Great Peeps Recap 5 + 55 words + 55 more words

Flash Fiction 55, Friends | Posted by Jannie on 25 February 2011 @ 5:55 AM 40 Comments

45 new buttons in this latest recap batch

45 sweet blessings I went fishing to catch.

Some blogging buddies closer than ever

some not quite as close as before.

Dear Wade Porter now gone on beyond

to shine on a different shore,

Wade up there laughing

with Mantle and Mays,

and catching pop flies

in the sunshiney days.

55 words for our G-Man from Jannie

with love to all.

xoxooxoxxo

As timing and life circumstance ended up unfolding,

I did not meet up with Austin blogger Wade Porter*

in person before he died a few weeks ago from cancer.

Luckily —  his love, laughter, light and lesson live on.

Hey, Eric Bubba, Dearest! Well, I’m not sure how to do Blogger blogs coding, but you can right-click on the button and save it to your computer. And then do whatever you Blogspot peeps do with it! So glad you like it. I thought your pumpkin carving was pretty awesome!!

Hey Dot, Dearest, well now I can code them in my sleep (and often do,) but yes ,it took a bit of brain work to learn. Your button is one of my faves indeed. Flowers rock, especially cherry blossoms.

Dearest Suzen, well I don’t fish near as much as I used to. I love the fish I already have in my huge tank!! I like to surf blogs from 1-2 hours a day, anything less and I get to feeling very antsy! :)

Lynn, Dearest, and I love YOU and that benches photo you took. We’ll have to hang out there with our coffees and pastry one day!!

Talon, Dearest, yes, indeed, it’s like we are Real Humans, we bloggers. :) But yes, bloggers get in our heads and our hearts. And Talon, I am feeling GREAT, thanks!!! Just a little cough left. And songs in my heart today.

You have a big heart Jannie and create a collage of love that we all benefit from.

I think most would agree words cant express what we think about our dear Jannie.

You are so talented with your button creations. Isn’t The Web amazing? All of us decending upon the blogosphere, into the tangle, each from our own cozy corner of the world…

P.S Are you taking in any of the SXSW events? I’ve made it my goal to one day attend.

I’m sorry you didn’t get to meet your blogging friend, Jannie. He left other blessings behind for you, though.

As for the buttons, you are such a sweet, caring, and creative person to make all of those. Simply amazing! Must have taken you a long time to do all that.

I hope you have a wonderful weekend! Big hugs to you!

Dearest Moon, and mere words cannot express about how I feel for you and so many others. But picture something like a great big world cruise ship full of us laughing, smiling and dancing ’til dawn. Well, not dancing to dawn EVERY night, of course. We’ll get our sleep (and exercise too!) :)

Ahhh, Aimee, ain’t no great thang creatin’ these. I let my eyes follow my heart and get BB to do all the legwork! :) Yes, quite the tangle! Nope, I’m not much on SXSW attending, but the first year I’m to play there, I’ll be sure to let you know!! Um-kay??

And now, Mama Zen, I bet you say that to other sweeties too! :) But thanks, I humbly accept your kind assessment.

Dearest Margaret, well I hadn’t planned the words beforehand, they just tumbled out, (with a little post-editing.) And I later I will be sure to tell Wade’s friend this post is up. His wife might like to read it too. And guess WHAT?? I LOVE the Paris watercolor painting YOU painted so I could select it for YOUR button!! It speaks to me of all good things.

Oh, Jennifer Susannah! You are just the sweetest!! Are you REALLY real?? :) Or is that gorgeous one in the photos and the voice of the rainy day woman really a hologram?? (Altho Liara Covert says we all ARE holograms, and she’s probably correct!) I LOVE aquamarine!!!!!

Well,my Dearest Daisy, Wade told me I was “kind and good” when I know he of we 2, was by far the kinder, and gooder. It is not easy, death, as you know. But cheerier now… I like this button quilt today too. I have gone from 7 to 2 new buttons a day, [EDIT A WEEK, not a day. 7 new buttons a WEEK, I meant to write!] and poor Vered, I recycled her last one, but I do enjoy making them, and pretty images that remind me of nice people, make me smile inside and be grateful for you wonderful friends.

Thanks Dear Brian — cancer does freaking suck. Thanks for your lovely comment, Brian Miller “POET” as your button (now on my Friends page,) so rightly states!! :)

Thank you dearest Adrenalynn, I was actually going for a full 55 buttons, but I think I’ve already overloaded so many of your with so much code already, I thought 45 might still do the trick! :)

Thank you dear Belinda, I very much appreciate your words. My heart was full on this for sure. There were tears at the writing thinking of Wade gone, and what a tender time this is for his wife and daughter. But life is good, and continues in love.

