You Will Have Friends

You will have friends who carry you.

And times when you will carry them.

You will have friends who drift away,

allowing new friends to draw closer.

You will have friends long after

I am but wildflowers in the woods.

olivia_Kelly_1

Cherish them. But most of all,

cherish you. And the love ever

reigning over and under and

in and on everything, like the

oceans of your father’s eyes and

the music in my heart for him.

And thinking I’ll add a 4th photo to this post, sometime in the next coupla days!

A picture you’ve never seen before of Kelly’s ocean-eyed dad.

So, come back, if you wish!

I read recently that the average person has two real friends, down from three several years ago. I suppose one can be enough, yet those numbers seem sad to me. So many people, so few real friends.

I do clearly remember all the real ones who have been in my life, as I know they remember me :-)

Like most good times, I imagine we take them for granted at those moments. Perhaps that’s a good way to do it.

This is the most beautiful set of thoughts into words I have read for many days, Jannie. You seem to bring dverse Poets Pub to a new ‘high’ in what I believe is the ultimate mission of poetry–all the arts. Which is to help us to raise our thoughts–level-of-life above, WAY ABOVE the mundane.

You bring me a step closer to the final goal, just by relieving me, even if only temporarily, of the humdrum of daily existence.

    THANK YOU!
    PEACE!

Dearest Ayala, well thanks, so much. And HOW DID YOU KNOW your sweetness was on my mind earlier today??!!! Yes, you sure were! Just thinking about what a really special person and poet you are. Still think you’re an angel spying on earth, and reporting to God!!

Dearest Dr. J. well, the cosmic synergy is afoot again between you and me. I was thinking just TWO DAYS ago (and now and then) how I am lucky to have TWO best friends. One has been for almost 9 years, the other for 4. Both here in Austin. I think it’s a good idea to keep being nice to the ones nice to us! Stay away from “weedy” friends that drift through the garden. Also, I think the happier we are, the better friends we draw to us. But yes, TWO is amazing!! One is a real blessing, of course. [Edit To Dr. J...] And I’m wondering where the 1 of 3 friends went to, between surveys? Maybe out looking for a job? Or “finding themselves” in the Alps or on the beaches of Costa Rica. :) I dunno! :)

Dearest Patt, to that… I say. It’s true, from you. Molecules linger in hearts and in fingers, from the ghosts we knew mosts. :)

Dearest My Steve E. oh my goodness, I’m blushing. Well, I took 2 girls to a park 2 weeks ago. Had my Good Camera with me, and lo! Looked at those pix for the first time earlier today. Liked them and wrote a few lines for what they made my heart think of!! (Hey, even Jannie gets the olde humdrum. But taking pix of nice scnes makes me happy.) As does Minute Maid “Kids” orange juice, coffee mornings and muesli afternoons!!!! Love those little muesilis from the Whole Foods bakery. Tho I’ve only had maybe 2 in the past year. :) A new WF is apparently coming TEN MINUTES from our house!! The other 2 I know of are about 25 mins away each. Anyway…. thanks for YOUR lovely high energy art-and-beauty words!!!

Dearest DayDreamer Too!! I know — the girls are both just so sweetly photogenic — and obviously no strangers to the camera when a lovely setting presents itself. :) The raven-haired beauty is a relatively new friend of Kelly’s. NICE people!!! I hope we get to stay in Texas and they can spend the next 7 years (and beyond) 12th greade as buddies!! Yes, I am so grateful to be able to take pix and share them with the world.

Ahhhh, thank you dear lovely, Kellie. And thanks for letting me know about your poem. Not sure when I’ll be getting to your gorgeous blog, but I’ll be smiling in my heart to you until then!! :) Oh, and i love how you use the little i when you refer to yourself, as i. :) :)

Ahhh, thank you dear Claudia, as to the carry and be carried, it can take a long while for either party to get to that stage, depending on the relationship. But… sometimes even sharing our concerns or worries can be a friend carrying us. Just an ear can be enough. And trusting that love is in us and available at all times.

Hi Dearest Hedgewitch. Always lovely to see you! And long, convoluted, and interestingly rife with images of goats, tree, chickens, oceans and tulips — like your poetry can be just fine too!!

Dearest Brian Miller — it does seem I keep coming back to me, in some way or another. :) And adding her dad to the mix is always a sweet reminder of the good man he is.

Ahhhh, Dearest Natasha who are in the land I do miss… when we dip a little low into the wishing well, we’ll find a friend comes up in the bucket!! hey, I kinda like that. :) I like to be nice to myself too — I’m with me almost all the time. :)

Dearest Heaven, well YOU should know about precious and cherished words!! And you do. And you share.

Dearest Rosemary Nissen-Wade — I bet you ARE those flowers, and more for many souls.

Dearest WolfsRosebud. I saw “Dr. Hook & The Medicine Show” when I was about 25. Had been a fan for many years. “Come on Carrie, carry me a little further…” rings ever in my heart. And that was the spelling of my maternal grandmother’s name!!!

Dearest Daisy — me either. And I’m not sure where I’d be without YOU. Still can’t believe we tip-toe through the blogging meadows together!! And I’m sure glad we do!!!!!!

