woman
slapped her husband for gawking at you.
But these things are not your problem,
    of course.

Dearest Glenn, sounds like you’re having a hell of a great retirement, just as you should. It is great to get out and walk in nature. Please send rain and coolness!! Well, temperature coolness, you already send lots of the other kind. Jim had a cancer excised from his neck a couple of weeks ago, but thankfully it was benign!! She wants him to now wear SPF 30 at least. I wear 99 on my face almost daily, but I do like enjoying the sunshine when it’s not hot out. GIve me less than 80F and I frolic on the green hills.

Dearest William, she is LOVING her school so far. Thanks so much!!

Dearest Tess, no! YOU have holes in your exercise clothes?? I can’t believe it! I found stretch shorts for today with no holes at all — not even so much as a stain on them. i LOVED your 40 acts of kindness post for Lori’s birthday.

    Jannie, Jannie,

Hmm. First, let me say that I wonder if you should splurge for new stretch pants. It sounds like your current pants are just getting broken in. A little ventilation never hurt anybody. If you’re hot enough to be T-shirt flinging, I’d be concerned about what might get flung next. I think you should save your infamous bra-flinging for home only. In the interest of keeping that sports bra where it belongs, you might want to get a bit more wear out of those pants. After all, I’d hate for you to be kicked out of your favorite park. Where would you take your artistic donut photos? You may wish to re-consider replacing those pants. I’m sure no one noticed.

    Fondly,

Your dear friend who doesn’t want you arrested for “flinging”
(Who knows what tough sentences they dole out for that?!)

Dearest Patricia, speed walking in the rain sounds like a lot of fun. Dedicated! “Doing everything with love” IS the perfect way to go, for sure! I got 2 yoga / pilates DVDs for Target for $1 each. Looking forward to having Jim or someone hook the DVD player up again so I can test them out. (Player’s been unhooked for over a year, part of the great equipment relocation of last year he did when Kelly and I were in Canada.)

Dearest Jingle, I guess you know that part of our Trail well. As per comments on your site, I left2 at the library, then came home and reopened my laptop and your site was still up, so I commented again! You must be getting a lot of spams to be using moderation all the time? Spams can be so annoying. Kelly LOVES school so far this year. She does do well, yes — and I know your boys do!

Dearest Fireblossom, off to Google Leda, hang on… Okay upon Googling Leda, Texas, this is what pops up. http://www.ledadressage.org/ As in… “Llano Estacado Dressage Association” Llano’s about an hour from here. Don’t know any chicks named Leda. Leda is an anagram for deal, lade, adel, lead, and aled. Other than that, Leda is a mystery to me.

Dearest Davina, and to think they used to have the kids go back mid-August until a few years ago, strange. They got out in mid-May tho. Now they go all the way to the end of May. Kelly’s school actually goes back a week later than the public schools here. After Labor Day sounds good to me.

Dearest Jeanne — I think the pants with the big rip up the back seam are just divine as is! They are navy with a bright green stripe down each outseam. Is outseam a word? :) And the matching jacket is perfectly intact. I suppose I could take a needle and thread to the pants. There’s a novel idea! Maybe today I’ll invest in a spool of thread and save those lovely [ants, the most comfortable ones I own! Jeanne, you are, as always — a Jeanne-ious. Thanks!!!

Dearest LL Cool Joe, those swans might well eat my t-shirt, they can get a little grabby with their beaks. You oughta see them bonking the turtles on the head when the kids are out there throwing bread crumbs! Yes, yes, me arse was flapping in the breeze, or lack of breeze yesterday. Me arse will be covered today with my very bright pink intact pants. :)

    xoxoxoxo and such.

Dearest Hello Jeanne, well I can’t imagine I’m coining that phrase when it comes to you? Just one of hundreds who’s called you that, I’m sure.

Dearest Hello Ching Ya, wow — what have you been working on so diligently for so long? On Internet? You have 10,000 Twitter followers yet? :) I did not get any new pants, am gonna repair my old ones which are still perfect except for the big hole.

Dearest Hello Dot — yep! Kalyani was great at giving out pointers on how to get different effects. And I LOVE the tee, she had bags of stuff to dye and when I felt the softness of that Old Navy light grey tee, I was done for.

Dearest Hello Thomma Lynn, stop the time machine and let me off, I’m tired of going ’round and ’round. :) I have SO been thinking about you, Woman!! Sorry I’ve been a bit out of touch. Working on music a lot, and doing the mom thing, Kelly back to all her extra-curricular activities again. Big BIG hugs to you!!!

Dearest Hello Richard North! Yep, the benches chat and chat all day. In all sincerity, just between you and moi — Lou Neff Point freaking rocks out Bigtime!!! My fave spot on the whole 12.3 mile trail (of which I do 3 miles of on a frisky day.)

Dearest Lovely Hello Sheila — it was my ultimate pleasure to have your voting button I. I miss it. I kinda feel lost with nothing to click on here at the library, at home and one my iPhone. I sure hope YOU win!!!

Dearest Hello Claudia — how AWESOME to see you again. I had hoped to get the pix for my 55 ready but I spent much time on songs. But songs are a good thing. I must model the tee for you all!! And Gee, thanks for mentioning about my title. Goad to hear you like it!

Dearest Hello Dustus!! Yeah, I just decided on a whim to take the reflection in the glasses pic, and it kinda came out great — but of course, now that my pix are so big-ass-big, it’s easy to show what’s in ‘em! :)

Dearest Hello Eric — whoo-hoo!! I have inspired someone!! I’ve inspired someone!!!!! Yay. :) Have you done much tye-dyeing? Thank you for such lovely words, I’ve tucked them away in my heart.

Dearest Hello Paige — right, I keep forgetting about the upcoming long weekend! Won’t get back to my bench until Tuesday. rainy here!! And you guys? I found a needle — now all I need is some thread for my donut britches. :)

P.S. You guys are awesome – in case nobody’s told you that in the last minute!! :)

I love those swans. We need some of those to join our ducks and herons.

Nice job on the tie-dye – I have a fondness for tie-dying shirts.

What a lovely spot, Jannie. It’s nice to have a place like that to go to where you can exercise and relax and just take a few minutes to breath. Nice to have some alone time too, I’d think.

Blue Bunny, I would like a daisy please! :D

Have a wonderful weekend! Hugs to you.

So Jannie has written a song about me….Hmmmm. I didn’t know there was enough on me to write a sentence! But this beautiful, creative, lovely person has done just that. Thanks so much. PS – Our radio station will be ‘live streaming’ hopefully by the first of the year, and we’ll be featuring her songs. Love you, lovely girl.
