Belinda’s Dream
Flash Fiction 55, Photography, Poetry | Posted by Jannie on 13 May 2011 @ 5:55 AM 38 Comments

Belinda in San Francisco
dreams she’s riding a white pony
through a sandstorm of pink roses.
Beautiful Belinda I’ve met only
in blog posts and comments,
as I’ve met most of you
who knock politely at my blog’s door,
you mysterious sweeties leaving
cake and champagne on my top step,
each of you just as awesome as my blue guitar.

55 words of fictional reality inspired by the “Belinda’s Dream” shrub I recently met in our Bontanical Gardens.
55 words for the one, the only, the incomparably incomparable – G-Man.
xoxoxoxoxoo to all.

What a beautiful rose – with a beautiful name. I like that you put a story with it. Have a great weekend, my friend.
Blogger is having maintenance issues, so that’s the reason our posts disappeared from the last couple of days.
They say all will be restored soon. Let’s hope.

Sometimes I feel like I just barge right in, but I think that’s the unspoken open door policy.
I’m glad you share your blue guitar with blue bunny.
You might have answered this already, but what is your favorite color?

Awww, Jannie dearest!
I LOVE what you’ve done here!!!
I adore pink roses, I heart your words, and in my dream, your songs are playing in the background.
Thanks for making my day, Ms. Jannie with a blue guitar. (And since G-man won’t be making the rounds to read your awesome 55, allow me to wish you a KICK-ASS weekend!)
xoxo

Hi Dearest Lynn! Well, the name fascinated me, and how could I resist sharing those beauties with you all. Fun it inspired a poem. Yes, I know — that is SO frustrating with teh Blogger Issue. Hopefully they’re making things bigger, better and brighter for us all withe the maintenance!
Hi Dear Teahouse! It must be getting more than lovely in your big bouncingly beautiful town. I’d like to explore Central Park in spring. Or fall.
Hi Suzen! And these smell sooooo good! Oh shoot, are you not dreaming sweet things? That may suggest issues you are worrying about in waking life. And hey — no charge for the dream analysis.
SWEET dreams to you — look at these roses directly before going to sleep, to ensure marvelous good dream adventures!
J.D.! You barge on in here anytime!!! And don’t be afraid to grab a drink from the fridge and make a snack. You fun comment reminds me that somewhere in drafts I have a poem started about the different ways I go to people’s blogs. I must look that up and finish it!! Funny, but I grew up in a house where the more the merrier was the rule, so I guess it’s spilled over to my blog party here.
Um, my fave color (today)is HTML 006699 — let’s call it Jannie-sais-quoi blue.
Oh, yes, my little sidekick BB plays, and is also a great teacher to me!!
Hey, Alice Audrey, well I have this list of abouat 1200 nouns, and I go down the list until I hit upon one that makes a cool image. yes, Jannie just revealed her secret!!
I also have about the same amounts of verbs and adjectives in files, but I don’t use the adjs much.
Hi Belinda!! you know, you are the ONLY Belinda I know but I think God made it that way so I’d see these Belinda roses and write a poem for you. Do you have my “I Need A Man” cd? I forget. Well, had you ever heard of Belinda’s Dream roses before?? I thought it was the coolest thing, and am grateful a poem popped out of me that was worthy of your very very amazing self I am grateful to know.

You know, I’m sitting here on my back deck finding some new blogs to read – and it’s beautiful out today. I was sitting back looking at these photos and reading your story – and a light breeze blew through the drapes hanging on the back deck. It was utterly magical. Your words are fantastic!

Wonderful 55, Jannie. I like the way you spin a tale with such lovely images in so few words. Very nice.
Oh, and I left some cake on your doorstep. Make sure you warn Blue Bunny so he won’t step in it.

