My Darling, My… ???

It was Valentines’ Day.

She was nine years old.

She had a present from her mom to open.
What-oh-what could it be?

Napkins?
That’s weird.

It felt warm.
Probably ’cause it was 75 degrees in Austin, Texas.

Ooooo, shiny.

Shiny is good.

And it’s a……
it’s a…..

CHEESEBURGER!!!

“Moooooooooooommmm.”

But look — a card.
And cash! Wow, a whole two bucks!!
Now she could get some fries too!!!

Hmmmn….. the burger actually looked pretty good.
And she WAS hungry after a long day at school.

Tasty!!

But wait, the mom was going to blog this, right?!
Yep!
“Mooooooooooommmm.”

Anybody read that book? I did in high school but forget what it’s about.
Nowto hit publish, see what’s for lunch, play my blue guitar and sing.
Then bloghop at the library, where the computers are so fast!
Whoooo-hooooo.

Aimee — I’ve read both your comments. You make your own cheeseburger for lunch?
Vered
Our blogging minds never stop.
Lynn, I read all his books in high school. Quite a weird but comfortingly farfetched mind on him.
Hi Eric! How you been? Thanks for popping in. Your on my bloghop list, of course!
Daisy — I had one too, from a new place Carl’s Junior, pretty tasty, flame-broiled and moist!

Dear Patricia, food IS love! Gave her energy for our 2-mile hike to come, then gymnastics later. Ummm, veggies from your own garden? how heavenly. And guess what?? Jim, Kelly and I ate potato chips YESTERDAY!!
Hi Linda! 72 is about my most favorite temperature ever! I like in the 60s too, in the 60s I feel like a hippee. And I heard a mourning dove today, lovely way to greet the dawn.
Dear Talon, and do you eat your cheeseburger with a head of cabbage, old style Ukranian way??
My Valentine’s day was full of much goodliness, and hope yours was too.
Dear JEANNE!! I like mine with lettuce and tomatoes, Heinz 57 and french fried potatoes. Big kosher pickle and a cold glass of beer — good golly, Miss Molly, which way do I steer??

French fries are the ultimate indulgence, aren’t they?
I read that book once I think, though I could not, for the life of me, remember what it was about, too. But the title definitely caught my attention

Dear Alice Audrey who is so sweet to grace me with her visits. Well, I actually had picked up a bag of Godiva chocolates for her, and one for her dad, but it was going to blow my budget, so I figured I’d wrap the burger I’d just gotten her.
Silly. Poor hubby only got a card. I’ll make up for it at Easter! Or possibly even before. Maybe even today, by making him a salad!! I already did the dishes — so who knows what could happen next??
Hey Denise! Well, it’s the little things that make life great, eh?
And give us blog memories forever. Oh, I hope you’ll come visit Austin! It’s really pretty and has good food and peeps!! Do you know the general area of Austin your bro-in-law lives in? P.S. Kelly loves reeses pieces! And I like Godiva.
Dear Five Guys Burger Guy… I thought of you on this post!!
And Ferris Wheel Day? Wow! There is a line in my new “Banana Seat Bicycle” song with Ferris Wheel in it. And did you see Patricia said it had been National Potato Chip day on Feb. 14th!?? Yep! And I think it may even have been National Wear Your Mismatched Socks Day!!
Hi tattytiara! What happened to your tiara? And what is tatty? Is that like tattered? Or like tatting, that little crewelwork-ish stuff? But I’m not sure exactly what crewelwork means — but it feels like it might be appropriate in this instance.
I’ll have to Google the definition after I post this! Nice to meet you. Please come back, and often!!!
Dearest Ellis — You have NO idea!!! She says she should charge me $5.00 for each picture I post she doesn’t like.
That kid. I said still pictures — she’s mine until she’s 18, but I won’t post any videos of her she doesn’t approve ever. Fair enough, I hope?
Hi Jewel! Wow, did you take her on a lot of road trips and eat burgers along the way when she was a wee lassie? French fries — o my freaking goodness, there’s nothing like them. The Hyde Park Grill ones seem to win all the awards for best fries in Austin but I much prefer Hut’s. SOOOO good. I could be wrong, but I have this faint recolletion of a dead body in a trunk in that book. I’m serious!
Dearest Snaggle — you know me — weirder than the average Jannie!
Is there an average Jannie? I should like to put 20 Janni’s from around the world in a party room, and see what the average one would be like.
But back to your comment, I am so sorry there are SO many pix, and SO big. I always think of you and your computer possibly laboring to open them. How long did it take to open these? Thanks for bearing with me. First time for the cheeseburger tradition — inaugural edition perhaps?
Ummm, half off chocolate is gooooood! We got our chocolate and strawberries only yesterday, but Kelly was so busy last night mixing yougourt and blackberry sugar concoctions we’ve not yet gotten to the chocolate strawberry creation. Tonight, I think!
Hey, G. She tells me she does have a “crush” in her class, but has not named the boy yet. kids, so funny. It was kind of a sad valentine’s day in that they don’t celebrate in her new, older kid class as they did in her Younger Elementary. Such is life. All changes. All stays the same. We’ll plan to really whooop it up on Easter. And maybe even St Patty’s day!!
And there is the Angel Caity, whom I get to wondering about how she is doing and what she’s up to lately — and there she appears in my comments. Awesome! Thanks, Caity, I needed that. I had other plans — caramel filled Godiva squares. Wait — or are they Ghiradellis? The latter I think. But a cheeseburger is a nice gift, I suppose.
Hey, are you still vegan??

But wait — I refresh and there’s Aimee.
hi Aimee! I have eaten a ton of DQ in my day, earlier day. I used to like their ice cream until I discovered Chick Filet’s ice cream — WOW!! SO good. Are there any Chick Filets near you? Or maybe CF is an American chain only. I like Wendy’s! A lot of the time I’ll not eat any of or most of the bread. Gotta maintain this ghoulish figure of mine!

A salad would at least stay withing a calorie budget. I swear some of the fancy ones can cost as much as the chocolates.
Talk about gifties, I have one for you here.

Alice Audrey, yes restaurant salads can be pretty pricey, I’m noticed. I like to buy those ready-in-a-bag cesar salads for Kelly and me. tasty! Jim doesn’t like the taste of the lettuce. I like to keep the calorie budget down by not using all the dressing.

But wait! WHAT — a gift??? Holey cowabunga. For me?? Wow. And a direct beautifully coded link?? You are toooo sweet. Thank you.

Hey, Brian, would you like your with lettuce and tomatoes?
Hey, Sheila, it was either that or a diamond earring set.
KB — I take it you, like me, are far from a vegetarian.
