You might need sunglasses for this one

One day with my iPhone in mid-to-late spring
my daughter and I, full of zippity zing

did admire 2 mosaics in olde Austin town
in a park where leaves were gathered all ’round.

She who had died her own pants and socks
and me behind the lens in my lustrous locks,

did enjoy the day, and will go back there soon
for another Kelly-Mommy sweet afternoon.

All photos taken at the Austin Nature & Science Center in Zilker Park this past spring.
(These type of bright photos void where prohibited by law.)
posted by you-know-who
with extreme love.

All the photos are inspiring, joyful,
and approaching Abstract Art for sure,
but my favorite is # 4, with Kelly
supine on the wall, instead of just
a butterfly nearly becoming mind melded
and morphed with the wall.
These striking pics do violate about’
11 city ordinances in Austin, and
5 more with Word Press, citing
problems with cuteness, vibrant
and emotional penetrating color,
child labor laws, kinder abuse,
soiled tennis shoes, and a suit
filed by 3 mosaic artists who feel
Kelly’s mere presence upstages
their work.

Good idea to have that disclaimer at the beginning — you never know what kaleidoscopic constellations of bright colors will do to some people’s mental health. For me, it got me singing Dead songs in my head — even the ones where Bob Weir does the lead vocals.

Dearest Alice Audrey — well, I was supposed to be in the recording studio this week but I called to postpone because my guitar work is just not ready. So I got very busy yesterday. And today. And will continue to, to be super-ready — whoo-hoo!! It’s SO hard on my brain playing one rhythm while singing another, but I’ll get it!!! I’ve done it before on other songs!
Hey Dearest Secret Agent Woman — yes, they are lovely, a new addition in the past year, those mosaics. I’d love to go back and see them again soon, now that the outside temps are tolerable and cooler. It’s a fun little spot for the whole family.

Hey, Davina — I KNOW! She looks to grown up in that lighting. Ha — I used to be the last hold-out in sandals too. And shorts! Vancouver must be gorgeous this time of here. Well, EVERYtime of year!

Hi Alessandra!! Yes, one day this past winter my friend, her daughter, Kelly and I had a tie-dyeing party. I did a shirt and Kelly her shorts and socks. I’ll save all forever, of course, since I feel guilty about selling a lot of her cute outfits on eBay.
Ahhh, SuziCate — you are sooooo sweet to say, thanks!! You do have a wonderful way with words, and are a gift to all.
Hey, Joanny — in order to speed up my site a bit hopefully, I went from 5 posts on this Home page to 3 — and you got to witness the Spam, tie-dye and Spandex. What a 3!
And I got to dine on your Beatrice Wood post of magic. Is blogging great, or what!?!?
Speaking of blogging being great… Hi Emmanuel. Well, yes, that button is for you, but also for my friends who may not know of you yet to witness your art. I am glad you like it, tho!! Your shades are cool in that shot!

Wow, that’s super Jannie! I love the mosaics and Kelly’s dyed outfit too. I have always wanted a dyed outfit, and I have yet to dye anything yet, or buy something thats remotely close looking to the rainbow in dye. I love rainbow clothes and Kelly is looking radiant in those clothes. Those mosaics are truly amazing!
Happy that you and Kelly had such a fun time together. Yey for mother and daughter days.

I just love the color, love the mosaics, love the tie-die (can’t believe she made them herself) and really love that last picture of Kelly jumping on the rocks. What a great action shot! The cheerful colors are just awesome. I’m glad you enjoyed your Mommy-Kelly day. Really great pictures!
As a side note, I must compliment Blue Bunny on his raspberry beret. Did he get it from the woman in the song Raspberry Beret by Prince (who became The Artist Formerly Known As Prince and then switched back to Prince again?) Check out that banana split too! I didn’t know bunnies ate ice cream. Or is BB just holding that for you while you put away your guitar?
