Baby, you’ve hardly changed a bit in 10 years!

Even the hat still fits. Kind of.
Seems like 10 minutes ago I was doing up your birth announcement, not 10 years.
TEN YEARS!!!

Happy Birthday, Baby!!
Love Mom & Dad.

It always seems to be such a shock each
year when we discover that Miss Kelly was
able to make her entrance on September 11,
2001; what a drama queen. At least she will
never forget the significance of that day
in myriads of ways; kind of like being born
on December 7th. But all that aside, when
the Pea turns Ten, this turns the bathos
of this day into a festival of light.
Have a wonderful Birthday young lady!!!!

And you know what!? Kelly ate all those pancakes this morning. In fact, she ate 11, because she munched one before I told her I wanted to take a photo of her with them.
TEN YEARS. O.M.G. In 7 she might be already on her own.
7 is good tho. And lucky.

Happy Birthday Kelly – thought of you yesterday having lots of fun .. when’s your party? Hope you all had such a wonderful day together .. eating pancakes for breakfast seems like a very good idea .. we called those scotch pancakes and had them for tea .. usually with lots of butter and golden syrup!! Very gungy .. but very childlike delicious.
Kelly – 10 is some age .. way to go .. and you live life to enjoy it and that’s the main thing – glad BB is taking care of you .. and I expect Mum has sung a song? and Dad perhaps made something extra for the tree house?
Enjoy your week and here’s to lots lots more birthdays ahead .. cheers for now – Hilary xoxox

Dearest Hilary.
But firstly, Daisy and EVERYONE else who did comment — thank you sooooo much!! I do read, I mean devour every word of your wonderful comment gifts. maybe next post I will be a “good girl” and answer each and every comment individually. You are all awesome. And special.
Now, back to the Tube Travelin’ Hilary…
Poor Jim may have to head to his Radio Station Land by headphones on his computer, with all us gals around.
Or regale us with his entertaining stories, and probably ones even I’ve never heard.
Trancendental Tube Travel may have to be it.
And Internet, as BB says “internets is good, my jannie.”
Had some creative ideas hit me for what is looking like it’ll be this coming Saturday indeed for the party. Of 3 gals thus polled, the 17th is a good date.
Pulled out a lot of the Halloween stuff today, so the girls can decorate! If pansies are out yet at the DYIs, the girls might enjoy planting those. Lovely potential photo ops, I think!?) Pix to post on Kelly’s 20th birthday. Notice this year she 1 day old pix, plus now –10. Her 11th birthday will feature her on hir first b-day, her 12th showing her 2nd party, 13 her at 3, and so on and so on. WAIT until you see her 16th!!!!!! I had her 6th party here at home, and what a Do it was. I think I actually once sent you a photo of how I had the house all decorated up!? So sweet, 20 or so little girls all seated at one huge square low table with kid size white chairs all ’round. Cute!! “My Little Pony,” decorations.
But I birthday digress.
having a great day here so far Hilary.
Got Kelly’s whole portfolio of art and creative writing samples, to submit as corroborating evidence to see if she might benefit from a special and fun class at school for creative stuff. I’ll drop that off today before I pick her up from choir, where starting today she’ll stay at school for on Mondays. We even got a scholarship for the tuition! The advert said “some scholarships available.” I emailed, and lo — I sought and I did find!! whooohooo. Later in the semester the choir will give little performances at school and in the community. So that’l be fun — and video-tape moments for sure!!
Also today, I think I got the bulk of the “Sneakers” song form done, yay!! It came to me in about a matter of minutes!
As well, I set up a time at Kelly’s gymnastics place for me to be able to video tape her doing some of her moves. This is for a project for that creative program we hope she can get into. The kids submit something creative about their passion. It’ll be fun I’m sure to hear her commentary along with what she will direct me to tape. Then, on a FREE video editing program on my laptop she will edit the clips together. I’m not sure if I still have the program on this laptop or not. So….. I’ve got a little technical stuff to get sorted. Her project is due on the 15th. I think what’s great is she gets interviewed about her production experience, to see how she handled challenges in it and such. Fun stuff!!
What else have I accomplished today? Um… Got Kelly to the bus stop 1 minute before the bus came, whew!!
Time can fly in the morninig when you’re having fun.
Anyhoo, yes a party here this coming Saturday afternoon to about noon the next day. Maybe enjoy the lake for a while until sunset. Order pizza. Rent a new movie. Try to get them asleep by 12:30 a.m. Have them clean my house.
And off I go to write down a little list that says… get _____’s phone number from Kelly’s homework assignment book… get camera memory card for Kelly’s video project… wash her leotard… do a bit of yoga… wear something cute today!!!
Oh, get those cute little kitten invites Kelly wants, and some kitten decs too for Saturday. Order cupcake cake! Drink some wine!
I did last night. Kelly’s dad made most of the lovely dinner.
Jo, you and Hilary should travel great together — you’re two fun sweet birds of a feather.

