I’m now thinking of my childhood…and that orange banana seat bike I had (good fun, it was!).

    Keep filming, Kelly!!

    Keep singing, Jannie!!

Lancie! Did you really have an orange seat one? Any photos of you on it? Somehow I picture you as a mini Jakob looking cute type! Thanks, Lance, always a spark in my day to have you pop in.

G! She cracks me up. Nice job on the olde iPhone cam, I thought. And cute as all get out.

Lynn! She’s a hoot, as you can tell. This O.M. was an early one, from 5:00 to 7:00 so I made her tag along. :)

Hilree!!!! I just now made a list of song for my performance list — 16 in all, and a few not quite finished writing. Oy. Seems a bit daunting to think of the work still ahead to perfect them. But….. one step at a time. And going to pick up a pack of highlighting pens, maybe 10 different colors to help me with my chord charts, a different color for each chord. Since I’m such a “visual learner” and I find remembering the chord sequences a real challange, I am thinking the visual aide will be good for me. I’m gonna get those today! The pool is closed Mondays for chemicals and cleaning, so Kelly and I will jaunt to shopping areas today, whooohoo. She who at 9:51 a.m. is Still Asleep!! Oh well, it’s summer. Summer hours. Tho next week with her in gymnastics camp from 8:00 to 6:00 she’ll have a bit of a jolt to her system to get up early. :) enjoy your sun!! We have lots of that too. Actually, wishing it were November already. :)

SuZen! I know what you mean, makes me dizzy too. And doesn’t she flit nimbly through the crowd!! :)

“Blue Guitar” sounds like it should
be a novella or poem by someone
very hip, very focused. The video
    clip was scrumptious and seemed
very cineam verite, like the shooter
was on the way to rest room, or
had ants in their pants. Kelly is
nearly ready to get up there on her
own steam; what a precious little ham
you are raising there. Was that Big Jim
on the wall table on our left?

That would be “cinema verite” there,
slick; these old fingers are not what
they used to be, and thank the gods
not where they used to be harnessed

I love her roving hand-cam n a ham too filming style! The folks were paying attention too- that’s good. Looks like fun experience. When I did it, I got addicted to the rush of performing n never wanted to stop. (Until I goofed up missing chords!) You could always go to Staples n get colored dot stickers used on files really cheap! Then you have to remember the color key tho!

I never use paper when I play, except for the play list I usually tape to the guitar. It’s all memorized. I always had a party list n a wedding list, due to avoiding depressing tunes for that. I do like minor keys!

This song always reminds me of John Denver music for some reason-

Not having alot of fun unless you include an hour at the beach yesterday. Maybe I can play guitar when I get home from bbsitting tonight.

Marvelous as always, dear Jannie. Summer’s going well for me — the best garden harvest ever, and I’m trying to keep regular appointments with the magic mountain, even though it is SO HOT here.

Writing is going well, too. My freelance activities have led me to some excellent opportunities, so I’ve been superduper busy in that regard, but I’m not leaving my fiction behind — in fact, I have plans for it, and I’m working along on, shall I say, plotting (pun most certainly intended! ;) ).

I’ve missed you! I hope you’re having a lovely summer, as lovely as you are. Sending xoxoxoxoxoxoxo.

Well, good to be back here!

Enjoying my vantage point here by the pool, even tho this day has partially sucked because I learned one of my best Canada friends died last night. Her name was Maryellen. She was a lovely lovely person to me. She died of liver cirrosis. She was only 43.

But here I am in the gold and green fountain late afternoon, and calm in my heart at the moment.

And I shall now reply to your kind thoughts and words.

Linda, I was quite pleased and surprised with her lovely impromptu filming and sweet antics. Kelly will join me on Sugar Lady at her first O.M. She’s getting a gret little part worked out for it. So now I have to gets my chops back up on that tune. But I will. Now that I am practicing standing at the mike and holding my guitar a bit differently I should have those chord positions figured out in just a few practices. I do have Kelly and her cousin on video at church when she was 6 and Alyssa 8. I played guitar and we sang a few hymns. And at 7 she joined me at the mike for a tune at a lakeside July 4th party with a whole band. I have that on video too. Plus many many other school and home performances from her. Renovations — may they be swifter and cost less than you planned for!!! :) Where’d you go on vacation??

