If Ever You’re Sad, Dear Blogger

Photography, Poetry, Sidebar Buttons | Posted by Jannie on 26 May 2011 @ 12:31 PM 36 Comments

git yourself on over here
and gaze upon your button
on my special Friends Page,

knowing that you are very
special to me, and not diluted
in any way because there

are so many buttons now,
and growing — when I stop to
design and code a new one

instead of walking the windy song moors
swimming with Blue Bunny’s dolphin friends
and photographing mystery flowers.

And if you don’t have a button
yet, or dream of me making you
and Even Lovelier & Better One,

just keep on popping in here
and commenting, knowing that
sooner than later I will notice

your Extreme Awesomeness,
make a friend connection with you
and lo — ye shall be buttonized,

which comes with a 24 / 7  invitation
to join me up in my wine-drinking tree
for as long as we both shall love.

Oh to be a Funster follower
and to be the recipient of a
    Jannie blog button; that is
bliss–and it is way cool too.
You have been so very gracious
    and generous with your button
    creations, and believe me, there
are those out here dodging tornados,
dancing in the rain, that find
your buttons a panacea for panic,
    for depression; for you shed
light where it needs to go,
and we love you for it.

I have been remiss in dropping in
of late, being the retired poet who
now has the me-time he always

wine; and I just realized I have the
    distinct honor of being the

    Whooo Hoo, look at me!

Ahhhh, you guys like me! You really like me!!!! :) :) :)

Glenn of Retirement Bliss. And I’m lucky I got to retire early in life, to this song heaven! I love you too! And I like making the buttons, I really do. I think about 1 year now since I first started photoshopping, BB hanging way up in the air with his “karrit” Remember?? I was SO proud of me that day!! Congrats on being FIRST KOMMINTER, whooohooo. And enjoy that dandelion wine!! :)

Hi Olivia!! Oh, I had SO much fun writing YOUR letter for the Mystery Parcel, writing things like cake, wine, beer, donuts and all that. :) :)Always GREAT to see you!! Photographed that outside the library. And not an expensive camera, $200. How many rupees would that be? :) Actually, I think you should see about a career in advertising, with those excellent descriptive words!!!!!! :) hugs to YOU too!!

Ahhhh, Eric, thank you!! Me a sweeheart — that wonderful compliment will do me for at least a month of Mondays to light my way with shining friendship beams. The REALLY nice one in the family is actually Jim!!! He supports and makes possible all this Funsterment. :) Well, I have a safety net Blue Bunny has rigged up under my tree. :)

Ahhhh, Vered — I think we may meet up yet in person in this realm!! I hope so. And it will be with beer and donuts somewhere along the meeting!!! :) Thank you. Your sweet words touched me deeply. I like you too!!!

NEO!! I guess since you called me Smart Ass in your first comment here (deservedly so) we have had that friend connection and you will be one of the next ones to get a button. With a zipper on it!! Kinda like that Stones album cover, way way back then.

    And it’s me who knows
    The way to go
    Me who holds the key…..

Hi Jannie .. great blog post – beautiful flower – lovely words for all your funstering fun friends, who live to love and live to drink red wine up a tree, and croon with the croonsteress herself and her offspring … but methinks me and BB might do a quiet little slope away for a quiet natter nearer the ground .. as he does good karrit stix .. and probably an avo dip or a humungous hummous mix .. and I’m sure Glen will kindly donate a small bottle of dandelion wine to share, before we go off into the ocean blue to see BB’s dolphins … live to love and see you all soon .. cherry bye for now .. xoxxoo Hilree

Weyhey – Ya sitting up a tree drinking red wine & wonderfully enough I’m thinking this looks normal & I can see a branch for me to sit on near by to drink white wine (red wine makes me barf & that’s not nice at all) We’re a couple of crazy muva chuckers who love to drink alcohol & sing to make our hearts content 😀 😀 😀

