What’s UP with the cats adopting Kelly’s new (used) balance beam as their nap area!!??

Speaking of The Gymnast, last month she landed her back walkover / back handspring combo on the high beam!!

Here she was at age 3…

She enjoyed gymnastics from age 3 to 5, tried other stuff, then returned 4 years ago at age 7 (at Austin’s best gym, make that Texas’ and possibly the Nation’s best gym) — with the last 18 months on competitive team.

She still LOVES it!!

And last week, one I took with her “Fast Camera” iPhone ap and she captioned.

Her balance beam straddles one of our house additions Jim built with his own 2 hands years before she was born.

Yep, he did all the woodwork too, as i sat drinking wine and singing him songs. :)

Here’s another view of said room, taken yesterday morning…

My new eBay china shop / office corner I set up this weekend!!!

Yay, with a grown-up size chair and desk, whooohooooo. :)

Here’s a “before”…

Ahhhhh, much better now!! ….

My new desk is actually just a table, with Kelly’s old toy shelves arranged on top…

I assembled those shelves all by my l’il ‘ol self when she was a toddler!

Another shot I took this morning with my new office peeking around the corner…

A little messy in eBay Command Central transition mode, but I like it — and stay tuned!

Off now to take pix for 10 auctions and get those up.

And how is YOUR life??

I LOVE that pic of Kelly flying through the air, wow! And in the last one, I had to look hard at what it says on that beam – at first I thought it was “NO CATNAPPING” ;) Your house is beautiful, Jannie, mess or no mess – airy, light.

I love how kitties sleep with such abandon. If only I could sleep hard like that. :) And the balance beam probably has the delightful scent of their Kelly, so they gravitate toward it.

Lovely desk area! Lots of lovely woodwork in that room, too. That house and your family are a treasure!

Ruth! Is that you with the turtle memoir there in your new gravatar? Well, only parts of the house are actually finished, :) but I do enjoy the parts that are, and let in sun and air in where possible. Yes, I am enjoying watching her on the beam. Amazing what she can do! Kelly Comenici!!! :)

Yeah, Bri, the hugging photo melts me everytime. Clue-Clue hugging Karma. They “loves each other so mutch” as BB tells me. Yeah, we got a good deal on a very gently used beam off Craigslist. She can’t do all her moves on it due to its length and height but there is a lot she can practice on it. Wow, your older boy is doing work just like his daddy! Good stuff. They are growing up so frickin fast!! But as long as it’s happy, that’s what matters. And it really IS all good, isn’t it!!???

Well, Dear Hank, jim has great talent, indeed. And worked on it in his spare time and many many Saturdays. I’m not sure I really had the time to organize, but I just couldn’t stand the jumble my old desk had become in it’s basically-unplanned evolution. I’m turning my old desk corner into a seating area. Many more corner pix to come. We have a LOT of corners in our house with all the additions we did over the years, and that would be 4 additions, 5 if you count the new breezeway / entryway, 8 if you count the 2 sheds and the carport. Wait — the tree house makes 9! :) But anyhoo, I let my imagination and my body fly and came up with a desk design that is both practical and pretty. I made the time to do it because it will make me more eBay efficient. I hope so, anyway. :) Do you notice something blue under the table? It’s Kelly’s doll’s trunk I use as a foot rest.

And Jannie best be signing off there for now, as Jannie has 2 vintage blenders to wrap and ship for Jim’s eBay account.

    See you all later!!

Hilary-Bo-Bilary, Dearest. And great to have you back!!! As always. Yeah, I like how in that 1 shot Primo ’bout blends right into the carpet, in the pic with all 4 near the beam. Well, she does like to move and dance and such. Kelly, that is. She trains like, 31 hours a week. They get adequate breaks, tho and plenty of warm-up time, and with rotating on the 4 apparati they don’t have to wait too long a turn. She amazes me! Yes, my desk — at looking at our birds here sitting on the floor to my left now, I see how and where on my desk their cage would look AWESOME! But… I think I’ll go with the beam over across the way for the birds, where the remainder of Kim’s boxes are. I love new phases, learning new things. letting old things go to boost the olde lightness of being feeling. I didn’t know there were arctic poppies. I’ve always liked the red ones, Georgia O’ Keefe did a lovely one. And of course, the CA Poppies. I have photos of Joni Mitchell among them and holding one, as I recall, in one of my books on her. Yeah, “the eBay thing” is amazing!!! And Postie comes right to the door! :) Did you wear your oxfords or your wellies to Oxford? :) I know what you mean about safely behind glass. I feel that way about my china safe in the confines of that old lawyers’ book case I’m gonna buy from Kim. Storage Locker Lady Friend Kim. The one with the Picasso that has found its home (for now) in the south of France.

