Yes, Jo in England and I have been penpals since 1994!
The Penfriends International angels sent her my way.
She’s this gorgeous one…

You may have seen her commenting here of late.
Will she ever get a blog?
Who knows?
Who knows what the marvelous Jo will do next?
She is on FaceBook, tho.
English pubs are good.
Beer is good.
But Jo is even better! And better than vodka shots too, which she likes.
She is a freaking aweome, wonderful FUN person, and I love her to bits!!
I sure will be happy to see her in the flesh again one day!
Sadly, her mom is no longer on this physical plane, but she’s here in her beautiful spirit for sure.
I’ll be showing you lots more of Jo and my other excellent penpals, as time unfolds.

The Granny Awards! Love it. The award for giving the best hugs or most creative knee bandages perhaps.
It’s lovely that you and Jo are pen pals – I’ll bet that was a fun meeting.

Grannie Jannie,
You and Jo make perfect panpals! LOL Your hairdos are pantastic. Did you two panbroil pancakes and did it create pandemonium? The heat on your heads must has caused some level of panic.
Please ask her how it is that she looks younger now than she did in the 1990s. Does she have access to the Fountain of Youth or something? My heavens.
Of course, we all are accustomed to seeing your youthful, dewy glow. Perhaps Jo shared some of her stash with you?
Please save me a seat at the Granny Awards. I think honoring Grannie Jannie at those awards is a must-see event. I don’t want to miss it! Pure pandemonium!
I tried leaving you a comment a few minutes ago while I was out and about. It was going to be the first blog comment I ever left via my phone. However, when I tried backing up a screen when where “post” is the only option to fix a typo (yes, a typo), the comment vanished. So, it’s either (hopefully) in the ether somewhere or it’s sitting in comments moderation (not recognizing my phone as a previous commenter). If it’s the latter, please would you be so kind as to delete it?

You & Jimmy look no different now than you did there you lucky burgers, there must be something in the water in Texas
Girl you look good…
Andy as a brown beard, where as now it is grey, he tells me that it turned grey due to the fact that we have lived together for 30 years, such a cheeky so-n so.
ME!!! OMG how bloody big am I… Jeez… I now understand when Joe the German told me that I would be a beauty if I dropped a few pounds LOL which I have now, but not because he said that to me…
Nice seeing my mum there smiling
thats really lovely, she was so pretty
You have now inspired me to have a good root through my photos of when we went to London & to Les Oaks Antique farm… I’ll be sending you those my dear via facebook soon, well soonish!!! Oh & not forgetting that one of the most important things for you to do was to go to a good old greasy fish & chip shop.
The shoes I have on in the photo were my very favourite shoes ever & I had them for many years until a Indian woman at Niagara stole them from me at a hotel me & my dad stayed in 2 years ago
It seemed such a long time ago when your letter dropped through my letter box, promising to always write back to each and every 1 of my letters (I think you might owe me one hunny) A young bubbly blonde from Texas who I instantly had a connection with & who got my sense of humour, which at times can be a little sick & disturbing to say the least :/ ( do you remember what I wrote on the envelope of the letter I wrote back)
I know that we will meet again in the flesh my friend, cuz it is on my list of to do’s, also I have to meet Kelly
You are a very special person Jannie & I’m so glad & honoured that you are in my life, for ever & always…