Hi Jannie .. that sounds like a mammoth week ahead .. and so much fun – Kelly has definitely inherited her buzz of life from you .. I could really do with a week of helping out at the party, some downtime – doesn’t sound like that happens in Funsterland – some cake .. oh yes a glass of vino to unwind sometime .. possibly breakfast time .. NO – I really won’t ..
Just enjoy – excellent the sneaker song’s come together .. and the scholarship – that was a piece of luck .. good for you both.
Photos – I expect you did email me one of Kelly on her 6th with the house all decorated up .. it wasn’t Penguin days was it? Anyway .. so many pics of your house evolving over time!
I shall enjoy Saturday and be thinking of you .. round about the same time .. enjoy yourselves and have lots of fun .. you will .. big hugs – Hilree xoxoxxo PS I know BB will be manigings in the background .. pulling the spotlights arounds and abouts ..

Snaggle — I know. a tweenybopper. Tho here in Texas it’s officially at 9 — well, according to the after-school time here at this library. Years fly faster, but moments slower as we age, I’ve heard. How depressing if you go that way.
I know, I know, and now she’s taking the bus to and fro public school, her first time at public, and she loves all about it. How can this be she is growing so independant????? Dang.
Sheila. Okay, which part is beautiful on this?? I forget what I posted!! Let me zip back up and see how I was so freaking awesome!!
Here I go — hang on! Oh yeah, you like the font on the announcement I chose, eh? So cute, yes. I actually thought the hat might fit her!!! She is GROWing, Sheila. How does that happen?????
Hi Dearest Heather, I almost emailed you earlier. Another thing for my list. Thanks for popping in. Hope you are well. My songs are still progressing. How’s your music? Want to have a Family Meeting with Jim and Kelly to see what night a week I can go out to an Open Mike. We are right back into the homework / school bedtime bliss, and I like to be with her each night to help keep her on track. Thinking maybe that Sunday at Hot Mama’s if it’s still on. Anyway, I’ll let ya know!!

Sept 11 was also my grandfather’s birthday. Lots of Virgos in my family, including me. Also, my daughter, Riley, was born on Labor Day proper!
It must have been surreal giving birth on that day; and yet, there’s something about celebrating life, especially the life of this little cutie with her 10 pancakes, that affirms the idea of life continuing! Thanks for this, Jannie, and Happy Birthday, Kelly! With a last name like Funster, she will never be a bore!

Alice Audrey, ain’t it the truth. Time marches on. So let’s dance our way through it!!
Sharp Pencilled Amy — yo! Kelly has a good friend in her class named Riley. Kelly was due on Labor Day, but came along 6 days later. I was actually scheduled for induction at 8:00 on the 11th, but went into labor on my own around 2:00 a.m. Yes, it was a surreal time. I had just gotten my epidural when Jim came back into the room and said we had to turn onthe tv. That was about 12:00 NY time. SO great to be getting to know you better. Does blogging ROCK, or what!?!??!?!