Over here in blighty the skies are grey & its tipping down with rain, not good when we plan to go camping this weekend 😀 😀 😀 We are going to Somerset in a campervan Andy came across it as some kind of a debt to him from a customer & in his words “a good idea!!!” I’m hoping we will have fun & frollocks even though it will be raining… In a perverse kind of way I’m secretly excited, but on the other hand I’m thinking that my hair will get frizzy :@ BOOM BOOM

I love the dew on the flower pic, its beautiful & you have a brilliant eye for beauty & I also love your pink cap that you wear to protect you from the suns rays – I have questions :-
    1. who took the pic of you up the tree?
    2. how did you get up the tree?
    3. how did you get down the tree?
    4. how long were you up the tree?
    5. how did you think about drinking up the tree?
    6. why are you so freaking amazing?
    7. did someone pass you the drink once you were up or did you balance on your head while climbing?

    I love ya curls baby girl 😀 😀 😀

Hope you have an amazing weekend gorgeous & think of me freezing cold & damp in the campervan while you bask in the Texan heat… bye hunny bunny xoxoxox

    This son-ov-a-bisciut gota go buy sleeping bags & other essential camping gear!!! Wish me luck 😛 😀 😛 😀 😛 😀 😛

Dearest Patricia, the Universe sent me a typo in that. I had written as long as we both shall live. I like the Universe! It knows things, good things. Well, having a big library summer kickoff for the kiddoes Saturday, that’ll be fun for Kelly. And hanging out at the lake pool on and off all weekend. They have wi-fi there!! Are you doing something special? Wait– everything you do is special!!

Dearest Hilary, BB and Jazzmeene are digging a tunnel through to Bob’s Bombastic carrot and broccoli garden, whilst the song cocooning crooning one drinks her wine. He got a bit of dirt on his sou wester hat which he wears for all the digging and he’s in the shower now with it.

Dearest Linda of the fine wine locale. Red, white, blush or bubbly? IN red give me a pinot noir, in white something super crisp and cold, but no blush –not my cup of tea that, nope. And bubbly — just about anything will do. Yes, Memorial Day, whoooohooooo. have a good one too!!

Dearest Aimee — in Corel Paint Pro, that knockoff photoshop I use, there is indeed a feature under Effects — called Buttonize!!! Here, I made a little photo for you to show you the degrees of Buttonization… The one on the far left is not buttonized at all. All you do is set the amount of pixels deep… Buttonized

Fireblossom, buttons, buttons, who got the buttons?? I lieks them too. Of the ones showing I think the prettiest are BKM’s, Hope’s and Clean & Crazy’s. I like the proportions of the artwork on those.

Anyhooo, I gotta run, got a kid to get up and to school and such.

Mr Tambourine man .. carrot and broccoli garden sounds mighty fine to me .. the crooning one probably needs her red vino early in the morning .. long night of cooing gently …

and BB’s getting read for the day by having a shower .. while ensuring his sou’wester is sparkling clean for the great outdoors and for the humbling experience of meeting 70 year old Bob ..

See you all soon .. lol and big hugs .. xoxoxoxoxo

Hi Dearest G! Something about that big old New England mansion you photographed jumped out at me and said BUTTON!! Yes, of course on that other thing, didn’t answer all my emails yet. You’ve been a very good and faithful friend to me since the git-go of my early days here. Peace, Love & tranquility — sounds like a great daily motto to me! Hope you have that too.

Dearest Belinda, Malbec, eh? I’ll have to check that out. From the French I know I’d say that translates literally to “bad beak.” Wow, work, eh — as in a Real Job — too intrusive on a happy blogging existence, that’s why I avoid it as much as I possibly can!!! :) Ahhhh, I’m glad this post fed your soul. I’ll try to keep it up.

Dearest Jannie — see the lost comment was not the end of the world!

Dearest Betsy — and it was YOUR strawberry shortcake, the one you made and photographed on the grey table on your deck. And I know it has been the best strawberry shortcake ever made on the planet. I like the font I used for yours, but I’m not sure what the name of it was.

Dearest Daisy — well YOU are one of the other sweetest bloggers around!!!! And you will no doubt be buttonized yet again, as time unfolds!!! With a guess what?…. If you guessed daisy flower — you are right on the money!!!

