Amazingly, it’s envelopes!

12_march_2011_10_thirty_a_m

Yes, envelopes!  Who knew??

Big ones, about 6″ x 8″ (30 x 40 cm,) great for including loose 5×7s.

I wrote family and friends’ names on each correspondingly, then arranged ‘em alphabetically in that cute box above.

I oughta patent this, eh?!  :)

27_love_envelopes

I need more envelopes, tho.  I have a LOT of friends and family!

Plus, all the house remodeling stuff!

Ooooo, I’m gonna have SO many great pre-digital photo posts for you guys!!

Hey, Jo Miffo — my lovely English penpal since 1994 — do you see YOUR envelope at the far bottom left ??!!

Now, let’s go on a reverse time lapse of my ingenius photo plan, shall we?

Excellent!

Wheeeeee…

Tammy! You have returned to the fold, my prodigal one. :) And btw, that picture I saw of you on your site — you in the sun, HOT. And beautiful! You could go to http://www.gravatar.com and hook that photo up for your very own gravatar, so you won’t have to be Punk Rock Blue Bunny anymore when you comment here. Yes, the envelopes are working out nicely so far. I’ll be able to easily find most pix I want.

Yes, Darling Jo, you were the first envelope with 3 hearts! The one for My Family has 5 hearts, Jim & Me 3 hearts, Ann 3 hearts, Diane in Australia has 3, Jim by himself has 3, “Great Posts” has lucky 7, and THE PEA — Kelly, has 3 BIG hearts. And her envelope has the most pix in! I’ll need more than one envelope for her, at least. And hey — do you know what, I have finally learned what <3 means!!! THANK YOU, JO!! What would I ever do without you?? Ahhhh, where so I find the time? ;) I send Jim off to work and Kelly off to school and I has all the time in the world. :) Is it still raining? It’s getting quite overcast here. But we’re at least going to go in the car to some indoor place of excitement later. Grocery and book stores, whooohooo.

Pascell & I went shopping for bikinis :P then we went for lunch together, that was lovely, we also shared a bottle of wine, which was just dandy & I hope you & Kelly will do this when she is of age:P

I then dropped her off to finish her assignment, before she went off to ten pin bowling with an ex,ex, or some thing like that :/ I have difficulties keeping lately :P

I then did the food shop :(

Hey, Jo! I’m at the library with Kelly. Surprisingly, I have not brought wine with me. ;) Having a cuppa. No real cream here at the library, tho, just that fake “edible oil” product. Still, it’s caffeine. And it’s free! :) OOooo, did you BOTH buy bikinis? Kelly says she’ll never drink alcohol or coffee. Gosh, it’s so hard for me to picture Pascell as a Real Woman, her being still a wee kiddo whenst last I saw you guys in the flesh. I should go bikini shopping soon! Or knit my own out of kelp. Or rip old bed sheets and tie them around the appropriate locations on my anatomy. ;)

Dearest Hilary of the lovely hills — I’m doing a post about you in the next week, or 2 — just so you know!! Well, not really ABOUT you but you are the STAR of it, if that makes any sense at this point. :) That being said — hello!! I’m afraid we gave that laundry basket a fitting burial in the dump. :) But I can send you any or all of the following via the tube… 2 freshly baked apple strudels (BB had those left over from the 20 he made for the “orfins”) a nice wool sweater in canary yellow with a giraffe knitted on the back and a horse on the front, and a six-pack of BB’s very own freshly brewed lager ale. :) yep!!

Many of my photos look much like your laundry basket except mine are in several boxes. A couple of the boxes were from my parents’ house. Maybe someday I’ll figure out a way to organize them all. It’s a daunting task, though! I admire you for tackling the job in your household and conquering it in such a successful manner. :)

Hey, Dear Daisy — I guess photo albums for each person would be nice too, but having them in these envelopes at the ready it’ll make them easy to find, and scan to show you never-before-seen Jannie things. :) Is IS a daunting task, took me 6 months to get my nerve back up to get to it again. but ‘m glad I did.

Dr J.! Ahhhhh, I think the digital photos are MORE of a task to somehow organize — I now have my laptop hard-drive with photos on, plus the hard-drives from my previous 3 computers!! And some pix on a flash drive. But I pray to the Lord to keep me sane realizing all is unfolding smoothly, and will continue to digital photo-wise! BB sends smiles and hugs to you!! :)

Yes, my Dear Hilary — I see BB was over to you with the news that some little post or another concerning you has been evolving over the past couple weeks!! I’m not sure how the final chapter will go — but I’ll know by the time I finally get to the post Office!! :) It shall post either for this coming 55, or the following one. Dearest Hilary — lucky commenter # 14… How come there is no real meat in minced meat?? And no scallops in scalloped potatoes?? ;) Yes, I have gotten some pix together for the Hilree post, and shall take a couple-few more. Wish me sunshine for the photo session! Misting here today.

