Dearest Alice Audrey, I know — the lighting made me look all peachy-pink in that close-up hair shot. I’d actually describe my color as early morning wheat field filled with romping bunnies. :)

Hey, Monkey Man! I had forgotten about the purple hues. I think that shall be my September shade! And great to see you. I believe The Mailing shall take place Monday. Or Tuesday.

Hi Janna — you always crack me UP! Pizza sounds good. Clean laundry sounds good, tho the process to get it there bores me. Still, at least we don’t have to beat our clothes on a rock in the river.

Oooo, Katherine, I sayshayed into spring in delicate pink too. But it appears by the votes I shall next be sashaying into scarlet — and no doubt all the trouble that wearing red gets me into. :) And guess what?? The Mailing takes place early this coming week!!

Oh, thank you dear Rachel! Consider me now sticking a big gold star on this post, as per your rave review. :) yes, red creates drama indeed, draws attention to the toes — I better be sure to keep my legs nicely shaved with the eyes that will be drawn downwards to my bombastic toe paint!! :)

Hey, Talon! Yes, Sweety the dacshund is wonderfully featured here indeed. He does like the limelight!! :) It was a great dinner, tho I had overdone the prime rib a tad, so I’ll have to cut back on my “cooks nips” next time. :)

Hi Beautiful Alessandra!!! Always a treat to have you pop in. And did you vote for the scarlet toepaint too?? :)

Hi Dear Lynn, well, I have to admit now that I know how to buff my nails and do teh whole shebang, I’m a bit of a cheapskate to pay for a pedicure. But… I think I could be taken out to dinner on that pedicure $$. :) And it seems my toesies will next be scarlet!!

Budaaaah!! Glad you enjoyed. Yes, I’ve been doing my own roots for about 7 years now. Same color, tho the Lorreal 9A used to feature Harry Hamlin’s wife, Nicole. Took me a while to get used to the new gal on the box. :) But I did! And touch up my roots every 6-7 weeks or so.

Yo Austin! hey, I remember that band — Blood, Sweat & Tears! I look forward to reading your 55! I’m planning on blasting some blogs at the library later. “Blasting” because the library computers are so super fast.

Tess! Tess!! TESS!!!! My one and only TESS!!!! Glad I could make you smile. And speaking of smiling, I do every time I go running on the trail due to a certain wonderful new pair of New balance sneakers!!!! Yes, come for dinner, but we may not be having prime rib. Just donuts and beer. :)

Hi AmyLynn — awesome to meet you!! Just dive on in there and do those roots YOURself! where do you live? I can come help you!! It’s not hard, and you will LOVE the money saved. Thanks for popping in. See you on your blog soon — or “relatively” soon, as I may be up in my tree drinking wine most of the day. :)

Margaret Dearest — I KNOW! Once that chipped old paint was off the nails look positively Amazon-length. But soon they shall be lovely and amazing. Ah ha — another vote for the light pink!!

Dearest Hedgewitch. I have only recently started keeping my toes up — for this blog!!!! :) I really miss the Maybelline Wet Shine Diamonds I used to avail myself of. It lasted FOREVER. Um, just call the hair and toes VANITY in me!! :) ever flying the flag for you and my wonderful peeps.

Dearest Jo, speaking of eating tables I can’t wait to post the GORGEOUS photo of you, me, Andy, Jimmy and your mom and dad at that pub in wheres-it-ville you lived when we were over in 1999!! Don’t think I have any pix of you at the Texas table. Do you? You’ll just have to git on back over here, Woman!! :) :) :) Hey, how is Jenny in Tennessee?? Oh, and Jo — when I do the post with you in it can I use your FaceBook page as a link for folks to friend you up???

Dearest Vered — I thought for usre wtih your firery red lipstick you’d like that color on the toesies!!!!! :)

hi Dearest Eric Bubba Alder. yes, I agree on the sweet pink ushering the spring in. But us with our early spring in Texas, I’d done the pale pink in March, then moved on to a something weird — metallic salmony darkish mystery. So should I go back to the first pink or press onwards past the salmon-ish, to red. Hmmmn, what to do?? :) I LOVE your idea of what I’ll call “aster” colors for fall. Oooo, October and Nov. colors here.

