The Unknown Mom — World Premiere
Mysteries, Seriously Weird, Videos | Posted by Jannie on 14 December 2010 @ 4:15 PM 44 Comments
Four things I want to tell you about this…
1. Turtle necks come in very very handy for sun protection.
2. The Unknown Mom is perhaps not at peak singing voice at 7:30 a.m.
3. Yes, the lucky blue hat had indeed gone missing again recently, but was retrieved by a stroke of fortune during a rare burst of mysterious activity I’ve heard called house-cleaning.
4. My fave part is The Child’s final note of the song. LOVE that! And her.
And you.
WAIT!! I must edit in this number 5 to tell you I was in an automatic tranny car, with one hand firmly on the wheel, the other holding out the iPhone to tape — so don’t worry! I had my driving under control.
Posted with Love, by Jannie (close friend of The Unknown Mom.)
And please, for blogging improvement, I’d SO appreciate your vote in the poll below…
THANKS!!
xoxoxoxo
I am at the library, but not for long. Gotta take The Child to gymnastics soon.
I had a bath today.
I washed my hair.
I did 10% of the dishes. (Still no dishwasher, but who really NEEDS one?)
I had only to add a bit of lettuce to the salad, whoo-hoo! No onions, radish or tomatoes to chop.
After I drop The Child at gymnastics, I’m heading somewhere to meet Mardi and Tracy for a few hours of beer-ment and song.

I may not be posting again for several days. Gonna get hopping on Christmas. All our family is in Canada.
And mailing the remaining blog give-away prizes — oh but first Kelly must choose which 5 winners get which of the 5 books. She’s gonna put on her cute little baby leopard blindfold to do that.
I will videotape, of course!!
And somewhere in all this I’m going to renew my soul on a walk or two by the river.
I look forward to getting around to read your blogs at some point too!

Ms. Terious Turtle Neck Mom,
What do the passerby cars think of you? Have others bought into this new suntanning method? Have you walked into a bank looking like this? How does this affect beer drinking??
Lovely voices, lovely song…and I truly felt peace…letting this sweet music soak into my soul…

Oh, the unknown Mom gave me a bit of a fright Jannie! She was driving and playing with electronic video taping stuff & I did fear for her well-being as the sun pierced her poor eye-bulbs. But it would appear that they were all right, so my heart is laid to rest again. whew!!
Oh, and good job at getting the kid to decorate the tree. woohoo! My little darlings started to help, but then got distracted half-way through.

My dearest Lynn — I just edited in number 5 up there to let you all know how I did the taping. Blue Bunny was in the back on his iPad putting together some interview questions for lanse, I mean Lance!
My dearest Tony, you were so so close, mere seconds after Lynn. Yes, your prize for almost first commenter is a poem I shall now create.
Tony, Tony across the sea
You are a dear dear friend to me
Pretty awesome, eh???
My dearest Tony, I’m a tricky one to be first at. Except for most of the 55s I do not schedule any posts. A good bet would be a Thursday at 5:55 Texas time, not so sure on the next 2 Thursdays, tho. Christmas is coming! And the goose is getting fat!!!
My dearest Tony, here in Texas most turtle necks are red, white and blue with a big ‘ol yella star on ‘em. I WISH I could get a summerweight one! And a lucky blue summer hat.
My dearest Lance, you mad eme think on that Ms Terious one! Was all set to Google until I got it. Passerbys wish they coud be having as much fun! I am actually working with a patent lawyer about this anti-suntanning breakthrough, yes!!! Yes, I walked into a bank looking like that and they threw all the money at me and ran out the back door screaming. The turtle neck gets a little wet during beer drinking, but that only adds to the fun!
Ahhhh, music and this song are what love and life are all about.
My dearest Katherine, I edited in number 5 above to explain my taping / driving. Yes, I can see how it would indeed give you a fright. My eyes are quite happy. Those are an excellent and probably expensive pair of sunglasses that were in a car Hubby bought at an auction. They turned up, I swear, the day after I lost the lens in my previous pair! Yes, as kids get older they take over ALL the decorating, and it’s awesome!!!
My dearest Daisy, ahhh, thanks. I just decided on the spur of the moment to tape us, and the song spur of moment too.
Yes, this house-cleaning thing, I’m not sure if Im such a fan of it.
But yes, things turn up when I get to it — amazing!!
desrist my talons, i jist loves the karrits — thanks yoo! my jannie sends loves too. and she wil be posting aginbefore christmis, so dont werry, she wil not be gone for long.
Dearest Alessandra — dishwashers come, dishwashers go, but the singing and blogging love go on forever. Thank you, Darling Lady!
Ahhhhh, dearest G-Man. You are too too kind. And Jannie had a delivery to her door! Something that sounds very liquidy and imbibibly awesome. Whoooooo-hoooooo!!
Dearest Jewel — you had no idea of my multi-tasking talents, eh??
Thanks. After I post this, Im going to listen to it again. Such a pretty song. I hear he wrote in in 30 minutes.