Now, Christian, are you sure you don’t say that to all the bloggin’ ladies??
Ahhhh, how lovely, Brian, thanks.` — and I’ll trade you some champagne for a beer? Bud is it you drink?
Darling Moonie — yes, and do you love those whirling twirling autumn leaf storms too?
xoxoxo
G-Man — totally!! And did you know I did TWO biology projects simultaneously in 10th Grade just so I could go all the way to Moncton for the Science Fair?? Cooincidentally, Kelly just scored a 99 on science on her Iowa Skills test!! Botany baby — it’s in the genes!!! Speaking of botany, and thinking of beer, have you botany lately? Bought any??
Groooooan.
Ayala! I’ve been blogging 2.7 years and have only known Belinda for about the past 8 months or so, but she does tend to grow wonderfully on a person. I can only imagine all the excellent blogging things in store for us all!! whooohooo. Her and YOUR writing knocks me off my feet!!
Dearest Daisy — I will let BB — but if anybody is to “step in it” it will be I — I’m so talented at that.
thanks for the cake — love you, Girl!!

Janna!! Yes, glad to be on Wordpress, but sad to not be able to comment on all my Blogger buddies’ posts. I look forward to checking out what I know will be a weirdly-wonderful Janna 55 from your uniquely Janna mind!!
Hey Alice Audrey, I could send you my word lists as e-mail attachments, if you wish, they are just general words, tho, not specifically for regency England, or any part of England or any other nation.
Linda, Linda, Linda — yes, I eventually get around to visiting those who comment here. And you have a lovely site full of love and faith! yes, 55 words mkes us hone our craft, eh??
Hey, Margaret, but in my dream of Belinda’s Dream, a dream within a dream, I don’t know if the pony was leased, or not.
Hey, Sheeeeeeeela (yes, pronounced a la WALL-E) — I think there must be a Sheila’s Dream shrub somewhere!! Yes, roses are shrubs, as are gardenias, azaleas and camellias. See — fun AND educational here!!

Dearest Snaggle of the midnight magical way, she is my first Belinda indeed — well except for Belinda Carlisle of “The Go-Gos,” not that I’ve ever actually met HER, but I’ve sang her tunes here and there in the rain…. yes, she is a special writer — me her via G-Man. Yes, I wrote and posted the following little poem over at G-man’s over the whole Blogger fiasco…

Hi Jannie .. that pink Belinda rose is beautiful .. and I’ve seen Belinda Munoz around the blogging world. And you did two science projects to make sure you got to the Science Park .. and Kelly getting 99% .. that’s brilliant – I bow down to her ..
I took a red rose in for my Ma – and she said how beautiful, how perfect a flower .. and what a gorgeous scent it has … I shall pick more of those!! No idea it’s name .. and Mum asked me if it was a climber .. it looks like a sturdy rose bush!
Cheers to all .. the time of roses and wonderful scents .. xoxxoo Hilary

See! I have retuned…
Patricia — are you aware how your typo dsiturbed me a bit, until I realized you probably meant “plaque,” not the “plague” as you wrote it.
Well YOU should know about lovely connections, you have been very very lovely to me always.
Secret Woman —
anapricot rose would be lovely. Have you any on your garden? Do they have a particularly fond or deep remembrance or significance for you?
Dearest Hilary , a single rose can be all we need at times for cheer and beauty. YOU are a single rose to me, but one that never fades, so that’s a bonus!! Actually, you keep getting rosier and rosier to me.
Ahhhhh, LLCoolJoe — you ARE cake and champgne to so many of us here who know of you, your wit, wonderfulness and the art you share in bling, hat and sculptures!
Yes, I think “Belinda” means pretty. I wish I could Be Linda, ha ha.
Ah, thank you Shanae, and I must try to contact you again about your sidebar button. I am not sure what site you wanted it linked to. Well, you have a way with words too. And I know you will never give up on writing of some kind as its in your heart and soul as for so many of us.

Ahhh, Patricia, I know — focus. I’m really trying to do that with the 2 songs I’ll next be taking to the studio soon.
It’s a joy to flit about in the camraderie of all you guys’ wonderful blogs, reading and commenting, but that does not for a good guitar and singing session make!
plague / plaque is one of the funniest typos I’be read here.
CONGRATS on finishing your class!!!!! hope you celebrated a bit!

These days I am “allowing” myself to be the artiste who will bring my songs to many people, and am cocooning at home in my mystical magical songmist. Writing my little heart out, and having fun answering comments here.
Yes, you and Belinda are two sweet sweet wonderful dear friends of mine!