Well, Lynn should you take us out and bury us? Sorry, couldn’t resist that lame joke of my youth. A:”Mom says I’m a treasure.” B:”I’ll take you out and bury you then.” end of lame joke of yore. :) So, where were we… Yeah, that is really interesting about cats sleeping like that. And you know what I was thinking about? Cats are perfectly happy living in small spaces, apartments or condos or such, or like our cats, on a lot of like, 100′ by 300′ here in Austin, TX with no apparent yen for Paris, Sydney or Bora-Bora. They DO sense the energy and grace of the beam, tho. They know a good thing when they hear, see, and yes smell it!! :) The scent of wonder and possibility. Now… yes, we ARE treasures, thank you. We are blessed. And the neighbors just had a humongous old willow cut down and it’s let a lot of light back in here! It was a tree our former neighbor Katie brought from the river as a sapling and planted about 15 years ago. One of two actually. one had to be scarificed (and sacrificed) for the other as they grew. And grow that one did!

dAISY, WHOOPS… Daisy, Ah yes much better. You look most fetching in that new gravatar, my dear! Like a new gown for the ball. :) Yep, we have pretty happy cats indeed. In fact I think a new noun should be happycat. :) Which reminds me of that super lame but stick-in-your-head-able and kinda fun song Kelly introduced me to… “Happy Cow.” A YouTube sensation. right up there with the Nyan Cat. And the new one she’s played for me “Dumb Ways To Die.” But you asked not any of that. :) Yes, and as of last night I finally get my desk all to myself, as I got my computer problem fixed — just a power cord, TG! Spending $30 feels better to me than spending $300.00 to get back in full swing eBay business — even tho right now I am “a-flitting” in the blogosphere. :)

This little visit has been just what I needed!! Thanks favorite laties. I mean ladies. You were not late at all. For….

    this party is

And let’s see if this computer will let me upload those pix to ebay…

Glad things are set up just right now. Feels good when you have a place for everything and it mostly makes it to that place.

I tore a tendon in my shoulder, so dealing with pain, an aggravating sling, and even more annoying physio treatments. But, hey, the sun came out this morning (first time in since I don’t know when) and that always makes things better. :)

SARA!! I know — isn’t that just the CUTEest cat pic, Clue with his arm around Karma in sleep. Kelly posted that on her cats Instagram page. And yes, yes, yes, I have to say Kelly is growing up awesome, but I can’t claim much of it — she was just born EA “Extremely Amazing.” YOU know about that from your own 2 daughters. Yep, Jannie is happy — it’s a choice, eh? No eBay sales in the past 24 hours, tho — boohoo. So I’ll just keep putting those auctions up. Funny, the more auctions I put up, the more I sell.) :) And YOU, hope you are happy too, but something tells me you are — and probably especially in your brand new awesome kitchen!!

ALILCE AUDREY — i KNOW!! Much better on the desk. Good use of space, I say! The corner used to be Jim’s, then he took over the dining room table when he got his eBay account too. yes, I LOVE my new corner, and I actually have SPACE on the desk to work if need be. I’ll set up my cam. on timer to show you me at my desk. But what gown shall I wear?? I sold the satin champagne one on eBay. Oh — me in one of my new hippie skirts, of course! No cats at my feet today, they’ve all gone off on their own. The penguin is Mumford, apparently Joey from Friends had a smaller one. I never watched the show.

TALON! What you doing tearing a tendon, Girl!! You weren’t trying to lift Charlie or Riley, were you?? I’ve never had to have physio, hope it serves you well, and is over soon. Can’t wait for watching week at Kelly’s gym. Love to see what she can do. She’s happy that her vault is improving — told me yesterday was a good day at it. She’s a Level 7 now!!!! Whooohooooo. Enjoy your sun if it’s shining today. And I LOVE that latest header of yours with the 2 wets birds — precious!!

Well, what is Jannie doing to do next?

“Work” I guess…… But first to sit and stare for a minute or two at my wonderful new red toenail paint. It’s divine.

