“Love Will Be The Answer” — Lyrics
Photography, Poetry, Songwriting | Posted by Jannie on 2 March 2012 @ 6:29 PM 48 Comments
1.
if you search the moon and stars for clues to who you are, if you search the wind,..
if you ask the morning why it skips across the sky, ask where you begin…
how can it be, you are here with me?
I can see these questions point in only one direction, I believe…
Love will be the answer
Love will be the dancer
so light on its feet, giving and sweet
Love will be the answer
Love will be the answer to everything
2.
in this miracle of light where we are shining bright, in the arms of spring
hear the music of the leaves up laughing in the trees, hear the angels sing
feel heaven’s power in the mountains, in the flowers
anything we wonder in the sunlight and the thunder we will see…
Love will be the answer
Love will be the dancer
so light on its feet, giving and sweet
Love will be the answer
Love will be the answer to everything
3.
speaking gently to yourself and everybody else go dancing through your day
take the children by the hand and you will understand everything’s okay
sailing by the chart in the ocean of your heart,
anything you’re searching all you need to know for certain is one thing…
Love will be the answer
Love will be the dancer
so light on its feet, giving and sweet
Love will be the answer
Love will be the answer to everything
All I know. All I know.
Love’s the way to go.
Do you see? Do you see?
Love will set us free.
Love will set us free.
Love. Love. Love. Love!
~~ end of newest lyrics.
Heading out to the studio Right Now to sing them, whooohoooo.
Snapped that photo down the street a couple hours ago. That biggest bloom is about 1.5″ across.
I think it’s jasmine? On a spray-type vine, and for sure loaded with heaven’s power — like you!
Happy Sweetness, y’all!!

I read this aloud and it’s beautiful. I can’t wait to hear it in your sweet voice. We need more songs like this one and people singing them. I get tired of the dark and depressing stuff that’s out there.
My favorite line, of the many I loved, was this one, “sailing by the chart in the ocean of your heart,” WOW, that line touches my heart:~)
BTW the flower is lovely. I no idea what it is, but I like the shade of yellow!

The vocal was good. I think I can still do better yet tho! And will after I sing it out at open mikes a bunch.
Back to “78704″ now.