The Unknown Mom dropped the child
off at the gym so that she could strengthen
her legs better for jumping and kicking,
and forgot to lower her sweater off her
face as sprinted across the parking
lot with beer and spud nuts on her
mind, and two good old boys pumped
off a couple shots over her head thinking
she was up to no good, what with the
lucky blue hat, the dark sunglasses
and the pink turtle neck pulled up over
your face; but you removed the offensive
items and they both yelled,”Oh damn,
we are so sorry, Miss Jannie. We just
didn’t recognize you. Are we the “men”
you need for drinking buddies and
donut munching pals?” No need to
elaborate, but the good old boys
got to meet Mardi and Tracy,
and pitchers of beer disappeared
mysteriously.

Dearest Jeanne, as you may know — The Unknown Mom will not be getting another ticket for cell phone in a school zone. Or for anything else. If I win at Kerrville, I’ll have Kelly sing the “Everybody’s Beautiful” song with me!! And Kalyani the “Do You Dream” one! Whooo-hooo!!
Dearest Laura, I am so glad this post brightened your day!! Your sweet presence here always brightens mine too. Talk about the Mutual Admiration Society, right??
Dearest Alice Audrey — every time I try that newfangled house-cleaning thing, I’m glad I did. It’s the getting to it that’s the challenge.
Dearest Glenn, here is a photo of me, Mardi And Tracy that night! The technogoly, eh? We had a freaking BLAST the other night at the open mike. Song and beer flowed amazingly. LOVE those guys. And you. And your comment, as usual, made me laugh.
Oh, Jeanne, Jeanne, Jeanne — you have returned to the Funsterment Fold and my heart gives a whirl and a twirl to see your shining-ness here!!! Ah, you are kind. Thank you! I know you love life too. And Panda. And your flowers which are all asleep under snow now, but dreaming of you.
Dearest Desk 49 of 61 earth years, one must never stop playing games!! Life is for love, laughter and fun. Glad you have not stopped. Will you ever? I think not!! You better not!!!! I won’t, if you wont’ okay??

You needed one more question on your poll – I loved it and laughed but I was also afraid for you, because it felt dangerous especially for the kiddo…this comes from a woman who has never been able to drive and use cell phone. I do not even attempt to answer pocket dialed calls when I drive.
…it is very very funny!
Love Blue Bunny’s great attire – all decked out
Yeah! let’s get going on the Christmas stuff. I was number #72 in line yesterday at the post office at 9:30 am….a very nice woman taught me how to use the automatic postage machine – I did it! in about 15 minutes of standing in line and 3 minutes at the machine! But getting my little funny to Davina – the border is about 4 hours from my front door, will be a nightmare – so I am aiming for new years – it will have to go through Toronto and come back. Maybe I should just drive it up and surprise her and meet a blogger in person.
…another scary prospect.

Hi Jannie — let us never forget the tireless toil of the Unknown Mom (cue softly hummed Battle Hymn of the Republic) — she deserves the same honored place in history as the Unknown Soldier, for certain. As a free Mom, I hope you, too, can take pride in the words ‘Ich bin ein Mom!’ Or, I’m sorry, eine Mom — my German is not what it once was.

May be a while before I get to see the video! I’ve gleaned thru previous comments The Unkown Mom is all covered up driving thru bright sunshine while The Unknown Daughter joins her in a spiritual rendition of Silent Night in two-part-harmony. Perhaps a ticket was gleaned or avoided for driving in a school zone with a phone in hand while Music-video-making?!
I too am frantically procrastinating that Xmas readiness thing. I’m Working on a couple things per day.
Good luck with that!