Well, here I am with a bit of creatively-driven insomnia so I better make the most of my UP time and see what you all are doing.
Lynn! Ahh, and baking the best caramel cinnamon buns too!! Yes, we’ve met 3 times now. She’s come to Texas twice, but not since I was 3 months preggers with Kelly!
Aimee! Yes, BB was just full of it for this post!
he does delight in being a part of all this blogging fun.
Vered! Yes, it’s sad to lose them. Luckily I’ve remained close with 11 gals in England, Wales, Ireland, Scotland, France, Germany and Australia. Tho I owe them ALL letters at this point!
JEANNE! JEANNE!! JEANE!! Yes, much pandemonium over those pans. But crazy glue kept them in place. I KNOW — she looks so freaking pantastically good!! And she’s my age. Just got those genes, I guess. Oh — blushes — thanks about MY dewy glow remark!
Oh yes, indeed — saving you a seat for sure at the grannies!!
And the after party is so going to rock!!!!! Cool about your new phone. What kind is it?
Lance! Hey — Financial Guy — you who knows about IPOs and mismatched sock holding and such. how is the olde toe paint these days?? Still red? Or are you in softer pink now?
Thanks, Lance! I tip my stein to you too. And my lucky blue hat.
Dr J! I went to an Irish one too on that trip!!! It was incredible and my pal was so so so nice — and she still is — Eunice, tho yes, I owe HER a letter too, and a CD. Ireland rocks, all my relaatives are from there.
Jewel! It is a rather intriguing photo at first glance, yes.
I wonder if you can find your lost pals via FaceBook??
Alice Audrey! Well, I had to find a relatively flat pan, which I did, and it worked out!! Thank you dear lady.
JO!!!!!!!!!!!! I like that you are at comment number 10 because you ARE a TEN!! Yes, we managed to keep those pans from sliding off for the photo didn’t we?? I thought we never would but we managed pretty well!
(Keep reading — the whole rest of this comment is to YOU. I broke it up into nice small paragraphs to hopefully make a nice easy flow for your beautiful eyes.)
Yes, lots of beer in the Texas water!
Fountain of youth beer.
THIRTY years — omg, that is true!! When you were 17. Holy cow. me and Jimmy are almost at 21 years since our first date.
I NEVER thought you were “big.” Not at all. But you are sure slimmer and more gorgeous than ever now!!! And funny but I’m about the same size now as when I was with you, but I’ve been a bit chubby in the interim — had Kelly and all, then took a while to lose my baby fat.
Joe the freaking German. Jim gave him the boot a few years ago. But I imagine he reads every word of this blog!!!
Don’t you, Joe??
Yes, your mom was very very pretty. And I see how you look like her. But I see your dad’s sparkle in you too.
By the way, have you had work done on your teeth? They look AMAZING!!! Were they that gorgeous when I last saw you? I forget. I need to get mine “touched up” a bit — but not “torched up”
Les Oaks — that was the name!! I have some good photos of Jim and Me there. And LOTS more photos of you and me and the “Poop” and Andy and such.
Oh, you made me laugh about your shoes being stolen! Even tho it’s not really funny to you.
Yep, fish and chips.
And visiting The potteries!!! I could barely lift my carry on with all those freaking Franciscan Desert Rose plates in it!!!!!
Yes, we did have that instant connection and have remained so. Can’t imagine life without you. And don’t ever want to!
Yes, I started that letter to you in 2009 — and will get it done soon, and send a CD to you!!! Less blogging — more time on writing letters for a bit would be good.
Still have ALL your letters, of course! I’ll have to dig that first one up again. I forget what you wrote on the back.
But I DO remember the one you drew a sketch of you naked in, with lovely gravity-defying bosoms!!!!!!
Remember?
And there is only one Jo! And I LOVE YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Well, since that will be a hard comment to follow, I’ll get to the rest of you sweeties tomorrow.
Toodles!
Wish me sleep.
And songs.
And love.

Weyhey… I was waiting to be comment # 10… Although another reason I haven’t been on ya blog is because I’ve been poorly :’( Poor little jo as been feeling dizzy & sick with a really bad headache, but I’m feeling muchy better today wooooo Oh I’ve had the sweats as well or because I’m a lady :O perspiring would be a better word. Wot the hell I sweat like any other human being & some times it smells, there you go everyone knows
some filthy, dirty bug gave me their germs, so it wasn’t my fault!!!

I would like to have them whitened but its far too pricey…
The really funny thing about the Indian steeling my shoes was, by the time we had drove from Niagara to Boston I had wound myself up so much, if I’d have seen her in Boston I would have ripped the bitches face off LOL Good job her husband had her tied to the kitchen sink cleaning the pots & pans 24/7 (not sure if I’m allowed to say that, but heyhoo its too late!!!) My dad kept saying we would see her in the harbour trying to get the best price for them. Excellent shoes that I had had for almost 20 years, so almost antiques themselves
No work done on my teeth baby cakes, just lucky I guess, although my mum had great teeth & so does the POOP
Les Oaks… Wot a guy, although he got killed getting out of his lorry one windy day & because he didnt look both ways across the road another lorry hits him. theres a moral in that story somewhere!!! “always teach your children to look both ways when crossing the road” I do believe that his wife Mavis & his sons still run the place, but I haven’t been since we went 2geva.
Can’t wait to receive my letter that you started to write in 2009, is it coming via snail trail??? & a C.D. too, that poor snail will have a broken back by the time he/she gets to blighty
Thinking about that letter that I sent to you with my naked self on, oh dear you poor, poor dear, what have I subjected you to in the past, I think in one of the first few I wrote on the envelope DO NOT OPEN IF BAD LANGUAGE OFFENDS!!!LOL
I would love to start a blog, but the truth is I have no bloody idea how to…
Well I’m off to irritate myself in the mirror now!!! Take care, have a good day & I’ll wait patiently for my letter to arrive through the letter box in my front door… oooow I’m excited now, hope I don’t pee my pant
Love ya girly wirly xoxoxox

