Wow — her first 9.5!

And so sweet of Blue Bunny to think she deserved an 11. :)

k_funster

For that “performance” she placed 7th of 35 girls in her age division last weekend at her 3rd-ever meet.

What a great Level 5 USA Gymnastics bars moment!

She’s worked amazingly hard.

9.50

Now I am off to play work amazingly hard on eBay and songs, but mostly eBay for the next little while — while drinking wine and coffee, but probably not at the same time. :)

And I look forward to lots of fun blog-reading-and-commenting breaks, whoooohoooooo.

Y’all take care now, ya hear!!

Hay Kids — Happy Canadian Thanksgiving!!!! Whooohooooo. Think I’ll eat some pumpkin pie later to celebrate. Store-bot, of course! :) how can I bake when I’ve got this this eBay Empire to run. :)

BRIAN! Isn’t that cool!? She amazes me constantly, as I’m’ sure your 2 young ‘uns amaze YOU on a daily basis with their innate awesomeness.

DEAREST AYALA, RAVENBLACK & DAISY. Tons of xoxoxooxoxoxoxooxxo to you 3 little sweeties all dear to my heart. Yeah, and I love how she just whips around on those things like Tinkerbell. I almost expect her to grow wings and fly off for her dismount. So cute and sweet. :)

SNAGGLE!!!!! Well, Jannie is finally rested today. Hope you are too. And no school tomorrow for Columbus Day. Whooohooo. You can bet I’ll be sleeping-in as long as I can, oh yeah. Her competition season runs until early Dec. She averages a meet every 2-3 weeks, with tons of great training 5 days a week for 3.5 hours a day inbetween. There will also be a Big Meet in January. And no more meets until next year’s season. The higher levels in our Awesome Gym compete this coming winter / spring. Looking forward to attending some of those, hopefully!!

GDK!!!!! Great thinking!!! At your suggestion BB has drafted up a petition he just faxed to The Committee. :) :) Yeah, she did so great. Amazing to see her improvement in just a few months. And TG she LOVES gymnastics…

WONDERFUL RAINBOW AWESOME SMART FUN DEEP WISE WITTY GARDENING KAYKUALA HANK!! Always love your comments. Well, more tiresome for her, than I really. :) Yes, you are SO right — very very worth it. And the friendships are the best part, I think! Wonderful parents and gymnastics girls to enliven and enrich life even more than it already beautifully is! And if she wants to continue to the higher levels, we’re all for that. And the day she’s 16 she can get her drivers’ license to go from school to training to home, and such. :) Her first car will be a small tank, of course. :) Or a ‘57 Buick. :) Luckily my hubby and I have recently added him as an occasional chauffeur now that his employment has changed more to working from home, as we continue to fry up ever more eBay bacon, so to speak. :)

Oh Dear Audrey Howitt — it does all flash by, doesn’t it?? I told her the other day I wish we could go back to her as a babe in my arms. So I still force hugs on her. :) No, no forcing — she still loves cuddles and snuggles. And I can still lift her up and carry her around if I want to! I actually did carry her to bed the other night. Nice to have a petite child. Anyway. I’m taking TONS of pix and video. Wonderful to have all these Kodak moments!! :)

    toodles, y’all

Wow. She really stuck the landing, didn’t she. That’s impressive:~) Perhaps you have a future Olympian on your hands…if she decides to stay with it. That training schedule is major time! My eldest played tennis and my youngest was an equestrian, but they didn’t nearly that amount of time in their sports. This must keep you very busy:~)

Tell Kelly congrats from me. I’m always impressed with those who can fly through the air with the greatest of ease:~)

Hey, Dearest Sara, well I’ll be in as long as she is! :) Sports for youth are great, I think. Yes, that landing was sweetness. I am not exactly sure of all the criteria for moves at that level but my gut instinct at witnessing the above live and in person, was she was looking sharp and knew what she was doing. Yes, a lot of time invested for sure, but a wonderful investment. One to pay off for life in self esteem and the lesson that persrverence really does pay off — and if it’s doing something you LOVE like her gymnastics, my songstering and your amazing prose — talk about icing on the sweet sweet cake of fun. Oh, and once she gets up to say, level 10 she’ll probably get tutoring at the gym, a bit like child actors I’d say to get their schoolin’ in. Luckily, she’s as smart as a whip at school too. So happy for her she inherited her dad’s math gene, and not mine. :) Lucky Kelly!! Tennis and horse ridin’ sound great — and potentially mucho dinero to keep up with. :) But worth it, yes. I will pass on your kind felicitations to K, thank you. And always, a true treat for the soul to have you pop in.