Jannie, as in me, is back!
Did you notice?
Wow, it’s only 11:31, earlier than I thought.
Monday is my new open mike night.
That’s where I was earlier with Kalyani.
It was a hoot.
n
anny.
Dr. J. The work is all over now, and the fun began as of today!
I’m done recording for a while. For two reasons — fundage, and it’s time o get some more songs practiced in case I do get to be a finalist in the 2 folk fest contests I’ve entered — a total of 3 tunes for that. Plus, practice ones for our Fabulous Newly-Found Monday Open Mike! For next week I’m thinking “Mary,” “You Could Love Me Good,” and the above cited “Love Will Be The Answer” Just call me a Jan with a Plan.
And yes, I do tend to get chatty here after awesome singing parties — especially since it’s not really that late now, on a school nite.
Lovely Talon — thank you!! I’m actually thinking I might put that “music of the leaves” line at the first of that verse, as I’ve toyed with back and forth. And maybe work backwards from the word “spring.” I guess I can tweak my own lyric, and get away with it, eh?
Dittoes to lovely Miss Aimee on what I just wrote to Talon — and I DO mean lovely, inside and out Aimee with the singing voice and guitar picking of a musical angel.
Speaking of working backwards, and since I’m in such a chatty happy mood (finally,) after a week of financial hell, but no more of that talk here tonight…..
I’ll work backwards and be a Good Blog Comment Responder…
SuZen — how do I do it? Well, I read a lot of Dr. Seuss as a child, and it evolved from there, and took off when I finally picked up a guitar at age 30!
Thank you Patt Hat, shoot — I mean Pat Hatt — forgive me for I know not what I write.
Would you like the mp3? Well, guess what? EVERYbody who commented here will get it via e-mail whether they want it or not!!
Thank you RavenBlack — I DID have a great time at the studio. My favorite part was improving the new song I “presented” — that’s what I call it when I take a new song in. Fun to hear my studio guy’s input on the song form, and sometimes chord improvements. Just so much fun creating, anyway.
Sandy — wow, thanks!! And it’s awesome having you pop in here, as you’ve been doing of late, you roving poet you!!
Hey, Brian — yes, I think the message is very important. This song means a lot to me. And I really believe what I am singing about. And like to dance to it.
Is that Daisy my “Belle!!”
Yes, great color eh. And my $200.00 camera is still kicking butt. Tho I see there’s now a bit of dust INSIDE the lens housing, dang it. Oh well, it happens.
Hilary! Wow, did you guess close to the melody you heard on the mp3 I sent you? Would be fun to know if you indeed heard it the way I wrote it. Enjoyed your gloomy rainy Sunday cornish pastry post, had to cut my comment short because the library computer was about to shut down.
Lynn, oooo “A beautiful songstress” I like that — thanks!!
I’m shallow that way and like any reference to me as beautiful, cute, or even that my hair doesn’t look like crap today. Which is does NOT! Turned out good, actually, considering how thin it’s gotten in spots. But enough of that.
SNAGGLE!!!! Well, I think once I’ve sung it 50 to 100 times I’ll “own it” as they say. Or… maybe even as few as 25 times!!! So I better get cracking on my practicing. But no more sinning — or singing tonight.
After I post this I’m heading to bed. It’s now almost midnight!
SARA ! Yeah, every spring those sprays abound here. I think I actually even planted one once here in my “other life” when I gardened. Ahh, those were my green thumb days. And now it’s my Songwriting phase. I’m sure I’ll get back to gardening when my songs have bloomed enough!! I guess there can be places for all kinds of songs — sad ones can move us too. But agreed — too much depressive music is not good for the soul.
Patricia! I’ll check my e-mail and see if you listened to it yet!
Thanks Joey — I think I did get moire “into” the song by the 4th singing the other night. I will most likely lay down a better vocal eventually, before the disk is pressed.
JO, JO, JO, JO, Jo. I’ts like a breath of heaven you know — every time you comment. To think I actually have spent time with you THREE times IN REAL LIFE makes you sooooooooo special. And even if we’d never had those 2 times in Texas, and the days with you in the UK you would still be special in my heart. But meeting you was AWESOME — you are so much fun, and I like your smile and cute little ways I got to experience. And the singing — ahhhhh, all the singing fun together.

Those yellow flowers are lovely – as is your new song. Keep on singing, and have a wonderful week!
On 7 March 2012 at 9:47 am
Jannie said,
Hey, thanks Linda. I’ve been singing a lot this morning! As I do most mornings. And afternoons. And evenings. But a lot in the morning, when The Child has gone to school, and The Man to work.
So far today I’ve worked mostly on the lyrics for “Everybody’s Beautiful.” I sang Wedgie Wedding a capella, while dancing a bit to it. And think I’ll now tune my guitar and look at the chart for this.
And of course, my lyrics tweaking brain has been running its tongue over the little chips in the teeth of the lyric lines here I think can still be a bit better. Maybe just 2 lines.
But first, to the FM7 section that flips the light on the chorus. Thinking I need to come up with a simpler guitar part there, just for that chord section. The C / CM7 I think works well as it is.
And shoot, I have some mp3s to send. Look for yours too in the next day or so.

Jannie said,
yay! I DID improve the lyric in verses 2 and 3 these past couple days!
2.
In the music of the leaves up laughing in the trees, in the songs we sing
in the chorus of the winter forest, in the miracle of spring
In the mountains in the flowers, feel heaven’s powers.
Anything we wonder in the sunlight and the thunder, we will see…
3.
Think of something nice to do for someone who loves you, something nice to say
Take somebody by the hand so they will understand everything’s okay.
Sailing by the chart in the ocean of your heart
Anything you’re searching all you need to know for certain is one thing…
Love will be the answer…..
Now…
what shall I do next?
Joe Hesch’s sidebar button, I think.