Jannie, I’ve been off the radar lately. First, move to a new house, the parsonage that our church used to rent out, but Lex and I wanted to turn it back into the minister’s residence, much to the delight of the seniors, who remember “back when…” Since we don’t want to ever buy a house, it seemed like the best way to let folks know we are HERE TO STAY. They had a lot of turnover in pastors… Then my tooth broke, needed extraction (yikes! CRRRACK!) and now I’m on Vicodin and I can’t believe I used to pay good money to feel this dopey. Ha ha.

LOVE this pix. Lex and I will be getting cats this fall, and I can’t wait to see what their personalities bring forth. Yours are so sweet – I think they like the smell of your daughter, no? Especially her stinky feet, wink.

Your husband is quite the talent! And I love how you repurposed the old shelves into a workspace that has light and glowing colors! It’s so… you! Glad to reconnect, and thx for stopping by my blog to comment, too. Peace, Amy

Out of the morning fog comes Jannie to say…

Hello Snaggle. I had that thought too, about the balance of cats — scary how you and I are often on the same level on things. :) I like that solo one of Mooshoo, something about his front paw placement and his expression remind me of the Peanuts piano kid at his keys. :) Yeah, she’s jumping high, some days has more energy and stamina than others, but overall learning so much. Yeah, I’m typing this at my desk now in green shorts and a salmon shirt — not that you asked! :) More corners await my decorating attention, but all in due time, Dear Snaggle, all in due, for me and you…but, enjoying the journey is the key!!

Dearest Ayala, who in shining blog raiments doth appear, shall I be brave and show you the uber-needs-decorating kitty-korner view with Kim’s remaining storage locker stuff? Of course!! After I get it all fixed up! :) It’s got a lovely 3′ by 3′ skylight, so I’ll have to get out my Windex too. :) As to Kelly, yeah, nice form. Improving a lot — sometimes perceived 2 steps ahead and 1 back , but still enjoying it overall.

Margaret! Hubby would say all cats here are FREE to the first taker. :) Seriously, he would, but I’m used to that now. :) Six freaking cats. :) And I love every one of those little cute buggers! When I look into their eyes I am reminded… “All that matters in the end is how much you loved, how gently you lived your life and how gracefully you let go of things not meant for you.” Love that! The Buddah. And you have six HUMAN children, as well as all the furry ones. I am sorry, Primo is not for sale, but you are welcome to come to Austin, buy one of the surrounding houses and take her is as often as you wish! :) You might have to buy up a few and demolish them to have a barn and running space for your horses. :)

LLCOOLJOE! Yes, i guess in a safe environment cats pretty-much let their guard down. And funny to me they generally sleep right in the middle of the kitchen floor when their food bowl is getting low, so’s i notice them and pay attention to their possible impending starvation plight. :) Wonderful question about my eBay desk(s) I shall upload an update picture here for you, but first to see what Jim got at the yardsales this morning!

Okay, back again with that photo for Joey…

My original plan was to actually set the old desk on top of the table, but I got the bright idea of stacking the white shelves on the table, and it evolved! I was thinking of giving the desk away, setting out front with a “Free To A Good Home” sign on it, then thought of burning it, but I may incorporate it into my eBay expansion area which will go where we had originally planned for an indoor garden. Where my old (sawed-off – literally)crappy desk was I’ll be putting parts of the green sectional sofa we bought YEARS ago in Lakeway. And we’ll see how it goes. Currently I have 120 auctions up, but could handle 300, so I’m working towards that. Jim has up about 250 on his account right now. And guess what!?? The past 3 days in a row I’ve well exceeded my minimum daily sales quota to meet my current budget, whoohooooo!!!! How many listings do YOU have??

And I’ll have to come back here for the rest of you cuties. Work to don later, and soon my timer will go to wash this root-blonding goop off my head!

And what WILL I wear today??!!!! hmmmn, something casually fabulous. :)

    Alrighty then,

where were we…ah yes, I believe Joey and I had just chatted… And Joey, currently I have 117 live listings. So far in July I have sold and shipped 48 auctions! And shipped almost as many for Jim on his account. In the past 90 days I have sold and shipped 166 items. All that packing and labeling keeps me well out of trouble! :) And it’s actually pretty good exercise!