LYNN!! She really did, didn’t she!!??? I was highly impressed with her obvious skill and seeming ease. I think my fave part is when she jumps to the high bar — my little sprite, a natural for that with her pre-training of tree limb leaping and monkey bar monkeying. She IS awesome, isn’t she?? And I AM awesome, am’nt I?? BB yes too, for sure. And you know what??? YOU are beyond awesome and back to infinity three times over, and then some!

Now I think I may write a poem with something in it about “the ever-changing landscape of love…”

HEY DEAREST DR.J!! Oh yes, a proud mama indeed, as you can tell. :) As is her dad, this was the first meet of hers he attended and his jaw fell and stayed open for days at what she can do now. He actually arrived shortly after this. But was able to see the remainder of her routines. When’s the last time YOU’ve been to a live gymnastics meet, or show?

HEY DEAREST ALICE AUDREY!!! Yes, with each level they add on more advanced moves. I believe the Level 6s (where she’ll be next) add a flip-dismount to the end, and a few other tricks along the way. Basic skills at each level are stepped-up. And this is U.S.A Gymnastics Certified and Standardized. 5 is the first actual Placement level, for Texas, any way and I imagine the whole U.S.A. — if not the world. And all other planets. And wouldn’t you just puke if you had to do even ONE of those spins?! :) I sure would.

HEY DEAREST HILARY!! Well, it was her best I’d seen her do yet, so improved in just 2 weeks. Motherly amazement and pride rolled into one, yes! As to eBay I think it will end up being the bulk of our income, now that I’ve hired Jim on too. Yes, Hubby is my new Aquisitons Manager. I’ve even given him my eBay account passcode!! :) With me organizing, invoicing and shipping it’s working out well, combining our talents. And I love having him home where I can supervise and keep an eye on him!! :) :) Hey, did Hardwick successfully get BB’s latest home-made wine?? He shot it through the Tube this morning. Dandelion and hibiscus, with a hint ‘o mint.

Now…..I have been a super-extra good girl getting my eBay auctions up so far today and am now off to treat myself to 500 new business cards, having finally given out all my old ones I bought, like, 4 years ago, whooohoooo.

And now that I photoshop, I can actually design them to my heart’s content before uploading to Vistaprint.

Am I living a charmed existence, or what!!???

Most lovely ALICE AUDREY… you were lucky. I So wanted to be able to gymnastics, but little farm girl out in the sticks could only turn a cartwheel or two in the hayloft and do the occasional vault over the spring calves. :) Did you ever do dance? Speaking of which — that’s where The Pea is at this moment. Forgot to mention when I was telling Hank about her weekly schedule — Saturday mornings is the dance component of her training — from 7:30 to 9:30 — weeding out the men from the boys, so to speak.

JJJJJJJEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAANNNNNNNNEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh. My. Freaking. God. You have returned from the plains and rolling hills of New York to my most humble page. 38 degrees, a right fresh temperature. Still in the 80s here, but slowly & surely summer is slipping back into the lair from whenst it reared its overheated head too many months ago. Yeah, totally smoking, eh???!!???!!!??!! My little Kelly Comenici. :) Actually, Nadia Comenici grew up in a gymnastics family, as I may or may not be correctly recalling. I think her parents ran a gym, so she got a good early start. And now I’m heading back to eBay. Shipping labels to print and such. Bacon to bring in!! I hope you got some birch for an open fire? I do love the sound of the birch bark crackle.

Ahhhhh, LL JOEY… do I sound like a Gymnastics Mom?? :) Probably never gonna be a Soccer Mom. But you never know. She did ask to do soccer once, but we already had piano, gymnastics and school. Plus social time. That was enough. Luckily, they do get a taste of soccer in school Phys-Ed, so that hopefully is satisfying her cravings for that. Yeah, ain’t she good??!! They have high standards at her facility, and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

SHADIATIQUE from the mysterious poetry mountains — hello again!! :) It is an enjoyable clip, yes. haven’t watched it in a few days. I will after I post this, and before I see what’s for lunch. God, yes, sure has blessed her with all that talent and chutzpah. Little Sassyfrass I call her sometimes. In a loving way, of course.

CHRIS! I can see you competing in watermelon tosses, fried egg eating contests and mask decorating, with your 11.00 assuredly setting the florescent pink singnage afire. :) With your Crate, Taxi or maybe Pignose amp cranked to 11 — and only large bread stocked in your green room — you’ll wow us all.