Hi Ayala — I am so so so blessed. I have all these wonderful ladies flung ’round the world — and I actually got to meet 9 of them on my whirlwind European tour, 1999.
Hi tammy! You are very very welcome for the button love. It will rotate down, as you may know, then drop off — but be forever on my Friends page.
Yes, Secret Agent Woman!! That is IT!!
Anc won’t forget my Granny glasses!
Daisy, you AND Jo are very very special people, and I don’t ever want to imagine life without either of you!! I am so so so so blessed.
KB — I do too!! And maybe she will. I read in her later comment she doesn’t know how, so I’ll have to get her started on Blogger, or at least point her in the general direction of how to do it.
Darling, Darling, wonderful Hilary who comes from the blogging mist to make my day always. Thinking back on this “Last Supper” (everyone on one side of the table,) meal I think it must’ve been Jim’s wine — he was a wine boy in those days. Now a teetotaler. Teatotaler? Anyway, I think a couple of us must’ve moved from the other side of the table to have the waitress get us all in. And I’m so glad we did — it’s a very special photo to me.
Dearest Snaggle — your comment REALLY touched me and made me think that maybe it’s a good thing indeed to have me.
No, but seriously, thank you. And the rest of your comment was funny. Me in the blue wig and olod dress. I’ll take the stage and announce “But, I thought this was the GRANNY Awards.”

Ahhhhh, how lovely to surface from the mysteriously magical musical mists to be with you lovely peeps who have graced me with your comments.
Jo, I’m really sorry you haven’t been feeling well. I get these freaking headaches too, I think once Kelly’s school year is up and I have a more relaxed time they will subside. But do you know WHAT????!! ON Kelly’s iPhone (no she doesn’t have an actual phone # yet, tho she sure wants one,) she has this ap wil trivia, and one of them was “20 tart cherries can alleviate a headache, by reducing the inflammation — I’ve tried it 3 times now, and it really had worked. Oh stinkiness, yes I know — have to bathe almost daily!
And much much more in summer!!!
I think you should be able to figure out pretty easily how to do a blog — I suggest Blogger, as it seems to be very good. You can probably have a post up for us to comment on in about 15 minutes — or less. Click here… https://www.google.com/accounts/NewAccount?service=blogger&continue=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.blogger.com%2Floginz%3Fd%3D%252Fcreate-blog.g%26a%3DADD_SERVICE_FLAG&hl=en&sendvemail=true&followup=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.blogger.com%2Floginz%3Fd%3D%252Fhome%26a%3DSERVICE_ONLY&naui=8 and poke your way around. And lots of my Blogger Buds will be more than happy to help you if you wish. Blogger is owned by Google, and requires you setting up a G-Mail account if you don’t already have one — but it’s free and pretty easy to do. I am on a Wordpress Blog and those are good too. Sweety the dachshund who is now almost 6 ate MY best shoes when he was a pup, the rotter. Yes, snailtrail mail for your letter indeed!! And it’s on a nice “Nice” card, as you like that part of France. I love EVERYTHING you’ve subjected me to, Dear lady!! Hey, speaking of peeing one’s pants, I have not in like a whole week peed mine, whooooohooooo!!!
Friends, I need to head to the BATH!!
I’ll be back here later, and also back to the remaining comments on the other posts here on my front page.

Today is a lovely sunny day with a wind thats just strong enough to blow all the cobwebs from outa my brain, I just love days like this…
I’m wearing brand new knickers today & my regret is that I didn’t wash them b4 wearing as they are rather itchy, which is not comfortable when out in public!!!

