Some of our weekend so far…

dancing_at_huts

The Child and her friend broke into dance at Hut’s Hamburgers Friday.

It’s funny to see them hanging out ’cause Kelly’s a super petite 9-year-old, and her pal at only 11 is already 5′4″!

(I’m 5′ 2 and 3/4″ tall.)

:)

kelly_and_mystery_friend

It’s lovely they enjoy each other so much.

Later at the friend’s house I captured these 3 with my new camera…

Lovely lovely love.

And their house is SO beautiful!  It was featured a couple years ago in “This Old House” magazine.

They have 4 kids — ages 11, 9, 7 and 4!!

Saturday I took a little lady to the bookstore…

a_little_lady

(Did not BUY any books.  We use the library.)

This morning I started reorganizing some pre-digital pix — again!

I’m doing them really supergood this time!

reorganizing_again

You’re gonna be SO impressed with my organization — and the posts of the pix thereof!!

And…

Kelly_Erika_March_2011

Erika came over for a playdate chill session / sleepover last night.

(I’ve been informed the word “playdate” is “so five-year-old!”)

Well, that’s it!

Jim, Kelly and I are heading out soon on a hike, whooooohooooo.

Anything to say, ask or add?

With love, from Jannie

P.S. All pix are with my new cam.  Still trying to learn the settings.

Sounds as if the Funster clan is having a good weekend. Hope you take your camera on the hike as well. I love that quote on peace, by the way. So many times we think of peace as being an external state rather than an internal one.

    I love the quote on
    “the value of a child”,
and it could be used with
    the word “spouse” as well.
    Weekends in Funsterland
    as SOOO much fun.
A lot of Kelly’s friends seem
to tower over her. But the
cool thing is she will always
be able to shop in the petite
section that has all the best
stuff in it. You sure are lucky
to have BB around on bra
patrol. What Jim should do is
make bra hooks on the ceiling,
    and instead of hanging plants
you could have a Texas hanging
    bra garden.

Looks like an awesome busy, fun weekend! I pulled out my camera this weekend too, but we were more in to the chillin’ side of the weekend than anything. So playdates only go to age “5″? Good to know. I struggle to keep up with the times. :)

I just got back from dropping the kiddo at school and I’m in a songwriting mood, as I tend to be every Mondy morning, so I’m going to slip and dip my heart into lyric tweaking for a bit, then come back to give all your wordgifts big smoochies.

And my new tune — BANANA SEAT BICYCLES — is about 94% finished lyric-wise now, whooooooohoooooo.

Dearest Aimee, can you believe I had forgotten to charge my camera batteries? It happens. Oh well, many new hikes await. Yes, I LOVE that quote on peace, so true.

Dearest Paige, did you go on your hike? I am not happy with the backlighting possibilities on this camera so far. But otherwise — I LOVE it!

Dearest Glenn — you are so right — the value of all beings, human and otherwise always supersedes the power struggle at hand indeed. Bra hooks now installed!! :)

Dearest Lance!! hey, dude! Are the croci pushing up yet? You back in your flipflops?? I hope so! :)

Dearest Lynn, Hut’s milkshakes are the BEST in Austin! Kelly and Erika are so happy they will be back in the same school together next year! It’s been 4 years since pre-school for them.

Dearest Daisy, well I will post about my Fabulous Photo Organizational Revelation. Simple, but effective, I think. :)

Dearest Weyrd1. Yo! I love all but the backlighting dilemma. hmmmmn, maybe the $700 Nikon would have an answer for that. :) Oh well. But I LOVE the macro and anything in ourdoor lighting!!

Dearest Talon, oh thanks. It does take a little effort to get her some playdates, and such, her being an ony child and such, and not living in the same neighborhood as most of her friends. But I manage to do well sometimes. :)

Dearest Denise — hey! I was pretty exhausted by Sunday night. :) I think sleepovers take a lot out of a parent, but I’m nicely rested up now.

Dearest Katherine, I’m struggling to keep up wtih the times too! She’s a tween, but more like a teen in her thoughts and words. ;) Any warmer today, this Mardi Gras??

Dearest Jeanne — let me guess, the youngest of your household was the happy one with the snow? All melted now? Tulips popping up yet? ;)

Dearest Patricia — I LOVED Victoria the one time I was there. Did you pop in to The Empress? Were you visiting friends or family? Did you have to carry your passports? Gee, it’s been so long. 1986. It was windy here too this past weekend, but warm.

Dearest KB — hey, thanks. It’s fun experimenting with the cam. I think the “Peace” one turned out best of all, photographically speaking. My fave is her with the book.

Dearest MoonDust Writer, ahhhhh thanks. Recharging souls is my main blogging purpose! Love YOU to bits. And I am wondering what I shall post about next? Maybe some typos? Maybe a poem? Not a sing video quite yet, my throat is still tender. But I am smiling!!

Dearest Dot — come play with me! We’ll go to the Botanical Gardens, then a beer garden. :)

Dearest Laura of love and light — dittoes to you on all. Sharing pix is SO MUCH FUN!!!!!!

Dearest Belinda who art in San Francisco, yay — I totally did not know it was Women’s History Month! i post this comment in honor of all our feminine forebearers who forged our way for fun and frolic!!

Dearest Vered, yep, Im not a real tall one, but I pack a whallop in some respects. :)

Dearest Secret Agent Woman — she is totally into the Wimpy Kid Diary series. In fact we nare now listening to it on audio CD in the car — liking it!

Dearest Jeanne, your name IS in the song, as I sang it to you, but I couldnt’ quite work in the dill pickle line to make it work. But you are IN the song, baby!!!! Whoooooo-hooooooo.. And I LOVE the song, whooooohoooooo. Just have a couple lines to adjust and it’s done – it shaped up rather quickly, relatively speaking, whoooooooohooooooo. Glad your phone dilemma is worked out!!

G-Man whoooooooohoooooooo. Having fun with my new cam, for sure. Can’t wait to upload the pix I took yesterday, see if they are as sharp as I hope. Caught a purple pansy with a new setting — flowers in bright outdoor light.

    Dearest Jannie, whoooooohooooooo.

Dearest Hilary. :) :) Back to the furure, perhaps? That was such a GREAT movie!! With my comments at the top of my posts, maybe it does get confusing somewhere somehow sometimes. :) Just glad to see you when you pop in — a song in my heart always.

Dearest Davina, yes, and the Child’s polka dot pants, look exaclty like some Blogspot backgrounds I’ve seen. Totally!!! :) Yes, Sweety the pooch — he’ll stick with a human 24/7 who pets him!!

SNAGGLE — dear Snaggle, fast computers are taken for granted by those of us with them. Yes, that swing shot was not to be missed. Kelly is so funny. And her pal too, they both have very exuberant personalities. She got those shoes hand-me-down as she does for so many of her stuff, her being so little. Great like-new stuff. Ahhh, what a great citizen you are to be doing your taxes so early! Hope your refund is LARGE!!!

Hi Jeanne! I want to sing the song on video for you guys soon! I worked on writing out the chords for it today in B, but I’m thinking A, capoed on fret 1 to Bb may be the ticket. What do YOU think?? :) I plan on singing it for you all a capella, tho this first time. Hope you don’t mind I did not insert the words “dill pickle” into the finished version? :) Ahhh, shucks, you like this song better even than Sugar Lady and I Need A Man With A Chainsaw?? :) And the WEDGIE SONG!?!!! :)