Dearest Fred, I can’t seem to help putting “it all out there.” :) it touches my soul you are enjoying the ride in Funsterland. ;) Blushes, and goes on to next comment….

Ayala — and so are YOU. And I totally meant what I said yesterday about thinking specifically about YOU. It was before my bath. And here you are FIRST commenter on this post. I think we really do draw our friends’ good energies to us!!

Dearest Chris G. And those two are just rife with sweetness!! The wise ones say we ALL are. :) I’m sure you would look just as sweet photographed beside the wild asters!!!! I do like how the pix turned out so sweetly. Take camera!

That is so true Dearest RavenBlack, there are always so many good and nice peeps out there to get closer to. And laugh more with, through all our ups and downs.

Ahhhhhh, Dearest Lancie, thank you for an exquite uplifter of a mini-poem comment. And thank YOU for being your own brand of love, light, laughter and beauty.

    JANNIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh boy, Mrs. Lovely Much HIGHER than Mediocrity… oh boy, those ocean eyes, indeed!! And winning grins. And hair touseled by sunsets by the sea through a frame of maple leaves.

Dearest Shashi — because I am writing this comment to you, My Friend, I am happy in The Now of the magical interchange of ones and zeroes, butterfly heroes allowing our hearts to dance. :) I’m not exactly sure when I’ll be out blog-hopping. I have a couple song I’m tinkering on for my recording studio session next week. But when I DO visit your blog, all the horns of heaven will blare my happy arrival. Think Handel’s “Water Music!!”

Ahhhh, Sheila and YOU, my friends ARE simply beautiful from your vegetable garden, to your deals on snack foods, to your photos, to your heart’s song, to your smile to your beauty as a mom and friend!!

Dearest Lynn — that is so funny. You and I were on the same wavelength with each others’ most recent posts. I think it took me 24 hours to get back to your post too. :) But we did!! And are ever in each others’ hearts, of course!! I AM having a beautifu morning. Just emailed 12 pix each to the 3 gals I had dressed up and gone out with for Halloween. Yes, Halloween 2011, that is! And about to e-mail the current mp3 of “You Could Love Me Good” to 3 blogging friends, after I post this. And then…. to teh bath and to pick up Kelly who will be back at noon from her 3-day 5th grade camping adventure trip! Hang out wit hher a while, then hang out with Kalyani and Shana. Life is not too bad at all!!

I think room in your life for one good new one is a blessing!! Maybe you’ll get a whole slew!! They are out there if we look hard enough, eh?

Dearest Yousei Hime of the cute bunnies and beautiful bluebonnets… We had so few bluebonnets this past spring. I wonder if they will be reseeding the highways. Hmmmn. Where in Texas do you visit? Yes, Blue Bunny — my blogging mascot, actually he likes to be called “Bloging Manigir.” :)

Thank you dearest SWEET Dulce!! Yes, I have to shout out my two nearest and dearsest from time to time, epecially my other half, my behind-the-scenes constant supporter!!

Ahhhh, Dearest Glenn — maybe I’ll get an honorary poetry degree from UT or something such?? :) Actually, when my songs get BIG and even more folks come here, I will be so glad to share my archives with them. Speaking of which, I forgot to include this post in my Poetry & Photography categories. Will have to amend my ways on that. :) Ahhhh, such sweet words from you. THANKS!!

Dearest Snaggle — knowing this touched YOU makes blogging worth my while. It sure does!! Yes, I should’ve mentioned the sparkles and ripples in the water were caused by Kelly’s friend splashing with her hands. Caught it just at the right moment I think. And Kelly was just playing with the stick. Nothing like a good found stick to make a heart sing. Yes, I do think friends bring the greatest joy. And relatives the most pain. :) :) :) YOU bring me much joy. You guys are a friendship lifeline for ME too. Thank YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dearest Pergavus with the ultra-cute cardboard dude gravatar….. Well, I’ve come to know that material things will fade away but the love we gave and received will not only linger on, but reverberate out to the Universe in all perpetuity. Wow, when did I get so enlightened?? :)

SO FUNNY! And funny, speaking of a marriage and Monty Python connection…. Cleese and Booth’s marriage broke up, they said, over stress of Fawlty Towers.

Banana Seat Bicycle is an awesome (!) song… destined to become a classic – for both those who remember the banana seat bicycle age we grew up in and for those who are discovering “retro” banana seat bicycles these days… when “everything old is new again”.

Funny how things cycle around, isn’t it? When we bought my recumbent trike last spring, I chuckled at the banana seat bicycles they had on display. ;)

Seriously, though, I an totally unsurprised that song went over well! I love it… and not just for my personal reasons for loving it. ;)

And guess what??? Last night in studio I got “my guy” to put MP3s on my flashdrive, of the rhythm guitar tracks for 3 of the new songs…

    “Mary, Do You Hear Me?
“Hope You Found A Better Way” and…
    “Love Will Be The Answer”

yay! Now I shall play along with the tracks one-by-one, as I do when I’m learning to play and sing the tunes myself.

I did SO MUCH of that learning this past summer on

    “You Could Love Me Good”

    Coming right along, musicall.

Bass and drums on half the tunes in late December, as I can afford it. The rest probably in early Feb.
