Somewhere In Colorado

somewhere in colorado
a tall balding architect
in a honeycomb room
is smiling at his wife,
a dream ballerina he
met and married in the
rolling thunder of 1975.
on his loom he weaves
pines into parties and
reclaimed rafters into
harbors many hearts
will sail from around
the world to drink the
wine of gratitude in.
Write a Jumpin’ Jack 55 word flash for The G-Man.
It’s a blast, blast, blast.
Goes live Thursdays at 8:00 p.m.Ann Arbor time.

ThanksDear Lynn. I actually had almost all of the poem first. Then added the pic. And the word honeycomb. And BB asked for yellow tulips. And there it was, is.
Dear Alice Audrey. Some of both. Tequila too and lots of morning coffee. Btw, this poem applies equally well in Montana!! I bet they have honeycomb houses aplenty in your fair State. And hey, do you sound Canadian?
Susan! You’ll have to get in line behind me for that house!
Big hugs back!!

But have been working on some new ones to start playing out soon, working towards my 60- min set.
I just ate the most fabulous ham and cheese empanada! I think maybe it had turnip in it. I LOVE turnip!

the rolling thunder of 1975. that’s the kind of memory that has impact.
those beautiful rafters are so well reflected in the word honeycomb. i love when art inspires a word or two more or less in the piece.

Your 55 sings with Funster wit
prances with Jannie verve,
toe dances with blue bunny balance,
and it makes us both smile and
look at life both ways now.
You are my fave Friday poet
these days. The house in Colorado
looks fine in spring & summer, but
30 below zero and 7 feet of snow
could dampen your enthusiasm.

I love the Colorado style home! Probably has that wonderful fresh smell of pine and wood.
When I designed my home, I used a Colorado style that was made to sit on the side of a mountain, and modified it. It looks good even in flat Florida, and has really stood the test of time!

Well hello friends and ennablers!
I’m sitting out on the back deck with the parakeets. They love hanging out in their cage in the shade of a tree.
But enough of that.
ED! I thought of the word “honeyed” but that looked kind of funny. Are yu familiar with Dylan’s Rolling Thunder tour?
GLENN!! I’d love that kind of winter, all cozy. read lots of good books. Surf the net. Go walking in the snow. Sounds dreamy!
TERESA!! Well, did you have some? Wine? I thought about it, then had some kelp shake instead.
DR.J! I bet it’s a gorgeous place you live in! Wow, a designer too. I should photoshop some blueprints and a hardhat on you too!!!
K & B!! Thanks.
BRI! Yes, G-Man looks smashing. I liked when I did him up in the purple pansy hat, the “Imperial Margarine” crown and as Santa, but this one does take the cake, I think. And the coffee too. I’ve only been to CO once, in ‘96.
MARK!! Cheers to You too. And I think my DVerse this coming week is even funner.

Those post n beam supports sure build some interesting stories of Flash Fiction! G-man sure gets around, too! Reminds me of a huge Barn in Laconia where I attended a wedding a few years back- It was huge n seemed to defy gravity… “…Weaving Pines into Parties…” – word parties!
On 1 April 2012 at 1:53 pm
Jannie said,
Dearest Snaggle ! Is that the wedding where you went wild and had a mixed drink? And looked more beautiful than all the heavenly angels combined in your dress of lavendar and lilac confection? And you made me Google Laconia. New Hampshire. City on the Lakes. Niiiiiice. It is amazing how they put those beamed places together. And how they made the Great Pyramids and such! Word parties, good one!

So anyway….. Beautiful People…
Ahhh, Audrey, thanks so much. I do think I have upped my writing standards. And like to give something positive to the world. YOUR writing is wonderful too.
DayDreamerToo — when in Canada I LIVE for family and Tim Horton’s!!!!! Sooooo tasty. And hey, I should put G-Man in the mountains more often — he does look great in that, eh?
Mary! I ibibed a little last night too. And just finished my morning coffee of gratitude. So much to be grateful for, every moment.
Ravenblack! My one and only Ravelblack. Your comment is even better writing than my 55 — awesome! Yes, I can just imagine how gorgeous the light in that space would be year ’round. Honey was the color that came to mind. Happy Spring to YOU too, dear!
Ahhhh, Diane, thanks so much. Those song videos were from about 3 years ago, but I’m working on some new ones, bit by bit am getting more songs ready for you all.
And speaking of songs…… Jannie goes hopping back to some now.

I sound Canadian? Um… I don’t think so, but then no one can settle on quite what I do sound like. Now and then I sound quite Southern.
I’m not real familiar with the term Honey Comb house, but if they look like that picture at the top, yeah we’ve got them.

Jannie said,
Claudia! I’ll fore SURE have to do more of those. background and such.
No, Dear Aimee no Tim’s here. And not in CO, that I know. I know there IS in Michigan, Boy Howdy!!
I prefer Tim’s to S,bucks. But my fave is Cafe Altura at home, or H.E.B. organic breakfast blend. But I like the bran muffins at Randall’s, not H.E.B.s so much. I DO LOVE H.E.B’s whole wheat bolos!! Bought a bag today, which will most likely be gone by this time tomorrow. 8 in it. Kelly loves ‘em too. Got the butter out softening, whooohoooo. Now, you bad, naughty Canuck you…
Liara!! Ooooo, inner light of wisdom, (ethereal music playing…) Actually, I’ve got lots of beautiful music out here on my back deck. All kinds of birds, mine included. Thinking I might post a short poem and pic of them tomorrow. Who knows what poem shall step forth on the stage of bright and open poems.
Alice Audrey — I bet do do lots of accents well, I just have that feeling. Irish, Cockney, Australian, German, Swiss & Californian I imagine you excel at. It’s MY TERM!!!! Honeycomb house. That’s what the color of te beams reminded me of.

Jove! Ain’t poetry grrreat. We can create worlds with words and transport easily. Can it get any better than this?