Hi Ben, and an official welcome to you. Blogging is awesome, asweome, awesome, yes. It’s given me some real gifts of friends!
Katherine — shoot, I have not gotten to the P.O. yet. Forgive me. Hopefully tomorrow, or Monday. but I can’t wait – the P.O. can be a fun place. Yes, my prized sockholder, Dear Katherine, your P.O. pressie is a TRIPLE sweet deal, with actual giftwarpping! Oh — now there’s an idea for a photoshop — a warped gift. Thanks for the inspiration!! Yes, great new friends all the time.
Well, Jo, it’s been less than a week since I peed — but just a little leak here and there.
Oh, which reminds me I have a good line in a song I may write called “Trampolines” about not jumping on them anymore because of the pants peeing condition.
Oh, my goodness on the photos. I hope I don’t look too weird in them somehow??
I’ll click on over there maybe tonight when Kelly’s at her dance, yes her first ever school dance tonight. For grades 4, 5, and 6 — ages 9 to 12. She’s actually supposed to be in Grade 3 for her age, but she was so smart she skipped a year. Anyway, she has a new dress, and everything! Bought for only $5.99 at Savers! I’ll be sure to take a pic tonight. Now she is doing a painting after school for an art auction on Sunday from 1 to 3 — it’ll be fun. Jimmy and I may go listen to a bit of jazz and get a bite while she’s there. have a teensie bit of a headache — tho it’s lifting thankfully just talking to you — thanks. But I’m so freaking-fracking sick of eating those effing cherries.
(I’m poopin’ real good, tho — that IS a plus. )
We’re so bad. But good!
Today is humid and sticky. had a fun morning at Kelly’s school where we played our last concert. I play in the band each Friday morning. but that’s my last time ever!! Well, actually probalby not, as the school is like a family, they’ll want me back when my music is big — and I’ll headline for their fundraiser — mark my confident words. Ah, I have one pair of knickers, but I don’t know where they got to? Maybe that’s why I have this massive wedgie??
Did you know that you are my bestest friend in England, with Hilary Melton-Butcher a close second?? Hey, Skinny kids love candy too!!! Kelly would have it three times a day if I let her.
As I did, or tried to as a kid. Did Pascie??
Hey, J.D.! Yes, any granny who loves her grandkids is a big big winner to me!!
Dears Sara, it is funny these antiquataed terms eh, like Commodore 64s, and lots of other things I can’t think of right now.
Um, the last part of your comment was so sweet and fulfilling to me in my current musical evolutionary stage. Thank you! And you know you are very special to me, right??
Hi Alice Audrey, you are so nice to come back over. Yes, I did swipe it off Google. I have one pan, grey. But I like that blue one. i’d put a photo of it in here bigger, but I’m too lazy? Forgive me?

I had a pen pal too for a long time, I think my folks wanted to help me think globally as a child and not just about the poor starving children in China or Africa, because they kept saying the world keeps changing and so do people.
I think many of us are surprised when our image does not match up with the movies! It was fun getting my east coast cousins to think we still have cowboy and Indian ( Native Americans) uprisings and we lived in a fort and took wagons to school ! Now as adults they live in Western Canada and know better
Thanks for sharing – frying pans???

OH MY GOODNESS !!! I had the best dream ever last night & you were in it, how fab is that???
I moved into a house across from yours & when I was getting my mail you came over & gave me a pie you had made & then we sat on my back lawn, you drinking coffee & me tea & we were laughing, then you showed me how to dive into the pool I had in the garden!!! Then in the morning I opened my bedroom curtains & Jim had extended your house into a castle & the sign outside said ” For my princess” fantabulous

Its a smaller one & its more economical & kind to the ozone, bloody hell listen to me, thought I’d never say anything like that!!! Probably I will want my RX8 Mazda back tomorrow… I’m gona take it out for a run to Ikea, then call into my dads on the way home… I might play ZZ Top all the way there & a more soothing bit of jazz on the way home, cuz my headache is still with me, but not as bad