Aimee, and I heard her singing some of the lyric again just today. Poor kid, subjected to my tunes all the time. :) She is a big fan, and I’m so flattered. I’ve got this new tune “Married Lady” I’m working on and she sings that sometimes too. :) Yes, i can say summer is treating me well. And I aim to start treating it better too. Hearing one of my best friends just died I am jumpstarted into gettin goff my ass on some relationships. Just wrote my aunt Sue who lives in Mississsauga a nice letter.

Dearest Glenn, speaking of someone hip and focused, have you ever seen this….. “Boring Jannie” these days. http://www.austinkleon.com/2011/03/30/how-to-steal-like-an-artist-and-9-other-things-nobody-told-me/ Thus, super-super borning this coming week, but hopefully to put up a nice post before I go to my artist’s garrett. :) Nope, Big Jim was not out at this performance. But I’ll make sure Kelly films him too whenset next he joins us! Ants in pants Kelly — I love her cinematographer eye and hunger for a great vantage point!! :) Oh, and would not even have noticed the typo. Fun to get an extra comment added to my “larder” for it tho. :) :)

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, Heather, speaking of awesomeness, there you are! Did you see YOUU on this video!??!?! I sure did, and youi look extrasuper cute. And I just replied to your e-mail about you takinbg you-know-who to Kerby Lane and about your 15 minute excursion into Flipnotics. I hipe you and G are having a super blast, and that I’ll see you this Tuesday night at the rockin’ rollin FUN Opa’s. Ahhhhhhhh, you so sweet, thanks. I am so lucky to have Kelly — still can’t believe it some days.

Hey Robin, when I am next and FIRST in Melbourne, I shall go straight from seeing the wrasse to your O.M. !!!!!!!!!! :) :) But seriously, it will be a wonderful exciting charming honor and verklempt moment to play your open mike. And to meet you. When IS your O.M.? if it’s this coming Friday night and I win the lottery before I can make it!! :)

Well, Jim’s here now, so I will post this, and come back to answer the rest of you later!!! And maybe even in the a. of m. with coffee.

    Hot date tonight?

Snaggle, my Snaggly Snaggle who’s 2 reacent posts I HAVE read, but not yet commented on. Geez, it must suck to have to be so careful about dust and allergens. But the consequences of not being so careful would obviously not make you feel good. Anyway, back to this post. Yes, folks paying attention. Mostly everybody there also performed, so a real nice supportive crowd. I was SO HAPPY — 3 people made a point of coming up to me later and saying how much they liked my songs / performance. yay!!!! I’m totally getting better!!!!!!! I goof up chords too! But I’m putting a color-coded highlighting system in my charts now, to hopefully help me. I got a set of 6 colors for only $4.99 plus tax!!! whooohoooo. Did so well. I’ll blog on my color system soon! So far… I have the i chord in blue, the iv in purple, the v is yellow, the iii green, and the vi orange. I don’t (so far) play any dminished. My one music thing to print today will be a new chart for “Do You Dream,” as I got it mixed up. It’s really in E, not A. I LOVE the idea of not using a sheet!! I did a few weeks ago once, but not since. You learn faster that way — head in the mouth of the lion. :) I LOVE minors too, but one has to be responsible with them, and as you say — keep people’s spirits bright. :) Speaking of which —- I’M SO HAPPY!!!!! I figured out to put the chorus for “Love Will Be The Answer” in FM7, not the Am, yay!!! whoooohoooooohoooooooo. John Denver. Cool. I find “Married Lady” reminds me of him! How lovely you got out the the ocean. I loved hearing about the special place you and that elderly man both discovered at 15!! AWESOMENESS. P.S. Bring food there for him next time. :) :)

Gotta fly for now, sorry! But I will be back when I need a buddy break.

Cup of tea now be nice, the Kava Root, I think. At least I think it’s a root??

oh, darn-shoot-darn, my brilliant comment evaporated. And I had such a lovely thing in it about Patricia standing by a gumball machine in a yellow floor-length shift. I saw her in the audience that evening!!! :)

Well, buddies and Sister, I will let this be my answer to all, in one mail.

And onwards to that new “Do You Dream” color-coded chart, Jo’s letter and talking to some stranger on the phone to get Jim’s e-mails flowing back in and out. We think his desktop has a bit of the flu, virally caused for sure. I really oughta do the third one first, but I’m gonna stick to the order I just now quoted you all. :) :) :)
