if you’re wandering

ninas_bermuda

if you’re wandering
down the shore

still looking for
half of yourself

and for that
little cottage with
the yellow door,

come on in.

i’m standing at
the kitchen counter
folding photoberries

into pies
for you.

i’m stuffing the
crusts with armchairs
you can sink into

to drink your tea
here by the sea.

if you’re
wandering

please
come
wander
with me.

A lovely poem filled with peace and comfort, and I love the lilting rhyme. It perfectly fits the picture. Did you take that? I hope you had a wonderful Fourth of July.

Hi Dear Linda. Guess what? The rhymes just kind of happened. So glad for peace and comfort, nice to share. No I did not take the photo, a lovely lady in Bermuda did. The 4th, yes, very nice indeed. How about yours?

Funny enough, I’ve been wandering beaches, tide pools and shorelines for centuries now: East Coast, West Coast, Mediterranean and those lining Britannia and her regal reaches. Happy Summer to you, Miss Jannie of Texas!

P.S. You might be thrilled to know “Rosie’s Song” brought many a tear to my sister-in-law’s eye. Her own sissy moved from CA to CT; your tuneage served as quite the catharsis through a raw-ther painful phase. That is what words and melodies are meant to do, n’est-ce pas? 😉

Hey Linda, yeah DIY — reminds me I still have your comment on my previous post to answer. We enjoyed a great backyard pool party at some friends’ house. Burgers too! sack races. water balloon tosses. A few fireworks. Good times.

Bri-Bri, summer school is over, yeah. is that for the kiddoes or you. Free to be is very very nice. We still have gymnastics 5 days a week, but not quite as early as last summer. And weekends are OFF!! Speaking of which… IT’S FRIDAY NIGHT, WHOOOOHOOO!!!

Dearest Jennifer Susannah, I was poking through my treasure boxes the other day and chanced upon a big yellow envelope rife with beach glass one fine lady picked and mailed me from a tide pool shoreline a few years ago. And I thought of her today as I was posting this. And who could such a special, special lady be? Only my very own Jennifer Susannah Devore!! I think it’s the violin that makes one weep a wee bit in that tune. I like the harmonies on that too. And holy cow — wait until you hear my new tunes. I am only keeping maybe 4 of the ones I recorded a few years ago, melding them with 6 more. Stay tuned!!

Hey Dear Alice Audrey, Thank you! I enjoyed a bit of a blog wandering last week too, yours a stop on the short tour.

Thank you, Simple Spirit! I loves me some poetries.

Thank you, Dear Daisy, and cool you are the second commenter who mentions comfort. Yeah things are going swimmingly. And did I really just write the word swimmingly. :)

And it’s always a special day when Gord’s words pop in. Thank you!

Lynnie-Muffin, my imagination soars because of sweet ladies like you. I think my next post could be called “10 photoberries for you.” :)

Beach glass! I do recall selecting those bits from our sandy seclusion especially for you. Perchance you will create something as lovely as your tuneage with those mystical scraps of blue, green, white and brown from all across the Pacific :)

    As I’m wandering, I’m wondering-
About how my friends have been doing
    over there in Texas-
    But they’re not there…
    They’ve waved so long
    on a wave,
    To the tropics

    n I was unaware as I wondered n wandered
    where the waves were…

Wow- such beautiful color! Lucky you!
    I’ve never been there.

Dear Sara whooohoooo, Sara’s here, Sara’s here! I would paint our front door yellow but it’s varnished mahoghany and I’d have to strip it down and put on the tint. I think that’s against the law or something to do with mahog? :) now a pine door… yellow it will be! For thee and all nice peeps like thee.

Dear Dr. J. and always a pleasure to have you here.

Dear Jennifer Susannah Devore, I did photograph the glass in the Zilker Gardens white gazebo by the light of a moonbeam afternoon, and started a poem, but the California breeze fluttered in on butterfly wings and swept the poem to Maine. But… all the very best is yet to come!!

Dearest Snaggle, I wonder as I wander out under a star. Christmas hymn, right? Nice melody. Speaking of which Kelly and her team-mates all spent the day at a waterpark Wednesday and some of them were singing CHristmas tuens. Sorry, spelling. :) I have only been to Bermuda once, for a week in 1996, but about 1,000,000 times before and after in my dreams. And I now see my big freaky eye is the same hues as the Bermuda blues and greens. I hear some people have rare twilight-colored eyes, I’d love to see those in person one day!!

Hi Jannie – I saw you’d posted and just needed to get a talk written up – trouble was/is Mary Queen of Scots’ head wouldn’t come of and I couldn’t get it finished!!!??!!! – and I’ve been up to my eyes in other things … but lovely to see you at the blog .. always good to hear from you and BB …

Lovely sea photo – gorgeous colours and I remember kelp knitting … I could have posted about that in my A-Z this year or at least referred to it ..

Wonderful words too .. I could wander as a breeze across the ocean ponds … call in for a glass of wine, or a cold frappe coffee … for get togethers with blogging friends and especially Blue Bunny and his bunch!

Good to know you’re still writing, and I’m sure still playing, and then driving the littlie – though perhaps not quite so littlie now – around … and watching gym antics and hearing the girls’ giggles ..

Big hugs from Hardwick and I – we are in a heat-wave with stormy lightning bursts in between – glad for the rain for the land … talk anon .. thinking of you .. cheers Hils xoxoxo

Dearest Hilary of the heart, I wonder if the Queen Mary cruise liner was named for Mary Queen of Scots, I imagine so. Jim and I had the pleasure of staying there 20 years ago! On the Queen Mary, that is. Now docked in Long beach, CA as hotel. We took Kelly there when she was 4. But I digress already. :) Maybe next year your kelp knitting shall be the K of the A to Z. So… you like those cold frappes. I know they are quite popular, but I still prefer my java hot. may even gohave one after I post this. Yes, writing and playing and singing. Practiced my 3 new tunes today. Fun! Amazing how after “working” at it for a few years one can actually get “better” at the musicianship. :) Thinking of you and Hardwick there on your lovely green isle too, always with super-big awesome hugs, and wondering where your next post shall take us!!!! xoxooxoxoxoxo

Dearest Audrey Howitt who traveled so far to visit Funsterland, the beach, the beach. Nothing quite like a beach. Nice invention actually. :) Can’t imagine a planet without them. What kind of beach did you grow up on? Ours was always singing with the sound of great possibility. xooxoxoxoxxoxo