Wonderful tribute to your friend. It’s very nice to see that his family chose to leave his blog up instead of taking it down.

Sometimes the most troubling of events, like the passing of a good friend or a loved one, can often produce the most poignant words one can ever write or say.

May you find that special blossom this coming spring that will remind you of your friend, and when you do, give it a great big smile and let the fragrant aroma bath and comfort your spirit, because you’ll know deep down that he’s there with you every step of the way.

    Peace.

Jannie, I just happened to look at your blog today and saw the post about Wade. It was very kind of you. His friend gave a eulogy based on many of his blogs and my daughter spoke of him and read his initial blog, anniversary waltz for me. We miss his love and humor so much. He was sorry he didn’t get to meet you.

Dear Alice Audrey – but you are among them in previous recaps, and forever in my Friends page, of course. I have slowed down a bit on them from when I first started posting, but I still love doing them as much! Suzie’s House was a personal favorite, speaking of which, it’s almost Yahoo Group time for me on that!! :)

Oh, G-Man, you got me all blushing! Thanks, doing the 55s and having such great friends is a real joy for me too!!

Joanny — sweet and talented — yes YOu are!! I enjoy your life and blog in art very much. I hope you never stop blogging.

Hi Dustus!! you One Stop Poetry Shorty Finalist you, thanks. I was thinking Field of Dream too! Wade liked baseball, as you may have gleaned.

Dearest G, who means a lot to me too, your words are very touching. Awful sweet of you. And Rayda who comments next is Wade’s wife. wade gave a lot of laughs and taught me to listen more than speak — always good lesson. I am glad to hear his blog is still up. I imagine I shall click back over one day.

Dear Rayda, I was going to pop over to FB and let you know I had posted this, but there you go, getting here first. Wade did have a great gift of humor in his writing which shone through. So many funny posts, well constructed among the wit. And such funny comments here! I think of you and your daughter in these days and I hope you are finding peace among the great sadness you must feel.

Hi Dear Carmen, always my treat to see you. There are so many wonderful blogs like yours I don’t get to as often as time and my heart would like. And look for YOUR button in the next week or so!

Dearest Magic Eye, thank you. Your words are good to hear.

What an awesome button collection you are amassing on the Friends page! 7 per day? yikes! How would you find time to sleep?

Yes in Blogger you can save the pic, then attach a link to it in the editor window. The code would then show in the HTML editor version next to the compose option ontop of the editor text box.

Back to the regular comment… a 5, a 45, a 55, n another 55! You have really outdone the Friday 55! It’s sad about Wade, n I did read the blog awhile back, but you found the good in it-
I agree with Carmen; It’s uplifting in the mood department to visit you here- You are so full of cheery sillyness n surprizes with a dash of verklemptitude!

    I really appreciate your efforts

Dear tattytiara, but you all truly ARE appreciated by me, each in your own way!

Ahhh, Olivia, and I own G-Man for allowing me to meet all you guys!! So glad you popped in. The 55s are a blast!

Dearest Hilary, so sad about your moms friend. It IS hard to tell of death. No one wants to be the bearer. And you are ever in my heart here, so never any worries about blog visits!!

Snaggle, Dearest — your comment made my realize my error above. I meant to write 7 a WEEK, not a day, whew. That would’ve been a full-time job, indeed! Well, Wade was a great comenter here, so I returned the favor. hw was not so much of one to have chase a big bunch of blog readers, but his posts were always interesting and full of wit. Yes, 5s, 5s, 5s, and posted at 5:55 a.m.! Perhaps Great Peeps 6 shall have 25 buttons in. Thanks, Snag, it’s never a post here until you comment.

Akelamalu!! And BB has just posted YOUR button at the top of the sidebar!! He hopes you like it — he’s actually singing a song in it he wrote for you, called… “My Awesome Akelamalu.” !! :)

Hey, Dear Sweet Tess, I’ve learned a lot about peace and love from YOU, what goes around comes around, my dear!

Hey, Glenn, did you ever right click and take your button? Yes, I saw you guys and waved back both times you flew by! Yes, hoping it’s a great camera — the internal memory holds only 9 pictures!! Going later today for a memory card. Hoping for much camera prowess, yes!! :)

Hey, Sheila, I bet they have all kinds of neat thing in heaven. Like — free Jazzercise, cesar salad any time you want it, and the most beautiful letters-writig paper any of us could ever imagine.