Linda, my cat blogging poetic friend… I know, right? Such great shots. The one of KitKat sleeping UNDER the untaped box made me chuckle again looking at it jus tnow. Dood — that’s a great name! It could take me an hour or a day to locate the current sleeping locations of all of our 6. Mieshka stays outside about 99% of the time. Makes her midnight visits through the pet door for food. :) Actualy, Clue’s in the treehouse right now, where I store my Parcel Post shipping boxes. Must go open the door and let him out after I post this. Even tho it’s rainy this week and only in the 80s for highs, he still can’t stay up there. And he’s funny — he loves to sleep on Kelly’s bed during the day. Anyhoo, rambling… Yes, and I’ll be busy with eBay Home Store Phase 3 when my pal gets all that storage locker stuff out of where the indoor garden was to be, whooohoooo. I’l spray paint the above (in before pic) and a couple other matching metal black shelves white for my storage shelves, as my cottage industry expands — until I’m rich and famous from my song-selling, of course! Forget the famous — just make me rich. :) :) Ahhh, but Grasshopper Jannie — there are only riches, and blessings, now and always.

Karyn and Barkly who woofs me… yes, warm and fuzzy. Can’t wait for winter, and 6 cat foot warmers on the bed. :) Kelly actually has a new Instagram gymnastics account she has been posting amazingly artistic and inspirational gymnastics photos (mostly of herself) and thoughts to. She has gained a lot of followers in such a short time. And Katelyn Ohashi actually Liked 1 of her pix!!!!! Kelly had done a cool Katelyn photoshop, tagged her name to it and Katelyn popped in on Kelly. The pic of her above was one she posted. I’m glad you still like and come back to my blog, after these what — almost 5 years since you first visited me! I am honored, thanks.

Hey Dr. J.! Yes, more glimses into the Funchester Mansion! :) Hey I like that. Winchester Funsterhaus. :) Keeping the mystery alive. :) Yeah, wood’s pretty special. My Godmother carves wood ducks. And she makes the most awesome quilts, almost as awesome as Mom’s. (her sister.) And Dad has been known to fashion a kid’s chair out of 1 short squat log, with just 2 cuts! Have you tried carving any marble?

Okay, now to get that curious Clue cat out of the tree house.

    Alrighty then, again…

Hi Claudia! And did you know that Mumford penguin was a most generous and gracious gift from a fellow blogger to Kelly? Patricia of Patricia’s Wisdom took it upon her heart to surprise us with that by post during Kelly’s penguin rage phase. Club Penguin inspired. MY 27 CP palm trees are still there for me to enjoy whenever I so feel ehchanted to pay $5.95 and reinstate my little empire there. :) But unlikely, as I still have a screenshot of my palmed igloo, and all I need is the visual anyway!

Chris! Wasn’t there an episode of Carol Burnett where Mr. Whiggins (hoo, wiggins) and she divided off his office with tape on the floor so stake their respective domains? Maybe not. I’m pretty-sure the Brady Bunch did the same. Again maybe not. I’ve got a mind like a steel sieve. :)

Hey, Rave, I’m not posting as often as I once was, but when i’ve cat pix, or general pictorial awesome in Funster Realmdom I’ll let you know. Thank you. Jim went pretty wild with the building there for like, 17 years in a row. :) And I’m trying to finally catch up to the Martha Stewarting thereof. :)

Sharp Little Pencil… off the radar but glad you’re resurfaced, always a highlight to read what you say. Yes, repurposing is so enlightening! I guess I have my grandmother’s and Mom’s knack at that and arranging spaces efficiently, kin d of an Irish Feng Shui thing (shit, did I even spell that right?) I was actually working on a song for a while called Feng shui. But nope, just a passing fancy for a tune. So you are LIVING in a former parsonage????!! Is it old? Your comment reminds me of the sweet little old wood church in the heartland of the Canadian province I was born and raised in. Someone converted it into a cute little fish and chips place, you could actually sit inside to eat. Pews replaced by tables and chairs. Stained glass windows gracing your meal. So glad they repurposed it! Sad that many quaint little places have been flattened to make way for skyrise condos. Oh well, whatcha gonna do?? Vicodin — I remember that, :) Loopy-loo after those minor operations on that stuff. Hope your tooth is happy in heaven now with Tooth Fairy. :) :) Ahhhh, you gonna adopt from a shelter?? If so/ go for the pet adoption when possible. The mother of the 4 now CATS (kittens spring 2012) we adopted. And a word to the wise… Get your 2 fixed at like, 4 months old. Don’t be a dumb-ass like us and end up with a kitten getting preggers on her first heat in a season where there was like, a 1000% higher cat birth rate than any year since 1807. :) Oh and did you HAVE to say TURNOVER in your comment??!!!! You got me thinking about pastry — so near and dear to my heart and taste buds. Oh, and Amy… I also painted her dresser and colorful shelves all those pastel tints when I was about 6 months pregnant with her — that beam-leaping wonder maiden. I put down the peel and stick fake parquet when she was almost 4.