She sounds like a happy kid…
I have to agree with you that trampolines do spoil your underwear, but also they make my boobies wobble, now thats a brill word WOBBLE!!!
Pascie loved candy as a kid & would sometimes trick me into letting her have more than she should have, but now I’m not allowed to have it in the house because she fears that she will eat it all & put weight on!!! My, how things change as the kido grows older….
Today I’m picking up a new car, well its not exactly a new car, its a old car but new to me
Kelly is smart like you my dear & I’m sure tries her bestest at everything she does just like you… How is her head doing??? From the staples I mean is everything ok??? I hope so
Bye for now sweet cheeks, have a brill day & I’ll drop by on Monday for a catch up ( hope I dream about us being neighbours again tonight )

Yes, I’ve been so so so blessed by Jo. She’s put up with me all these many years.
And blessed by you who asked me very early on “How do you share your music?” Where was the penpal YOU had? Oh, yes, it’s funny — when I was in Germany one of my buddies, Heike thought Texas was still the cowboy wild west too. Funny the images we get. Yep,”PAN” pals forever.
Hey, Shanae, well there is a lot to blogging I’ve learned as I’ve gone along. It’ll be 3 years on Sept 22nd since I started. Spammers like to get in your comments to get potential link juice. Yes, Borders!! And boy, will I take you out and show yoy fun Austin that night. Maybe plan a gig I can play in your honor!
Hey Arts Web “Meistro with the Mosto” — yep, I got into the Pen-Palling a few years before e-mail came along for the masses. PenFriendsInternational is headquarted in Dublin. I was in Dublin in 1999! When you and I play there let’s all go pubbing after!!
JO, JO, JO, JO, JO, JO !!!!!!! I actually MADE a pie — that HAS to be a dream, for sure!!!!
I used to make pies, tho. Lemon meringue ones. Hey — remember you sent me lemon curd one time. And that marshmallow body lotion?? LOVED both, but not as much as I love YOU!! Ahhhh, what’s funny is Jim HAS made this place into a castle over the years. Pascie sounds like a normal kid — never met one who didn’t “like candy and fresh snow,” to quote Dave Matthews. I have “old” new cars too!! But I hope to switch soon to a white one — my black one I’ve had since Dec. 28th wil be too HOT now that summer’s about here. It was nice and cozy tho. Smaller and economical is the WAY to go for sure. And Jo — I have only 2 more shcool weeks of driving Kelly!!!! I’m in the freaking car 2 hours a day Monday to Friday, except for one afternoon of carpool wiht another mom. plus more for schlepping her to gymnastics — which she LOVES, and just got moved up to Level 3!!! Super Sonic Sleeping Bag, Sharp Dressed Man and She’s Got Legs — crank it, Baby!!!! In the non- headache state, of course!
F-ing headaches.
nBut mine is GONE!!! And it’s 5:26 a.m. here, about time to make me coffee. Thinking fish sticks for breakfast. Kelly’s head is doing great, thanks! Poor baby. Me and Jimmy had a wonderful soothing walk on The Trail at dusk last night while Kelly was at her dance, at which she had a BALL!! Took some nice pix of her. The little girls all in their “prom” dresses — growing UP too fast! Actually, thinking of asking The Other Mom to bring Kelly home this week from Monday to Thursday, drop her off at our library which is basically on her way home — so freaking TIRED of all the driving. And it takes me out of my creative space I get into, which may be part of why I get headaches sometimes — my inner being does not like having its creative time taken away from. Nice dream! Wish we WERE neighbors, but we always will be in our hearts!! And YOUR sinning is WONDERFUL !! I’m at a place in my singing that i can almost do it now, just need to be sure to “sing out” more — but I think I’m getting the hang of it. have a great weekend!! I may post again soon. Kelly wrote a really really funny poem about her math book!!! High ropes, yes, just don’t string me up too high — I do have a fear of heights.
Dearest Hilary of the Heavenly Hills… yes, I’ve made you First Princess and Miss Congeniality wiht Jo the queen, but as you know, she did come into my life about 15 years before you so I guess I’m excused on that, eh??
Oh, and before I forget I know I still have your comment to answer onthe Mother’s day post, about Nova Scotia, and such — see, I do keep you in the back of my mind. And at the tippy-top of my heart. Oh, BB is coping great!! In fact, he loves the busy business of blogging!! he florishes, whoops, flourishes under “pressure,” that trusty “blogging manigemints” type!!