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, Dearest MoonDust Writer — thanks!! There is a certain je ne sais quoi to drinking wine in a tree, yes. Adds to the bouquet. And the squirrels enjoy the company. And the wine!! :) Love ya too, Baby!!!

Dearest Jo Of The Rolling Meadows… let me never serve you red wine. :) Please send all that rain and coolness. I LOVE camping!!!! Kelly and I go twice yearly with her school, each family responsible for its own tents and stuff. Even tho we’re leaving the school, we’ll still be going back for the camp-outs. The kids LOVE it!! Here’s a post I put up about a year ago about one campping trip — back when my pix were much smaller… a mere 700 pixels wide. (The ones now are 790 pixels wide, whooooohooooooooooo.)
http://www.janniefunster.com/2010/03/28/spring-camping-on-the-texas-perdnales/ All those camping pix I took wiht my iPhone. Do you have an iPhone?n I freaking love mine!!!!!!! Okay, as to your inquiring mind…. Kelly took the picture of me up the tree — about 6 months ago. (I used it in a previous post.) I wasn’t really that far up it, so not too hard to climb. I flew down on my angelic wings. I was up only as long as it took for the picture, maybe 1 minute! while I was up there I thought about how uncomfortable me arse was but I had to suffer for my art!! I thought about drinking in the tree, because I am one weird little chick!! :) I am so amazing because you are my friend. I held the wine in my hand as I climbed, I mean flew — on my angel wings. I LOVE CAMPING!!!!!!!!! Happy camping shopping!! Don’t forget the frying pan, trash bags and a bottle opener!

Dearest Hilary, Hey Mr Tambourine Man, play a song for me. After I stopped listening to the Stoness Non-stop from the ages of 16 to 19, I listened to Dylan non-stop from ages 19 to 26. Well, I did sneak another artist in here and there, but those were my faves. And these days it’s all about ME and MY music (narcissistic, eh?) :) as I shape up me new tunes. But enough of that!! Oh gosh, I can imagine me with wine in the morning — I’d be stark raving loopy all day, well until I fell asleep about noon. :) :) how did you know Bob is 70!?!?!? You are GOOD!!!! :) have fun in the rain, if it’s raining, and even more fun in the sun if it’s sunning.

Well, you know Dearest And Coolest Of Cool Joes… Sorry your face was not as happy as I like it to be. But glad a smile came to it. I do love making the buttons. As I’ve no doubt mentioned ad nauseum here, I am SO NOT an artist in the sketching and painting way but my humble program allows me to unleash my inner art tigress!!! See you in the tree, Joey!! :)

goes off now to work more on “Me.” And there’s always lots and lots of work to do on me!! :) :)

Hi Jannie .. yes why do we listen to one set of songs for ever .. I did too – Imagine later on, then Queen in my dare I say it 40s and 50s and now?! & Bobby baby celebrated his birthday this week .. so there’ve been constant reminders, but sadly I haven’t listened to any of the tributes .. should have – wonderful poetry, let alone music ..

Drinking in the day is a no no .. unless I zonk out in a haze for the rest of the day .. hopeless case – but good in some ways .. used to slip in SA and that was it boozy weekend with friends .. good food and rather too much fizz, or vino .. especially with the sun.

Wonderful listening to your songs .. actually your CD sat playing away regularly last year after I got it .. it’s around somewhere .. recently I’ve been working in silence, occasionally I’ll put the ipod system on ..

Cheers enjoy your narcissistic self singing happily away .. have a wonderful weekend .. Hilary

Dearest Hilary of the Happy Hill, I never had any Freddy Mercury, as in cassette tapes, but he had a great voice and melodies. Kelly’s knows “We Will Rock You” of course. All the kids know the foot-stomping to that one. I listened to a lot of Super Tramp, Chicago, Boston & Zeppelin. Zepelin? Geez, I’ll be in my 50 soon enough. :) Oh well, what is a tribute to listen to. The real tribute is in our heart and veins. Been thinking about that that I Need A Man CD, and how it will be fun to do my own artwork