Dearest Secret Agent Woman, did I mention I am extremely vain about my neck and face skin? Pretty-much. Too bad that rash of late disguises my lack of sun damage.
Now, Dearest Hilary — what makes you think those Motorcycle Cops have wedgies? Oh yes, they must from all that bike riding, the skivvies tend to ride up I suppose.
Still feel bad I left Jim off the Motorcycle Cop credit on the disk. But he didn’t mind, sweet guy. A keeper, for sure! 20 years now and hopefully at least 20 more!
Dearest Moon, yes, who knows the places our Kelly shall go? I am looking forward to having her write some kind of melody on piano for my next CD, an intro or bridge or something. She has the gift! Ah, yes, rested now, thankfully. Went to bed about 8:30 on Tuesday night, until 6:30 the next day, and had ample last night too.
WOW! Brian, thanks — I’ll take awesome any day. Great word. People say it’s over-used, but not me. I have got a lot of “Song” on the past 3 days, not so much Christmas, but there’s still a week – -and my Canadian bunch know the stuff will not arrive by the 24th. And if they’re lucky, they’ll get the stuff buy the 31st!!
Shower singing rocks! Or in my case, bath singing.
Dearest Patricia, your concern is appreciated and I am grateful for you pointing that out. Thank you. My eyes were on the road, and I got lucky with actually getting Kelly and me in the frame. Yes, BB has been having a BLAST of late, digging into the Christmas tickle trunk. Hey — remember Mr Dressup’s “Tickle Trunk?” Is it meeting Davina the scary prospect? Or the driving?
I would LOVE to meet both of you!!! And look forward to it one day.
Be back in a jiff!!!

Patricia said,
I believe people like me better on blogs than in person! so the scary part would be meeting someone or ones who I really like -> in person. I do not know what it is but it has happened all my life – the only thing I think it is would be that I am intense in person Here in my small city, I have a professional relationship with folks outside my house which is a role I am – like I talk to most of the homeless folks and the strangers on my walk and listen to what they have to say, I am not great with little conversations.
This is in reply to your reply to my original comment.
I was trying to organize a blog conference around BWOB and Barbara to meet folks – I think something like that would diffuse my intensity.

Dearest Sheila, I had chins but a couple of them disappeared, I guess since I last a few lbs. Darn jeans keep falling down tho. I NEED yoga pants!! Santa????
Ahhh, thanks Dear Joanny, the trees will whisper with your spirit for my album, which I worked on about 6 hours on today!! I went through all 67 of my little recorded clips on my little digital thing and put them all where they need to be. 10 songs in total for now. And I imagine more tunes will surface in the year or so it takes for me to put the cd out. I think I’ll be posting again this coming, um, what day is it? It’s Friday! I’ll be posting at least 2x before Dec. 24th!! Okay, so where are some places The Unknown Mom could turn up? Supermarket? Running trail? Library? Anywhere, probably.
Dearest Caity, me and the other two funsters had a blastio the other night! Mardi had forgotten her uke in the church bathroom so she did not play, but we’ve talked about getting out once a month at an open mike. I’ll be curious to see Christmas in New Zealand!
Christopher R. Edgar!!! You CRACK. ME. UP. The eyes of Texas were not upon me…
Or something silly like that to say to you. Hey, wasn’t The Unknown Comic a Canuck too?? I think so!
Dearest Snaggle, you gleaned very well, grasshopoper. No school zone, I SWEAR!!!! I very costily learned that lesson a couple months ago. $200 fine. I have not been on my cell in a school zone since. Sounds like you are further ahead with Chirstmas than I. I still have my cards from LAST year to mail! I no longer fret about Christmas in any way. It’s a day to remind me to love me and forgive my erring ways. Besides, Christmas gets to o blown out of proportion with all the “shoulds” we tend to put on it.
Dearest Liara, the other day I was being silly and in a passing “little down minute” I laughed. And all was well. Laughter, and music have a formula for healing Einstein, Edison and I are still trying to dissect. Rules 4 humans, thanks for the link!!
Dearest Dr. J, thank you for your loving concern. I am grateful for your caring. I shall pull over before filming next time! The next Unknown Mom will require a tripod I think! And be accosting strangrs in a park to have them taste-test her cookies.
Dearest Ana, thank you, thank you, thank you! A happy holiday to you too. Next post will be Kelly singing from last week, the day we put up our tree. (I think that’ll be next post.)

Dearest Patricia, yes I have indeed picked up on your deep passion on what you believe in, via blogging. Funny you say people like you better in blogging than in person. Do you find you judge yourself during conversations, worrying what people are thinking about you? Or do you maybe judge those you are speaking to, maybe even subconsciously? Perhaps your intensity is due to a self-fulfilling prophecy? Personally, I only know you to be a very lovely person in thought and deed — that is the Patricia I think of.
