a very merry Christmas
we had us some fun
that was some months ago
yet, life’s just begun

~~ everybody now, and so it was Christmas… la la la la la

Christmas 2015… in lieu of decorating our house with a string or 2 of lights in several rooms respectively, I installed ALL lights in the room where we spend most of our time.

The first of the photos here was actually taken last. I can tell because the beams were more filled-in with Jim’s yardsale-found antiques. I finished that “beamage” project over the holidays.

LOVE how in the 4th photo you can see the reflection of Jim’s blue file folder in the mirror opposite, and the tree’s reflection in the big painting! :)

Yep, so that was Christmas.

And now it’s spring!

Look at the spring-cleaning I did yesterday around our fireplace!!!

Took a lot of elbow grease to get the soot off, but I got there, pretty-much.

Chilly and rainy here today, yay! Might have a fire again tonight, going down into the 50s for a low, whooohoooo. Summer can wait!

Love, Jannie

Wow, and look at this new Sociable thing below! I guess when my WordPress updated, that came along too, cool!

Well, hello Beautiful People, and this is really funny, ALL of your comments went into moderation, must be something to do with my new WOrdpress update, Anyhoo…

Hilary!!!! Could you please let me know which of these 2 100% cotton (linen laid) papers with real pressed flowers you would like your snailmail letter on — the ivory on the left, or the pink-ish hue on the right? Photo here below… And yes a fire for the 3rd night in a row now. I imagine the soot is finding its way back! :) Supposed to be back up to 30 Cel. again in the next few days. Another scrub will most likely wait until NEXT March! 😉

JANICE!!! Been way too long. So great to see you!!!!!!!! So many beautiful photos, so many great times in love and life. And my new WordPress up date seems to have put all comments in mooderation, please forgive. So glad we connected!!!!

CONNIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Your real name, yay!!!!!!! :) :) :) The lights just kind of “happened” string by string over the course of the day after Thanksgiving, until about Dec. 20th. :) And may even put MORE up next year. :) Yes, I have been doing a lot more FB and Insta than blogging, then when I was ready to post here 2 months ago, I had code problems. But bobs-our-uncle- here we are!!

LYNNIE-BO-BINNIE.. LAST WEEK, I read “Girl With A Pearl Earring” for the first time!!!!!!!!!!!!! Remember your fridge magnet post a month or so ago? Acutually I’m not yet sure whether you read my comment on that post, or not. :) Been meaning to check back on it. And catch up with your newer posts!

We got up to 50 yesterday. Yay!!!! I’m totally ready for Spring. We’ve been too warm for snow for over a month, but had some that stuck around a few hours last week.

Oops, you got me started on weather. That’s never safe. I’ll be grumbling about climate change next.

What magical lights! We also put most of ours inside our living room last Christmas, but it didn’t have quite the same effect. Maybe I need a fireplace. Actually, I’m not allowed to have one. It’s illegal here.

BTW I think your s pam numbers went up because there are more determined smammers out there right now. I got seriously attacked a couple of weeks ago, with all kinds of Chinese posts slipping past the filters. Then my whole server went down for days! It was awful.

Yeah, we leave the decorations up as long as we can! I don’t miss the tree so much as I miss the train that runs around the tree :-)

Glad you are using your fireplace, and it looks great! Probably built some muscle doing that!

I’ve been playing a little more electric guitar lately for variety. I doubt if the neighbors like that, lol

Hey, Janice! yes, I still have summer vacay pix from last year to post too. All, eventually perhaps. :) Good to see you!

Hey, Connie! Yes, it all started with the string around the fireplace, and kind of mushroomed from there. :)

Yes, Lynnie, Christmas lights do bring a festive glow to the heart. And I actually have all our outdoor ones down now, as of like, 3 weeks ago!! :)

OMG Alice, I just spent 5 minutes getting the Chinese spam out of my moderation queue!! What the heck? That must’ve been disconcerting when your server went down, yikes. Wow, illegal to have a fireplace??!! I guess only the enclosed little stoves are allowed?

Hey again, Snag!! Jim built that whole fireplace / mantle / hearth / tile thing all by humself! He actually built the whole room. :) Yeah, I like it, just need to get some new white or ivory tapers to complete the look.

Hey, Dr. J!! I’ve been getting really good about decorating early, right after Thanksgiving, have everything up for about 2 months. :) Ahhhhh, you ARE a real Christmas lover with a train around the tree, awesome!! Ah ha, you’ve been plugging in of late! You can always use headphones, but nothing quite like blasting a room away.

Barks — hey Instagram buddy!!! And these pix were mostly taken with Kelly’s old iPhone 4S, pretty fuzzy quality. Gonna have so much fun with the lights again next year, with better quality pix now that I have a brand-new iPhone 6S PLUS (good size screen for these eyes of mine.) 128 gigs!!! LOVING my phone, and very much appreciated after 5 years without an iphone in the years where we had to economize. (made do with a Samsung Montage.) But we’re back on track, and then $ome now. :) And I LOVE my Otterbox Defender case which is 2-tones of blue — sky and navy which totally match my Vera Bradley purse I got a supergood deal on, eBay.

And hey, I saw on someone’s FB of snow TODAY, Nova Scotia I think it was. Hope your snow did not return. Still, it’s not yet May. Snow can happen. :) I’ve actually seen freak snow flurries in N.S. in June!!!!!! :)

Not even enclosed stoves are allowed. Nothing that burns wood. It’s part of the “airshed protection” laws.

They don’t have the round metal grills in the valley, at least not that I’ve found. They do have some standing grills and it’s ok to grill out when the burn danger isn’t too high. In the middle of forest fire season you can’t do that. I’m fine with it. One year a bad burn started when someone parked over tall grass. The heat from their pickup engine was all it took.
