My Humble Hotel

Welcome, dear blog traveler!

Come in from the blizzard of potholes
that have probably been spanking your eyes
and your mis-matched luggage for years.

Here, let me shake the time zones and the
tangle of dishwasher salesmen out of your hat.
Fling your shoes and worries wherever you wish.

You look thirsty. How ’bout a nice tall glass of
waterfall I’ve been stirring meadows of lemon into
since the evening you published your first post?

You look hungry. Here, help yourself to my famous
sand castle soup, followed by motherboard a la mode.
(All seasoned with hints of violin string, of course.)

Are you tired? There’s a beach on the sofa.
Are you cold? There’s a fireside chat in my heart.
Are you lonely? There are friends waiting

always

for YOU

in my lobby

and over at dVerse Poetry.

You need only knock on their door.

Talkin’ about dVerse’s Tuesday Open Link night. LOVE it! Week 7 already.

Janine, your poetry is so fresh, trascendent in a way that I can’t put my finger on, but I love it!

Your scrambled imagery (LOL~) is like a drink of gooooood lemonade on a too hot day. And that about describes this damn summer.

“blizzard of potholes…spanking your eyes” — I love it, especially fitting since I had to drive down 4th street (more holes than road if you ask me) on my way home for lunch. Mind if I use that line in my letter to City Council? ;)

Sand castle soup — I’ve heard it’s high in iron and niacin. Also, when you eat it, you can feel like you’re one of those cool alien creatures that show up in various sci-fi TV shows and movies who live on silicon-based as opposed to carbon-based food. And you don’t even have to be in a dormant, rock-like state when the carbon-based lifeforms arrive to explore your planet, because your carbon-based nature will remain intact. If you eat it in moderation, that is. Enjoy responsibly.

Jannie pics are great as is the write, but what I like the most is the tone you took. I get this great sales pitch here, which for me anyhow, usually leads to disappointment or suspicion, unfortunate but how I see it. But here, there’s nothing to be disappointed with. Some lovely imagery/sentiments to wrap the piece up, I’m sold:)
