shooting hoops, ringing their little bells,

watching Little House On The Prairie and

dancing to 70s Southern Rock anthems.

And here’s a new Jannie song mp3 for you… DO YOU DREAM  It’s 2:40 long.

Still in rough-mix stage.  Piano and harmony vocals yet to be added.

If you can’t save it to your computer and want to, let me know and I’ll e-mail you the clip.

Sure hope you are well and will have a great weekend!!

Thanks for the song! And sadly my bro’s family moved from Austin up to Colleyville (it’s near DFW Airport). So this Christmas I drove Miss Daisy (aka my mom) from Kerrville (after I flew into San Antonio from Denver) to Colleyville… But at least we got to stop in Lamp Ass Ass to visit a couple of my friends (I do not know why they persist in living in the boonies between two ‘villes). Unfortunately, I did not detour through Austin for this road trip. Maybe someday I’ll be back in Austin for a visit, but not sure when that might be…

Those photos are great. Nice to know I’m not the only person who’s written something inspired by parakeets. :)

Hi Jannie .. just listened to the song – I think it’s great … and the sound that emanates out of my little computer over the pond is just wonderful!! Love it – good luck at Kerville …. seems a very good entry.

The first photo of the birds just has je ne nais quoi about it .. it is just beautiful and as your song was playing my mind went back to the photo .. to me there’s something equally artistic about it .. the colours, the lines, the melding of the background ..

But brilliant .. love both of them .. and how I dream of eating a birdie cat!!

I shall look at broccoli in a new light! Cherry-bye for now .. Hilreee xoxoxox

Jannie…when and what is the Kerrville NewFolk thing? I’m thinking that it’s different from the bluegrass festival…but not sure. I may be in Kerrville for a visit in mid-July. I have a conference in Dallas around then, so otherwise I probably stay in Colorado in JULY when it’s hot but not TEXAS hot…lol

Dearest Friends of the Blossoming Hills,

CAITY! Wish I had YOUR amazing camera to capture them with. Hoping To get clearer shots of them from the open front door of their cage.

HILARY! I LOVE this technology that lets us share immeditately from anywhere in the world with Internet connection. Yep, and the other is “Banana Seat Bicycle.” So glad you like the photo. I have the birds down sitting with me at the moment and I see where I’ll put in 2 more ladders and a few more toys. They ate a little apple yesterday! Cheery pie!!

AYALA — thank you so much dear. I had a good singing lesson on that the other day, and that seemed to smooth out my delivery.

WEYRDIE — it’s in June. Here’s the link….. Can’t blame you one iota for picking CO over TX in summer!

SHEILA — I love you!! And thanks for your wonderful words on the song. I worked on those lyrics a lot. Think I got them pretty well, finally!

    Dearest Friends of Blogging Wonderment,

AIMEE — today Mieshka did not pay the birds much mind for the morning cage cleaning and feeding ritual. And you know me — when a good photo presents itself… :)

Ahhhhhhhhhhhh, ALICE AUDREY, how sweet of you to call me sweet. Are you sweet too? I think so. The birdies are currently doing to cocobop on their perch and yakking about fashion.

TALON! I do have to protect them at all times from the Mieshka, but methinks the feline is getting used to the No Touch ouse policy.

LINDA!! Happy happy songs and birdies. And cat — but she’d be much happier, as you know with her claws into those little tweeters.

    later, gators.

Mieshka likes Budgie watching netter than Little House. I like Little House too, but don’t get that on these basic channels… (Darn).

Parts of that altered Andy Warhol Blue Bunny look familiar… But I remember a red tongue not a red nose…

LIARA. Having never had birds before I have sure been missing out on these little blessings. And I’m reminded they hail from the country where you make your home.

COLLEEN, as I mentioned I enjoyed browsing your site for the button graphic. I almost went with the white and red wines in glasses beside the open window with the red geraniums in the terracotta pot. But when I saw the cow on the hill, that was it! So glad you like it.

Thank you so much DEAR LOVELY SHASHI!

SNAGGLE! Mischief sounds like a really special cat!

I LOVED that song:~) You know we need music like this song. It’s happy! I’m tired of all this depressing music. This song helped do my exercise today. It made me tap my feet as I listened to it. Does this one go on the album. I vote YES!

Loved the picture of your kitty staring with bated breath at the little birdies. She looks like she’s waiting for the bird door to accidentally swing open. I think Mieshka knows there are better things to eat than broccoli! Be careful for those little birdies:~)

Dearest Davina — you bet on the e-mailin’ of tuneage to you. So glad I popped back in here to see if I’d read all the comments. They like asparagus too. B ut broccoli is more economicaly viable for me. And if Jim sells a car this weekend we’re gonna get them that new bigger cage, it’ll be just a plain finch habitat. But highly serviceable and you know I’ll get it all dooded up like a 60s groovie pad!!

Ahhhhh, Dearest Sara, thanks sooooooo much!!! Ahhhhhh, I just love hearing the wonderful words you’ve left here. Soooooo glad to hear you danced to it. I decided yesterday I can still sing this better, so expect the album version to be a bit different. Yep – on the album FOR SURE! Agreed on all the depressing tunes. Still, writing The Happy (for me anyway) takes a lot more thought. But… it’s built and written to last. :) Oh, yesteday when I played this for Kalyani she said “ukulele!” So I’m gonna ask my old band mate Mardi if she might like to try her hand at that. She plays a little uke. Well, all ukes are little, right? :) Yes, at present when I am not in the hosue I shuffle the birds to the top of Kelly’s dresser and shut the door. Mieshka usually hops up on the kitchen counter in the morning after I go get the budgies from Kelly’s room. The birds are not fearful of her with these supervised visits, but I know not to trust Mieshka. Jim and I are devising a kind of removeable plexi-glass cover to put up when I get the new cage, as I won’t be shuffling it back and forth between their high shelf above the tv, and Kelly’s room. They’ll have a permanent perch. And the plexiglass “sheild” will go up when I leave the house, and at night. Can’t WAIT — but I have to, for the new perches and toy for them arrive off eBay. A lady makes them herself!! Lovin’ my birdies!!