Buuuuuut… before I get to Dear Joe’s sidebar “Buttin” I shall fun around a while on the list I just wrote on the notepad I bought Jim for his birthday. It’s “The Big Scratch Pad” and only cost a dollar!!
And my list is…
3 Songs For Shakespeare’s on Monday, March 12, 2012…
“Love Will Be The Answer”
“78704″
“Banana Sear Bicycle.” I mean seat! Let’s hope the seat is not searing hot — from all that “frying” down the street.
and practice on…
“Do You Dream”
“You Could Love Me Good”
“Everybody’s Beautiful”
the latter which will entail a bit more lyric juggling, but I’m getting closer and feeling it pull me in more and more as thoughts bubble up.
But actually — I’ve not been to Lynn’s blog yet from Yesterday, so that’ll be a, extra little warm and fuzzy sidetrip before I go back to my guitar.
xoxo to anyone, or no one

Dearest Young Un Hilary… ahhhh, thanks a lot.
Did you notice in my comment just above — Comment 27… I totally improved the lyrics!! So happy for and with me.
And with YOU!! And the thought of Cornish pasties. And lemon curd banana flambe.
Oh, how awesome — “I Need A Man” really stands up. It was so hilarious the other night at Shakespeare’s, that song spurred a lot of conversation. As did Banana Seat Bicycle.
Flubbed up “Sugar lady” a bit, tho. Oh well… lessons and blessings. lessons and blessings.. Was just thinking about “Bones” a while ago and how that would be a fun one to play out too. Haven’t looked at the chords in a while.
Big HUGS to you too!!!

Hi Jannie – I did, I did .. and the refinements just hone it down a little don’t they – but I must say I love both ..
Now “I Need a Man” – think of singing that on the stage at the Minack Theatre – while we all munch on pasties … that would be some concert!!
Happy thoughts .. the Shakespeare session sounds fun – every time I play the CD .. the “cheeks” amuse me .. I have some friends and Micky is always going on about Laura’s cheeks – must say they’re good ones?!
Cheers and big hugs again … xoxoxo Hilree

Anyhoo, arrived at the library just now where the computers are fast so I can read and comment quicker on blogs than at home.
Yes, will LOVE singing at the Minack Theatre. has Leonard Cohen played there?
Has Eric Idle?
LOVE your hugs, thanks. I felt them wonderfully all the way over here.
Oh, I am feeling the new lines better, and it’s all about The Feel, eh? Make people feel what you are singing.
Now…
I’ve got a whole 90 minutes to blog-hop before I have to be back for Kelly off the bus.

Hi Jannie .. well you made me find your CD ..and of course you’re right (as am I of course!!) it was wedgies!! Cheeks called wedgies … my mustook …
It’s a great CD though .. not sure how they’re sold now – as I’m rather in need of some updating – in due course .. !!
Wouldn’t it be great hearing you sing at the Minack .. and I have no idea whether Leonard Cohen has played there – probably not .. but I’m sure they’ve had concerts .. and the Eden Project was set up by someone who made his dollars in the music business – and they’re always putting on shows .. singing in a biome, or the outdoor amphitheatre in front of the biomes would be fun too …
Talk anon .. not sure if the 90 minutes is up yet .. glad Kelly’s getting the bus – must save a bit of time for you … big hugs x more … xoxoxoxoxo H

Well, Hilary, the wedgie does go up the cheeks.
Good going, on that!!
Yes, she only comes home by bus ONE day a week now, all the other 4 devoted to picking here up at school by car and ferrying her to gymnastics. YAY!!!! No driving Thursdays.
Yes,I remember the Eden Project, a blog about it I think.
Recording on hold, but if I get some contest cash I’ll go back in and finish.
Thinking my 12th song will be “Goin’ Down To The River” as just this a.m. I realized it’s a song about being sad about burning my waffles — the last waffles I had that I was really looking forward to enjoying.
And # 11 is of course, “78704.”
read and commented on about 10 blogs now, whoooohoooo. And back to it!

Our rhythmic gymnastic team finally got qualified for the Olympics – I’m pleased to say .. they are a lot of new youngsters, so I’m chuffed for them it’s worked out and they’ll be competing – their ambition to be at the British Olympics.
