Great News!! And 3-Part Harmony For You

The great news… my FF55 is ready to post next Thursday, 5:55 TEXAS Time!!
Which is the same as Tulsa time, I do believe? Which I’ve been living on.
Anyway..
I SO wanted to snag YAHTZEEEEEE at G-Man’s yesterday to win fame and glory, but…
that would’ve meant taking an Internet break in the recording studio.
Luckily, I came to my senses and said,
“Jannie, you’re here to sing. So sing!
The 55 will keep another 7 days.”
So I sang.
And the 55 is keeping just fine so far.
While Captain George was mixing, I did pop over to G-Man’s to comment from my iPhone, tho! Good Jannie!!
Sooooooo.
E-MAIL ME with the subject line “Jannie Loves Me” if you want the MP3 from last night’s session.
A WHOLE song! With George’s 3 guitar parts, Michael’s bass and…
Jannie singing to 150,000 peeps.
(That’s what I was picturing in my mind as I sang.)
I was opening for The Rolling Stones.
Wait, no! THEY were opening for ME. Yeah, that’s it!
And how cool – my photo of our girl-kitty Mieshka in the late afternoon sun inspired me to share my harmony evolution.
whoooohooooooooo
xoxooxoxoxoxooxoxoxoxooxoxoxoxooxoxoxoxoxoxxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxo
OUTRO…
I WILL be answering each and every comment this post, yay!!
And dancing with my parakeets all weekend.

Opening for The Stones! Wa-hoo! I bet they even asked you to get up and sing during their set. What song was it?
On 27 January 2012 at 12:32 pm Jannie said,
My Dearest Aimee who has commented FIRST!!! Yep, I KILLED the whole hillside mass of happy humanity with my bongo solo on “Sympathy For The Devil.” And made all the young girls cry with my “Angie” rendition.
The song is “Banana Seat Bicycle.” I think I got my Final Main Vocal on it last night!!!

Btw, I very much enjoy seeing your notes and the song writing process. My book journals go so similarly; they start out clean and lovely with a v clear outline and by the time my book is finished, it’s a clown rodeo of words, scribbles, ideas, sketches, time lines, matrixes and doodles. It’s like the inside of Steve Martin’s head … I assume.

I sent my email to you. I couldn’t miss the opportunity to hear you again. So, the Rolling Stones? I see you more with Carole King or Joni Mitchell, but if it’s to be the bad boys, then so be it. I have no doubt you hold your own with any of them:~)
Have a great weekend!

Whoooohooooo, drinking coffee!
And I DID IT!!!!!!! This morning I online-submitted the recording of this post’s subject along with “Do You Dream” to the Kerrville New Folk song contest.
Oh yeah, oh yeah — I did it, did it, did it!!
Anyway, dear ones…
LYNN!! Yep, I’m proud of me! Keeping my priorities straight in the recording studio. Imaging singing — not blogging during a studio session!! What a concept.
Dearest Jennifer Susannah… Yes, indeed those pages get doodled upon and added to sometimes until they are works of art rivalling Michelangelos. I like the clown rodeo image. Steve Martin’s head — reminds me of his “Grandmother’s Song.” Very unique indeed.
Thank you AYALA, thank you so much. And since I was born singing, with now signs of being able to stop, I guess I will just have to keep it up!
SARA!~ Your words about the Bad Boys made me smile. Growing up with older brothers and their rock and roll tastes, I do believe I COULD keep up with Mick and Keith just fine and dandy.
G-MAN!! Like the top-secret code idea. I do have a music notation program, but was more in a sit down with paper mode. Miss you too. And my 55 better be GOOD for Thursday MICHIGAN time this coming week, eh??
RAVENBLACK — thanks. And thanks for your email words — very touching to me!!And YOU are awesome, in case I’ve not told you in a while.
DAISY.
Isn’t my little Mieshka just a precious angel?
BRIAN! Hope the Mp3 arrivfed safe and soundly. Oh,l gotta go — Keith Richard’s RV just pulled up out front.

A 55? Isn’t that something gangster rappers drink? What a radical genre change for you, Jannie. But seriously, I appreciate the insights you give us here into your writing process. I imagine I’d better buy my Jannie & the Stones tickets way in advance, because Stones tickets are already like $400 a pop for the cheap seats and with Jannie on the card it’ll be, like, triple that.
On 28 January 2012 at 3:05 pm Alice Audrey said,
Yep, the 55 will keep. Studio must come first.
Your keyboard and the space around it looks so inviting.