Roland! Sorry I had you in comment approval stir there for a while. I’d been away from The Blog for a couple days in The real World. You know how that goes, eh? Or is blogging really the REAL world, and all that other stuff out there just imagined? :) “Houseful of cats” see comment response directly above to Amy (Sharp Little Pencil.) Now… what is blood courier? Do you transport plasma products in coolers to and fro for a living? How’d you find my blog? You a G-Man friend?

So nice to see you again, ROSEMARY! Thanks, thanks, thanks, thanks! And the computer I did up your business card on is quite possibly now defunct. But… maybe Computer Friend Jeff can resurrect her! We’ll see. I guess he can even work on it remotely — a ghost in my registry keys and laptop guts and such. :) Again, LOVED “Secret Leopard.” you got it goin’ on, Girl!!

Well, looks who finally breezes in. :) :) :) G-Man i got some writ, it’s just to get ‘em tidied up and posted. one is about us all being God and all THIS being heaven, and such.

    Yay, I did it!!

Now, how about seeing approx. much to ask for that particular brand of bone china serving platter……..

So glad to see that you continue to savour every moment, to appreciate the simple things, and to enrich the lives of others in exciting new ways. Donating, selling or passing on what you no longer use is such a breath of fresh air. Life itself is like a box of chocolates or an auction. You never know what is coming next. The fun lasts forever when you allow yourself to look at the bright side of it all.

Colleen, it IS good to catch up! And sooon I’ll treat myself to the latest Floyd Festing. So… by the “last” shot you mean in the post itself, or the one I inserted above into the comments?

Alice Audrey! Alice Audrey! Am I on the right post? Am I on the right post? Right planet. :) :) Storage locker dissemination Phase 17 now in semi-full swing. And I like the idea of vertical gardening.

Liara! And of course now you’ve got me singing a particular Monty Pyton tune from Life of Brian. “Always look on the…” Oh goodness. Quite an enchanting little ditty. :) And yes, I “should” be sad because my laptop needs resussitating (or however you spell that) or replacing, my good camera’s on / off button up and quit its job and one of my lovely wooden clothespin just broke. But I’m not sad. Nope. how can I be? With all the awesome things in my life. Oh — and the deer CLEARED that one bed of impatiens. My largest bed, boohoo. Oh well, what’s left are even happier than ever. I’ll see if I can capture some good flower “afters” with the lesser pixel camera I’ve been reduced to. Actually, the Kodak EasyShare C653 takes decent pix.

And now… I have a bubble-wrapped and boxed demitasse set to buy postage and print a label for. For my sister’s birthday!!

Audrey Howitt — sorry!! I meant to include you…

Yes, I had one of those Subscribe button thingies at the top of this blog at one time. Maybe I’ll bring that back! And add 1 more something for a perfect 5. I think Pentacles are just heavenly, don’t you? 3s and 7s are good too, of course. I actually had a Tarot reading last week from a friend and I chose the Queen Of Pentacles. My first Tarot reading ever. I learned that life is even more awesome than ever and forecast is for more of the same.

My kitties would love anyone who loved them. Do drop in and soon!!!

Hope all is well with you and that your summer is going blockbuster:~)

I occasionally stop by and stroll through the sleeping cats. They make me smile. I love the one with the box on top:~)LOL

I read the comment about the Tarot reading. When I went to my first Tarot reading, I pulled the “Death” card. Of course, it freaked me out until I learned more about it. I now use the on-line OSHO cards. I love the messages they have.

    Well, enjoy your summer.

Okay, so dear Sara, your comment inspired me to just now post a 20-photo essay of some of our summer thus far. And was inspired to shout you out over that man and woman in the Monet.

OSHO cards, you know I’ll be Googling that!!

Maybe the Death card can mean death to things we let go, ushering in that incredible lightness of being?

    See you soon!

I found a plug in for wordpress that allows me to move the comments from one post to another. Clears up those occasional mess ups when people click the wrong one.