Thanks guys, I’m going offline a bit now, like for 2 minutes!!! (Maybe??) :)

I did 15 minutes nice vocal warming up. And think I’ll work a bit (fun a bit) on a song I’m writing called “You.” It’s for Jimmy, and is a jazzy torch ballad. No cowboys eating beans ’round camp fires in this tune tho. Not that I know of. :) :)

At $70, since my hair is so long ( I don’t want to cut it ), I can’t really afford to do it at the salon! Whenever L’Oreal goes on sale, I stock up.

Hi Dear Belinda — more than awesome to see you !! I pretty-much have the hang of the root doing now, but I guess a second post might highlight the actual steps involved! maybe I will one day, for those Googling in need. Scarlet — thanks. still have to tidy up my toes at this writing, been having fun in Songland thes past couple hours.

Hi Hope! I am not sure if I’m going grey or not, but I did go darker and darker as the years flew past. So I’ve got my childhood color back! And I might never find out if I AM going grey. :) Whatever a woman wants, as long as she is smiling and active in life — let her color her hair as she does or does not desire!! Oh, and I thought after my serious poem in my last post, I’d lift things up a bit around here. Such is life, the joy with the pain.

Hey, Carmen — what’ your exact L’Oreal shade? Maybe I can send a box for your long-hair cause!! I always have some left over, my hair is so fine and I only do my roots and brows (but please don’t tell anyone about the brows, okay??) :) :) It helps me to put my already-dyed hair in one of those butterfly clips, and just squirt at the roots. But yes — it can get messy! And I did stain a bra once, boohooo.

Dearest Olivia — please come to Austin Texas — I will re-do yours, the parts grown out. I’m very good at it!!! I do my roots, then put dye throughout all hair for the last 5 mins, to help even it out. Me perfect?? Not at all my dear — I just got really lucky in that shot with the lighting, and my upper arm flab was not showing. I have been walking a lot lately, tho. And lifting 3lb weights as I go, one of those is about 1.5 kg I think. I walk and work on my deltoids, lats, biceps, triceps and interpersonal communications skills with the squirrels!!! :) :) Your green toe paint sounds very very nature-ish and refreshing!!

Hi Steve! Glad you liked it. Thanks so much. And please don’t think I’ve been avoiding your blog — slowly but surely I will make the rounds to all you wonderful peeps.

Hey, Mama Z! have you ever gone blonde? It might look grrrreat! Just lighten your brows a bit too. Like,if you leave the dye on for 25 minutes — do your brows for the last 15 minutes of it!!

Dearest Ayala, who has 2 sons, hi! Well, I was just being a little silly. Glad you enjoyed. And I clipped my nails this morning and shaped them. next to teh cuticles and buffing. how I suffer for my art and blog! :) :)

Dearest Aimee, yes, and I see I also forgot to include the all-important steps of doing the dishes, sweeping the floor and running 3x around the block naked at night in the steps. But with only 55 words, ya gotta pick and choose. :) :)

Dearest Nimue, tahnk you. Yes, I’m quite the Olde Pro now with doing my roots, a simple system I seem to have perfected. Red or white wine does fine — tho champagne seems to be the ultimate bath beverage. :) :)

Dearest Verse Bender, again, I really stepped in it over on my last post, eh? Geez, red in the face me. To reiterate, I mean mostly The Dead Poet’s Society. — NEVER YOU!! Plus what is age — I’m 47 and just getting started!! :) Truly!!

Dearest Steve E — hair is a wonderful thing, or can be. I like mine! And I think the bald spots are growing back in, tho I missed my dr appointment last week to have a pro check. But back to the future… Yes, my man has a good eye. :) My artiste, Jimmy — he built ALL the wood in that room. I mean — he cut it and put it up, bought from new pine boards the consistency of true love. He did the floor himself too. Child has had bangs cut since then.

Secret Woman!! Dearest, I totally agree on the naked thing! :) But the mailman might nver leave out front doorstep if I go back to all the nude stuff. Well, except for clothes ironing and bacon frying — not so great naked. :) :) I think you guys will be seeing deep blood red on my toes next!!!! :)

My Dearest Shanae, I know I will feel like an idiot when you tell me about the heights thing I must have referred to here. I am not a fan of height either. Oh wait!!! YOUR post — yes the iron workers on the beams way to freak up over NYNY. ME NEITHER!!!!!!!!

Dearest Steve of the Traveling Hills, please don’t tell a soul but I let them lie fallow 3 weeks, and went for the light pink again.

I like the reminder above from Eric Bubba of the more dramatic tones for autumn.

    Salmon in August.

    Rose in September.
