You ever find any such awesome treasure on the side of the road?

And thanks all for your well wishes on my whiney last post, when I was feeling sick.

I’m feeling “almost normal” today.  :)   And I hope you are too!

wow Jannie what an exceptional find…and red – even better! when I went two weekends ago to help my youngest move into her own apartment, I arrived and was getting out of the car and there in a snow pile was a muddy, black quarter. I took it as a favorable sign –

I pick up garbage around the Lake and the neighborhood on Friday mornings after the recycling truck has been through – I would not really call them finds! Although I do find that my neighbors are over stuffing their recycling containers and not doing things like washing cans first and crushing them That is disappointing me a bit

Daisy — I had NO idea the beautification possibilities with such a seemingly ordinary object. :)

Patricia, thanks for the good work you do for your lovely town. Would that more people were so conscientious, what a clean world it would be.

    Good night!!

Lane, O Lane you speak words of wisdom, so many treatures await. Many way across the world, but most near the garden gate.

Desk 49, and I wonder if it shall get around even more? Perhaps its adventures in Funsterland have only begun.

Sheila, Oh, Sheila, always a treat to see you here, with your words so sweet. If you want, I’ll send you the straw!! Yes, I would! I’m sure I can find another somewhere.

Aimee — pretty astounding, eh? A person just never knows what awesomeness they’ll happen upon. And once I even found a nice yellow tube sock in the woods!

Talon, well, I’m so glad too! me and that red crazy straw are becoming quite the buddies. It’s too gross to drink with, but is a great dancer.

Dear Brian — don’t ever give up — one day you too may score such a find!

Ahhh, thanks Victoria, so sweet of you to say. Since currently I have only an iPhone for picture taking, it sometimes takes a lot of work to get good lighting. But I’m learning. :) My next art investment is to pre-pay a bit of studio time, then my next little saving adventure will be for a cam I think will be good, and only $250, one I can at least not have to worry as much about the lighting for. But I’ve babbled on, please forgive. :0 And Welcome. It was swell of you to follow me back here. Thanks! Oh, and I’m guessing you liek nature objects best for your found collages?

    Dear Dr J:
So far what trinkets adorn your abode?
A locket? A thicket? A perfect pine cone?
Please keep running and YOU too might find
A straw of your own to rejoice in all time. :)

Hi Katherine of the succulent seafood crepes! You are too kind, but thanks. This post was happily brought to you grace a l’inspiration of my beautiful new straw! And wait until you see my dish drying rack!!! Yep, I msut go now and take another pic of it.

    :)

    Jannie,

I loved that you picked up the straw, which is a pretty amazing looking straw, and gave me lots of laughs in how you used it.

I am scavenger, especially at the beach. I don’t usually go for traditional shells, but like to find the odd things, like pieces of driftwood, or odd shaped things. The other day while walking the dog in my neighborhood, I found a piece of wood that looked just a face. I plan to decorate it once I get the appropriate paint.

Thanks for sharing your adventure with the “red straw”:~)

Dearest Sara, beach objects can be so awesome, yes! I’d love to see a photo of your painted driftwood face one day! We all would, I’m sure. Just thinking of it makes me want to pick up a brush and paint. Which reminds me of something I said to Jim last night “Honey I’d draw ya a bath but I’m really not much of an artist.” Silly, eh? Corny indeed. :)

Jeanne, I so should be in bed! But here I am. I just put up the newest sidebar button for Margaret who lives her life in art. a sahm with 6 kids!! I love the watercolor of a Paris balcony she painted herself that I used for her button.

But about BB’s red krazy straw. You musta missed it last time, I had it up on his header for the straw post. And guess what?? It actually is a photo of the actual straw I found, took it against a white closet door. Then in my photoshopping I removed the background with that tool, resized it and stuck it in his cup! Piece of cake.

And funny, a concerned blogger friend today emailed to make sure i wasn’t actually drinking out of that grodie thing. :) What a concerned buddy! lol.