Dear Wonderful Christopher Edgar whom I shall for the first time meet in the flesh on Broadway where our musicals will be playing in adjacent antique theaters… howdy.
You know — it’s interesting, I do not have any rap cds or mp3s but I like that rapper, Ice-T as a person. Came to know him from that reality show with his lovely wife, Coco. Amazing, how music touches us. Are you SERIOUS????? $400 a pop for a cheap Stones seat? Wow. With no money in our coats, and no lovin’ in our souls. But… methinks most of The Stones have a few pennies to jingle their pockets.
Stick with me, Babe! And we’ll have a ball at each others’ premiere after-shows. Oh yeah!!!
Dearest Alice Audrey — that’s it. Priority and Focus. But dang, the pull of the 55 is a strong one.
And the Lure of the Tuesday dVerse Open Link, of which I did not play this past week because….. I was mapping out those harmonies!! Actually, Kalyani gave me the high notes on the “Bridge Flys.” She is SO TALENTED at harmonies. But… I do toot my own horn now by telling you, I worked out the ending a.k.a Outro ones all by my little own self, whoooohoooo. We still may tweak them yet. Just experimenting, and learning! And it’s SO MUCH FUN. Oh yes, it’s funny because under that little table with the cloth on it are about 20 cords / cables from the Internet, phone and tv coming in. That spot does catch a lovely light this time of day. I love how light changes 365, then repeats. but always in slightly differing variations according to the weather. I’m sure you notice the same gorgeous spendor in your beautiful mountains?

Hi Jannie .. absolutely concentrate on your songs enjoying that process .. not sure if Miescke is keeping your seat warm for you, or you keep it warm for her? Enjoy dancing with the parakeets, singing with the family .. and generally having fun .. love the thought of those old geezers puffing and rocking their way around the stage before the svelte blondie raises the roof with her lilting lyrics and melodic musical tones … happy thoughts .. enjoy Sunday .. big hugs from us xoxoxoxo Hilree

Happy Sunday, Friends!!
Dearest Pat, my cute little cat was featured in light on a day golden bright. And my 55 is ready… songwriting steady. Thanks for your part, in this friendly blogging art.
DENISE!!!!!!! So long since I’ve seen you here. Hope you got the email with attachment? And hope you and yours are Super-Extra-Well!!
HILREE!!! Yes, and I’m thinking of actually taking a week blogging break to concentrate on the lyrics still on the tip of my heart for “Love Will Be The Answer.” I’ll see when I can book my next studio night. And take it from there! Just a few lines still to alight, but I KNOW I’ll get them. And maybe even super-soon!!! Well, Mieshka, that little interloper. Any seat I get up from is the one she takes over.
She’s soooooo sweet, tho.
Big hugs to YOU too!!!
Those Old Geezers.
CAITY!! I know — I’m so proud of me for achieving a goal I’ve been thinking of for well over a year now!! Whoooohoooooo.
G!! Happy writing today. Make it fun, and easy.
K & B!!! Missed you sooooo much!! Don’t worry ’bout catching up. We’re still here, and will be for a loooooong while. hope you’;re having lotsa fun today.
HANK!! Well, those “music files” of mine were pretty-much impromptu and certainly probably not the way anybody else would do it.
But it worked for me at the time. I do have a nice basic little notation program here on my laptop, but I can’t get it to print out. Thank you soooooooooooo much!!

I just listened to Banana Seat Bicycle and it’s great. I love the words to the song and the melody(?). It just flows and made me picture riding a bike, bare-footed with my hair blowing in the breeze. I loved it.
As a matter of fact, it’s still playing in my head as I write this:~)

So glad you like it. As I said in an email to a songwriting friend recently “if I waited until I thought I had the PERFECT studio vocal, I might never get out of bed.”
And I realize perfection is always in the joy of the moment.

You did a bang up job of hiding all those cords.
Frankly, I hardly ever notice the mountains. There are all these trees and houses in the way most of the time, and the ones around me right now don’t have that much appeal. They are just worn lumps. Not like Blodget Canyon with it’s deep crevices, or the cute little shapeliness of Little Lone Peak.

Worn lumps, so funny to me.
I think way way back in a post I actually showedthose ugly cords. In fact, I think I titled it, “Hiding Unsightly Cords”.

Life is a song. The harmony is composed by the heart and soul and interpreted by the mind that views everything as a work in progess. The whole essence of being is together in the here and now, never ceasing to sing and dance for joy.

Dearest Liara, indeed it is, life a song. Reminds me that “in the music of the leaves up laughing in the trees, I hear the angels sing. In the valleys and the hightest mountains I feel the joy in everything.”