Dearest Sheila — I’m sure I’ll end up with a big box too. :) If I can make it a purdy box, I’ll feel good, tho — like I’ve been sucessful in my quest. And of course, I’ve all those big photo albums too, but at least I can actually SEE the photos in them, and they’re somewhat chronologically arranged. :)

Dearest Alessandra aka A… :) Ahhh, what’s the Italian word for “blushing?” For that’s what you’re making me do with your lovely words. Whoooooohooooo, “pure genius” I think I’ll repeat that 100 times today about myself! :) Thanks for your vote — reminds me, I have yet to check the results. I bet most like the random schedule idea, just my gut feeling.

Dearest Lynn — whoooohoooo! I’m getting there. So many photos to scan. I found more Castle ones — I made an envelope for those too, as I know there will be many more castle stories for you — I just feel it in my heart.

Dearest Lisa, Chicago, Chicago… Well, may I be proud of myself for this? :) I am! I figure to scan and show you a bunch of old photos, interspersed with my current painted toenails will be my new blogging plan!! :) My light pink polish is actually holding up not bad since I put on another coat yesterday!

Dearest Vered, well it only took me a year of ruminating on this to finally settle on a plan. :) And yes, I DO have this skill — who knew??? :)

Dearest ROBBI!!!! How could you possibly know I never put my hat in the same place twice??? And I am always searching for it, speaking about my lucky blue hat, of course. Alas, with winter fading to green and warmer temps my lucky blue hat, which is a warm one must be put aside until November — but maye I will store it in a place where I can easily find it. A closet might be nice!! :)

Hi Jannie .. ready for history lesson? In dem olden days .. meat and fruit were mixed, often with vinegars and wines .. then brandy came along, then spices, then sugar ..which moved the pie on to dessert .. so they separated .. meat pies were meat .. but mince pies were fruit and spices – as we have today.

Scalloped potatoes .. just from the shape they’re piped out .. the scallop shell is the traditional emblem of James .. Medieval pilgrimages on the way of St James to the apostle’s shrine at Santiago de Compostela in Spain.

You’re brilliant ..another firmament star ashining … BB take note! … making us laugh so much .. wish you were here for my photos .. then ‘d we have loads more pix to put up – hysterics then …. cheers for now .. Hilree xoxxox

Dearest Hilary — did you have to look all that stuff up? Or did you already have it stored in your lovely noggin’? That’s so NEAT about the evolution of the pies. Do you know the evolution of donuts too? :) Beignets. Fritters. & such. :) Wow, James — was fished by The Great Fisherman, I believe? Fishers of men. My hubby is actually a James, as you may know, and I kid you not, he LOVES seafood. Will eat it over my preferred beef. Neat!! It was he who kidded my Aunt Freda over her potato scallop not having any scallops in it! :) (He does not like potato scallop, corn chower or mac and chees.) he loves corn on the cob tho, and grilled cheese. Funny. Someday I well may indeed be there for your photos — who knows where the road will lead us.

Ahhhhh, thanks Adrenalynn — it was a bit of a logical evolution I guess, this Amazing System of mine. :)

Yes, Jo!!! Actually I don’t much remeber any food — jsut the booze. ;) :) And I have 2 of the leaves currently out of the table — so much fun to make it longer and shorter. 4 leaves come out altogether. Did you cook the potatoes at my house? I’m not really crazy ’bout the chairs, I’d rather something cuter, but they ARE much better than the olde olde ones we had gotten for free when we were just starting out. And how are your orange crates to sit on these days????? ;) :) :)

Hi Jannie .. well the mince pies I knew – but checked! The scalloped pots I guessed .. donuts – now surprising to me .. seems the Dutch Americans introduced the donut .. I thought it was the Dutch .. as they were in South Africa earlier than the US of A .. but who knows – seems 1803 was the date!

Beignets .. courtesy of Wikipedia .. n France, beignet is an umbrella term for a large variety of pastries made from deep-fried dough with fruit filling. The tradition of deep-frying fruits for a side dish dates to the time of Ancient Rome

Of course I knew about St James of Austin .. did I really Hilree – don’t lie now … ?! I fancy Jimmy even more .. a Saint and the man who loves seafood .. and a man who loves a laugh .. sounds good to me … corn chowder I rather like though .. better be off somewhere into the night time to do a bit more blogging .. cheerie bye .. cold and frosty here!! That is quite a project. My pictures are in the original package when I got them developed. I have written on each envelope the who, what where or when that pertains to the majority of them. I don’t sort mine at all. More recent decades are in their original development envelopes with the film negatives. Old ones that got taken out n I want copies of- managed to lose the negs. sometimes doubles get taken out tho. I list what’s in the envelope, month, year, folks, on the outside white area, then put them in plastic-covered tubs or boxes in chron order. I have gazillions. Got my first cam at age 10- They’d never fit in one box- got several pic areas here- like the tubs best.
I guess this mem card thing will save me tons of future space!
