The girl who dreams of Paris,

she with poems and the Eiffel Tower

shooting out the top of her head,

needs only bread, cheese

oranges, pencil and paper

to survivingly thrive.

Green trees and

cafe afternoons

feed her too.

But really, just a

white room with

words to lay her

heart on will do.

My European Tour 1999 – 11 penpals in 7 countries in 30 days. Me with Christine in Paris.

Remember my blonde “panpal” Jo in England? The one I love to BITS!!??

There she is with Andy in London during that same trip.

    Ah, Paris!
Il n’y a pas des mots assez a decrire la plus belle ville du monde! Mais, tu as oubliee le vin: pain, fromage, oranges, crayons … et vin, beaucoup, beaucoup du vin :)
    Salut!

(Although, I do have to say I prefer the eastern and southern regions of the country: Grenoble, les Alpes, Juan les Pins, Nice and such; yet, who can deny themselves holidays dans la cite?)

Makes one see films like MIDNIGHT
    IN PARIS, or AROUND MIDNIGHT,
or AN AMERICAN IN PARIS, in a different
light. How wonderful you did a whirlwind
Funster tour of France and England
in 1999. Some of us know we will
never make it there now, so we must
get our French kicks and rolls through
    your images and experiences.

Wow, a whirlwind tour of Paris! Been there years ago. I don’t think it changed much since then. What still lingers, Mona Lisa at the Louvre and of course the Eiffel. Nice verse and nice pics.

That’s lovely, Jannie! I lived in France for a while studying Cranio-facial surgery in Nancy. Before I went I had this vision of lace curtains blowing in the wind with a view of the Seine! LOL! I had a dismal room in a hotel with a view of a brick wall! The memories of the experience and the people I met were, however, irreplaceable!

Malheureusement, je ne parle pas bien le français.

What a beautiful trip that must have been! I love that you were happy with just cheese, bread and paper… Spent a very similar day once exploring Munich with three very close friends, ended our day in the twilight of dusk sharing Lambrusco, bread aqnd cheese on the steps of a beautiful, centuries old building…. Your wonderful memories just took me there… really quaint and darling Jannie….
